Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Willow Rosenberg

Lex Luthor has posed:
If there's one thing that Lex Luthor keeps tabs on it's brains. There are few individuals with the right amount of smarts to make him think about meeting them and this time there happens to be one in the lobby of his building.

Sure, the reason may be contrived and involve a free copy of the newest LEX O/S operating system, the one that's not out until this fall, but whatever reason needed to be floated in the direction of Sunnydale to get said brain to Metropolis. Lex Luthor doesn't mind going above and beyond.

It's when he's been given the word that she's actually made her arrival that he makes sure to grab that LexCorp USB stick and take his private elevator down to the lobby so that he can meet this brain-- er, woman in person.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow found her invitation in the letterbox at the Magic Box, telling her about this new Operating System that would be available come fall! There was *a chance* that she could win one, and that piqued her interest.. above and behind her natural geeky self - lets be honest, Willow would have dropped in on the seminar just because. The chance at winning? Was the icing on the cake.

Sure she wondered about it coming to her at the Box, but nothing made her feel tingly in the supernatural way. Odds are several businesses had one.

She was excited to tell the truth. What are the odds that she would be extra interested? What with her Master's

Walking in through the front doors to LexCorps she was in awe!
Lex Luthor has posed:
The timing must be impeccable because Lex Luthor himself is walking right out of his elevator, followed closely by Mercy Graves at the same moment of Willow's entrance into the lobby. His arrival is enough to keep the lobby security and desk workers from having to toss out unnecessary questions that will likely get them fired.

"Ms. Rosenberg." Lex Luthor's voice is followed by a smile and a small wave as he makes his approach. Mercy stays where she is and watches more than what her boss is up to.

"Congratulations." Lex keeps his grin intact as he extends a hand for Willow to shake since it must be obvious that she's won the... was it even a contest? Does random selection count as a contest? Who knows. Maybe more than one person gets a chance to take LEX O/S out for a spin.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
She.. WON??

At first Willow was so excited she forgot her manners, and nearly didn't remember to shake Lex' hand. Nearly.

She pumped his hand just in the nick of time to remain in the 'politeness time'. "I won? Really? I never won something.. well, I guess you could count my acceptance to graduate school. I was really late. I mean I only mailed it out because I thought that there was no way that I would be accepted at the time.. Oh."

At that moment Willow realizes he probably doesn't care, and furthermore the tidbit of info on her was not the very best to raise her in Lex' eyes.

"Well, it's the biggest thing I have won.. uh.. recently."
Lex Luthor has posed:
"It's a great honor." Whether Lex is talking about this non-contest or graduate school, who knows. The man is somewhat verbally elusive when it comes to things like that. The grin doesn't fade as he seems to be taken with Willow's excitement. He doesn't even flinch at the last minute shaking of his hand.

"LexCorp would like to thank you for your support and your engagement in our little... experiment." Lex Luthor explains with practiced ease. "We hope to get LEX O/S onto the computers of as many top notch brains the world has to offer." Lex raises a finger to point at Willow. "And it looks like we're starting with yours."

Lex may be laying it on a little thick here but he's definitely just wanting to make sure Willow feels comfortable with all of this. Being at LexCorp Headquarters and meeting Lex Luthor could be overwhelming for some people.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Well.." Willow retrieves her shaking hand. "I guess it would be interesting how it differs from the one that I have on currently. I mean, I could use it for my work until all the user errors were worked up. But that shouldn't be a problem."

Her usage of the computers /and/ magic might be, though. Of course she had some money set aside for a new laptop, and she would have to break it in regardless - a new laptop + new OS sounded more and more feasible as she thought about it.
Lex Luthor has posed:
"That's what I like to hear." Lex Luthor holds up the small LEX O/S USB stick. "Here's the operating system. Install it wherever you want. This is yours to keep forever." The stick is offered. "But you didn't need to come all the way down here for just this, did you?" Lex grins and motions with his other hand towards some LexCorp badge wearing individuals standing nearby.

They shuffle over carrying about four different bags. Some of which seem to be overflowing. "I believe this is what they call swag?" Lex pretends to not know what he's saying with that bit of slang. "As the winner of our little drawing, you also get all of this." The bags are set down on the floor between Lex and Willow. "To be honest, I'm unsure of what all are in these but I'm sure there's a tablet or two, a laptop, a phone, maybe even a Lexicon smart device or two." Lex shrugs a bit. "All we really ask is that you use the LEX O/S and give us some extensive detailed feedback on it. We'd very much like to work out all the bugs before we launch this fall."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Wait.."

Willow cannot believe it. "Isn't someone else coming? *4* Bags of swag?!? **4** "This is all for me? But.."

Willow was the type of person who feels guilty for any amount of good luck. What did she do to deserve it? The stick of the OS was plenty for her. But, not one, not two, but four bags of stuff? The fact that Lex didn't even know what was in the bags should have told her that it meant very little for him - probably a tax writeoff. For her, though, it meant alot.

"Oh, wow! I mean gosh golly! I feel so lucky. And, of course I will send you the date files of error reports." It was the least she could do.
Lex Luthor has posed:
"Thank you very much, Ms. Rosenberg. We look forward to your reports most of all." Lex says this with a little more focus. Almost as if he's up to something else.

"Before you go, I'd like to give you this." Lex reaches into his pocket and comes out with a simple black and purple toned card. There's a small circle on top of it. Lex holds it out towards Willow and a holographic display of Lex Luthor's picture, contact information, etc appears above the small card. He makes it go away in almost the same moment. "My card." Lex explains because of course he has to be that extra that he doesn't just have a normal business card.

"I don't know what your current employment situation is like at the moment." He's lying, he definitely researched that. "But I would like you to know that here at LexCorp we're always looking to hire bright young minds to help us shape the future. If you're ever in the market for saving the world, give me a call. I'm sure we can find something for you to do around here."

Another signature Lex Luthor smile.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow was filled with disbelief. All those gifts.. and a job offer too?

"Oh wow." She held out her hand, and then looks at his card. "I am working for.. well.. it's a bit complicated. XCorp took me on as an intern, and has kept me working for them. I do research for them, and try to match up clientS with appropriate jobs." Among other things.

"Then I work at the Magic Box while the owner is away.. But you knew that." She had figured that much out. "And there is my tutoring at school.." Plus her 'job' with the Scoobies, and the Justice League.. amongst others. "I need to have flexible hours."

What computer genius didn't need flexible hours? Still she was concerned.
Lex Luthor has posed:
"I understand completely. Between you and me?" Lex even takes a moment to look around and over his shoulder at Mercy. As if he's not the boss of all these people. His attention returns to Willow with a bit of a whisper, "I need to keep busy myself."

With that moment of kindred spirit locked in, Lex Luthor returns to his previous plan of action. "Well, Ms. Rosenberg, you give us a call when you're tired of XCorp not using you for all you're worth. I'm sure we can make you an offer that's worth more than your current while." Lex is not above just using money to make sure he gets what he wants.

"But don't you worry about any of that right now. Take your new toys and enjoy yourself. We can always save the world tomorrow." Wink.
