A Bat That Is Not A Bat & The Girl That Met Her
Date of Scene: 23 July 2017
Location: Gotham City
Synopsis: Batgirl meets Batwoman. Crime is stopped.
Cast of Characters: Batgirl (Cain), Batwoman

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
It was the night after Nightwing had come home, beaten, and half-broken. Batgirl had watched Alfred patch Nightwing up, and she'd decided to move out the following evening instead of returning to the Hall of Justice to learn with Wonder Woman about how to be more like 'people'.
No. She wanted vengence. She wanted to find the people - the things - that had hurt Nightwing. And hurt them back. So she dances across rooftops, moving here, there, soaring around Gotham with her grappling hook. And she'd followed a group of men who she recognized as having ill intent to the Docks where now she crouches at the edge of one of the warehouses. Watching. Waiting, for her time to strike. Reading the body language, more than listening to the voices as they talk rapidly in Mandarin about moving more drugs into Gotham, and negociate a price for the transaction with the other gang that seems as if they are delivering the goods.
The crates are too big for just drugs, though. It's probable there are firearms, also.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman took a much more leisurely approach to getting here. She's been spending a lot of time with Huntress lately and the more they work together the more the Crimson Hellbat has been stalking the mob families through the city streets. Tonight there's a deal going down at the docks. One of the major capos is behind it, Two Fingers Tony. Right now Kate is watching them passively from a rooftop, the magnification in her mask turned up to maximum so that she can read their lips from a distance. Easier than trying to drop a bug in the middle of the docks on a bad night.
A dark spectre looms on the tallest building near this area of the docks. With her cloak furled its crimson underbelly isn't looming, leaving the only sign of Batwoman's presence that might be visible from a distance the splash of bat-shaped crimson across her chest like an open wound. It's that, the red knee high boots, and the red gloves that give her her latest nickname. That and the long, vivid red tresses that frame her shoulders.
Even with all of this Batwoman is still just a wraith. A ghost that is haunting the rooftops. Not for the last time Kate stops and checks to be sure that her customized matte black M1911A2 pistol is loaded properly and won't jam.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Batgirl does not see Batwoman, at first. The other female moves in silence too well, and knows how to obscure herself like a true Bat. Slowly, the nearly entirely black figure moves to a better position, before she drops down, soundlessly, to the floor of the warehouse. Then she is moving, a black small shadow, deeper than the others that someone from Batwoman's vantage might see. She moves up on one individual, a guard. And with an immediate leg sweep and punch to the face as the man goes down, one guard is out, unconcious. The caped figure, smaller than Batman, certainly knows what she is doing. She moves slowly towards the next guard standing watch over the warehouse, opposite the first, sneaking in the darkness. A batarang later, and the other guard, too, is down. Batgirl picks up the batarang, and takes a new position.

Batwoman has posed:
Rather than interrupt Batgirl's work Kate moves to the edge of her building. She takes a deep breath, snaps her arms open in a brisk motion that unfurls a sea of crimson fabric behind her and leaps. Batwoman's cape billows outward, marking her presence on the night sky. She didn't get a running start so she's dropping fast... Which is pretty much the point. That long descending arc has he woman coming to alight upon the top of a warehouse overlooking that section of the dock. Thump. It's barely a noise but Batgirl might make it out as something unusual regardless. It's at that moment Batwoman is most vulnerable, when she first lands and has to reorient herself on her surroundings.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
The gang members seem to come to some kind of agreement, after checking out the crates. Money is ecxhanged - or, what can be presumed to be money, by the briefcase as it's exchanged for a large, black, athletic bag. Batgirl and Batwoman both see all of this, as Batwoman reorients herself. They have not yet caught onto the presence of the two infiltrators amongst them.
The men shake hands, and one crate remains out, while a van backs up to load the rest of them up. For the present, everything seems to go smoothly, according to them. At least until one of them sees the first guard down, and hollers. Guns are raised; some with pistols, some with semi-automatics, and who can only be the leader of the gang draws out a sword from a hidden sheath. Two Fingers Tony reaches into one of the boxes, and pulls out a military grade gun that Kate may recognize as having armor piercing rounds. The sort of gun that could go through a tank, let alone any armor Batman, or Batwoman could fabricate.

Batwoman has posed:
"..." Kate watches as the XM500, a sleek bullpup rifle firing fifty caliber sniper rounds designed for taking down armored vehicles and winces internally. She clutches the edge of the rooftop and waits, lightly crouched, as the shouting happens and gang members run for their posts. Swords, pistols... None of that matters right now. In this instant it's just her and Tommy Two Fingers.
Batwoman waits until the gang members advance before making her move. She runs along the edge of the roof and then throws down a couple of batarangs at Tommy Two Fingers. They explode into clouds of red tinged smoke. The kind that burns the eyes and the lungs. Then Batwoman leaps and her cape furls out behind her as she launches into a staggering flying kick right at Tommy Two Fingers and his oversized rifle.
Cassandra might recognize the smoke. She'll at least recognise the batarangs.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Batgirl hisses an exclimation of breath from her lips that's barely heard, as the gunfire goes off, rapidly aiming at Batwoman. Low to the ground as she can, arms splayed out, the Batgirl runs zig-zagging up towards the distracted men, and the real fight begins.
She's already on the second man, before the first even hits the ground, a couple of nerve strikes to his back renders his upper body and lower half utterly unmovable, paralazyed -- for a time. The second man is, in the meantime, the benefactor of a kick to the back of the head as Batgirl spins and pivots on her anchored leg, still behind the first gangster that is going down.
That's two mooks taken care of.
One of those shots from Tommy Two Fingers hits about four inches away from Batwoman's chest, tearing a hole through the solid-steel wall as if it were butter, but Tommy can't see at all, and he's firing blind into the smoke, and then he's coughing and moving back out of it, or trying to, while one of the guards with him crumples, inert, to the floor.
Batgirl has never seen, let alone, worked with Batwoman before. But that's not important, now. The woman is in a bat-costume, she has batarangs - Batman simply must've not told her about him, for his own reasons. There is implict trust there, in the other figure as Batgirl moves quickly behind the van to avoid more gunfire.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman doesn't waste any time wondering what is going on. She can see perfectly through the smoke thanks to filters on her vision through the mask. She frowns as TOmmy retreats anddarts toward him, past one mook, and delivering a rather stunning cross to the jaw of the next. Then a kick to a knee, then another to the gut, and she's stepping over him to continue toward Tommy. Then there's another shot. Batwoman might have had him but she recoils as the rifle comes up and tears a hole through inches of corrugated steel as it haphazardly fires through their surroundings.
So Kate pauses and reaches for her belt, drawing the pistol. A series of rapid shots, dead center of mass, with the aim of an expert marksman at the back of a blinded man. Normally, her target would be dead but Batwoman's gone soft recently. It's loaded with rubber bullets. They're still likely to break a few ribs and knock a man down.
Batwoman continues forward at a moderate pace as she fires. The most important thing is not to miss.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Gunshots? From a Bat? It's a good thing that Batgirl can see the way the target goes down - he's not dead. She can see that in the minute reactions that tells her the target isn't dead. And that frees her. Frees her to move towards two of the other guards. The one that has the sword, and another that holds a pistol. Impossibly, Batgirl dodges one shot - then two, from the pistol as she runs forwards, charging. It's not that the man is shooting wide, she actually seems to be dodging. Or, precognitively knowing where the gunshots are going.
A throat chop, and a dodge from the sword, and then Batgirl is one-on-one with the sword guy, while the remaining few guards focus on trying to take down Batwoman.

Batwoman has posed:
The gun is holstered again and Kate moves over to Tommy Two Tone, taking the time to zip tie his wrists together behind him, grunting with effort as she rolls him over. "You need to lose some weight, Tony. You and I are going to have a little talk."
A man comes charging toward the redhead as she is speaking in that soft, low, rich voice she seems to favour and she looks back over her shoulder. "Just as soon as I finish with the goon squad. One second." She turns as he is coming close and steps in, flipping the gangster over her shoulder. Then the second. Kate's guard comes up. She dodges left, then right. She's good but Cassandra's seen better. Batman is better. Batwoman is closer to Nightwing's level.
A couple punches and a nerve strike later and it's clear that Batwoman has ferocity on her side, however. As the man drops she turns on the third flips him into the first as he attempts to regain his feet. Tommy, meanwhile is trying to get to his feet.
Kate stalks after him, heels clicking against the ground. Red cape flaring behind her. She kicks him in the back of a knee and he goes down, then she twists him by the shoulder so he's on his back. A boot goes to his throat. "You're going to tell me everything you know about these weapons. I'm tempted to just finish this right now..." She slowly applies pressure. Not enough to crush his throat, just... Constrict it.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Batgirl dodges a well-executed sword-cut by angling her body at a unique angle, and then putting him into an armlock. One broken arm, broken nose, and snapped wrist later, and the swordsmen, too, is down. She surveys the area, to make certain no one else is still up, and then slowly she is walking over to where Batwoman is 'interrogating' Tommy, and moves up behind her. She adds the terror of her costume to the mix.
Tommy, for his part, wheezes, "You aren't the Bat. You're just some broad. Two broads," he adds, sneering as Batgirl gets within his line of sight. "I ain't tellin' either of you nothin'."
Batman always took the lead in such interrogations. Batgirl watches, to see how Batwoman is going to handle this defiance Always willing to learn.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman handles the defiance by applying pressure. Down, down. She keeps pressing until Tommy Two Fingers is going to be more worried aobut his neck bbreaking than the fact he can't breathe. Not enough to actually brake him but there will be a boot-shaped bruise for weeks to come. Finally the bat takes a deep breath and holds for a second.
"I want that information, Tommy. This isn't a negotiation. I'm not going to talk this out of you. I barely even want to have you hear." Batwoman's expression is one of quiet disdain, her low voice equal points husky, quiet seduction and chilling violence.
"Honestly, I just want to put my foot down. But you're not the one I'm after. And I need you to be able to answer my questions." There's a beat and Kate shrugs slowly. "Forthat I suppose I have to let you breathe." She move sher foot back to his chest and bends down until she can look the man in the eye. And waits.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Tommy grimaces, face squinching in clear pain, but he's not terrified of Batwoman. Or, maybe, he's more terrified of something else? But it's the added pressure onto his chest, and the reputation she's earned for herself, along with Batgirl's scarecrow like terrorizing visage that finally break him. "They're for the Penguin," he says, snarling. "Preperation. For what's coming. You can't stop it." Or at least, he seems to think.
He looks away from her, then, towards the Van, towards the dormant boxes. "You can't stop any of it. Batman can't even stop what's coming. Go ask Penguin."

Batwoman has posed:
"Alright, I will." Then Batwoman kicks Tommy in the temple and steps away from his unconscious body. Only after all of this is said and done does the woman turn back toward Cassandra, those blue eyes intense as they study the girl form head to toe. "You're not..." Barbara, might be what she'd say that next. Instead Kate finishes with, "The same." She takes adeep breath and holdsit for a second. "Police will be here soon. Already tipping them of. They can take care of the mess." She gestures toward the nearby roof.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Batgirl looks at the unconscious form of Tommy, and then she shakes her head in negation to Batwoman. She is not 'the same' as the former Batgirl. The intent is clearly read. She lifts her grappling hook into the air, snatching onto her leverage and she's off into the nearby roof that Batwoman indicated. She lands there, nearly, and tucks up the grappling hook into her utility belt. She waits for Batwoman, curious as to this other Bat-figure.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman soon follows suit. Close inspection might allow Cassandra to realise that while the Bat motif is the same the redhead's equipment is not the same make or manufacture as Batman's. The shapes are a ltitle different, the lines a little more sleek. A bit more spartan, in some ways. She went for military precision. Which also explains the way she structured her body amrour. It's definitely more prominent than that of any Batgirl even if it is still rather slight.
Grapple in hand Batwoman soon lands on the edge of the roof. She looks over at Cassandra and takes a deep breath before turning toward the spanse of open concrete in front of her. "How long havey ou been with the Bat? I haven't checkedi n recently," she states seriously.

Batgirl (Cain) has posed:
Instead of speaking, Batgirl holds up one hand, palm facing her counterpart. A fist is made. And then three fingers are flashed before it becomes a fist again. And, Kate would be intelligent enough to immediately discern that she doesn't mean years. She circles around Batwoman, though, sizing the woman up with a measured curiousity. Still, she says nothing. The fact that where Batman, and all the Robin's, even the prior Batgirl all had exposed mouths and hers is covered? May be an interesting clue. Or, it could be just a terror factor. Maybe both.
