Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Nightwing, Wonder Woman

Nightwing has posed:
The absence of the young vigilante known as Nightwing was known to some. To those who knew him as Dick Grayson it was offered that he was merely sight-seeing in Europe, but the Bat and those who share secrets with the Bat would know it was a time spent without much time for leisure. It had been a time that he used to track down some of the worst criminal connections that came through Bludhaven. But, like so many other young men who traveled to the Old Country, he ended up finding aspects of himself. Despite the cliche of such a thing.
But then he returned, just a handful of days ago. He arrived back to Bludhaven and Gotham with a bang, and swung into action as if he hadn't missed a day. He'd contacted old friends, allies, even a few informants that still owed him some favors. But eventually he found himself in Metropolis. He had words with the big blue fella in the cape, who told him in turn he should check in with Diana.
And so the next day... he did.
It was during the day, a call was made at first to request an appointment and was told that there might be an opening during the day if there was a cancellation. So he made his way to the embassy, just an hour after lunch and hopefully during the less busy part of the day. Dick Grayson entered the foyer in his best black business suit, though still at times fussing with the collar and the tie. He smiled to the receptionist and said pleasantly, "Dick Grayson to see the ambassador."

Wonder Woman has posed:
It did not take long for the receptionist to give word for Mister Grayson that he could see the Ambassador now, only a short wait in the entry hall to the Embassy. A moment later and an escort arrived to take Dick to Diana's office.

Once there, the escort opened the door to the office and announced his arrival for Diana, then parted from them both after smiling to Dick and moving toward the assistant area just outside of Diana's office.

The Princess herself, was inside her office indeed, but she wasn't at her desk, she was at a work station near the large windows on the north-facing wall, here she was tending to a painting brought in by one of her associates, to a person not very familar with art, it might look like Diana was painting, but in actuality she was simply cleaning the edges around the artwork with a small brush and a bottle of cleansing solution.

"Mister Grayson." Diana said, looking away from the art after a few seconds, and offering him a wide smile upon her red painted lips. She was dressed in a royal blue dress that had long sleeves down to her wrists and a dress that ended just at knee level, a gold necklace wrapped around her slender throat and a pair of dark blue heels on her feet.

"Welcome, come in, plase." She started to walk toward him and would come to offer him a handshake.

Nightwing has posed:
"Ambassador," Dick smiles as he crosses the distance towards her, accepting her hand in a gentle shake and if she seems amenable he will lean in for a small embrace, just a hand to her shoulder and then drawing back. He looks to her as he steps back, then corrects himself as he says, "Diana, it's good to see you."
For a few moments he looks between her brilliant blue eyes with his own and then steps back again. His eyebrow lifts and he turns his head slightly to the side as he gestures with a hand towards the painting that she had been tending to only moments ago. "I had no idea you were into art restoration." He looks towards the work, drawing his lower lip between his teeth to worry it for a moment as he leans closer, "Alfred tried to show me a little about it ages and ages ago. But I didn't have the patience."
He turns back towards her and smiles warmly.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would return the friendly embrace gesture and then glance toward the painting and the stool/work station near the windows that looked outside. She'd look back to Dick then and offer him a soft grin. "Yes well... it has become a very valued hobby for me over the past many years. It helps me center myself and focus on... internal emotions. I rather enjoy doing it."

Diana would then motion for the sofa and chairs area near the small drink bar in her office and she'd tell him to take a seat. "Can I get you something to drink?" She'd further ask. "Water, tea, coffee... I think there are juices here still too from the school event last week..." Diana walked toward the bar area to grab some glasses. "Alfred is Bruce's assistant, yes?" She asked then. "I have only met him a few times, he seems like a wonderful man."

Nightwing has posed:
"Water would be lovely, thank you." Dick had listened to her as she spoke about why she participates in art conversation and he smiled faintly. A nod had been given and after answering her offer of a beverage he steps closer to the painting, examining her brush strokes and then straightening as he ponders what they might say about the woman who had placed them there in the effort of returning something beautiful to its former glory.
Turning back to her he smiles, "He is sort of... everything to him. To us." Dick steps around to walk after her, "Could say he raised us. But he needed to have, like you have, an inexhaustible amount of patience." He smiles a bit and then fidgets at the tie a little, ideally when she isn't looking as really, he's just not used to it.
"So no surprise why you both do well with it." He gestures towards the painting.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would prepare the water with some ice and a couple lemons inside of a small silver bowl and then she'd turn to him and offer them both to him with a smile. "The responsibilities of the patriach of the family... I'm sure it is exhausting for him, but I would think he takes a great deal of pride in it as well. As any good father figure should."

Diana would then turn and grab herself a glass of sweat tea before she'd make her way to the seating area. "Come, sit." She'd say, motioning to the chair across from her own.

"What, precisely, have you been up to yourself?" She asked him then before sipping from her glass. "Its been awhile since I last saw you... that wretched chaotic night with the subway training. I still am sorry for how I shook you around inside of it with all of those horrible men, but, they were so heavily armed, I wanted to even the odds up some for you."

Nightwing has posed:
The young man crosses that small distance and takes up the seat opposite her, holding his glass of water in one hand and taking a sip as he settles in place. He leans back and looks at the chair, then looks to her with that faintly roguish smile. "Oh don't worry about that, I was happy to have the help." Dick grins and takes another sip of his tea and then crosses his leg over his knee as he gets comfortable. "But precisely what I've been up to?"
For a moment he lifts his eyes up and past her as if trying to conjure the memories, but then he looks to her with a smile that reaches those sapphire eyes of his, "What, a minute by minute accounting of my trip? Or would you be satisfied with just a day to day retelling of my adventures?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would listen to this and it would make her grin softly as she sat her glass of tea down onto the glass coffee table in front of her knees. She'd cross her legs at said knees then and lean back in her chair with her back straight still. "A man as young as you... I would expect you to have used one of those head cameras and recorded the entire trip from your own perspective, and be providing it with quite amount of eager anticipation on all of your social media accounts." She said in good natured humor.

"Though, to be honest, and to show my age more than I should... I would much prefer to just hear the first hand account and retelling of your favorite moments, first hand." She'd smile again then and place her hands atop her knees, one over the other. "Bruce is surely happy to have you back. I am still... annoyed at him, at least a little, after what he did with poor Cassandra."

Nightwing has posed:
"Yeah, somehow I don't think that'd go over well with Bruce," Dick smiles as he shakes his head, no, no social media fun excursions for him especially with the technology available today for people to consolidate data. Batman has the right of it, stay off the interwebz. But he looks across the way and nods to her.
"Well, he shows his happiness in strange ways." They both know that, but he looks a bit to the side with a momentary cloud over that happy veneer. But he looks back to her and nods, "I like Cassandra, I get along well with her. If you need any help I'd be glad to do what I can. I mean, our conversations tend to be a little one-sided, but she still makes herself known."
That having been said he rubs at the back of his neck thoughtfully. "But where to begin? I followed up some of the leads I had in Bludhaven. There was an import/export business that was participating in illegal operations all over the world. So I tracked down their contacts and saw what I could under the guise of being a tourist."
He takes a breath, "It was fairly elaborate, and a lot of difficult times. Some good fights, I would have loved to had you there, would have made things a lot easier."
He bites his lower lip again as he ponders, "I met a girl who was really great." He confesses with a smile though there's a faint tinge of sadness there, "But things didn't turn out well."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would gently nod her head about the Cassandra stuff, after smiling at the lack of being able to post the traveling online. "Cass is wonderful, she is amazing and is going to accomplish a lot of great things in her life. But... Bruce... he set a poor example for her by just leaving her here without even calling ahead to arrange for it. It comes across a parent abandoning their child because they are 'too much work or trouble'." She shook her head side to side and just lightly exhaled.

"You know that you can call me any time too and I will rush to help you as quickly as I can, even places across the world... I may not have teleportation devices, but I can still get around rather quickly in my old age." She grinned just a bit before letting it blossom further. "I am glad to hear you had a bit of romance on the road too, there is nothing more romantic than meeting a person abroad that you find feelings for. Even if it ends poorly, the memories are treasures to be held onto for a lifetime."

Nightwing has posed:
At her comments about Bruce and Cass she can see it pains him, it causes that subtle shadow to creep into those bright blue eyes of his and his brow to knit. But he looks to her and says simply, "Well I'll try to do what I can on my end, and maybe let her know that he's not abandoning her. It's... just his way." For a moment his features sour a little, assuredly remembering his own time estranged from the Bat. But he shakes his head, presses on.
"I had it mostly under control, Diana. And really if you tell me that I'll start to get lazy. One day it'll be, 'Diana, come help me with these gangsters.' then the next, 'Diana come help me with these ninjas.' and before you know it it'll be, 'Diana, can you help me open this jar of mayo?'" His smile is open, the grin reaching his eyes as he looks to her as he makes light, but even then he'll draw it back in by saying, "But in all seriousness, thank you, Diana. If things come to it, I won't hesitate."
That said he takes a breath and shakes his head as he considers his time in Italy, "It was lovely. And I regret how it ended. But... she didn't deserve to be lied to or to be stood up repeatedly."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would gently nod her head about that last part. "Very few people do deserve that." She said to him in a soft and calming tone to her pleasingly accented voice. "I am sure she will find someone anew who will light up her heart though." A quick and sharp smile was shown then before Diana drew in a breath through her small nose.

"And yes, I will open mayo jars for you too... I have yet to meet one that has been a true challenge for me. Which I believe was the real intent behind the gifts that the Gods bestowed down upon me." Another little grin was shown. "And... please, do know that I'm not 'mad' at Bruce, I am simply disappointed in the way that he did what he did. I do not think that Cassandra faults him for it either, she is the type who would likely fault herself for it somehow... Find a reason to make it be a blame placed on her shoulders, rather than someone else's. She seems to be that type of personality, at least in what little ways I have had the chance to get to know her yet. She is extraordinarily reserved. Most young women open up to me fairly quickly, but... not her."

Nightwing has posed:
At her own wry joke he'll heave a small laugh, shaking his head as he takes another sip of his water. He'll find himself colouring faintly, just a small hint of flush at the tips of his ears as he listens to her. But then he nods, "I understand. He probably has an unassailable reason and argument behind his actions, but that doesn't make it feel any less crummy sometimes." She can tell, probably, the ease with which he produces that statement that he's said it several time in his thoughts before.
But then she speaks on Cassandra herself and he nods, "I like her, she's staggeringly quick and perceptive. It's really amazing." His brow knits and he frowns, "I think of what she must have gone through to become that way and... I get angry, and feel terrible for her."
A moment then he meets her eyes again, "I'll try to spend some time with her and hopefully she'll get more at ease with people." There's a pause and he then adds to her, "And don't worry Diana, nobody can resist your charms for long."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana showed a smile then and she nodded her head gently a single time. "I wish that were so." She said with a bit of noticeable remorse somewhere inside that statement, considering she could think of several moments in her life where her charms were shirked by others. "But still... I will accept your compliment with welcome glee." And she showed another small smile then.

With ah light exhale, Diana sought out her glass of tea again and lifted it once more up to her lips for a sip. "What are your plans coming up now?" She'd ask him then. "Are you returning to Gotham full time? The city has been... peaceful'ish... for Gotham, since the Joker's ridiculous reign of terror ended last." She'd hold the glass of tea between both of her hands upon the top of her knee.

Nightwing has posed:
The young man's own drink is in his left hand, resting on his thigh now and then, though he'll take a sip when his voice gets a little dry. He meets her gaze and smiles a bit, eyebrows inclining as he murmurs, "I touched base with Bruce, told him my plans, he asked me to help with a few things. I figured I would. I think things are at a... good state of equilibrium. I'm still kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop."
He then looks down at his glass of water, then back up at her, as if weighing whether or not to confide this last bit to her. "I did, however..." He pauses, but then presses on with seemingly better resolution. "I had been giving thought to what I would do, with my time now that I'm back, and I've graduated and I should really be getting a career." If only as a cover.
"So," He looks at her and takes a sip, "Bludhaven things are very different than Gotham. The police there are very corrupt. I was thinking of doing what I could, ahem, from the inside. And go to the police academy."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would softly nod her head here and there throughout what Dick was saying, up until he presented that idea of his future job choice. Diana's slender black eyebrows would loft up in modest surprise and a moment later come back down as a smile crossed her red painted lips. "Is that so?" She questioned him, sounding pleased by this. "A member of the Bat family... taking the fight to a more.... conventional and... arguably, legal, route?" That was both a tease and a jab at the same time, mostly because she had a history with Batman and it often involved him upsetting her or pushing her buttons. "I am impressed, Dick." She told him.

A nod was given to him. "I support this decision, should you choose to go for it. You would be an exceptional Officer in the law enforcement field. I believe, with the time and effort put forth and you could rise to the top of it and fix all the horrid corruption that you say has seeped into their ranks. So, if they require some sort of... recommendation, or anything, I will give it to you." She showed a little grin then. "But I imagine that this is probably something you would not want my help with, which also perfectly fine."

Nightwing has posed:
"It'll be an uphill battle," He tells her as he looks to her, warming to the idea with her approval, but then he shakes his head. "And I'm not sure how I'll juggle it, time-wise. But I figure if Bruce can handle things with all the different things pulling on his attention, then I should be able to do this."
Then there's a smile, a small one. "But... I still haven't told him." He breathes in a bit, then adds, "I have no idea how he'll react but... still. Not sure if his disapproval would push me more to do it or not."
Yet at her last few words he gets that small smile again, "You're right, I do kind of want to do this on my own as I can. I think it might be best for me to go in with as few strings attached just to prevent things from being more difficult down the line. I also pondered entering the academy under an assumed identity but that would make the plan a bit too complex and too many points of failure."
A breath is taken, then he meets her eyes, "But thank you, Diana. Your approval does matter to me."

Wonder Woman has posed:
A gentle and single nod was given then and there. "You have earned it, Dick." She told him and showed a small smile to him. "The adversity that you have overcome in life and now look, you are... mid twenties and one of the most shining examples of how Gotham -can- create great citizens who can do great things." Gotham had a stigma about it, afterall, that people who came from it were all crooked crooks, which wasn't a reputation that was easily thrown aside.

"I will be here in the background, cheering you on. As will Bruce and Alfred, and likely many others."
