Cast of Characters: Iceman, Luke Cage

Iceman has posed:
It is late afternoon in Harlem, and the people have been speaking about something actually new in the last few days. There was someone new, and while there were a few rumors, a lot of people have seen him as he had been going through town. What is wierd is he almost never seems to drop people off at the Cops or even contact them as the people he had stopped would be spreading he talked to them for a bit, and let them go.

Though the really wierd thing, the person seemed to be made of ice. They say it's wierd as he is translucent like there is no-one inside a suit, but the things he can do seem to just freeze things around him. The shootouts he stopped, the crazy lady that appearead in the fast-food place. He even stopped people from shooting each other, though no-one was hurt he took, and scolded those that were there letting them go without their weapons as is his MO.

Finally... The part you might find the wierdest, is standing leaned against a car talking to a girl... He is right there laughing, and nodding to her. To Iceman he was on a 'break' as he let the moisture in the air come back as he had been using his powers. He leaned on the car just chatting up the lady, and maybe five feet next to them was a man frozen in place. It looked like he could still breath, as he yelled at Iceman to 'get away from his girl', as Bobby grined at the girl, talking a bit more.

Luke Cage has posed:
Luke Cage is Harlem. He knows these streets and the people in them even better than he knows himself. So hearing things going on in his neighborhood doesn't actually sit too well with him. Not when his office is right here in the heart of Harlem and all any heroic interlopers had to do was stop by. Not exactly to get his blessing but, y'know, to at least mention things.

The door to Pop's, or what was Pop's, opens up and out steps the original Hero For Hire himself: Luke Cage. Hulking in size and form, rocking jeans, a shirt and his signature hoodie... Cage takes a moment to glance up and down the street as he makes his way towards it exactly. There's even a bit of a stretch that happens. Not really because he's tired but more because he just needs to do that kind of thing. His body has been weird due to all the unbreakable skin. It's just weird sometimes.

Luke Cage notices the Man of Ice that's nearby and raises an eyebrow. His eyes cut over to the frozen guy and then back towards the other one. He doesn't say anything as he heads up the steps to the street level. He just stands there, standing straight up and down like a solid stature of judgement at both the girl and the Man of Ice.

He'll wait.

Iceman has posed:
The man of ice doesn't seem to notice you, nor does the girl as they keep talking, but the man behind them spots you early on, and his yells change. It turns more into a bargining voice.. "Okay, I will give you my weapons.. I learned my lesson could you let me go I am sorry." he says as he glances Luke's direction. The man of ice turns, and sighs.. "Alright, I can't keep you in there too long." he makes a shivering impression, and chuckles, "Frostbite is rather a pain.." he stops looking at Luke Cage.

He looks at him for a minute.. Okay that was a big dude, realizing as he is thinking about it the person in the ice glanced in his direction he starts again slowly, "You have some time... I wouldn't worry about it." turning to face Luke himself. He smiles, and raises a hand... "Hello... friend?" and watches him carefully, he holds up a hand.. "I don't mean any trouble... This guy was trying to shoot some people. The way he keeps looking at you, I think he knows you.

As the man sighs behind him, as he knew he wasn't going to be let go he falls to silence, and the girls walks up behind the man of ice grinning at him.. "That is Luke Cage.."

Luke Cage has posed:
Luke Cage barely pays any more attention to Bobby or the Girl when the Frozen Kid starts trying to make things happen for himself. It takes him a moment or two in order to realize that things should be done to handle this situation. And it's then that other steps are taken towards the frozen block of criminal. Cage intends to just walk right past Bobby and the Girl.

"Terrence." Cage says to the boy inside the ice. Y'know, as opposed to the Man of Ice. There's a lot of damn ice. But Cage doesn't particularly want there to be too much more ice so he just raises a hand and punches into the ice to see if he can't grab the boy inside by the shirt. He's pretty sure that the block of ice should shatter or crumble beneath his strength.

As this is done, Cage does turn to look at Bobby again. Especially when the girl mentions his name to the Man of Ice. The look on his face is not one that's especially happy that he has to deal with this foolishness so quickly after coming out of the Heroes For Hire HQ.

Iceman has posed:
Bobby watches him walk past, and doesn't say anything for a moment just walking past as he moves to the man in the ice. Finally as you approach it Bobby speaks up, "Go on, I am not sure you should be here for this." as she is carried away by a little ice chair that raises out of the ground catching her sliding away she gives a little bit of a yell, but she is just fine. Bobby watches them not her though he doesn't start anything even after you punch the ice. As you haul back.. "I wouldn't.." but he is too late as he hits the block of ice around the boy. Bobby winces and looks at Cage, "Ow.." as the ice around the boy does crack, but hitting it you realize it isn't just one layer of ice.

Around the boy are several sheets of compacted ice... All solid with just a little room an impact has to go through each one other then the first.. Though Luke Cage is strong, abnormally strong and punches through most of the layers.. There is a hand size hole where he punched, with cracks all around it, but the first punch did not get through all the way though another one would do it. Bobby is actually really surprised by this, but finally speaks up.. "Listen.. I can just release him... I mean as long as he leaves his guns I don't mean to 'hold' him or nothin.."

Though seeing your punch he does back up a bit.. That was not normal, Bobby was glad he had time to reinforce it earlier.. The area around them also seemed to get colder as Bobby finally sighs.. "You could of hurt him... if you had been stronger the compression might of done some kind of damage.." he shakes his head talking to himself now, "Could of at least introduced yourself, other then... swing" as he mock punches. The ice you punched goes from being there ice around him, to gone as a wind blows by you not strong at all even to a normal human just a side effect of releasing the ice to air. Bobby glances over... "Better?" as the man would be dropped, gun and all onto the ground as the ice held him up a little bit.. He didn't mention this time that it was because inside of their was cold, and he didn't want to hurt him.

Luke Cage has posed:
Cage doesn't say anything for the longest time. Mostly because he can't believe he couldn't punch through some stupid ass ice. His eyebrow raises for a moment before the ice goes away. It's only then that Cage leans down to grab the gun and he crushes it in the time it takes him to stand up straight again. It's tossed to the side and he looks dead ass at Terrence. "Go home." He doesn't sound like he's playing. He doesn't look like he's playing. And just to make sure things go the way he wants them to? "I'ma' call ya' mama in ten minutes. You better be standin' right beside her when I do." And that's it. That's all he's got to say about that.

On to more important things. Well, more annoying things. Cage finally turns around to face Bobby and just narrows his eyes. Again. He shakes off a bit of ice that's on his hand from when he started going to town on the ice. "I got this." Luke gives a quick little nod of his head around to indicate everything around him. "If you wanna' help? Cool. Help. But I don't need you turning my neighborhood into a Winter Wonderland just because you can." Luke Cage doesn't particularly think it's 'cool' to go around freezing people but that's neither here nor there. And why he's acting the way he does towards Bobby right now.

Cage takes a step back in the direction of the Heroes For Hire HQ. Which still vaguely resembles a Barber Shop. Kind of. "We good?" That's the only question he has. Well, it sounds more like he's just waiting for Bobby to agree to Cage's law that has been laid down. But it's still a question that has been tossed into the air for answering purposes.

Iceman has posed:
Bobby looks at him as he just sends the man home again just as he did. At least they were on the same page so he relaxes a little as the man that was released runs off. Bobby does give him a little wave turning to look back at Luke Cage. He didn't speak when Luke did he just stood there, and watched him as he listened though the iceform seemed to be grinning. He then starts nodding, maybe to Luke... "Start off with an ice pun good." and chuckles a bit. He doesn't answer his question right away though till he was asked if he was good. He takes a step forward,

"Well.. Let me summerize this.. You don't like Winter Wonderland? I mean who doesn't like Winter Wonderland." he sighs, and shakes his head. "I am just trying to do the right thing, and people like us.. forget sometimes what it is about." He shrugs, and looks at Luke, "I am no good at explaining it, but yea.. we are ice cool." as he takes another step forward.

He continues talking as he approaches.. "So let me guess... You are.. Mr. Punch! Or umm... Strong guy! Not many could punch through my ice like that!" He looks around a bit, the air heats back up as he does so... "My name's easy to remember.. Iceman. No idea why.. I think it is because of my cool personality." and he offers a hand out to him.

Luke Cage has posed:
Cage looks even more annoyed now that the Man of Ice is trying to have a conversation with him. He's more akin to just saying what he needs to say and letting these people scamper off back to doing whatever it is they do. But when Harlem is getting turned into a snowball festival, Cage feels like he has to step up and make his presence known. Especially, to the white-- er, Iceman.

"My name is Luke Cage. Ask about me." This statement is said without even the slightest bit of an ego. The humble way in which he states this makes it sound like it's just a fact. It's just the way things are. These streets know all about Luke Cage. And he's pretty sure that questioning any of the people around here will get Bobby the answers he needs into who or what Luke Cage is. It's no secret. Everybody knows.

It takes him a long moment of staring at the outstretched hand of ice and eventually reaches out to give it a shake. Reluctantly. His hand is already cold from punching through most of the ice block a few moments before. Now he's shaking pure ice. "Just remember what I said. These kids out here? They don't know what they're doing. I'm gonna' make sure they learn from their mistakes. Before they get rolled into a system that's stacked against them." Cage nods back towards the Ex-Barbershop. "So if you're gonna' be doin' whatever it is you do, instead of lettin' 'em run off to warm up somewhere and get back on their dumb choices horse. Drop 'em off here. I'll handle it."

Iceman has posed:
The ice form just walked behind him, and listened to what little the man said, though he noted he spoke when it came to the others, and he nodded understanding well just a bit. He was from a community as well though a bit different then this current one. He chuckles, as he thinks about it... "So are you like the protector of this area? I mean I see no cape, no mask.. I mean you just walk around as you are." he glances around a bit. "It seems at least you are a protector, could of used ya against the crazy lady with the huge axe though." and he chuckles again a bit "It was a huge axe... Like three feet at least.", still following thinking about what to ask.

He continues though, "I want to know you won't hurt em more then is needed. It seems you are the good guy round these parts, though I don't want to hurt people that isn't why I am doing this." he waves his hand to all of this. He thinks a bit more, "oh... and are you a mutant? I mean or agumented or something? People can't do what you just did... You understand that.. I mean a small truck couldn't do what you just did." he shakes his head, "I know what.. three other people who might of been able to do that."

Luke Cage has posed:
"I'm here to protect Harlem and the people that live here. Even if that means protecting them from themselves. I ain't in the business of hurting nobody that don't deserve it." Cage offers a small shrug to follow that up. "I'll keep an eye out for So I Married An Axe Murderer." He doesn't know if Iceboy managed to take her out or not but he's pretty sure he will when he gets his hands on her.

"Listen. I was normal for a long time. Now I ain't. And now I do what I can do to make this neighborhood a better place." That's about all he's going to say on the topic. He's not into giving all these impromptu interviews or even talking about his past. He's the kind of guy that's destined to move forward. Always.

Iceman has posed:
Bobby follows listening, and nods, "I am glad to hear.. I mean have you heard there are some people just killing Mobsters in Gotham.. In the news." he shakes his head at that.. "And with her axe she would be another one of those three.." he warns shaking his head. "Whoa.. wait... what is that!" he jogs ahead and points at the 'Hero's for Hire' sign. "You have a sign! Look at this... Are there more of you well not you specificlly.. Unless there is more then one of you?" and grins at him looking at the place as a whole.

He shakes his head, and thinks about it looking up he sighs.. "Listen.. I got to go, but if you need me just call, I will be around... Just run towards the shooting and you should find me!" he waves his arm, and a cape appears infront of him.. "I am the ice the slinks through the night!" and chuckles again he steps to the side, and a one foot slide appears. He kicks off a little, and as he slides forward it expands infront of him, and just disapears behind him as he starts sliding away. He goes around in a loop a couple of times. "Really, it was nice meetin' ya Mr. Cage... I will do that, but becareful what you wish for." and he laughs a bit as the slide straightens taking him up, and it looks like east.

Luke Cage has posed:
"..."

Cage turns around since the Iceboy has decided to slide away and he pulls the door open to Heroes For Hire. As he does, he gets out his phone and puts it up to his ear. "Mrs. Jenkins? It's Luke. Is Terrence home?"

Cage goes inside and closes the door behind him. Moments later, the Closed sign is flipped to Open.
