Date of Scene: 19 July 2017
Location: Metropolis
Synopsis: Traci talks to Paisley about being nervous about getting into Doctor Strange's school.
Cast of Characters: Traci 13, 267

Traci 13 has posed:
Traci had, the last few days, been studying the books that she had even more thoroughly than usual. And, moving around Metropolis at a rather hurried pace, here and there. Sometimes taking Paisley with her, sometimes not. She'd been looking for the Odd Men. Trying to figure out who -- and what -- they were. She was not having much success. Couple that with her not-yet achieved interview with Doctor Strange, and, well, Traci had been entirely pre-occupied with quite a bit.
This meant, of course, she wasn't sleeping a lot. That she was eating, while reading, and often distracted. Not that she didn't make time for Paisley, or remember the girl was around. She certainly did. But now? Now there were obstacles when before there were none. Challenges.
"I just don't get it," she mutters to herself, and, perhaps also to Paisley whose nearly heard the same thing several times now, "I just don't get how he's pulling it off." Several spellbooks are splayed in front of her, as she sits on the floor, frowning.

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Pulling what off?" Paisley asks, not for the first time. She sits up right behind Traci on her knees, leaning gainst her back and resting her arms across the taller girl's shoulders. White hair frames both of them in this postion, Paisley having let it grow out even further until it is long enough to nearly brush the small of her back.
"What are you seeing...?" Paisley takes the opportunity to use her angle and look down at what Traci is reading, studying the books intently. She has a knack for translating magic but a lot of what Traci has been into recently doesn't seem to have worked for her. At least she has to work at it.
"I've been trying to figure them out too- that spell I sued. TO destroy the one..." Pais shakes her head. "Seriiously not safe."

Traci 13 has posed:
Traci pauses, to look over her shoulder, sidelong to Paisley, "Do you even realize how much magic he has to be outputting to be able to do half the things he's doing? Core possession. Augmentation. Complete control on a multiple level. And, the fact he's - well, I couldn't feel him around. Didn't see him. Which means he's even able to do all of this -remotely-. Likely through some kind of scrying spell, or artifact. It's insane."
She exhales, and points a finger at Paisley, "And yes. Seriously not safe. Don't do that again."

Paisley (267) has posed:
"I mean, fifty fifty the guy gets blown up. Bettrer than letting that thing consume him," Paisley responds defensively. That doesn't mean she won't obey, of course. The question is already closed. SO instead the small Fae nods and breathes a soft sigh, leaning her weight into Traci's back a bit more firmly.
"TSo he's really powerful. You know exactly who?" Pais asks then, tiltign her head slightly. "Could it actually be multiple people. Or preprepared magic imbued into something? Did he summon any assistance anywhere....?" She pauses. "Too many question marks."

Traci 13 has posed:
"Way too many question marks," Traci agrees, giving off one of her more common frutrated sighs. "And, no sign of him, or the magic, since. At least, not in Metropolis. What's more, nothing in the papers. Nothing about the missing people. Nothing about those weird guys. It's like none of it ever happened. Even the guy we saved didn't know what to tell the police." She shakes her head, exasperated, and leans back into Paisley some.
"Maybe Doctor Strange will have an answer. If I ever get to see him." Which, of course she well. Just, when the chips are down, right? "I'm going to go back to New York tomorrow, and try to call on his mansion again. Diligence has to pay off sometime, yeah?"

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Maybe. Maybe we don't need him," Paisley responds, shaking her head as she does. "if the guy isn't even going to see you what good is he? No matter how awesome he is isn't worth all of that." Traci leans back into Paisley and the smaller girl's arms wrap around her girlfriend's abdomen, tugging her close.
"We'll solve this, one way or another." Paisley tilts her head slightly and then takes a deep breath, closing her eyes as she leans her head all the way back.

Traci 13 has posed:
"Because he's the Sorcerer Supreme, not - just one guy," Traci says, quietly. She considers, "He's doesn't just have the largets arcane and occult library in the world. He has the most knowledge. Paisley, it's not a matter of needing him. It's a matter of wanting to be better than what I am. To be the best I can. To - find out what happened to my mother, in part. But because to understand magic is to understand myself. I want to be the best Traci I can be."
She sighs, warmly. Leans to take one of Paisley's hands in hers.

Paisley (267) has posed:
"If he's that important to getting done what you need we'll just have to find a way to make him talk to us," Paisley responds slowly. She shakes her head and takes a deep breath, leaning in to plant a kiss on Traci's jaw. Her ifngers lace with the larger girl's when she reaches back.
"You're going to be os much more than you even think you are," Paisley assures in a whisper. "More than you think is possible. I've already seen it- in your future. All you need, Mistress, is to find another step to take. If he's the next step we'll make it happen."

Traci 13 has posed:
"Yeah?" The news of her possible future, real, or fabricated by Paisley is enough to make Traci smile a little bit. "Well. I'm not going to get much more out of these, anyways." She sighs, and begins to close the four or five books spread out around her up. "And there's time to find those steps, I suppose." She grimaces, "Too bad we ate all the ice cream."

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Well... I did kind of hide an extra tub of ice cream in the back of the freezer for a special occasion," Paisley responds to this, shrugging slowly. "I guess I could part with it. Maybe. On second thought, you'll have to make me." Paisley is grinning as she speaks, her slender fingers sliding down Traci's arms and then moving to caress the womans' sides. "Maybe I should go get a bowl right now."

Traci 13 has posed:
Traci grins, "I could make you. I could make you do a lot a things," she agrees, warmly. "But, not tonight. Tonight, I think we should clear my mind. I need a distraction." She adds, before Paisley can say anything, "A mental distraction. So. You hexed that guy. Pretty good. And took something back. I mean, it really nearly knocked you out. But you did something pretty amazing."
She frowns, thoughtfully. "You said you wanted to find out more about your Grandmother. More about you. And, what you can do. Do you think you're ready?"

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Think so. I think... I need to ask her to teach me. Like she said," Paisley responds softly, shifting her weight slightly against Tracie's back as she does.
"More and more, I keep feeling like I have to to use it. Want to do new and interesting things, or just- throw out a curse or a hex. When i am annoyeod r ocnfused especially." Paisley closes her eyes and breathes a soft sigh. "Looks like no one has this down on paper. So..."

Traci 13 has posed:
"My guess? She'll offer to teach you if you come to her. Return. She seemed to want you to go to her rather a lot." Traci frowns, but still thoughtful. "I don't know, though. But, we can try, soon, if you'd like. I suppose the best way is to figure it out. Try. Otherwise it'll just hover over us, like a cloud. Best to get it out of the way. Like pulling wax off your leg," she teases, jokingly. "Fast, rather than slowly."

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Yeah. And she'll try to get me to stay but all I have to do is not- trip up. No thanks offered, no promises..." Paisley shakes her head slowly and squeezes Traci a little more rtightly. "Yeah. We'll try soon and see what happens. It should be okay, right?" She blinks a couple of times. "I'm not going with her. I'm not."

Traci 13 has posed:
"We'll need to make sure we have a way through the dimension. Back home." Because, clearly, Traci is going -with- Paisley. "But, we'll be on their home turf. And my powers will be - not nearly what they are here, in Metropolis. Not unless there's some huge Fae City there, or something. Even then I'm not certain." She frowns. There's a lot of unknown factors, there. "That's just another part of why I want to be mentored by Doctor Strange. That library will have many of these answers. So may he. And if it all works out? I'll introduce you to him."

Paisley (267) has posed:
"Okay..." Paisley agrees softly, nodding. She withdraws froM Traci as carefully as possible, untangling her limbs from around the girl as she shifts herself back. "Why am I letting you meet this strange guy without me agian?" She asks seriously.
Paisley is a bitirritated, pehraps, and she scowls as she hops easily to her feet and wanders into the kitchen. The freezer opens and then the girl produces a pint container. A spoon is pulled out of the draw. Then she turns and makes her way back to Traci to offer her her own pint-sized container of Rocky Road. As promised.

Traci 13 has posed:
"Because he's fantastic? And, if I'm going to get as good as you say I'm going to get, I'm going to need his guidance to do it. I can't learn everything on my own, Paisley," Traci says, gently. "Kind of like you need your grandmother to show you a few things? Yeah. I need the same thing. I've figured a /lot/ out. All on my own. But." She shakes her head, "That well has nearly run dry."

Paisley (267) has posed:
"That doesn't explain why I'm not coming with," Paisley responds impatiently. "Come on. Take your ice cream," she snaps, stills cowling when she does so. After that the young Fae takes a deep, long breath and holds it for several seconds. Regardless of Traci's reply.

Traci 13 has posed:
Traci looks up, "Because it's rude to show up on a doorstep with a Grand Master when you're not even sure -you're- going to get in with a guest whom you can't announce before hand you're brining?" She reaches out a hand to cup Paisley's cheek, "But I will tell him about you. And ask." THen, and only then, does she eat her ice cream.
