Lois Lane has posed:
What a day.

Evening, really.

That's all Lois Lane can say.

The morning and afternoon were a whirlwind of activity, especially after a certain invitation was received by Lois Lane. She'd have definitely let it drop just what type of invitation she received from Bruce Wayne; first with Perry, then Clark. Now, with the 'date' being over a certain black-haired reporter is making her way back to The Planet. She's still dressed in what she wore to see Bruce Wayne - a deep navy blue, off the shoulder dress, with a mid-length skirt. Not quite too the knee, but nothing scandalously short, either. Matching blue heels give her some added height, and a small blue and white striped clutch is held in her hand.

A quiet DING announces the arrival of an elevator and from that elevator Lois arrives. She already has her phone out and already she's muttering into it, most likely recording everything she can remember from that meeting.

"Call Luthor HQ to obtain a statement on why he wouldn't take a deal with Wayne Industries. Possible conflict between the two? Or perhaps Luthor Industries has their own angle on the space race -" She'll drop her phone partially away from her mouth, as she looks to see who's around, even allowing a quick call out of, "Kent? You still here?"

Superman has posed:
Type of invitation dropped, first by Bruce himself... well, Batman, but Clark knew that was Bruce talking at him from behind the cowl. And then Lois.

It was all Clark could do to smile pleasantly through it, nod, and wish Lois well.

And then Clark finished some drafts, stopped a bank robbery, pulled a van of storm chasers clear of a tornado that veered off more quickly than they had expected, cleaned up the drafts revisions Perry sent him, and was just sending the last one when Lois walks in. Clark wuold recognize that heartbeat anywhere.

It's a tiny smile at hearing the sound so close, so near, and Clark straight up and looks over just as the elevator dings open to admit Lois... in a dress.

Blue, almost to the knee, sensible but beautiful heels. Her voice resolves across his senses when he hears his name.

"Yes? Yes. Yes, I'm here, Lois. How did your date go?" Clark asks, managing to sound as eager to hear the details as he is to see her back this evening and not tomorrow morning in said dress. Clark stands from his desk so he can see over the wall that hid him.

Lois Lane has posed:
The recording option upon her phone will be paused as Lois arrives at her desk, which is so close to Clark's. Seeing him here, she'll offer a quick flash of a smile in greeting, even as she tosses her clutch upon her desktop, and places her phone (far more gently) next to it.

At the mention of date, Lois can't help but look amused. "/Date/. Hardly that." She states wryly, even as she toes off her heels and kicks them beneath her desk with her others. That drops her a few inches, but the look of relief can easily be seen upon her features. She did wear her higher heels, after all. Must look fashionably good, even if crush all the toes.

"But it went well enough." She says, a familiar gleam in her eyes and a certain tone to her voice, which means it really went /good/. "Apparently Wayne Industries was trying to entice Luthor Industries into forming a partnership between the two. To get the people of Earth up into space at a faster pace than what we're going." The corner of her desk will be eyed and she'll silent judge whether she can put her feet up without being too immodest. Deciding it's too much of a risk, Lois instead drops to her chair, a tired sigh leaving her lips with that movement.

"Guess who passed on the offer?" She asks in a completely rhetorical manner. "And don't let me forget to tell Cat first thing tomorrow morning that Bruce /wasn't/ announcing any sort of engagement."

Superman has posed:
Hardly that. Clark's brows lift in measures flicks. Because that is both a blessing and a curse. Blessing: bad date means Bruce didn't get at Lois. Curse: Bad date means Lois is potentiallly upset and Superman will have to have words with Batman. No one wants to have Words with Batman.

And then, bomb. Not in her words, but in her tone of voice: went really good. Clark manages NOT to look crushed.

"...what?" Clark finally has to ask when her words stop parsing. He settles to his chair as she does and rolls over so she can use the edge of his chair or his knee for her feet. His eyes stay on her face.

"Wayne... was trying to entice Luthor.. .into an engageent?" Clark asks, because what Lois was talking about got all convulted tehre for a moment.

Lois Lane has posed:
"Focus, Smallville, focus." Lois says, when he so clearly loses the train of conversation. Her blue-eyes will cut towards the man, even as she leans back in her chair, completely slouching down for comfort.

Who cares that it'll wrinkle her dress. Not like she wears this thing often.

"A partnership." She says slowly, her gaze still amused, as she watches her partner struggle with what she just said. "A business /partnership/. But Luthor said no. Now we have to figure out /why/." And with those words Lois will suddenly straighten up and lean towards her computer. A quick stab of her finger will hit the power button and when the monitor alights, Lois immediately begins to type her password to unlock it. "Doesn't that seem a little odd? What company wouldn't want to get in on the space race? While I would never have guessed it Bruce seems to have really thought this through."

Her head tilts slightly as she spares a glance for Clark, "Who'd have imagined Bruce Wayne being something more than just rich billionaire playboy, right?"

Superman has posed:
Told to focus, Clark blinks back to the moment. There's no mistaking the ooooh look when she clarifies what she meant.

Luthor said no. Bruce had commented that he had some ideas, but what he was referring to got lost when he derailed Clark by saying the words date and Lois in the same sentence.

Focus, Smallville.

"It certainly does, Lois. What were Wayne's theories?" Clark asks, just smiling at Lois' commentary of bruce being anything more. Oh you have no idea, Lois.

Lois Lane has posed:
If he had struggled any longer Lois might have had to snap her fingers in his face; thankfully, Clark pulled it together in time.

Already a browser will be clicked open as Lois starts to type into whatever search engine is at her fingertips. "Eh, he didn't really have too many thoughts on that, honestly." Begins the reporter, as she types into her query, "He mentioned Luthor rambled a bit about lineage, and the Luthor line, but that's about it. Seems a little odd, right?" And if only Lois knew what that smile of Clark's meant; he wouldn't be able to dodge her questions fast enough, even with super speed.

"Tomorrow morning I'm going to give their press department a call and see if I can get a comment from them. It'd be great if I could set up a meeting with Mr. Luthor, but I have my doubts on that actually happening."

But Lois Lane will /try/, yes she will.

"Bruce is going to be in town for a bit, so I offered to show him some of the sights here. This seemed to be his first real visit to Metropolis." Again, if only Lois really knew just /who/ she was talking to.

Superman has posed:
Clark reads waht Lois is typing, leaning forward a bit himself as he nods to her plan. Calling Luthor's press department, comment, this is all good things. And it all remains good until she drops teh sight-seeing Bruce Wayne in his lap.

Clark's chair nearly rolls out from under him.

"Ah... you are? Wow. That's very nice of you, Lois," he replies, because maybe the date went just as good as she had hinted?

Lois Lane has posed:
She's typing Lex Luthor Industries, mostly for the phone numbers and when the website appears Lois will happily click upon the 'contact us'.

Various phone numbers can be found and the reporter jots a few down.

It's only when Clark nearly falls out of his chair that Lois turns, sharply, "Clark!" She says, her tone sharp, more worried than anything, as she reaches out to try and help him if need be. "You okay?" And when it's clear he is okay, well, physically at least, Lois will just shake her head. Seriously Smallville, seriously.

Then it's back to the conversation at hand. "Well, it's the last I could do." Admits Lois, "He dropped a story in my lap and /rented/ the whole restaurant out for just our dinner. Besides, it's just sight-seeing. It's really /not/ a date."

Superman has posed:
Her sharp tone and Clark looks up as she reaches out to help steady him. He smiles at her again, and resettles into his seat.

"Right. Of course," Clark says with a nod, pushing away the lump in his stomach. "He... rented a restaurant?" Wow, Bruce. Really? Clark can only shake his head.

Lois Lane has posed:
"He did." She states, arcing an eyebrow upward, "You know how it is when you're rich." She says with just a hint of derision to her tone of voice.

All those rich fat cats ... they don't always sit well with Lois. Not with everything she's seen.

"But, for what it's worth, he seems pretty altruistic for someone with money." A slant of her mouth curls one corner upward, the expression neither a smile nor a smirk from the woman. "So, partner, what do you say? If we get nothing from Luthor Industries Press Department feel like camping out to potentially pounce someone who /can/ help us?"

Superman has posed:
You know how it is when you're rich. Yes, actually. You build a space station for your campout buddies, and hide in line items of a personal budget. Clark notes the tone of voice, but with her immediately switching to commenting on Bruce's altruism Clark isn't sure what hte tone was.

"Hmm? Ah... sure. We can do that," Clark agrees easily, a warm smile on his face.

"Do you have an idea who yet?"
