Date of Scene: 06 May 2023
Location: Frontyard - Xavier's School
Synopsis: o
Cast of Characters: Firestar, Wolverine

Firestar has posed:
"I'd swear I told myself I'd never let myself stress over school again." Angelica mutters to herself, not an angry sort of stressed, but stressted none the less. She has a bag over her shoulder with books in it and a teacher's edition Physics book that is used here at the school.

She pauses and sets the bag down for now and settles onto the grass to just enjoy the weather for a moment. A few deep breaths and her body seems to relax away the tension that was just present.
Wolverine has posed:
One of the doors outside opens, and closes. The heavy "clunk" of cowboy boots follow after a few steps. A little rustle from a well worn bomber jacket, with a nice medium leather color. "Frrrt," cuts through the brief silence as a long stick match meets the heel to the cowboy boot. The yellow-orange flame burns brightly and it goes to a cigar waiting in the wielder's mouth. Glowing to life, the cigar's cherry kisses the flame in greeting and anyone looking back can see Logan's smile. This is how he does a cigar.

Walking outside a little more, he'll take a puff, blow smoke and then see a familiar redhead. "I didn't tell the students 'bout an attractive redhead runnin' a science class yet. Whatever happened wasn't on me," this is Logan's attempt at a joke. Just something to cut through some obvioous tension coming from Angelica as he approaches. He won't ask any obvious questions yet.
Firestar has posed:
Shuffling a few books around the bag, Angelica closes her eyes for a moment to just stop. The sound of the door opening and closing causes her eyes to open again, her attention moving to the sound of the new arrival. Noting Logan's presence, a slow smile touches her lips.

When he makes the statement about the attractive redhead her smile might take a little devilish tone to it briefly and then she manages a over blown sigh,"That's it. I'm going to catch Guthrie and roast his sensitive parts." Poor Sam, not even here to defend himself. She winks at Logan and tells him,"It's good to see you again."
Wolverine has posed:
"Least it aint' me," Logan says about Sam's unfortunate hotdog roast. Another puff of the cigar, smoke -away- from Angelica's direrction. "Good seein' ya. Fittin' in okay or do I gotta stab someone?" he asks. Whether or not he means those words is up for debate.

Eventually, he will ask a very loaded question. "You okay?" and there is a concernered undertone in those gruff words.
Firestar has posed:
The devilish smirk remains a few more seconds and she laguhs a little bit,"I think I am fitting in OK. They are working on setting me up with a room for the time being so I have a place to stay that is stable. It'll help me be able to work here and get to NYU campus without too much trouble."

When he asks about her she lets the devish smile slide into something a little more her. She nods and assures him,"Oh. I'm OK. I couldn't be happier helping out here. I have a little time to get ready for all of it without having to worry too much about it all. I getting to see a few old friends and making a few new ones. If I could get rid of the family baggage still hanging over me I think I would be perfect, but I have ignored him well enough thus far and he doesn't really try too hard to be dad or even in contact too much so..."
Wolverine has posed:
"It'll be like the city, but with better company. More annoyin' company sometimes. Still, better than most," Logan says being honest. Most are good people, but some neighbors are still young. They can be noisy. So, no differnt thant he city.

"So, find a new family to cling to n' go no contact," Logan sees cutting out people from life as something theraputic. Ocean blue eyes look back to her. "Some blood family probably won't want ya to blossom. Better off wit'out em'," he says firmly just trying to be hoenst with the woman.
Firestar has posed:
"I am already bracing for the young men and potentially any young women with behavior troubles because of the young teacher." she admits,"I was young once, I guess according to some I still am, but I am a little ahead of the curve. I can deal with noisy, you ever try to sleep when Sasquatch has a head cold. Even in human form, it's ugly."

The idea of finding a new family does cause her to pause. She looks at him for a long time, quiet and contemplative,"You know. Alpha Flight, especially the New Warriors, really did become family and I didn't have any contact with him then." She crosses her arms and finally nods,"Maybe I should just cut him off. There is a neighbor up the road that he has been spending time with. Maybe I'll just dip and leave him to his life." She blinks once and looks at Logan,"Thank you. I needed the clarity."
Wolverine has posed:
"Surprised they ain't doin' it," Logan's honest here. "They must be slippin'," he takes another puff of the cigar. "Give it time, they'll come," and he takes another puff. Again, all of the smoke not pointed her way.

Smirking about Sasquatch, "I remember that," he shakes his head. "N ya might have more expierence wit' tha thtan me," shaking his head. "Poor girl," his voice laden with honest empathy.

Shrugging at her compliment, "Eh, I get good ideas once in a while," he ashes the cigar and then looks at her. "Owe me a beer if ya feel guilty or indebted," to Logan, it's just him helping. Some people take deep bonds about what is owed. So, he's quick to list a low threshold. Beer.
Firestar has posed:
"I haven't been overly present yet, but I anticipate it coming soon. Maybe I'll explain what will happen to the young men's pride if they get too close to the walking nuclear meltdown. Maybe get them in their primitive brains and move on." She laughs softly at the sympathy that comes her way with the Sasquatch story,"Oh. When it got real loud, I knew a place to go to sleep with a few of the Warriors as well. We weren't exactly camping, too cold for that, but we weren't in the barracks either." She leaves that vague enough.

"I'll tell you what. You and I will follow up on that some time. You'll have to be there to collect, but I'm buying." she agrees easy enough,"I'd say I am coming out of this ahead, but I'll take it for free. I heard about a place called Macanally's. Supposed to have the best steak sandwiches and home brews in the area. I think I could buy you dinner too." She shakes her head,"I noticed the other night, it is a lot easier to talk to people and interact with those I can't hurt just being around. You and Vanessa both heal fast enough I don't think I can do any long term harm to you, but I try to be careful anyway."

She does snort softly as she admits,"I am realy beginning to wonder if I am the only mutant on the planet that doesn't have accelerated healing."
Wolverine has posed:
"I don't wanna know," Logan says softly with a smirk pulling at his lips. He can imagine some of the stories from her warriors days. Logan will leave it vague, but it's clear he suspects the worse.

"Alright," Logan agrees then the talk of Mac's come forward. "It's been years, it's damned good," Logan says firmly. His mouth almost instnatly waters from the memory. "The recipe tastes like it was before technology n' shortcuts ruined food. It's damn near magical," and for once, he might sound like his age!

"Don't worry 'bout me. There's a few of us, but ain't many," he says to the healing knowing she could cause issues for others.

"People could make ya better suit. Maybe find a way to dampen your power output when yer idle," he says trying to offer some silver linings.
Firestar has posed:
He doesn't want to know, so she spares him the details. That probably makes it seem even worse, but that all the fun of it. For the awkward one, she does know how to make people wonder. Maybe that's just a natural side effect of being the awkward one.

"I think I will be free Thursday night. If that works for you we're call it a plan." she comments about the trip to Mac's,"I haven't had a chance to actually go there, but I keep telling myself I need to so that will get me there."

She nods when he talks about not worrying about him and smiles a little,"Oh I know there aren't a lot of you, but just sometimes I get exasperated worrying about people and realzing some of them are safe from me only after worrying about them. Vanessa and I have spent a lot of time together and only recently did I realize she could heal up quick. She admits not a quick as you, but quicker than most."

"As for the suit, I am always open to new ideas and better designs, but the mad scientists up there di a good job. I keep meaning to try and meet Dr. McCoy and even though he seems to be a sore spot right now, Dr. Banner is among the foremost experts in radiation."
Wolverine has posed:
"People would kill fer this steak n' I can't say I'd blame em'," Logan admits, just being honest. Again, he -remembers- that steak. The taste burns in his memory. "I'll be there," he says about Thursday.

"I get it. Pepole wit' certain powers are gonna worry. That's a thing," he says just being honest about it. People like Angelica will always worry. "Just know I ain't a danty flower despite how I look," Logan gives her a nod.

"I'll ask 'round. See if I can cause enough waves fer ya," he gives a nod about the costume. "I can't make ya one, but maybe I can call in a favor. Get ya to someone that -could-."
Firestar has posed:
"You're making me really want this steak sandwich now." she admits,"It's going to keep me thinking about it for the rest of the week." Now she's hungry, the gurgling in her stomach reminds her she hasn't taken time for a meal today.

"Yeah. I think it's going to probably follow me around no matter what I do. I was cooking without the suit and Sam came in, instantly I was worried. I wasn't actively using my power, but paranoid is what it is." She considers something and admits,"One of these days, I am going to give you a flower just so you can be dainty for a minute." she teases lightly.

"I appreciate the ask around." she tells him,"Anything that makes me safer to others. This suit doesn't protect me as well as it does others, but I don't really think that is a thing. Mac fixed some of the broken, but..." she shrugs,"...mabe sometime I'll tell you a story."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan smirks and supresses his own comment. Ocean blue eyes flick back to her for a moment. Though that gurgle makes im react, "Ya need to eat somethin' that's better than vendin' machine food," he warns.

"Talk to Jean. She might be able to help ya," he offers Angelica a means, or starting, point to get things figured out. It's not an instant cure, but a start.

"Flower better be a codename fer beer," he says honestly. A lot of peple want to see Logan become dainty, dressed up, stylish or some conbination thereof. He shakes his head, thinking none of those would mix with him.

"I'll ask round'. Everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own skin," he says and just gives the woman a nod of respect. "Gonna leave me wonderin' bout the story?" he asks with a raised brow.
Firestar has posed:
"Yeah. I need to eat. I think there is some left overs from the experiment cooking that I did the other night. Some time you should catch up with me and I could cook you something home cooked if you wanted." she admits,"I will head for dinner after I put the books away."

"I need to catch up with her again for several reasons, but yes. I think she might have some other ideas that I haven't considered either." The codename for beer comment gets a wicked grin and she shrugs,"I guess we'll see what we see."

When he talks about being comfortable in her own skin the smile fades and she admits,"It would be nice. Last time that was the case I didn't have powers at all." She pauses for a long moment and finally she says,"Mac helped me. My power almost rendered me unable to have children. Dangerously close. It's going to be a consideration for the rest of my life too I think." That's where she leaves the story,"For now I need to get some books settled and get me something to eat. You could join me if you want?"
Wolverine has posed:
"The fridge could be yer best friend or yer worst enemy here," Logan says with a smirk. Ocean blue eyes look back toward the school and he thinks about that fridge. Shaking his head for a moment.

"You could be surprised what she knows," Logan says and then then he sees the grin. Putting it together about the beer, he gives the woman a smirk again.

"I kinda figured, but I'll join ya. The meals wouldn't be bad. Don't go outta yer way to do it," Logan knows his hours can be odd. They just tend to clash with a lot of people. So, he doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. "You'd make a good Mom," he offers are some kind of consolation prize. He knows that may not do enough.
Firestar has posed:

"Oh yes. The fridge is a dreaded part of the home no matter where." she agrees,"I try to be careful how much time. I have to keep this girlish figure so I can keep the young men around here on their toes." Of course that is mostly talk since she doesn't do a lot of the dating thing.

She gathers her educational plunder and starts towards the mansion,"Anytime I am about I would be glad to have dinner with you." she tells him. When he mentions her being a good mom, she pauses. Her eyes might mist just a little and she does something uncharacteristic. Unless he evades it, she puts a very quick kiss on his cheek and she mutters softly,"You're the best Logan. Mac and Heather told me as much, but I can see that now." With that she has really over stepped her comfort zone and heads towards the mansion.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan gets the kiss to his cheek and he doesn't fight it. He knows Angelica -is- acting uncharacteristically. "I ain't the best. I'm just honest. i ain't the prettiest. I like fights, a good steak, a good beer, n' Kurosawa films," Logan leaves it there. However, he will put a hand to her shoulder, to comfort her. Give it a simple pat, "Between me n' you, Fire Red, yer the good one. Never ferget that," he says just trying to comfort the woman. Maybe nudge her out of that shell -slowly-. It's half-social issues and half real worries with Firestar. So, he can't quite nudge the social anxities away in full. He will pusha way waht he can.
