We Can Dance If We Want To

Location:	Mutant Town
Synopsis:	Dani & Alexia meet Yana at a rave set up in Mutant Town

Black Rose has posed:
    Mutant Town. It's a place where cultures clash, and mix, and mingle. And, as the music thumps through the atmosphere of the crowd, most of which are normal looking, but there's several inhuman looking mutants - blue and red skin, horns, tails, odd number of fingers, and other odd attributes. They're all here. Within the mix, a blue-haired girl of indeteriminate age, somewhere between 16 to 20, is dancing with a small group of girls and boys, until the song fades. She smiles at them, wiggles her fingers, and moves through the crowd, blue eyes bright. The night, for her, is just getting started, afterall.
    The DJ queues up another track, in the once-abandoned building, now turned into a not-so-secret, but underground club so as to at least muffle a little of the pulse-pounding sound so it doesn't bring the law nosing around.
    Some drugs are exchanged here, some booze is brought here, or served by a third party, but for the most part, the young teenagers and twenty-somethings come here to party in a place where they can without being judged, without being scrutinized. Where they can feel 'normal'.

Tendril has posed:
    As if drawn like a moth to the flame....though not really, because a party isn't nearly as destructive...usually...comes another girl with odd skin, rounding the corner, her hips already starting to sway a bit as she catches part of the beat. "See, told ya! You'll love this place, it's great!" she says, glancing back with a grin at Dani, whom she's currently pulling along by the hand. "This is, like, the best club in Mutant Town right now!"

    She pauses by the door, opening for the other girl. "C'mon! I love this song!"

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins a bit, "Don't think I've been down here before, but okay..." She lets Alexia drag her into the club, instinctively starting to dance along with the music as she starts swaying to the beat, then she grins, "How did you hear about this anyway?" She does like to dance, but normally it's when no one is watching.

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana had actually helped set up the club, with a bit of her father's money. State of the art sound system, a building that a shell company still owned but had no purpose for, and a few telephone calls around town, and instant-party-club. It was a great spot to meet new people, get a better idea of how the scene was playing out. And, there were so many people to watch. To talk to. To -- entertain herself, with. Not that she'd advertise she was the one behind it. That wasn't what was important. What was important was the people it was bringing her.
    The door opening and others coming in has her attention briefly, then and the girl with the bright blue hair is clomping her platform calf-high boots towards the newcomers to the club. Her natural blue eyes, interested. She shakes her head and pulls her hand away from a clearly tripping girl who tries to pull her in for a dance, and gently pushes back a boy who tries to approach her for the same. They? THey're people she knows.
    Dani, and Alexia? New. Interesting.

Tendril has posed:
    The mauve girl tosses a grin back to DAni. "Well you wouldn't, it's not been here very long! And you just gotta know where it's gonna be, ya know?" She bounces in after the Amerindian girl, letting the door shut behind her as they make their way out onto the floor, looking around a bit. "I mean..." she says, pitching her voice a bit louder so Dani can hear her over the music. "It's kinda one of those roving one, at least till the cops bust it again..." She grins at her toothily. "But it's cool..just, make sure you see your drink get made and don't leave it unattended, okay?"

    The flash of blue from the corner of her eyes makes Lex turn her head, looking at the oncoming girl with interest, mostly at the hair color, then running over the rest of her. Nope, doesn't know her either. Nice outfit though, she thinks, tilting her head as he reaches up to brush a few strands of her hair back behind her ear.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani, for her part, is wearing a black Daft Punk shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers, not looking much of anything like a regular clubber. Then she grins over at Alexia, "Wasn't planning on drinking anything... seemed to be the best course." She does end up following Lexi's gaze, spotting Yana as she tilts her head, glancing at her for a second before she then takes another look around the club.

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana grins, suddenly, over at the girls, her eyes sweeping over Alexia, then Dani as she approaches both of them. She offers, "You're new. If you got a favorite song, go talk to Mick." She points over towards the DJ, whose mutancy is clearly obvious - or at least, part of it. A pair of devil-like wings are spread out from his back in their full black and red-veined glory, and his red eyes gleam almost irridescent in the dark club. "He'll play anything you want, long as it's something we can dance to. I'm Yana." Her accent is hard to pinpoint, if she even has one.

Tendril has posed:
"Cool...Lex." she says, offering a hand. "So ya know what's up here, huh?" she says, smiling at the newcomer. "This is Dani." she offers, stepping to the side a bit so she can see her clearly. "This is her first time here!" she says cheerfully, still pitching her voice a bit louder to be heard over all the noise, though she's definitely swaying to the beat still, completely with a little hip wiggle at the end of each chorus for the current song. "I don't think I've seen ya before at one of these!"

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani smiles, "Yeah, first time and all that." She grins a bit, "Don't think it's gonna be the last. Love the music." She sways a bit more relaxed with the music, though she's not really dancing, mainly because she's talking to Yana, "Glad to meet you!"

Black Rose has posed:
    "Lex. Love the name," Yana conceeds and she tells Alexa, "Just started coming," with a chesire grin. But she moves as if she's been very well acclimated to the evniorment, regardless. "You get to meet the coolest people, too," she confides to Dani, warmly. "No fights. No rules. Except one. Have fun. Be yourself." Her eyes follow Lex's hips as the girl dances some, she - like Dani, not dancing presently.
    "You come to a lof of these, then, Lex? Sounds like it. You've probably seen Mack around, then. He told me he's been doing these for, like, a year, now. He's a cool guy," she tells Dani, "Very chill. Nobody knows what he can do, besides probably flying," she says, humored. "But, rumor holds he can supress sounds from whomever he wants. Which is why it takes the cops so long to find places he DJs at."

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia flashes a grin. "Yeah, he's how this place goes pretty much!" she agrees. "The only time they get busted is when he's been gone for some reason and they went ahead with the party anyway." She spins a bit a little in place. "Mm, but it's cool! If ya just started, best rave you can get in this neighborhood...maybe in the whole district around us too!" She shrugs her shoulders. "And yeah, no one stares. Well, not because they think ya are weird, anyway...just the better kind of looking...." she says, slitting her eyes playfully.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins, "Nice! But yeah, don't normally get a chance to go dancing much as I'd like." She gives Lex a wry look, "I think I'm gonna get stared at more than you around here." Not that she minds it, so much, but she feels a little out of place with the fact she's not an obvious mutant.

Black Rose has posed:
    The music continues to thump, and boys and girls continue to dance, a few lights splay out over the club, flashing, shining. Others stand around, talking. A few even smoke. But, it's almost like any other rave. Any normal rave, apparent mutancy or not. Yana tells Dani, "Well, now's your chance. And, getting stared at isn't so bad," she maintains. She glances, sidelong, at a boy who is, in fact, having a hard time at which of the three girls he should be staring at, knowingly. She curves a smile at him, then looks back to the other girls she's joined. "But the most important thing," she regards Dani with, "Is that you enjoy yourself. Because, when this all ends, you have to go back out there."

Tendril has posed:
    "But until then...we forget about stuff and just have FUN!" Alexia insists. "C'mon, let's dance!" she wheedles, practically bouncing in place, then forces herself to stand still. "I mean, it's cool to chat too, but dancing first, chatting after, with a cold beer to cool down with!" she says cheerfully, the basso beat vibrating through the floor under her. "ACtually, drink first? Gotta hydrate! Want something, my treat!"

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins, "Just a Coke for me, Lex..." She looks a bit sheepish at the mention of beer, and it isn't that she's TRYING to be a stiff... after all, she did come out here. "But thanks. Definitely feel in the mood to do some dancing." She then starts dancing a bit more, hair bouncing around as she twists and weaves to the music.

Black Rose has posed:
    "My treat," Yana tells both girls, and she grabs each of the their hands, slightly, and she begins to walk, dragging them each behind her slowly, over to where some resourceful mutant has managed to aquire a decent selectoin of drinks, stored in several salvaged refridgerators, with a crude price list scrawled on paper and marker and taped to the various fridges. "A coke," Yana tells the bartender, "Hard Lemonade for me, and, whatever she's having." She lets go over the girls hands then, to grab her alcoholic lemonade that is teleported in front of her, still sealed.
    The rather normal looking bartender nods his head towards Dani, and the glass bottle of Mexican Coke apparates in front of her. He looks over to Lex, grinning wide.
    Yana leans forward, taps his hand and tells him, smiling, "Pay you later, ya?"
    He just chuckles, and then nods.

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia looks momentarily suprised but doesn't resists being pulled along, though she looks over at Dani bouncing a little and grins, doing the same as she flicks her head back and forth, her silver braids flying back and forth behind her. She slows to a stop, then hmmmmms, pouting. "Okay, but I get next one?" she offers, then says. "Hard lemonade sounds pretty taste actually, I'll have one of those too!" She smiles a bit, looking interested as the drinks apparate, then reaches out to snag it. "So they know you pretty well here?" she says curiously.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani doesn't resist either, taking the Mexican Coke with a pleased expression, "Awesome, real sugar." She grins, popping the top and taking a swig as she looks over at Yana, waiting for the answer to the question as she looks at Lex, "Maybe I should change into my armor?" Her eyes twinkle a bit in amusement as she looks over the dancing crowd, smiling to herself as she seems to enjoy it all, even if she's not dancing in it herself.

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana doesn't mention her connections to the place, only nods to Lex, shrugging, and offering, "I'm a people person. I like people. I come here to meet people, as much as to socialize." She flicks eyes over the bartender, "You'd be surprised at how few people actually talk to Reggie. They want drinks. They want to dance. Spent half my first night here, sitting on the table, talking to him. He's got some -really- interesting stories. His sister is down in the Morlock Tunnels. He sees her, every now and then."
    She uncaps the alocholic beverage, and tips it back, drinking it before she begins to move a little again to the music. "Glad you both could be here, though. Where you from?" She asks, both to Lex, and Dani.

Tendril has posed:
    And that...makes Alexia freeze, as she stares at Yana, a brief expression of shock on her face. Then she steps up closer to Yana, leaning in so she can talk more clearly to her. "In the upper tunnels? There are Morlocks again in the upper tunnels?!?" she says, grabbing Yana's hand reflexively mostly for something to do with her own. "How many? Where? Which ones are there?!?" she says, the questions spilling out fast, before she catches herself. "...s-sorry, I..." She swallows. "Sorry, but it's really, really important..." she says after a moment, leaning back to give Yana some space. She looks equal parts excited, scared and hopeful.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins, and suddenly snaps her fingers, "So that's why the accent sounded familiar!" She looks between Yana and Lexi, and her she sounds pretty excited as well to hear that there's still Morlocks around. Then she asides to Yana, simply saying, "Westchester." Which should be enough for mutants to know where she and Lex are from, anyway.

Black Rose has posed:
    It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure out that Lex is super-excited about the mutants. Even Dani's more muted interest is percieved by Yana, though she doesn't show it. Instead, registering these as at least focal points of interests for the girls, she now wants to find out why. So she plays it close to her chest, shaking her head, "Just met you. And they -really- don't like strangers. Even other mutants," she warns Lex, and Dani each, as if she were telling some local kids that she was not going to tell them where the serial killer had murdered his victims because he hadn't been caught yet.
    "And where they are was given to me in confidence. I don't even go there, without an escort. Best to leave them alone."

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia looks frustrated, then glances around before genty tugging Yana towards a quieter corner. As she walks by Dani, a tendri swirls out of her arm, lassoing her wrist as well as she pulls them both over, where she doesn't have to shout. "I KNOW that..." she says, hissing it out softly, then swallows. "I AM one. But...but my group, they...they killed them all, I thought...." she says, stumbling over her words. "I thought I was th' only one, I couldn't FIND anyone else when I went back...not even bodies..."

    She takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself, then looks at Yana earnestly, her eyes shimmering wetl now. "Seriously. I just want to know who's alive. Who made it out, who didn't get killed by those fuckers...that's it. I don't even have to go down, I just..." She pauses, breathing in and out, then looks down. "...please." she breathes.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani places an arm around Alexia, instinctively supporting her as she says all that, and shakes her head, "I had no idea..." She glances over at Lex, then at Yana, though she directs her words to Lex as she says, "But hey, they got to make sure they're safe. Though knowing a little bit wouldn't hurt, right? Maybe... we could pass a message or something?"

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana is pulled along over to the side by Lex, and allows herself to be so, listening with open ears, a measure of half-suspicion, half-empathy in her eyes though it might be hard to read them. She listens, intently, to Lex, but doesn't answer yet. As if she were contemplating, weighting the words. Then, Dani offers an agreeable means around it. "Alright. Next time I go, I'll take a message for you," she agrees, to Lex. "No other promises. Sorry, but I don't know you. And, I made a promise." She brushes her bright hair back, and then takes a sip of her liquored drink.
    She considers Dani, now. "Oh, you mean the mutant school? Yeah. My dad said I could have my choice. Xavier's, or the school in Meteropolis that just opened up," she tells her, conversationally as if she were choosing amongst the elite of private schools, versus being 'brought into' Xavier's, or rescued in any way.

Tendril has posed:
    The mauve girl starts to say something, golden eyes flashing, then visible restrains herself, breathing in deeply as she leans slightly against Dani. "...okay. That's good. I can give ya a message for them." she says with a little huff of air. She looks at Yana, then says seriously. "I owe ya for it too. Thanks. I don't forget stuff like that."

    She quiets a bit as Yana brings up the school choice, looking a bit distracted as she starts rubbing her hands absently, mind apparently racing. She tilts her head slightly at the mention of a second school though, glancing between the two. "Well...I only know Xavier's...it's been...really cool to me. They took me in, fostered me there."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani nods, "Yeah, um... I gotta tell ya that I'm pretty biased, but I love it at Xavier's." She smiles slyly, "Plus, they let me keep my winged stallion in the stables there. I don't know too much about the place in Metropolis, but it's pretty amazing up there. I mean, it really helped me come to grips with a lot of things."

Black Rose has posed:
    "Academy of Tomorrow," Yana tells Lex and Dani both, conversationally. "Dad thinks I have what it takes to make it there. But, we'll see. I'm really undecided. But, you both go to Xavier's?" She smiles, faintly, before shaking her head, and her long hair towards Lex. If she'd noticed the other girls hair 'acting up', she doesn't call attention to it. Instead, she simply says, "You don't owe me anything. Except maybe your number?" She pulls the most recent LexPhone out of her pocket, and looks at Lex and Dani, so she can type in their numbers.
    "I've lived in New York most of my life. So, there's that. And I'd be closer to home. But, if I went to Metropolis, that'd be a lot of new experiences there. And, from what I hear the Academy of Tomorrow is tougher than Xavier's. So, I'm kind of on the fence," she admits.

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia huhs, taking that in...and in fact, her hair is shifting. like a breeze keeps running through it, to go with her general agitation. She blinks. "Oh, sure..." she says, then reads off her personal number. "I haven't heard anything about another school, but I didn't even know XAVIER'S existed until a detective hauled me there." she admits, a little sheepishly. "So can't help ya there. I mean, I can tell ya Xavier's has lots of nice types. Haven't had anyone have a harsh word so far." Which is saying something either about how good Alexia is at not getting caught or that people are unobservant at times.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani shrugs, "Well, hey, it's up to you. But I know Xavier's helped me out a lot, had some rough times prior to that." She can't help but shiver as she remembers what she went through before getting there, then continues, "But on the bright side, I guess you wouldn't be too far away." With that, she enters in her phone number for Yana, putting in her info as 'Dani Moonstar'.

Black Rose has posed:
    "Well," says Yana, thoughtfully, "Maybe I'll visit both? You two could show me around? Along with whoever is, in charge there?" If she knows about Charles, she doesn't show it. For all she knows, it's simply called Xavier's because it's probably some dead guy like Roosevelt or any other school name. Maybe Xavier was the first mutant ever, or something.
    She shares her own number with the girls, and then says, "Text me what you want to get to the Morlocks, Lex. I promise you I'll get it to them through my contact, okay?" She lays a hand on Lex's arm, comfortingly.
    She pauses, looking to Dani, "Were you with the Morlocks, too?" She doesn't seemt o doubt Lex's story, but at the same time - the Morlocks don't exactly have a lot of friends on the outside. Trust, but Verify.

Tendril has posed:
    Alexia clasps her hands behind her back, rocking on her feet a little. "Sure, I got no problem showin' you around. It's all, like, fresh in my mind, since I just did it myself an' stuff." She rubs at her eyes a bit, then smiles at Yana, looking back to her old self a bit. "Yeah, sure....I'll do that. Whenever is good for you." she says. She inhales at the touch on her arm, but seems to take some comfort from the touch, nodding at her, then looks to Dani, a bit curiously. Because, well...she got to the valkyrie part, but she's still very curious about the other girl too.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani shakes her head at Yana, "Not really... I mean, I knew a few, but not that many." She smiles at Lex, then looks back to Yana, "Mostly I just empathize with them, having grown up on the Rez and all in Colorado." She shrugs a bit.

    Then she continues, speaking to Yana, "And yes, we can definitely give you a tour. I might even be talked into letting you take an aerial tour." Her lips quirk at that, as she thinks that having a winged stallion on campus might be a pretty awesome selling point, herself.

Black Rose has posed:
    "A flier? I can't fly. But, I can't complain about what I can do. I have a -lot- of fun. But, I didn't really come here to talk about my powers. You girls wanna dance, or what? Couple hours, before party dies down," she says, leading them each onto the dance floor. Morlocks, and aerial offers, for now, tabled, in lieu of some Dead Weather as the DJ spins 'Blue Blood Blues'.
