- Harry Dresden has posed:
A new place that Willow hasn't brought sweetness from. Harry walks by the door, then pauses and looks in. He opens the door and comes inside. He takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. He doesn't miss the Death Star connection as he walks into the main room.
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
It's a slow day, but the morning was pretty bumping and the evening will likely find people scrambling in to see if there's a discount on goods not sold. Shiloh glances up as the door opens and gives Harry a smile. "Heya! Welcome to The Dark Side. Take your time to look around, I've still got several things on offer." There's a few different cupcakes with their flavors listed as 'Chocolate Spice' and another as 'Coffee Kick'. Cookies of all sorts, cake slices and full cakes also stand proud on display. The girl has a little bit of flour stuck to her face - which proves these were all likely baked recently enough. "And if you have any questions, please let me know."
- Harry Dresden has posed:
The tall man looks around the room for a moment, studying things. Before he has her calling 911 he shows her his PI license and police advisor as well,"Sorry. It's a very long story, but I have to be careful near high tech things. I just wanted to make sure nothing in the room was going to go to smoke and sparks. I'll keep my distance from the register."
He looks at the options and nods,"Coffee Kick cupcakes, two of those." he starts out and starts to point out a cookie here and there as well,"Maybe one chocolate spice cupcake too."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh shakes her head and smiles, giving a nod at his license. "No problem at all..." Considering the company she's been keeping, it's not something she's really concerned with. As he requests some items, she grabs a small box to put the cupcakes in, and since it's a box that can hold four, she'll put two of each cupcakes in. One is a freebie. The cookies are put into a separate bag. "Want me to keep the cookies all together or separate?" Asking this as she puts his order on top of the display counter.
- Harry Dresden has posed:
He considers the question for a moment, putting the ID away and taking out some folded bills. A consideration and admits,"Probably separate them a liittle. Just give me two of each that I indicated so we can have a sugar crash before bed tonight and another after breakfast."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh chuckles and nods. "Sounds good. Tossed an extra of the Chocolate Spice in there as well. I really hope they're enjoyed." Everything is then placed into a bag and she gives him a total, it's likely a fairly reasonable total, and she'll exchange cash for change easily enough. "So, may I ask if there was anything specific that caught your eye to come in? I'm still trying to build up my market...so anything I can use to flush it out a bit would be keen." Her London accent is thick as she speaks, also.
- Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry provides the money asked and a little more, telling her to keep the difference,"I am sure they will be." he replies and gets things settled,"As for what caught my attention..."
He reaches up and touches the pentacle around his neck. A touch of a smile and he continues,"...well I guess you could say it just spoke to me." he provides,"You hint at a little sin and the local denziens should come calling."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"Aw. Thanks mate..." Saying this about the change and all, putting it into the tip jar near the register that he's been avoiding since walking in. When he touches the pentacle at his neck, there's a smirk and a nod given. "I understand. The whole point was kind of a punch-kick idea. With the added thought that, obviously I'm from England. And they always used the British as the villian... so... plus the Light Side's absolutely piss boring." Saying all that before pointing. "Love the 'fit by the by. And if you can think of anyone else who might enjoy a sweet treat with a little sin attached to it. Do send them my way."
- Harry Dresden has posed:
"You're welcome." he replies and once all the goodies are settled he nods,"I have known a few British with villainous tendencies, but honestly more Americans."
He nods and admits,"While I am not a social butterfly, my girlfriend is. Once I tell her about you I am sure Willow will tell Buffy. I will tell my brother who will tell his girlfriend and it will probably grow from there."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"And the circle will ever grow. I'm actually happier that my bakery may grow in popularity by word of mouth than me trying to advertise all around New York. Especially when there's all sorts of eateries around each corner." Shiloh admits to this and then grins. "And just solidifies my dream of moving here from London to start a new life." Admitting that much without more context and then she shrugs. "I truly hope you enjoy the treats, and I hope to see you or your girlfriend or brother and such in sometime soon." Course, there's not much traffic in the bakery at the moment, but she does finalize the transaction in the register and begins to clean up any crumbs and such made by the sale.
- Harry Dresden has posed:
"Word of mouth gets more traffic. It's one thing to see a commercial. It's another when you hear someone say something personal than you are well known to." he suggests."
He gets things gathered and nods,"Be wary. My brother Thomas is...well he's a lot. A good man, but an adjustment sometimes." he tells her with a smirk,"Dreams are what makes the world go around."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh nods. "I agree with you on that one, yeah. I don't have the budget for much... as most of my funds went to getting this bakery started and keeping it running with supplies and stuff. I get steady enough business but if I could get a few regulars..." She wiggles fingers in the air as if to mimic explosions. "Things may boom in a good way and I am here for it." This gains a smile.
At his warning about his brother, she shrugs. "I've had a few interesting folks come through here, and I am regular'd by at least one person who I swear is a mutant of some sort. It takes all kinds to rule the world. This is just one small cog in the machine of life."
- Harry Dresden has posed:
"Budget is the killer. I make as much money advising the the police as I do actually working PI work or wizard work." he tells her and pushes his card to the counter. It has his business name, address, phone number, his own name, and does indeed mention him as being a wizard. He isn't shy about it either.
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"I mean. I've got some skills under my belt that have nothing to do with baking, but it's been hard to find an American equivalent... if one even exists. I trained with HEMA. Er, the Historical European Martial Arts group, but we mainly work in sword fighting. And not fencing but... actual -swords-." Shiloh laughs. "So if I could find something to occupy my time with at night and maybe gain a little more liquidity ... that'd be keen." She also takes the card, eyes it a moment, nods and places it in her back pocket. "Wizard eh? I'm guessin' not somethin' out of Harry Potter and more...actual mystical stuff?"
- Harry Dresden has posed:
"I have heard of that. My last partner was a black belt in Aikido. She is amazing to watch." he tells Shiloh. Harry is decidedly far away from her cash register and surely the light that just flickered strangely just needs replaced anyway.
Shaking his head he sighs,"A little different yes. I get compared to him now in then. Maybe some day I should look into reading one of the books. Who knows, we might have a lot in common."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh chuckles. "Mate, unless you grew up locked in a cupboard under the stairs with your aunt and uncle who hated you because they -knew- you came from the witch in the family... you might already be one up on him." Saying this much and then her gaze moves to the flickering light before she glances back to him. "So what's it like being a wizard then? I mean that respectfully and ask with genuine curiosity. New York has seemed like a right mixed bag of people and I am totally here for it."
- Harry Dresden has posed:
A shake of his head and he admits,"No. I grew up with a father who loed me until he died. Then an uncle who wanted to raise me as a weapon against his enemies. He nearly killed me so I returned the favor, just a little more effectively than he did."
The tone is grim and easy to see he is legit,"As for being a wizard. It is at once great and dreary." he admits,"I enjoy the study and the work, but grow weary of people asking me to come work their childern's birthday parties." He nods and adds,"New York is more mixed than Chicago and that is saying a lot."
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow wasn't herself. At least not really..
As it was, Willow had so many things to think about. She felt prickly on the edges. And just today when someone banged into her at the University, by accident, she turned on the poor guy with her fist barely keeping back a force lightning with his name on it.
She told him off. With swears. Which wasn't like her..
She was debating to herself what was going on, and the funny thing was, part of her *liked* this new Willow. Something that made her even more afraid!
She'd been wandering around Flushing (she didn't know how she had gotten here) muttering to herself about this and that.
Of course there was a bakery! In fact not just ANY bakery, a Star Wars Bakery. And with a *squeee!* she knew she had to look in. Maybe something would follow her home to Harry! That would be nice.
She walked in.
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"Well. I don't have any kids..so no asking you for birthday party favors I promise." Shiloh begins. "Maybe have you dress up and flip a sign around outside..." A grin then, because she's joking. Maybe.
In all seriousness she nods. "I can see how that can get old though. Does it tie into your work with the police or the PI stuff at all? I'm just curious..." Asking that just as she notices the door open and someone else walks in. Not knowing who it is, she just lifts a hand to wave.
"Hello! Welcome to The Dark Side, where we -actually- have cookies! And other things. Please, help yourself to look around, let me know if you have any questions about anything and if you'd like to buy something, well, that'd be lovely. No pressure tho!"
- Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry snorts softly and shakes his head,"I am relieved to hear no parties." he tells her seriously,"As for dressing up. This is as good as it gets." Old, but clean shirt and jeans under a long duster. There is little hope for him turning many eyes.
He glances towards the door and a warm smile touches his lips. He might not turn eyes, but he doesn't care to so long as his favorite red head is his. Looking at her for a moment he admits,"Here I was thinking about telling you about this place and you find it all by yourself."
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
The Dark side.. oooo! What a name.
Without noticing Harry, she burbles, "Do you have dark cookies?"
Dark Side. Dark cookies? It made sense!
Ooops! Harry.
Blushing because she didn't even see him until then, "Hi Harry. I stopped outside and saw the name. You probably haven't seen the movies, though there are books.. Anyways! They are some of my favourite movies. Xander, my friend, used to warm me about.. Oh, well he teased me about things to do with the movies."
Willow had the sense to not talk about magic until she knew it would be safe.
"What are you talking about?" Looking back and forth between Harry and Shiloh.
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh laughs a little. "Well if that's as good as it gets..." She begins, and then there is a Willow. Oh! This is Willow. Harry's girlfriend. Or at least Shiloh assumed that when Harry was naming people off earlier. "Oh! Hello. Yes, Harry's already bought some things... and we've been discussing business, sword fighting, Harry Potter and wizardry... likely in that particular order." She explains to the other woman. "I'm glad you made the connection to the movies...it's that plus - as I explained before - my desire to showcase that even the dark side has some goodies. And yes. I have dark cookies. Dark chocolate with cinnamon chips. I -think- Harry chose a couple of those.."
- Harry Dresden has posed:
"I have read the books and watched the movies in the drive ins. Far from the projectors. I got weird looks being there watching them instead of makng out like the rest of the perverts." he admits,"Xander worries too much. Star Wars is the greatest bastion of art." Like he knows anything about art.
He chuckles softly and admits,"Actually, I was talking about getting my girlfriend to come here as well as my brother. Then like magic, my girlfriend arrives."
He nods to Shiloh and agrees,"I think they were on the list." He laughs softly and adds,"I think you hit pretty miuch every high point in one try." he agrees in regards to what they are talking about,"I told her she needed to be wary of my brother and his charming self, but that I'd be sending him this way."
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Of course. Harry would have. Even if he didn't know her fascination with the Star Wars universe. ..But he does. And that's one of the reasons she loves him.
"You can go to the drive-in without a car?" Some things about his oddity still don't make sense. Like cars.
"Yes, don't agree to anything that Thomas says." She nods vehemently. "That would be the safest way.. Did you say swords? My one friend sells them, and I think Buffy uses them." Very rarely. She prefers other weapons. "I think they're great, but I've never really had a chance to play with them. Mostly I practise hand to hand."
And getting away. Mostly getting away.
Though.. Willow blinks. "Well damn!"
