Synopsis: AIM decides to save money and just abduct test subjects!
Thanks to: Melter for running!
Cast of Characters: 82, 969, Black Canary, Blink, Gregory Stark, Ahadiel

Melter (82) has posed:
A scenic day in Central Park. The weather is fine and warm, and the central lawn swarms with kids and joggers and people eating lunch or just strolling. Chris and The Enchantress are by an ice cream vendor, getting something cool to eat. Everything else seems perfectly normal and quiet, as things do right before they go sideways....

Enchantress (969) has posed:
The poor ice cream vendor was probably not expecting to get ... persuaded into giving away free ice cream to that nice (if slightly scandalously dressed) young lady and her handsome young man. But the Enchantress is morally opposed to paying for anything, especially when it's just so /easy/ to get people to overlook the need for her to! So she's just getting her Black Raspberry fro-yo sugar cone handed over. It clashes horribly with her outfit, but so what?

Black Canary has posed:
Walking across the park is a woman who draws some looks...it's not every day you see fishnets in Central Park (at least, before nightfall). But Dinah, is trying to get some fresh air, yawning a bit as she rubs her head. Ugh. Do NOT try to outdrink metahuman bouncers Dinah. It never ends well, she thinks to herself. Since it's currently nice she's wearing her black leather jacket open, the leotard underneath easily visible as she pads along, mostly letting her mind wander a bit. After all, it's a nice day. NOTHING COULD GO WRONG.

Blink has posed:
A soft -blink!- heralds the arrival of the purple portaller, thankfully deep in a patch of bushes that she'd memorised for just such a gettaway. Attempting to stay on the 'down low' as it were, the young Genoshan had opted for purple skinny jeans with a deep green hoodie, pulled up to hide as much of the teen's skin as possible. Then of course there's the giant sunglasses and the I <heart> NY baseball cap pulled low. Nope, nothing to see here... Even if her pinky-purple face is still ultimately visible. And was that a soft green glow from behind those shades?

It didn't take her long to push her way out of the shrubbery, and then only minutes more to see the ice cream cart. Everyone loves ice cream, right? Right. Time to get herself a cone!

Gregory Stark has posed:
Speaking of not every day, it's also not every day that you happen to see someone dressed in pure white walking through the park either. It's even more rare to see a group of people all in matching white outfits.

Gregory Stark and a small entourage of identically generic looking individuals. None of them looks even in the slightest like they would stand out from a crowd, only even standing out in this particular moment because they happen to be right next to each other.

One holds firm onto a pure white sun umbrella blocking the light from staining the face of the big man himself walking high on life as he flicks through a folder in his hands. Instead of paper inside there's just a small screen on either side which he can run his fingers down to flip through the contents.

"Which would work better for the region to be perfectly honest with you Leopold." He starts speaking while the other members of his entourage look right ahead taking care of secretarial duties during this quick trip to the park. Something almost unsettling about how well choreographed their motions are to one another. The only one walking out of step happens to be the blonde haired stark.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angels might not need much for sustenance, but that doesn't mean that they don't /want/ any. In this case, Angela is just paying for a fresh hot dog from the nearby cart, slathering some ketchup and mustard on the dog as she looks around, a bit of a smile on her lips as she enjoys being outside. Her eyes flicker around a bit as she starts walking away from the cart, moving over towards a park bench so she can sit down and eat her hot dog in relative peace. Though she does give Blink an odd look as she passes... probably more for wearing a hoodie in this weather than anything else.

Melter (82) has posed:
Amid this pastoral scene, suddenly the grass and trees begin to shiver, then skirts and shirts are blown about as a wind suddenly picks up out of nowhere. A thundering sound, and then two large transports uncloak a few yards above the greensward, their turbofans powering down as they land. The sides open up and a dozen AIM soldiers each pour out and begin to shoot people with white beams of light - people struck collapse and fall, but there is no blood to be seen. As people scream and run, the first group of riflemen advance, while behind them beekeeper-suited workers try to take away any kids or teens they find, dragging or carrying them back to the transport. The leaders seem to want this over with quickly - a smash and grab operation, as it were.

Melter drops his vanilla bean cone and steps in front of The Enchantress to take a look at the soldiers, and he clenches one hand. A nearby beekeeper's rifle suddenly runs like wax, dripping onto the grass.

Enchantress (969) has posed:
This wasn't what the Enchantress had in mind when she came out to the park! Far from it. But the heroic life is one of sudden and unexpected danger! Guys in dorky yellow suits with ray guns can attack at any time, not just when one is prepared for them! And fortunately, there's someone nearby who has the right reflexes for a situation like this. "Beware!" she calls out, making a mystical gesture to keep the Melter's dropped cone from hitting the asphalt, and, instead, levitating up to her hand. Wasting good ice cream, now /that's/ a crime.

"They hath brought some form of stun-gun!" After which, she conjures a green-hued, transparent mystic shield in front of the Melter, perfect for blocking energy beams. And it protects the ice cream vendor, too! Which is /totally/ on purpose and not at all an accidental by-product. Honest.

Black Canary has posed:
Canary pauses at the sudden roar of engines, spinning around. DAMMIT Dinah! She should KNOW better than to even think things like that! She breaks into a run, pelting towards the nearest group of soldiers, her eyes pumping as she tries to close on them before they can get a bead on her with those rifles. Can't Cry here...too many civilians. Instead, she dives into a roll as the nearest AIM troopers register and open fire, sliding under the bolts as she smoothly sweeps one of them off his feet to land heavily on the sidewalk.

Blink has posed:
Cloaked airships!? This is /exactly/ why Victor told her never to leave Genosha without permission... Because then she'd never get to have any /fun/! Blink's already whipping hood back and tossing her cap to a nearby kid as the first guys jump down onto the park grounds.

Throwing a hand forward as she breaks into a run, a soft -blink blink-! heralds the displacing of atoms a tear ripping in front of one group just as they release a volley of beams - only to have the same bolts slam into them from behind! The purple pixie crows! "Score one the good guys!"

Gregory Stark has posed:
The group pauses in their walk, with Gregory stopping mid sentence to rub the bridge of his nose with that pure white glove of his for a single moment. "You'll have to excuse me Leopold, it seems the daily terror attack is taking place." Spoken in a fairly calm voice as he looks over trying to remain calm in the face of electrical attacks, which for once is something that could really hurt him.

Moving as a unit that entourage of Gregory's moves and shifts into a formation of a sort of human shield while Greg ducks his head. Keeping low to the ground Gregory makes his move for cover using his bodyguards as a form of quick cover.

Once safely behind a nearby tree Gregory puts in a quick call over shield Frequencies that AIM has decided to attack the park. Honestly what they're attacking for is anyone's guess, but while he sends the message two of the people who'd been protecting Gregory make a run for the pure white car parked at the edge of the park while the rest of the group move over to give him cover.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blinks at the sudden arrival of the airships and the troopers trying to stun people... then looks down at her hot dog. Back to the troopers, then to the hot dog. She then mutters something about New York as she takes a quick bite from the dog, before looking at the nearest trooper...

... who is probably surprised at the sight of a hot dog flying towards him. However, it hits with considerably more force than one might think, knocking him to the ground as Angela runs up after the pitched weiner, crouching down to give him a quick jab to his temple to knock him out. Then she picks up the downed trooper's energy rifle whatsit, studying it for a moment before she takes aim at the nearest group.

Melter (82) has posed:
AIM riflemen swarm out of the carriers, shooting people on the greensward and then moving on. A second group behind them, though, are picking up kids and teens of both sexes, and hauling them towards the open side bay doors of the tranports. Guns from the transports pop out and begin to track potential problems -- a couple of cops get ray-gunned, sent to dreamland in the same way, it appears, as the others. This must be a particularly 'soft' operation, then, thankfully for them.

Canary's opponents are taken by surprise; the one she legsweeps goes down, scrambling to get his rifle again. The man next to him tries turning his rifle on Canary, shooting beams of light at her. Fearful of their commanders, the other beekeepers around her continue to fire into the retreating crowd of people, picking off ones and twos as they can.

Enchantress's shield blocks a couple of the beams - one of which was targeted directly at Melter, the other apparently aimed behind her. Two men break off upon seeing the shield and concentrate fire on it, ineffectually as their commanders scream at them from the safety of the transports. One of the transport heavy guns begins to rotate in the direction of the shield.

Some of the parkgoers see the brilliant green shield and dive behind it! "Oh thank goodness you're here!" says one of them.

Blink's diversion does it's job! It certainly confuses matters. The beekeepers hit by their own fire don't go down like the parkgoers, but they do stagger a little, and some have the presense of mind to send beams of energy her way. Others groan and grouse as they try to re-aim. Two of the heavier guns on the transport begin to track Blink, and look ready to fire at any second.

The troopers ignore the retreating men in white - not on their list. They continue to fire at running parkgoers, still advancing as other move in to take selected people back to the transport.

"What, AIMCOMM we have an inbound... hot dosssssskkkt!" comes over the troopers radio.

Now Angela has a rifle. Ho. Ho. Ho.

Melter (82) has posed:
Melter himself takes time to look around and target another single rifleman getting close - again, the rifle droops like it's made of butter.

Enchantress (969) has posed:
For the time being the Enchantress is focusing more on protecting herself and the Melter than she is on doing anything on offense. That, and not losing track of the ice cream cones: she steals a lick from her fro-yo while the AIM gunners pew-pew ineffectually against her shield. But the heavy gun turning in their direction is a whole different story. Maybe she can stop it, maybe not. No sense taking the risk, though. "Prepare thyself!" she says hastily; "we art moving out of thyth ... the ... out of their line of fire!" And with that the pair are abruptly on the opposite side of that AIM transport! Safe until it can manage to rotate back toward them again.

Of course, this means the people who were previously sheltering behind her emerald shield are kind of out of luck. Doubly so with the heavy guns warming up. Whoops!

Black Canary has posed:
It's a smooth, graceful transition, strength in motion as Black Canary recovers from the sweep, pushing off from her planted foot from the crouch as she lunges at the trooper trying to aim to her. Her right hand is already coming up, cupping the barrel as it becomes an Akido style disarm, a hard open palm snapping into the man's chin as she spins, ripping it out of his suddenly nerveless hand then slamming it into the side of his head.

She's in the middle of it now, in her element, a pure on brawl as she whips the rifle at the next trooper in line, ducking low to avoid his return shot, then exploding forward from the crouched position as she brings up her leg in a quick pair of vicious Muy Thai kicks into his side, doubling him over. She spares a quick glance for the other people coming out of the woodwork to defend against the attack, her tactical training taking over. "Keep them from getting those people on the shuttles!" she yells, putting a little extra volume to her voice for everyone to hear. She's not quite to where she can get at those workers, but she's making a beeline towards the AIM drones trying to drag the teens and kids off...pun intended. "Separate them from the kids!"

Blink has posed:
And it's all hit the preverbial fan in short order. "Well Blink, first death on the battlefield is always the-/crap!/-the plan!" Talking to herself is probably not the best tactic, especially as she has to fall into a quick forward roll to avoid a well aimed shot from one of the nearly countless AIM bodies.

"Two? Pour Moi?" The mutant's soft Bahamian accent purs out the answer as unbenknownst to the shuttle gunners, small rifts appear before each of the turrents. A gaze flicked to the side reveals the now defenceless folk in that direction too. As guns begin to let rip, turbine engines start to explode, portals flicking open and closed so that each shuttle gets it's fair share... But it's not enough, Blink can't be /everywhere/ and that other turret previously aimed at the shield is still cycling up...

Gregory Stark has posed:
While his crew do their best to usher him to safety, Gregory instead decides to do something decidedly stupid, play the hero.

Having seen he's not actually a target of the beekeepers, nor his little technical marvels he'd been escorting he's got a bit more confidence to cause a little disturbance. Reflective glasses scan across the ship as Gregory keeps his head low moving quietly and quickly closer. If he can only find a weak spot he might be able to destabilize the ship enough that it can't properly fly allowing him to do a good deed for the day, get some more personal information on AIM technology, and look good for the papers while he's at it.

He's walking fast as he can while keeping low a quick send off on his wrist watch all it takes for his friends to go moving off out of the combat zone that's developed.

Ahadiel has posed:
Through analysis of thousands of gunfights, one can determine that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element.

And Angela has been in thousands, at least, as she seems to know exactly where to stand or duck when shots start coming towards her. She fires a few random shots at the AIM marauders to keep them honest, then she notices the turret starting to power up, aiming at the civilians that were hiding behind the shield... that isn't there any longer.

Which is when fire seems to engulf Angela, a brilliant crimson flame that soon passes, leaving the woman standing there in armor and... black feathered wings? Spreading her wings, the angel soars up quickly, stuffing the purloined energy rifle into the charging turret, then darting away from what's sure to be a rather explosive reaction to the improvised sabotage.

Melter (82) has posed:
A heavy gun goes off and the red beam is blocked by a rifle jammed in the barrel - BOOM - and chunks of turret gun impact on the green. The people by the ice cream stand scatter away, and some are picked off by AIM troopers but most escape into the bushes. The heavy guns tracking Blink power up and fire, only to see their beams reflected back through portals onto the turbofans! Explosions and mayhem ensues!

Well, that changes things big-time for the boys in yellow.

The transports are clearly never getting airborne again, and now the commanders inside the transport bays take to the feild, dressed in heavier armor and carrying bigger guns. The troops break off from randomly firing at parkgoers and begin to specifically target the people in and amongst them who are trying to subdue or otherwise thwart their mission.

Melter takes a risk, flushed and sweating in confusion, as he stretches his arm out and clenches his fist. One of the transport heavy guns sags inward like a deflating balloon, muffled cries coming from the now-trapped gunners frantically trying to get their heads above 'water'.

Canary scythes through the confused troopers areound her, the beekeepers turning now away from gathering more people to pay attention to the hornet among them. White stun beams crisscross the area where she's fighting, hoping to clip her and add her to the collection. Some of the yellow-suited men still gathering designated targets look up as Canary specifically calls them out. Ut oh!

A couple of the white beams find Gregory's entourage, the AIM troopers not really noticing as the beams slid harmlessly off the Men In White. Gregory, in the meantime, can now detect severe stress fracturing in both transports since Blink blew off at least one turbofan on each vessel. Several systems are compromised.

Enchantress (969) has posed:
"Thou hast done it!" exclaims the Enchantress with glee, as the transport gun begins to melt. Concern for the soldiers inside the transport apparently does not enter her mind. As a pair of AIM troopers move toward the duo, rifles raised, the green-clad sorceress pivots on her heel and does something that makes it look like she's throwing up the horns with her right hand. Turns out this is MAGIC. At least, that's the impression one might logically draw from watching the two AIM troopers transmogrify into frogs a moment later. And she still hasn't dropped her ice cream.

Black Canary has posed:
The woman in the black jacket twists, throwing herself forwards as she begins to draw a good amount of the fire. A few shots skim past her as she narrowly avoids them, throwing forards, then coming up wtih a pure dirty trick, her knee snapping up into an unfortunate trooper's crotch as he doubles over, letting out a wheeze. "You mean you guys STILL haven't installed cups?" As the man starts to crumple she pushes herself up, getting a boot onto the man as she shoves off to leap at the bee keepers, her left foot coming down on one's shoulder, then her right on the next, flipping to kick out with both into the third as she rides him into the ground. "Excuse me, coming through!" She's making straight for the transport with the kids still aboard, though as she sees the turret guns rotating to bear on the others, she inhales, then:

    SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

A wave of ultrasonic sound rips into the gun, trying to dismount it, or at least throw off its aim

Of course, this means she has to take her eyes off the more heavily armored commander stepping out of the transport...

Blink has posed:
...And straight into a portal that hadn't been there scant moments before. Heavy armour wasn't built to tilt, and down the poor commander goes... Straight out of the sky, some several hundred feet directly above those still spinning turbines. It's a cocky move, over the top even. Perfect for making a statement.

The grin on the purple mutant's face is rictus, kidnapping and slavery being intimately personal with the teen. Two beams come perilously close to tagging her as she jinks left, pushing up and off into a backflip along with two crystal shards, softly glowing and flying through the air to hit two of the beekeepers - who then just cease to be where they were (having appeared deep off a reef near Genosha's shore)...

And /still/ more remain, turning into knotted groups as the attack starts to go defensive...

Ahadiel has posed:
Ahadiel, now free of her mortal seeming, catches a rather large fragment from the turret she helped explode. Then she spins and flies to the last turret, jamming it into the barrel before flying away, winging upwards and hovering in the air as she shouts, her voice ringing like a wrathful melody throughout the park, "BY THE NAME, YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED AND FOUND WANTING. KIDNAPPERS. SURRENDER, NOW!"

While she doesn't have the ability to mind control or compel people... the sheer intimidation factor of an Angel of Vengeance looking angrily hovering in the center of the park should not be dismissed out of hand.

Melter (82) has posed:
"Whoa," says Melter as one of the guns blow, then the turbofans blow up, then another gun blows, and there is smoke and fire and chaos about. He takes a bite from his ice cream and considers a move, safe behind Enchantress' shield. Then he swallows and clenches his fists. Historically, that's a bad sign. He concentrates on the bucking-broncho that is his power, and he then unfurls his fists slowly as he tries, tries to control it. The front end of one transport begins to sweat metal, then run like slow syrup. Chris makes a choking sound and goes to his knees as the front end of one transport continues to collapse like a balloon with a slow leak. The boy dabs a nosebleed as a half-dozen yellow-clad non-coms pile out of the doors, running confused, as liquified metal dribbles off their uniforms.

The frogification of a couple troopers throws the others around them into a panic. That just happened. So they start firing blindly at any moving target, including staggering a few of their own men.

The commanders move towards Canary and Blink, heavy guns coming up and firing something definatly not meant to be stunning. They concentrate fire on the two heroines, hoping to take them down quickly, to make a hole so they might have some chance of escaping this debacle. One vanishes, re-appearing over one of the remaining turbofans. Blowing-up, fire, and more mayhem ensure as the heavily-armored commander is flung a hundred feet out into the trees. THUNK! BU-BLLAAMM!! The second turbofan explodes, leaving one transport with one fan that even now is powering down, because it's useless.

The sheer presence of Ahadiel is intimidating, but these are Men of SCIENCE, not to be coweed by mutants who look like supersticious icons - several blast of white stun-gun fire track to Ahadiel and try to bring her down. A few of the men, though, drop weapons and hold up hands. They see where this is going and AIM does not have great medical insurance. Who knew?

Enchantress (969) has posed:
There's still threats present, including some pretty big ones, but the Enchantress's attention is torn away from the ongoing battle by the Melter's obvious distress. She drops to one knee beside him, worried, and dabs some blood away from his nose. "Thou art too brave for thine own good, I fear," she says, worriedly. "But thy efforts have not been in vain. Worry not, the wicked fleeth before our might!"

And then she looks up toward the battle again. Her expression suggests that this is very, very bad news for someone. Worse luck for one of the heavily armored commanders who happens to be the first to catch her eye, as great chunks of his armor begin turning into multicolored helium balloons and immediately fleeing for the sky.

Black Canary has posed:
The blonde bombshell shoots a quick grin at Blink as the first commander vanishes into the portal. "Nice!" She might feel a little guilty about him dropping into the fan later, but, hey, that's really good armor, right? He'll be fiiiiiiine! She jukes and weaves as the energy bolts from the remaining commanders larger weapon blows craters into the ground around her, then lunges past him, reaching up to grab hold of one of the cables running from his armor to the weapon as she uses it as a handle to turn the motion into a flip up. A quick scissors and she slams into him, kneels on either side of his head as the full weight of her body comes down on his head as she rides him into the ground with a crash. "Got him?!" she tosses to Blink as she completes the motion to roll clear!

Blink has posed:
"Alonzi!" Grass ceases to be as the portal cracks open beneath the poor commander. There's no guilt in the mutant's mind, these guys were no better than /slavers/. The last remaining turbine got it's meal of hurtling commander shortly thereafter. Though a charred smell lets Blink know she's getting /too/ cocky as the commander's parting gift removes some of her magenta hair.

"Need to thin the herd if you can Miss Bird!" The wannabe superheroine quips as more crystal shards appear from thin air into her hands, and thence flung off to two more guards (their own sudden fall being from a paltry sixty feet up, onto the grass) become non-combantants through /improved/ negotiation techniques. "Before someone gets /hurt/!" By way of explanation.

Ahadiel has posed:
Ahadiel gives Blink a look, her amber eyes glowing as apparently 'Miss Bird' isn't a proper form of address. Then she soars down, grabbing the balloons from the commander that had his armor transfigurated. Moving rapidly to stay ahead of the blaster bolts, she then winds up in the middle of the remaining troopers, suddenly spinning around with the mass of balloons in her grip...

which appear to do significant damage, as the whirling dervish attack proves surprisingly effective as the balloons impact the AIM troops as if they were made of steel instead of helium and rubber.

Melter (82) has posed:
The balloon-animal armor of one commander drifts away, leaving him in Spongebob underear, until Ahadiel rips them out of the sky and returns to use them as weapons. Canary takes down a second one, hoses spewing coolant as his rifle goes offline, and he struggles to punch Canary from his prone position but his armor is now too heavy for him to move without the hydraulic assist. The last commander is dropped into the last turbine, which explodes and drops him to the burning grass, unmoving. Seeing the last of the much more capable commanders taken out, the rest of the gunmen drop their weapons and begin to raise their hands. The one transport's nose continues to melt, slowly oozing into a flattened slurry of wires and bits. The Men In White slowly melt back into the crowd scene forming. Nothing to see here.

Black Canary has posed:
Black Canary straightens from her crouch as she watches the other halpless commander disappear. "Nice job." the blonde fighter says to Blink as she straightens, watching the crystals go flying past as she jogs towards her. "Right...wait, let me just, ah..." She pauses, then pops her index finger in her mouth, before reaching out to gently pinch off a smoldering tip of Blink's hair before it has time to reignite, a little hiss coming from the flame going out. "There..."

She keeps walking past, then stops hands on her hips. Transports down and disabled, commanders gone, most of the armed soldiers rapidly going down. Good time to make sure they understand teh drill, she figures, before she increases the volume of her voice as it carries over the battlefield.

"HEY! ALL OF YOU IN FAVOR OF *NOT* GETTING DROPPED IN TURBINES, TURNED INTO FROGS, HAVING THEIR GEAR MELTED, HAVING YOUR BONES BROKEN IN THIRTEEN PLACES OR WHATEVER THE SCARY WINGED PERSON UP THERE IS GOING TO DO NEXT..." She winces as the last commander lets out a yell as he's suddenly balloonless and plumments to hit with a dull WHUMP. "...RAISE BOTH HANDS AND STAND STILL WHERE YOU ARE UNTIL SOMEONE COMES TO COLLECT YOU!" She purses her lips as most are already in the process of doing so, then points. "AND NO, YOU DON'T GET TO KEEP HOLDING YOUR WEAPON, DROP THAT RIGHT THIS MINUTE BUDDY." Now they just need the cops to pick them up...and from the sirens approaching, they're not far off, likely with SHIELD enroute as well.
She looks back at Blink, then grins at her. "Nice moves there. Handy talent." She looks thoughfully at the other arrayed powered types who intervened. Well. That could have gone worse.

Melter (82) has posed:
Melter staggers to his feet, ice-cream still intact, and takes another bite. "Whew," he says, having to lean on the Enchantress for a second. Dizzy doesn't describe it. "That.. whew.." he mutters.

Enchantress (969) has posed:
Fortunately, any further thoughts of vengeance flee from the Enchantress at once. She supports Chris as long as he needs her too, studying him with no less concern. "We shouldst take you to a hospital," she suggests, having momentarily forgotten her own ice-cream cone. And after all that trouble she went to! "Thou mightest be seriously hurt."

Ahadiel has posed:
Ahadiel flies over, once everyone has surrendered, and lands near Dinah and Blink. She looks over at Blink, and offers her a balloon animal, "Here. I no longer have need of it." Her voice is less wrathful, but it sounds like music when she speaks nonetheless, her amber eyes flickering around to make sure no villains have escaped, before she notes, "You both did good work there." No judgment of tossing commanders into turbines, even.

Blink has posed:
The praise causes the young mutant to flush a softly darker shade of plumb, though her grin is ever-present. "Not too bad yourself Miss Canary." She grins, beginning to walk backwards. "But I'd better be getting home, before I have someone very angry on the phone... You know?" A wave of her hand creates a -blink!- with accompanying portal - through which a sunny beach can be seen.

The teen pauses just for a moment to snag the baloon animal from the Holy Avenger, flashing the woman a grin. "No offence meant earlier, heat of the battle and stuff. Nice wings, by the way." And then she's on again, moving to step through the softly glowing portal.

"Wanna know the worst thing about all this?" She gestures to the poor people only now beginning to come too, the scorched earth, battered commanders and totalled aircraft. The purple Cheshire adds a wink to her grin. "I didn't even get my ice cream! Ciao!" Stepping through, the portal -blinks!- shut. For all the world like she'd never even been there. Now... If only she didn't make it onto the news, maybe Victor need never even know...

Black Canary has posed:
Black Canary nods to the angelic touches down. "Part of the job..." she murmurs amusedly, watching as the cops and a SHIELD contingent arrive to start taking the AIM types into custody. As Blink opens the portal and says her goodbyes, she quickly slides her hand in a pocket, then flicks a JLA card through after her. "Next cone's on me when you're in town!" she calls cheerfuly after her. Hey, the kid has talent. Plenty of JLA'ers without that level of power, too.

Melter (82) has posed:
Melter certainly does not look very good and while he tries to blow this off as nothing, he coughs and then sits down on a bench very heavily. "That.. might not be a bad idea.." he says, skin pale, eyes wide.
