Analysis 101
Date of Scene: 24 July 2017
Location: Harry's office
Synopsis: Goblin-girl drops by Harry's office with a sample of blood, trying to get some answers.
Cast of Characters: Sarah Osborn, Harry Dresden

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah is not sure what constitutes usual for the only wizard listed in the phone book, but since she is here professionally she arrives in front of the office in full get-up. That is, dressed like a female version of the Green Goblin...in green scale-patterned padded tights and a goblin mask with purple long vest, boots, gloves and hat. With bandoleers and belt worn over the vest...and riding on a tricked out bike with a florescent green bat-like pattern over a purple undercoat. The Liscence plate reads "Goblin", though it is safe bet thar it is not legally applied for. Sarah has found out what she can...which is a fair amount, but knows she needs an expert on the rest. Fred has not bee able to be reached, so she goes with her best available choice.

Harry Dresden has posed:
In his office, Harry is busy at his desk going over some notes in relation to a case he has been working on. There is a map spread out over the desktop and Harry is hovering a hand over it, a crystal dangling from a string held between the fingers of his hand. Systematically he moves his hand slowly over the map, in a grid-like search pattern until he curses loudly and tosses the crystal/string across the room.

It's only then that he notices the scene outside of his office, his eyes narrowing slightly as he reaches a hand out to the side, uttering a word under his breath to bring his staff to his hand and he waits...hand double checking his coat pocket for his .44.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-girl enters the building and goes to the office door. She knocks before opening the door and entering. She pauses before she opens the door and activates the Auric Scanner. She can not read spells or tell the difference between supernatural types at a glance with it, but she can certainly tell a normal person from a Witch...or from a Vampire. That assumes the tech is working right...it should spot any wards and the like, though beyond that it is anyone's guess. She divided the sample she got into three. One she analyzed herself, one she promised to give to Nightwing, if she can track him or his sidekick down. The third she has in a shielded container. That one she intends to show to Dresden.

Harry Dresden has posed:
If the tech works right, which given the proximity of a Wizard like Harry who is known for causing tech things to no longer work, then it might be able to read that the place is warded very, very heavily.

Harry watches the girl dressed as a goblin enter, and eyes her warily. Obviously not a 'real' goblin, Harry has seen quite enough of those for his lifetime, he huhs to himself. "Can I help you?" he asks, planting his staff onto the ground next to him with a soft thump. "The Bat didn't send you, did he? Because if he did, the answers are still the same and I would hate to have to char that outfit of yours."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
The Auric scanner and voice distorter stop working as she draws close to Harry. She had discovered in her research before she came to him that he does something to most advanced technology, so she is expecting it. She says, "Those who know of me, in this guise, call me Goblin-girl. I am occasionally known to perform free-lance investigations. I was recently involved in an altercation in the park with a number of teenagers who injected themselves with something and then transformed into creatures of demonic aspect. I managed to stop one from injecting herself and recovered a sample, though not the whole ampule as that unfortunately broke when it was dropped. I have managed to determine the primary component if blood, but the sample has a paranormal signature as well. I was hoping you might be capable of determining what I could not."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden eyes the 'Goblin-girl' for a moment, as if taking a measure of the costumed person before he sighs and sets the staff aside to lean against his desk. "What kind of demons, do you know? Have a description?"

He walks around the desk and heads towards her, stopping a pace or two away. "I'll take a look, but it might not be a quick look and answer session. I may have to run some tests, consult some books..." and Bob... "before I am able to provide you with any answers. Do you have a way I can contact you to get you the results of my research, or were you just going to drop back by and scare my customers away?" Harry smirks at that last bit, a bit of good natured humor in his voice. "Am I to also assume that I am going to do this pro-bono?"

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-girl says, "First they went through a kind of chrysalis, covered with a black rocky substance then they burst forth with Red eyes and Black claws. The males were thicker, more muscular. The female was thin, with whipcorded muscle. Sensual And very fast on the reflexes."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
"When Detective Montoya shot the one who gave out the ampules, he seemed to unravel leaving behind nothing but some strands of thread and a piece of paper with writing on it...both of which burst into flames," adds Goblin-girl. She notes, "The only thing I know that comes part that way is a Hollow Man, though from my research they typically have a colony of spider-like creatures inside not a scroll of animation...animation scrolls are more for one of the types of golem."

Harry Dresden has posed:
As you mention Renee, Harry perks up a bit and lets out a little grunt. "Oh, you should have told me you know Renee. She is my partner's partner. If she is working on this I wonder..."

Harry trails off into his own thoughts for a moment, reaching up to rub at his chin with hid fingers before he looks back to her, "This may be related to the murders I was helping Renee with. Demonic creatures and blood share similar patters to the ritualistic killings we had been looking at. God, if this is related."

Harry shudders. "Hell's bells, this is starting to remind me way to much like The Shadow Man, Victor Sells. But I know it can't be him, I watched him die. Where is this sample?"

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-Girl pulls out a small case. The outside is iron, Harry can tell it probably Metoeric "cold iron". The box has several layers including one made of lead, one of silver, and the center layer which is made of silk. Inside is the sample in a small glass vial. Clearly someone is trying to prevent magical contamination of the sample.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden arches a brow as he watches her open the case, layer by layer, and gives a nod of respect, "Someone knows a little something about the supernatural? I guess it comes with being a self-proclaimed goblin, though." He grins, and reaches a hand out to the vial, spreading his fingers out and closing his eyes for a moment to test the vial for anything residual before he make a move to pick it up. Never can be to careful of goblins bearing gifts. "Was Karrin with you when this happened?" he asks, a hint of worry in his voice.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-girl frowns behind her mask, though it is probably impossible to tell, "There was Nightwing, a young man I have met before who calls himself "Demon" who is an excellent martial artist, and someone with a Gun who was not apparently police, but was a woman, and myself and Miss Montoya. Unless the other woman was named Karrin, I doubt she was present...I did not get her name."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden shakes his head, "Karrin is a cop, Renee's partner."

Not sensing any residual magics on the vial, he reaches a hand out to take it from the box. "I should have answers for you in a couple of days. You never did mention how I was to go about getting them to you. I'll hit Renee up for my usual consultants fee." He grins, "I'm sure she will just /love/ that."

He looks back to the Goblin-girl, "Do you have much experience in dealing with the supernatural? If this is what I think it is, we are going to need all the help we can get. If this has any relation to the other case I am working on with Renee, then it's big."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-girl shrugs, "Not as much as some of my friends do. I now a witch and a couple of vampires. I fought a vampire, a Tupaliq and a few zombies. I have been working on a database of the paranormal. A cousin of mine is currently a werewolf, and he used to run with a Vampire Slayer. I live in Sunnydale, you get used to these things."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry's brow arches as she talks. "Vampires and werewolves? Vampire slayer? Huh. I ran into a couple of folks at the Magic Box once, pair of witches. They were from there if I recall correctly. Asked me a bunch of questions about vampires." He shakes his head, trying to remember. "Willow something or other and...Tara was it? Anyway, seemed to think I was some sort of rock star. It was amusing, except for the part where they said their mentor friend said I didn't exist because no-one like me would advertise." He smirks, "Guess the joke is on him...or her."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah's lips quirk behind her mask, "Word of mouth only goes so far when it comes time to pay bills. If the are talking about who I think they are, it is a him. I know Tara distantly and Willow a bit better. Speaking of paying bills, I know you will be charging Renee, but I am an expert at mechanical stuff. If you happen to need something repaired, I can pay you in kind that way...I am afraid I am not really rich but I do have some money." Not really enough for what she owns, if she did not make it herself.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden chuckles, "The only thing I own that is mechanical is my car, and I have a mechanic for that. I appreciate the offer though. Renee is necessary so I can get my own bills paid."

Harry takes the vial of blood over to his desk and sets it down on top, next to a bleached human skull. "I'll get some tests run on this tonight, and will hopefully have some answers for you tomorrow. I'll send a report to Renee as well."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-Girl replies, "I will be busy tomorrow, but may try to stop by on Wednesday. I note you carry a pistol, that is mechanical as well, you also have a lock on your door. Still, if you do not think I can help, I should pay you for your time. At the standard rate iof I can afford it. I prefer not to owe debts."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden glances to his pocket where the gun is kept and then back to Goblin-girl. "Good eye. But the forty-four is a revolver, so doesn't tend to need much more than general maintenance. Odds are I will loose it before I need to get it repaired for anything anyway, the rate my luck goes with keeping a pistol around." He smirks, "Nah, don't worry about it. I'm not about to double charge for my time...even though the extra cash would be nice. It ain't my style. My consultants fee will be fine, Ms. Goblin. I'll see you on Wednesday then."

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah sighs, but does not argue. She will consider herself as owing Dresden a favor though, even if he does not. She could give him the number of her prepaid cell phone, but is not sure the connection would work if he was calling. It is probably better to return in person as stated.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden nods when she doesn't say anything else. "Alright. Wednesday it is then." He smiles, rubbing at the back of his neck, "Now, if you will excuse me, it seems I have some work I need to start doing that will require me to be in the lab, so I need to lock up. If you were done, that is?"

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Goblin-girl rises and offers her hand. She will shake Harry's carefully...not wanting to break it...and then leave. She will kick-start her motorcycle and ride off into the gathering gloom.
