| Cast of Characters: | Superman, Nikki Hawkins
|
- Superman has posed:
Nikki ends the night, probably stayed over for a little bit. She's leaving the place alone. This can be a scary thing for Gotham. Especially when a voice behind her says, "Excuse me!"
Although when she goes to turn around, the person isn't standing in front of her. They are however floating slightly above her. Superman floats there, the red cape just swaying in the gentle Summer breeze a little bit. "I was wondering if you do freelance work?" he asks and clearly in his hands is some sort of device, or piece of technology. Presumably the job in question.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
Nikki does, indeed, give a squeak when she's suddenly hearing a voice behind her, but when she turns and spots Superman floating behind her she gives a little grin. "Hey! Nikki knows who you are! She's seen you in the Daily Planet that her friend Clark writes in!" Then she settles herself a bit, clearing her throat and all that. "But, uhm, yes. Nikki can do freelance work." Looking at the device in his hands, she tilts her head one way and then the other. "What seems to be the trouble, Mister Superman?"
- Superman has posed:
Floating downward, red boots touch the ground. In his hands is a pair of sensors. They're connected like a pair of eyes or something that works in tandem. They connect to something, the contents held in a see through piece of plastic. Obviously some kind of place holder. It looks like he's building some kind of guard bot of some kind. "I'm trying to make sure the sensors are very precise. I could use another set of eyes on them to make sure they're working up to snuff. Ever work with alien and earthly tech before?" yes that's a serious question.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
Nikki blinks a couple times. "Nikki works with Earth tech all the time. She's only worked with a little bit of alien tech... but if Mister Superman wants to put his trust in Nikki, she'll help him as best she can!" Her eyes are practically LED lights at this point as she looks at what he's showing her and talking about wanting to make sure the sensors are precise. "What's the target for the sensors? Anything specific or...perhaps a specific directional look?" She's yet to reach out and touch it but goodness gracious if she doesn't want to just rip it out of his hands to poke and prod at it a little herself. "Nikki has a place she can work on it with Mister Superman if he wants to come with her?"
- Superman has posed:
Superman gives a nod as he waits for Nikki to explain a few things. "This is something I'm having a few experts look at. You're one o fthe first, I can't have any miscalculation. So, experts upon experts double checking eahc other," and then he looks at Nikki for another, "Well, it's more complex. I need it to decipher people that are friendly, people that are not and every little thing in between," and he knows that's a large order despite how simplistic it sounds on paper.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
Nikki frowns a little. She knows tech like that exists, but she doesn't know if she can say that to him. Then again, he's a hero. Red Robin is a hero. Heroes work together don't they? She isn't aware of the sort of love/hate relationship the Bat family may or may not have with Superman. "Give me...ten seconds...let Nikki see if she can maybe swing by a friend's place. We might be able to get Mister Superman something really, really close to what he's looking for!" And she pulls out her phone and shoots off a text message. Which may take a moment to be responded to. "Wait. How did Mister Superman hear about Nikki?"
- Superman has posed:
Sky blue eyes look at her as he waits for her to take in those details, "What friend?" Superman asks as he's unsure what she's looking for. "I have friends that have spoken of your work," and he says all of this without blning an eye. A few people can mention it to her, so he will let Nikki figure out who.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
"Oh. Uhm. Nikki's boyfriend, actually. Tim Drake. She thinks he can suggest something to help but he might be busy..." Busy playing Red Robin and patrolling Gotham for the moment. So Nikki looks again at the robotic parts that Superman is holding. "Nikki can't do much without her tools. So... does Superman wanna come with her to her place to work or ... is he asking her to take it and work on it herself for a bit?" She's not entirely sure, as it seems Superman isn't really willing to part with it. Or maybe he is and she just hasn't picked up on that yet.
- Superman has posed:
"What would you suggest?" he asks looking at her curiously. The only gamble abou tTim is who he's connected to. "Don't tell him I'm the party in question. Say it's a hero," Tim can narrow down the field, but it won't be concrete. Not unless Nikki slips with the details. She might do that, but Superman does take the gamble with her.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
"Nikki would suggest letting her take it and work on it. She can take a number or some way to contact him and get back to him when she's done. Meet up somewhere and talk about it more." Nikki hadn't named the man before her, but she might have dropped some glorious hints. That's just how Nikki's mind operates and it would be a shame to hold such against her. "Tim and Nikki work for WayneTech...might be some higher things that they can look into when poking around. Nikki made a robot what can talk to people who have issues like her... so making this detect friendly people shouldn't be too hard..."
- Superman has posed:
There's only one reason he's reluctant to let her go. The finite work may be harder to track. Superman knows hiw os technological signatures. Much like artists, builders have their own hallmarks. These can be easy to decipher based upon technique, materials, angles and other small details. Together these bits do put together a signature.
These bits can be harder to trace when the work becomes finer. This project there's a lot of finer touches involved. So, finding Nikki's signature without watching her build would be a difficult thing to track. Not impossible, but a lot of time with a slow and steady gazed, microscopic vision and hopefully a discerning eye.
"You can take it, but document your work please," even if the notes aren't the best it can still bea roadmap to a starting point.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
"Nikki promises she'll take really good care of it and will document all the work she does to it..." The woman says this and then smiles. "But how will Nikki get a hold of him to let him know when she's finished?" Asking this much before holding her hands out to be handed the piece. She's really excited, but she knows she must be careful - especially if there's already alien technology within it!
- Superman has posed:
"Thank you. I don't doubt it," he says with complete honesty. It's him just still not wanting to part with it. He will. Waiting for her to take the device. "How about I check in on you in seventy-two hours. See where you're at. You can give me a tenative timetable. Then I can catch back up with you, see where we're at and go from there," he knows she's holding technology a lot of people would kill to get their hands on. He is putting a degree of trust here. Plus, superman did seek out someone outsid eof the usual circles. That, alone, gives him some opportunity to move about.
- Nikki Hawkins has posed:
"That sounds good. Should we agree to meet here then? Nikki likes this spot. They have good coffee..." She says this with a smile. He can tell she is being very careful with the device he's given her. She might just treat it like a newborn baby - since that's sort of what it is to her. Only new technology. Must not ruin it! "Seventy two hours. We'll have a report for him here."
- Superman has posed:
"We can meet here," he says agreeing to that. Then he starts to float upward for a moment. "The clock is ticking, Miss Nikki," he says honestly letting her just take the "newborn" off to learn about it.
