Date of Scene: 14 May 2023
Location: McAnally's Pub
Synopsis: Angelica met Logan for the dinner she promised him. He helped her sort something out that needed dealt with.
Cast of Characters: Firestar, Wolverine

Firestar has posed:
There was dinner promised after all and Angelica always keeps up her end. She might have a lot going on right now, but she's heard enough about Logan to know she wants to get to know him better. When she arrives, she steps to the counter first to look around and see if Logan is here yet.

The layout of the place is unique and for good reasons. Unfortunatly, she doesn' have the first idea what those reasons are. She just passed by and had a steak sandwich a while back and realized there was a reason the place is legendary.
Wolverine has posed:
Logan's drive here is a little long. He's done longer, but for Mac's alone it's worth it. These steaks leave a distinctive impression. By the time he makes it to Mac's, the music blares from the Indian Bike.

The song bounces off the walls. At first it could confuse people. The song is called "King of Kings" and that could bring up religious imagery. However, Motorhead sings about the work of a King taking heads, ruling with violence and authority. The imagery quickly turns to something more violent, carnal, like King Conan. Logan just liked the song because it's Motorhead.

The bike eventually parks and he gets off the bike. Taking off his helmet, he puts it in a side saddle. Yes, he wears one sometimes due to local laws rather than actual safety.

Dressed in a pair of simple blue jeans, an army green flannel shirt with black and accents of pale yellow, and a well worn brown bomber jacket. Cowboy boots clunks against the road as he goes from road to walk and into macs.

Pausing once he steps inside, Logan takes a deep breath. Savoring all of the scents his enhanced goodies could pick up. One of the few times he's not curisng the power. Often he can smell everything from cleaning products, cooking spices, how long it's been since someone showered if it got too bad, everything like that. Mac's Steaks are legnedary and he just wanted to get that smell.

The old fashioned way of cooking does take Logan back to times long since past, but he was alive for. Just some small bit of comfort from this simple moment.

Pushing forward he moves into the place, "Still hasn't changed," he says with a bit of wonder to his voice, hidden beneath many gruff layers.
Firestar has posed:
The music catches her attention as well. She pauses and frowns a little, something about the music at once cool and unsettling. She shakes her head, figuring correctly there would soon be a Logan walking in. Something making it inevitable.

She leans on the bar and waits for the appearance. She studies him for a moment and the pushes away. She crosses the distance between them and smirks,"I like the music Logan. It had the desired effect on the people in here." When she glances to a waitress, they are indicated a table off to the side to have a seat.

She starts that way witn one more glance to him. Once she arrives at the table she settles into it, leaving the seat against the wall for him if he wants to watch the door. Again, not really sure about the layout of the place and just doing what she figures is going to make him most comfortable.
Wolverine has posed:
"Most don't," Logan says with a smirk on his face. Ocean blue eyes look about. Sitting at the spot, "Place has a layout. Something 'bout keepin' out bad spirits or somethin'. Don't know really. Something magical about it," Logan once got a very basic explanation of the layout. And has promptly forgotten most of it. It's the best he can do.

"How do ya like yer steak?" he asks honestly. It's a good question to ask given where they are. "And any students throwin' themselves at ya?" he asks curiously with an amused brow raise.
Firestar has posed:
"Might be why I did." she suggests and rests her hands on the table. She listens to him thoughtfully, taking in the words that he tells her about the magical layout of the place. She shakes her head and admits,"I really need to at least learn to better understand the idea of magic. Maybe I will ca tch Illyana sometime. It just doesn't make sense to me."

There is a thoughtful hmm as he asks that question,"Probably medium rare. Just a little pink to it yet." she explains. When he asks about the students she shakes her head and laughs softly,"Not as of yet. I was seen with Jimmy a few times, so that probably helps. They draw conclusions and I let them."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan gives out a chuckle. "It's complicated. Magic's got a lotta rules. Then it gets more complicated when ya talk 'bout Faith magic n' this magic n' that magic. I don't know. Long as it don't hur tme, I'm good," Logan says. Again, this is just a very very basic idea of it.

"Best way to have a steak," he comments. There's more he would say, but he leaves it there. "Jimmy?" Logan asks with a raised brow as he isn't sure who Jimmy is. The only Jimmy he can think of works in a newspaper. That's still a Jimmy he doens't "know." Just the byline, really.
Firestar has posed:
"Rules. Just what I need." she mutters, but then she pauses,"Magic could almost be science with enough rules." she comments a little louder. Still a long way from anything she might understand, but maybe could learn."

A smile when he agrees with her on the food doneness,"I want it cooked, not charred." she suggests. When the name throws him she amends,"Sorry. James, Proudstar. Warpath. We were both at Emma's school together. One strange year, but we got to be good friends."
Wolverine has posed:
"Well, are ya magical? I mean the literal variety," Logan says as he looks at her honestly. Because magic is equally fickle about who can use it and how. Logan's just double checking. "You could learn, but I know it's like a combat style. Different ways to do different things, especially when compared to others," maybe that's a better anology.

"Ah. Been wantin' to run into him. He's a good tracker, wanted to make sure my skills were good," it's important to keep the skill honed. "Not everday I can meet someone wit' that kinda skill," Logan's honest with that one. It's a praise for Jimmy's reputation. "Should have Jimmy give someone a mean look. It'll stop some of those student dreams," he says pointing that out.
Firestar has posed:
"Not magical to my knowledge no. Like most at the school, I was born this way and just grew bigger." she replies. When the waitress comes by she makes an order for four sandwiches and two home brews. She presents the card proving she is of age, because she does look young.

"He's one of the best people I've known. Probably the only reason I managed to last at the Hellfire school. He's a great tracker yes. A good hunter and fighter as well." she adds. She smirks a little at the idea of mean facing students,"You know. He just might do that for me. I should ask him to do that."
Wolverine has posed:
"Some argue we ain't born this way, but somethin' happens n' causes us to change. Kinda like a chemical reaction," Logan makes a point to bring that out. "Three beers," Logan knows he's going to have a second beer.

Angelica talks about Warpath a bit. All the praise adn waht he's willing to do. "Why don't ya make it more than an act? What stops ya? I mean, he knows yer powers n' how they work. Ya got history," Logan doesn't point out what else he picks up on. Just something he smells underneath the aroma of Steak's cooking and home brewed beer. Ocean blue eyes slip to her and he speaks honestly.
Firestar has posed:
"I've heard that theory as well." she agrees and for a few moments slides into science nerd mode,"I really think there had to be something different about us to begin with for the rest to take over. I don't know that, just my thinking." She smiles with her adds another beer to the order.

For about a split second she freezes at the thought of what he suggests. She swallows, but it is dry. She finally meets his gaze again and says,"Some people are a little too good at reading others and sensing their reactions." She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly,"I don't know. For one thing I don't know if he feels the same way. I don't know exactly how I feel. Right now he is among my dearest friends and I..." she snorts softly,"...don't want to mess that up." She considers him thoughtfully,"We have history, but I was hung up on one of the others and missed that for the longest time. I know he can heal quicker, not like you, but quicker. I just...I don't know."
Wolverine has posed:
Looking at Angelica, "People like Hank didn't alwayas look the way they did," he knows that the argument can be countered, too. Just as easily and with fewer examples. However, these examples are still pretty significant.

Logan pauses for a long time, thinking on it. Ocean blue eyes flip to her, "If ya look ahead five, ten, even twenty years. What will ya regret more? Givin' him a try or always wonderin' 'What If?' We don't know how long someone's gonna stay at the school," Logan says knowing people can come and go. Ocean blue eyes look at her, "People leave fer reasons, but they change their reasons, too. A good person can make people rethink comin' or goin'. Besides, yer a good person. N' usually people that share history have somethin' goin' on. Not like, they always fall in love. Just somethin'. Sometimes things happen. Other times they find out how strong it is," Logan speaks honestly, just trying to nudge Angelica. Encourage her to go forward.
Firestar has posed:
"You're right about that." she agrees thoughtfully on the mutation subject and she shrugs,"I guess I'm always going to be first and foremost an expert on radiation and physics in the after mutation time."

She thinks about what he says for a long time and clearly she is hesitant, but she does consider it. Finally she nods and replies,"I'll tell you what. I'll talk to him and if it doesn't work out that he feels the same...you're buying the whiskey."
Wolverine has posed:

"Everyone's mutation is different," Logan adds. It's just him being honest. Then he shrugs shortly after.

Angelica brings up her conditions about talking to James. Logan nos, "Fair 'nough. I'll buy the Whiskey, Ice Cream, Chocolate n' whatever else ya need," and then he gives a small, but hopeful smile. "It it don't work out or he freask out then he's an idiot," Logan's just going to be upfront there. He's not going to mince words there.
Firestar has posed:
She nods in agreement to his comment about being different. When he agrees to her terms she nods,"OK. Now all I have to do is find the courage to do it." she mutters softly. She considers for a second and adds,"For the record, I like Dove dark chocolate with almonds, Bourdeaux Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream, and Evan Williams." At least she knows what she likes.

She smirks a little and looks down at the table as the house brews arrive. It's warm, but that's how Mac serves it. She thanks the waitress softly and and strums her fingers softly on the table,"I appreciate the vote of confidence my friend. We will see how it goes."
Wolverine has posed:
"Got it. Not bad tastes," Logan says and gives his approval. However, he looks at her for a moment. "Isn't that what -your- whiskey is for," Logan asks just pointing that one out. Those ocean blue eyes rest on her for a fw moemnts.

"Eh, I'm ust bein' honest. You'd be givin' me the same peptalk if it was the shoe on the other foot," Logan admits ohoestly then he takes his beer. Taking the first pull on it, he saovrs the taste. Looking at the bottle, "I missed ya too much," Logan admits.
Firestar has posed:
She takes a slow pull from the beer as well. She makes a face, not at the taste,"Why the blaze he doesn't serve it cold." she mutters mostly to herself. The mention of the whiskey being useful for bravery gets a soft laugh,"You might be right about that. Maybe I will catch a shot before I talk to him."

The smile lights her features again and she nods,"Of course I would. Somehow I don't see you as the type needing the pep talk, but I would." she agrees. The smile grows wider when he talks to the drink about missing it. As she takes another draw, the sandwiches arrive. Again she thanks the witress and leans forward to get a slow scent of the food on her plate.
Wolverine has posed:
"I wish he did, but small price to pay," Logan says softly. It's him just willing to take the bad because the good was so very good. Logan's eyes flick up to her as she talks about the support. "You'd be suprirse. Sometimes I might," Loga knows that's probablyr rare. However, sometimes he needs a nudge, too.

SAndwiches come and he'll take another sniff. His outh salivates as the smell slowly dances throught he air and up his nose. "Hopefully I'll be payin' for congratulations booze instaed of the othe kind. . .," Logan is trying to be ar ealist. Knowing things -could- go sideways.
Firestar has posed:
She raises her glass and nods to him,"I'll be waiting." She takes aother drink and then turns to the Heavenly promise of steak. She takes a big bite and chews it slowly, eyes closing slowly and savoring it for a long time. When he comments about congratulatory booze she winks since her mouth is full at first. After that she tells him,"I'd drink to that too. One way or another we'll see how it goes."
Wolverine has posed:
"I'll be rootin' fer ya," Logna says and brings the sandwich to his lips. Taking a bite of sanwich, both yes close. An "Mmmm," slips past his lips. All of the flavors dance across his tongu as he savors it all. Just slowly cheewing and tasting it all. After a long while, he swalllows and nods. "Tht's good," Logan comments and looks at her. "How's yers?" he says knowing this might be her first iem or at least the fist itme in a while.
Firestar has posed:
She takes her time, savoring the sandwich. She nods when he mentions rooting for her. A little smile though mostly she is all about that sandwich. There is nothing like it, anywhere. When the first bite is down, she rpelies to him,"It tastes like the richest treasure and the dirties of sins all at once. In a word: Heavenly."

She goes in for another bite and chews with the same fervor as before. After that bite goes down she takes a deep breath and exhales softly,"Thank you." she finally says,"For helping me get to the decision that needs made."
Wolverine has posed:
% Taking another bite, Logan nods in agreement about the sandwich. It's an assessment he can get behind. Ocean blue eys will open to just not look at anything in particular. He's just enjoying the company and the food. Taktnoehr antoher bite, he just contineues to eat.

Swalowing he will look back to her, "Nothin' to thank me fer. All I did was give ya a nudge to do somethin' you'd wanna do in some time, but would someone like Jimmy be single in a year?" Logan poses, giving her something to think about before another bite goes forward.
Firestar has posed:
"Maybe that's what I needed." she admits softly and takes another bite, savoring the sandwich again. When she talks again she continues,"I don't know really. Where he'll be. I lost track of him for over three years when I was in Canada. We've talked about going up there for a time, maybe it would be a good time to test the waters, but maybe it would be better to dive in and see how it swims. It is hard to say where he'll be in a year." She takes a drink and smirks,"If the waters aren't right, I'll see you at the bottom of a bottle of the best."
Wolverine has posed:
"You'll be swimming in no time and then have new problems about the water," Logan says with a smirk. "Nothin' bad just problems about enjoyin' the water too much," and he takes another bite of the sandwich. Just savoring the moment. He has faith in Angelica being able to get waht she wants. She's better than she knows. It just akes a little faith. If not herself, maybe sosmeone she cares deeply agbout.
Firestar has posed:
"Here's to hoping." she replies to him softly. She decides to move on to other conversation points and making sure he gets plenty to eat and another beer if he wants. She promised a meal and so she lives up to it, enjoying Logan's company for the evening and finds other topics for the remainder of their dinner together.
