Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Gambit, Rogue

Gambit has posed:
The note said six pm, but Remy has been working since noon. First getting a sitter for Jack, which always suprises him how easy it is to get someone to watch the big derp for a few hours. Then cooking. Roasted chicken, roasted red potatos, a small salad, he even baked fresh bread with real butter melting over the crust. There is a nice white wine chilled, and molton chocolate lava cakes prepared to go in the oven when it's time for desert. Finally, the Cajun himself has dressed for the occasion. A black silk suit with a crisp white shirt and black tie. His hair pulled back into a loose pony tail. Even golden cuff links. So when he answers the door he smiles broadly, "Figure we gots a few birthdays ta make up foh, so Remy t'ought he go all out, bob?"
Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiles as Remy answers the door, looking him over all dressed up and no where to go. "Dressing up for a night in? I think that's a wonderful idea...and this dress is lovely Remy...thanks. You didn't have ta buy me anything special tho..." Saying this as she steps into the boathouse, already able to smell everything that's been cooking. "Where's Jack?" Asking that cause the dopey dog was the first thing she expected to greet her after coming in. "Holy canoly, Remy, it smells wonderful in here. Just what the hell have you been up to all day?" Asking that even as she steps in further. On the outside the boathouse can seem simple, and knowing it's usually only occupied by the Cajun Thief one might think it's always in ruinous form - but the Cajun keeps it tidy enough.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins slightly, "Pawn 'im off on Sam foh de evening, 'e's usually game ta take care of 'im when yah not available." He says woth a shrug, "An' Ah plan ta keep yah pretty unavailable foh de rest of de night." He says with a playful grin. He gestures to the table where the food has just been served, pulling out her chair for her. "We spen' too many birt'days, Valentines Days, Christmas's, Flag days... yah name it apart. Remy t'ink it well past time we correct dat." He touches to cork in the wine, which takes on a faintly pink hue before jumping out of the bottle.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue actually flushes a bit and then gives a little grin. "I don't mind being kept busy and unavailable for tonight, sugah. I wasn't too sure you'd remember what today was..." But leave it to Remy to surprise her again and again. As he pulls out her chair, she thanks him softly as she sits. "This looks delicious Remy... and if I remember right it's gonna taste as good as it looks. You've always had a special touch in the kitchen." Course between him, her, and Sam there's always usually something left over in the mansion's kitchen and a healthy portion of sweet tea. As he pops the cork out of the wine, she laughs and then glances up at him. "I think correcting all the time we spent apart and making up for it is a great idea..."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a little bit, "Curse of a misspent yout'." He says as he fills her wine flute. "See growin' up in de LeBeau 'ouse'old stealin' was okay, but all ot'er forms of trouble makin' land yah 'elping Mrs. Pottswort' in de kitchen. Yah might guess but poo' Remy spend allot of time in dat kitchen, an' as a result Ah pick somet'ings up." He takes a seat next to her and adds, "Dis day nevah leave mah calander chere. Even when we not toget'er, Remy always remember.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue chuckles and then feigns surprise. "You? A misspent youth? I never would have thought, sugah. Figured you was the nicest boy growin' up... 'cept for the thieving of course..." Not that she minds that about him either. "Well spendin' all that time in the kitchen does seem to have done ya some good, Cajun." Smiling as he sits next to her, watching as he pours them wine. "Coulda fooled me. Ya could've at least sent a card or somethin' to let me know you rememebered.." Teasingly taunting him about that.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau shrugs, "Nevah seemed right." he says as he sips his wine. He's more of a Whiskey man normally, often joking he keeps cheap wine and expensive scotch on hand. Likely this bottle accounts for more then he spends on wine in a year. "Yah gotta figure chere, it was right aftah yah Birt'day day yah decide yah not wanna see me no more. Den it was me an Riana, Den yah an' Henri. Den it was me an' Wanda, den it was yah an Logan... It just wasn' de right time. So now dat de right time is 'ere, Remy not gonna waste a minute/.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue reaches for her wine as Remy recounts all the back and forth they've had dating wise. Now being the time they were both single and decided to give it another shot. She takes a slow swallow of her wine and frowns. "I suppose that's all true. Also, I never did anything for you for your birthday, so why should I have expected anything. All that's gonna change now. The time's here and now...can't change the past...and all we got to look forward to is the future." She leans over to kiss his clothed shoulder. Not risking him not expecting a kiss and she winds up stealing even a small portion of his power. "You gonna dish up the food so we can start eating or do I gotta fix it myself?"
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smiles at the small kiss. It's strange to him that a kiss through three layers of cloth from this woman can still send sparks through his soul. The chicken is realitively small so he cuts it quite literally in half down the breast bone. The clear juices running fragrently onto the serving platter as he slides one portion onto her plate and takes the other for himself. A Few potatos follow, as well as a healthy slice of the still steaming bread. "Yah know Ah nevah even 'ad a birt'day growin' up. Pick November 21 literally at random one day." He shrugs, "Nevah mattered cause nevah 'ad anyone dat care bout such t'ings."
Rogue has posed:
"I think ya said that a few times...but I wanna do all of this right. I want to celebrate everything we can together - the good and the bad." Rogue offers as she picks up a fork to stab a few potatoes before popping them into her mouth. "Unless ya really don't wanna celebrate somethin' like your birthday..." That said so she can at least get his feelings about the matter in the present time. She cuts into the chicken piece then, having that bite, and giving a little happy sound from how good it tastes. "Mmn..this is really good. I think you may have outdone yourself, Mister LeBeau..."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau chuckles slightly, "Didn' Ah jus' say day Ah nevah cared before because Ah nevah 'ad anyone else ta care about it wit'?" He asks in a playful tone. He then takes a bite of his chicken himself and smiles, "course yah right about one t'ing... Ah definatly out did mahself wit' dis chicken." He says with a laugh and takes a slightly larger bite.
Rogue has posed:
"Okay, okay. Hold ya horses, Swamp Rat. Maybe I was just tryin' to clarify stuff with you..." Rogue quips with a grin before slabbing some more butter on the steamy bread and takes a bit. "Mmnf...I could surely get used to this... tho I'm pretty sure you wouldn't mind me cookin' up a thing or two in the kitchen every once in a while. Except maybe fried chicken. If I recall, we ususally have a fight about whose is best." Her eyes sparkle with humor as she scoops some potatoes onto the bread and has a very carby bite. "So...dinner. Dessert. What else ya got planned?"
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins just a little bit and picks up a small little white remote... and music starts playing from hidden speakers. Purly instermental but slow... And after a moment resolving itself into the song "Once upon a dream" from Sleeping Beauty. He grins slightly and stands, "Ah mean Ah was gonna wait till after desert but since yah bring it up..."
Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks, head tilting just so as the music begins to play and she looks at him. Then turns as he stands and a single brow raises. "I just asked what else ya had in mind is all..." She looks between him, the food, and back to him. "Mmn...I like this song. I never woulda picked you to be a Disney fan, LeBeau..." She's just pulling out all his nicknames tonight, isn't she? "So...what are you doin'?" Cause he hasn't exactly done anything but stand up.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau laughs a little, "Perhaps it's also a curse of misspendin' mah yout'? Nevah 'ad time foh t'ings like Disney movies growin' up. So as an Adult Ah finding Ah rat'er like dem. Aladain mah favorite at de moment, but how Remy not love a movie where de t'ief steal de princess, non?" He says as he bows deeply , florishing his hand to take hers. "M'accompagnerez-vous dans cette danse?"
Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks and then she smiles. "I suppose that makes sense. But I think Disney movies are for any one of any age...s'long as they still got a little bit of child left in their heart..." This offered and then he's asking her to dance in so many words of French. He knows she loves it when he speaks that language and she's learned enough of it thru him to understand. Placing her hand in his as she stands from the table. "Oui..."
Gambit has posed:
There isn't /allot/ of room between the dining room table and the living room sofa, but there is enough for the two of them to hold each other close. To move with the music and loose themselves in each other's arms. "Once upon a dream" fades into "I can show you the world," which then in turn fades into "Part of that World." Near the end of that song being when the Cajun speaks words he's been holding in for a very long time "Ah love yah Marie."
Rogue has posed:
No, there's not a lot of room. But that usually doesn't matter between the two of them when they're holding close and just swaying to the music. She smiles as one song fades into another song and then another. All Disney themed, all about love and finding love and being a part of things. She's enjoying the moment, her head on his shoulder as they move. It's when he says those words - and uses her real name - that she shifts just a bit to pull back. Not away, just back. Enough so she can find his red eyes with her green ones. "I love you, too, Remy."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau initiates the kiss, so that she will know it's safe. That microscopic barrier of his powers seperating them just enough to be safe and no where near enough for them to notice in the moment. Soft, slow and tender. Holding her close. The two of them finding themselves after so so long where their hearts have always been. Dinner is forgotten. Deseert never even considered as he gently, wordlessly walks backwards with her in the direction of his bedroom and the camera slowly fades to black.
