Date of Scene: 25 July 2017
Location: Genosha
Synopsis: A lunch meeting on the Genoshan coast produces an agreeable trade.
Cast of Characters: Molly Millions, Magneto, Polaris

Molly Millions has posed:
So, there was a message from Blink, basically to give Magneto a heads up as to where she gone. And a few hours later the purple portaller had returned to Genosha, with two cyborgs in tow. It seems that Molly has elected to take up the offer of hospitality, at least for a few days... though no doubt his spies have already reported that the cyborg seems to be absent a lense at the moment, even if details are relatively sketchy so far.

So now it's day. And the younger of the two is no doubt off somewhere, probably with Blink, but Molly? Molly has found a restaurant with outdoot seating at which to find herself a coffee and watch what she can of the water from behind a pair of oversized sunglasses. The sunlight on the water is headache inducing, for her, but she's still human enough to need to eat. At least, out of respect for the Genoshan's, she's not running around with anything but her blades and hasn't done more than played tourist for a couple of days while she recovers.

Magneto has posed:
It's probably safe too say not too much happens on this island without Magneto hearing about it. Or at least-- without his people hearing about it. Magnus is a busy man. Still, the cyborg from the future and the impulsive teleporter are both persons of interest to the elder mutant, and Molly's lunch is pre-empted mid-coffee by the approach of the establishment's manager, "Miss, pardon me, but the Imperator invites you to join him for your lunch at his table up on the terrace."

Said location is a private, shaded nook on a level above but not overlooking the rest of the seaside restaurant, currently occupied by Lensherr and his younger daughter, who may very well have inherited her rather unusual hair color and powerset from him, some say. The modestly sized but finely appointed table before them is arrayed with several fresh seafood dishes, a bowl of salad, and several refreshing beverage pitchers.

A place setting is already prepared for the cyborg, as luck (or planning) would have it. "Please, come, join us." Moments after Molly's arrival, Magnus looks over from quiet conversation with Lorna-- discussing the cyborg's origins, for the curious-- and makes the polite invitation official.

Polaris has posed:
Seated near enough to talk quietly and still afford Magneto the space and respect due to his station in Genosha, Lorna smiles up as the lunchers are invited to join. "Yes, please. The table is more than spacious enough." She offers, rising from her chair to gesture to the available space. Sure enough the green haired woman has her locks down and free about her shoulders, a proud banner of her status as a mutant.

Molly Millions has posed:
Lots of things about this world still confuse the hell out of Molly, but that a smart person doesn't refuse such an offer isn't one of those things. There's a dip of her head in acknowledgment and a grunted 'Thank you' for the manager before she makes her way up.

In her oversized sunglasses and with her fish-belly pale skin that despite Genosha's lovely weather hasn't managed to catch even the ghost of a burn, let alone a tan... Molly's probably far from impressive looking at first glance.

There's a dip of her head by way of acknowledgment and a tight kind of smile as she accepts the offered seat, extending her free hand, with it's tapered false nails and too smooth finger tips towards Lorna with,"Molly." by way of greeting before adding primarily for Magneto,"Thanks for the invite."

Magneto has posed:
In many worlds, the hospitality of the powerful and influential is a fickle and formidable thing, but one only has to look around the futuristic port carved out of the ruins of a slave nation to see the latter. The compassionate humility of both his daughters in running Genosha? Probably forestalls some of the former. Business can be done with such ties, and perhaps even the unattainable attained. It's always good to have realistic goals.

"Indeed, welcome. Help yourself to whatever you like." A polite pause is allotted so that the cyborg can do just that, before Magnus maintains his reputation for directness. "You were injured?" Whether he heard or is discovering it now is probably not immediately clear. "What happened?" He refills his own glass with tea, which also smells of fresh citrus.

Polaris has posed:
It takes Lorna a moment seeing Molly for things to click over. Her eyes glance over her before a glimmer of curiosity is masked and she sits with a warm smile. "If you're diet limits you to specific meals, don't hesitate to ask as well." She adds on to her father's offer and pipes down so she can hear the story first hand as well while she collects a glass of juice to sip at quietly.

Molly Millions has posed:
To her credit, Molly doesn't seem surprised by the directness or his knowledge, for all that she's quite probably distracted by looking up the seafood dishes in her remaining lense before settling on something to eat with a vague kind of smile,"Thank you, but no. Just that fish is... uncommon. At home."

"Yes." a direct question deserves a direct response, after all. The what is a slightly longer pause of consideration,"A reckless mistake. I was paired against an opponent who can control her physical density in a pit fight, and although I won it was not without cost." there's that pause again, there's more to it, even if she doesn't immediately volunteer it.

Magneto has posed:
It's not every day even this particularly unusual little island gets cybernetic visitors from the future, but to his credit Magneto does nothing to hide the curiousity that inspires. Molly's not here because of how well she tans, after all. There's a nod of understanding to the explanations offered, listening and savoring several leisurely bites of the fare on his plate. Underestimating an opponent-- definitely something he grasps. But that's not a story offered unprompted, either. One white brow arches, "And?" He can tell there's something on the tip of her tongue. "I suppose it's not the sort of thing that's easy to replace -now-, is it?" One can tell by the emphasis on now that he quietly finds the double meaning terribly clever.

Polaris has posed:
Glancing sidelong at Magneto, Lorna takes a slow breath. The only thing worse than dad jokes, is a clever dad, who makes jokes. Looking at Molly, the juice is set down. "Density control. That must have been a wonderfully challenging fight." Lorna offers in a friendly tone and settles some fruit and light food on her plate, listening keenly.

Molly Millions has posed:
"It was." Molly agree's with Lorna's assessment, though it's Magneto she answers with a slow breath through her nose,"Three blocks later I had an encounter with a Robin that wanted to arrest me. He utilized an electrostatic charge that overloaded one of my augments. That augments wired to my occipital nerve, and functionally fried out my nervous system. Hitting the ground once I cut myself free didn't exactly help, either.." there's dry humor in the way she adds on that last bit.

"My nanites weren't capable of keeping up with the amount of damage suffered, which is why I had to ask Clarice for assistance." she does raise a hand to the glasses to touch them briefly,"Lucy managed to rebuild the internals... but unfortunately... you're right... Chiba's not exactly around the corner."

Magneto has posed:
Magneto voices monosyllabic agreement with Lorna's assessment of the fight, politely not adding 'For her'. "A convenient alliance indeed. One properly functioning eye may be a handicap, but on a very different level from a.... fried nervous system." To borrow the scientific term from Molly. He quiets a moment and a spare fork levitates into the air between them, shimmering as it discorporates into uncountable fragments, each split tinier than the next.

Another moment's concentration, and a cross-section that resembles the intact lens with the casing removed, if one could recognize the technical architecture of circuits and focusing apparatus, seemingly assembles itself in midair between them. Erik takes a long moment studying it, without really seeming to -look- at it. "I should be able to construct a new one, with the proper raw materials to duplicate the.... exotic materials at work there." A fork just doesn't have the same metallurgical pieces.

Polaris has posed:
Sitting back, Lorna settles her hands in her lap as Magneto reassembles the fork. "A Robin tried to arrest you? I had thought they left criminals for the law enforcement to find. That's interesting to note." She comments, and flicks a glance to her father's construction, considering it, what she might have done differently.

Molly Millions has posed:
The sunlight's not exactly helpful to Molly, though she does take the glasses off, the left lense still intact, the right leaving a gold-green eye similar in coloration to a cat for all its round pupil exposed for all that she raises a hand to shield it,"It would be... appreciated. Though I would have to pay you in trade. These things..." the glasses, from the way she gestures with them,"help. But I had those installed because these are too sensitive without them."

There's that wry kind of smile before she clears her throat,"Apparently he considers me a criminal. And he did leave me... tied to a street light. I... understand that some of thes..." she realizes as she starts to say it that 'costumed freaks' might not be the best words to use right now,"some... people, choose to make a living interfering in others lives? But the lines between legal and illegal in this world seem to be a little... blurry."

Magneto has posed:
The miniature but perfectly to scale and theoretically functional model in silvery hues spins a slow and thorough rotation before them before settling to the middle of the table. Magnus wets his throat with a methodical sip or two, and nods. "I doubt I need to tell you that much established authority is corrupt, or eminently corruptible. Or that mankind's capacity for great and terrible acts too often outstrips the abiity to protect all of a state's citizens. All the helpless or innocent, in general."

This draws a deep and heartfelt sigh from the Master of Magnetism. "Many consider themselves the balance to that ugliness. The arbiter of right and wrong. Some are more capable in the role than others, much like the authority they circumvent." The observations are offered, though with regret, without judgement towards this specific circumstance, or Little Bird.

Polaris has posed:
"Ours is a chaotic world. Where you hail from must be different if you find the odd vigilante jarring. They've become...the best answer we have in some circumstances, and the cause of greater trouble in others. But, that's not a talk for today." Lorna shakes her head and leans in a little to eye the eye on the table. "More to the point, I believe my father can, and would like to help with your eye problem."

Molly Millions has posed:
"Not at all." Molly agree's with Magneto regarding the corruption of authority, grunting quietly to herself without reaching to touch the model as she listens to the two with a vague kind of smile.

"And I am entirely willing to allow him to do so. The remaining one is surgically inset. If it needs to be removed I am amenable for the greater purpose, but with the degree of sunlight here my visual acuity is next to non-existent. As to... vigilantes... I'm not sure I can articulate without potential offense that the concept is... virtually non-existent. People do not welcome the interference of others in their business, by and large... and doing so is a great way to wind up in the vats."

Magneto has posed:
"Such efforts can have rather permanent repercussions here, as well. But people will always stand up to tyranny and oppression again and again over any long enough timeline." There's some dark stubborn pride in that, but no lack of underlying sorrow in the way Magnus speaks of that. The timeline in between being yoked and fighting back with any success can be... quite bleak indeed.

"But yes, trade is agreeable. Even preferable. As far as removing the remaining implant... I doubt that will be necessary." But if it is? There are few indeed capable of more precise work in such a field. "Come to the Palace this evening, and I will see to it." It gives the ample time to eat their fill and take in the scenery-- or see to the endles array of other business they may have.

Polaris has posed:
Seeing things are settled, Lorna picks at her meal and studies Molly again. "It sounds interesting, your world, if technology like yours exists and vigilantes are not needed." For good or ill, she'll ponder that later, doubtless. Looking to her father she asks "Will you need help or should I leave you to it?". Her green eyes study the man a moment, taking time to note the small details about him.

Molly Millions has posed:
"The closest equivalent that I can draw upon cost most of my friends their lives." Molly offers with an acknowledging dip of her head for Magneto's offer, for all the wry smile that curls her lips at the word 'palace'.

It's Lorna she chooses to focus on instead, draining her coffee to give herself a few moments,"I wouldn't say they were not needed." she opts for,"Just that they didn't... exist and I'm not sure I have the words to explain the differences between the two. This world? You have approximately eight billion people. For the entire planet. We have that many in the Sprawl alone. Most food is genetically cloned, formed in vats and exorbitant in price even still... and here even your poorest can afford meat that comes from an actual animal. Here... if I want to see the stars... I walk outside and look up. Home... if I could afford to travel to Freeside an approximation of them existed in the central spindle so that the rich at least had a simulation of the real thing to enjoy."

Magneto has posed:
While parts of what he knows of Molly's timeine may seem orderly, Magneto himself holds little illusions that the evils he's so familiar with were absent. For one thing, certain darknesses have been soundly implied... and for another, no one as cynical as this cyborg comes from idyllic surrounds.

Lensherr is scarcely surprised at the laundry list of new and different travesties, and shakes his head, correcting only one point, "You've not seen how the poorest on this Earth eat, I think. Such poverty, and any relatively comparable overcrowding, remain localized concerns, for now." The Master of Magnetism's somber tones lift somewhat as he turns a half-smile towards his daughter, "I'm certain I can handle it-- but you're welcome to assist nonetheless, if it interests you."

Polaris has posed:
"I can always stand to learn more." Lorna smiles and looks to Molly. "You should enjoy Genosha as much as you can. It had an ugly pasy, but it's becoming something remarkable." Subtly she sets a few more things on Magneto's plate as she rises and gathers up her things. "I would be happy to give you a tour some time."

Molly Millions has posed:
There's not a chime or a ring, though given their abilities it's possible that the electromagnet interference of a call can be sensed as Molly's attention drifts off, throat moving as if she said something without actually opening her mouth or uttering an audible sound.

"Likely not." she does offer aloud at last regarding Magneto's words, before nodding for Lorna's,"So I understand from Clarice. I am grateful for what I've seen of it so far."

She, too, stirs to rise to her feet,"If you'll both excuse me... I need to take this call." she murmurs before wandering off, for all that she's got nothing in her hands and only half the words she utters are any kind of audible. Whee, technology.
