What's that in the sky

Location:	Breakstone Lake - Xavier's School
Synopsis:	Bats flock to the lake. Chaos and confusion ensues.

Polaris has posed:
After an extended heat wave, dark clouds accompanied by thunder started to roll in over the lake. But it was still pleasant with a light breeze and so kids continued to play in and around the lake.

Lorna had not been seen around Xavier's much lately, and seems to be mostly keeping to herself when she is seen. This afternoon is no different and she can be seen skulking around, dressed in strange goth clothing, darker than she usually wears even. Today she is clothed in a short black skirt with an irregular hem, and a short deep purple crop top with a low spiked neckline shaped like bat wings. She stands strangely still on the docks, watching people play, unmindful of the strong wind that ruffles her unkempt hair.

Emma Frost Is also here of course in swimw wear at least for herself. She still has a cape mostly cause that wind is getting cold.. but she's keeping an eye on things when she senses somethings wrong.. So she walks over slowly now her mind does brush against loran's but she dosn't go in mostly surfact check to make sure she's okay " Lorna! " She calls out

Wolverine has posed:
Logan notices the change in motiff. It leads him questioning a lot of things. He does wonder if this is the real deal or another fake. For now, he gives it the benefit of the doubt. Pulling out a cigar, he laces it in the mouth. Next is a stick match that strikes the bottom of his cowboy boot.

Puffing, the orange cherry comes to life and it glows as he savors that family taste. He leans in the black tanktop and jeans. Fall is coming, the trees are changing color, but the heat is still about. Usually.

The breeze coming by with the dark clouds, there will be a small chill in the air soon. He doesn't change yet.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane pauses no attention to Emma as she brushes over her mind. It is definitely Lorna, but..Something seems off, as if she's in some kind of trance, as if she's not entirely there, her mind miles away.

Logan is also largely ignored as she continues to stare straight out over the lake. The wind is really picking up and a few drops of rain can be felt as the clouds start to boot out the sky. People are starting to spirit leave the lake as the wind picks up but Lorna continues to just stare blankly out into the lake.

Suddenly black winged creatures can be seen fluttering into the sky. At first glance they look like crows although the wing shape is off.

Someone shrieks and points. "Ahhh..bats!"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost Looks over towards logan " Logan take care of the kids " She says frowning as she walks a big closer " LORNA " She growls not she's gonna dive into that mind start to see what's going on.. something not good is happening and she's pretty sure this lorna is part of it.. So she's gonna check inside and seee what's going on

     Her cloak flutters but part of her powerful mind also keeps an eye on the bats ready to put up a Tk shield for the kids at a moments notice the advantage of being an omega class mutant.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan growls a little bit the second someone yells about bats. "First it's flamin' horses n' now this. I'm makin' sure Chuck's family didn't build this on an indian burial ground," he growls a bit.

Emma starts to yell out and he nods, "Everyone inside!" he signal and tries to use the cigar as a sign in the darkening area. Ocean blue eyes look to make sure people are coming to him. That's his purpose at the moment. Although once they're safe, Logan might take a swing.

Polaris has posed:
The kids don't hesitate to leave the lake, mostly because there are so many silly superstitions about bats. However they don't seem to be attacking anyone at all, they're just..Fluttering around. Maybe the sudden lack of sunlight or increase in insects at this time of year near the lake triggered them?

Either way Lorna continues to stand very still, totally transfixed on the bats...Many of whom seem to be making a beeline towards her..

Emma Frost Frowns and walks forward She will start to help Laura's mind she isn't doing much but more shielding her from that influence trying to direct her while speaking << Lorna what's going on! >> her mind reaches out the first time she's met something like this the hellfire club dabbles in magic and other things that and the black queen is very powerful in that aspect so emma is not new to this.. She's not making any big moves more probing and checking looking for cracks while tryint ti figure out what's going on

Wolverine has posed:
Logan thinks this is that fake vampire Lorna. Past memories run through his mind as the kid s head toward the house from the lake. Arleady eh's scanning the yard for anyone wooden he can make into a stake. He's done with this vampire.

Polaris has posed:
Emma will find it hard to penetrate Lorna's mind completely, protected by a mysterious magical presence. She is not mind controlled but is definitely under some sort of influence. When she tries to reach out to Lorna, the green hair woman blinks, influence slipping just a bit and she turns towards Emma, looking confused.

"Emma...?"

Just then, a flock of bats breaks away and swarms Emma. This time they do seem to be trying to attack her with sharp teeth and claws.

A smaller group of bats start to swarm Lorna as well and rather than flee, she folds out a hand so that it can land on her wrist.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost will snort like she's annoyed more than anything.. Just putting up a Tk shield while still holding out her hand well mental hand for lorna <<I'm here something is affecting you dear . Let me help " She starts to apply her power not to fight the thing she knows better than that no she's going a little more sneaky she's feeding power into lorna to give her the owner of the mind clarity while she figures out if this is vampire or mental control lorna.

Wolverine has posed:
Seeing the bats swarm Emma manes she's doing something, but then the way they break off confirms another matter. They're obviously being guided. Claws come out with a "shnkt!" the claws come out.

Logan tries to slash at the few animals coming toward him. He wants to just cut through any of the creatures coming for him. He will try to avoid getting cut up too badly. Right now, he's trying to avoid anything trying ot harm him or turn him into something worse.

Polaris has posed:
The bats screech, veering away from Logan as he claws at them, and they're unable to penetrate Emma's shield.

However it seems that Lorna was their target all along as one manages to land on her wrist, claws digging into flesh. In her current state of mind she doesn't seem to notice the blood trickling down her hand but just stares at the bat as it crawls up her arm and seems to whisker something in her ear before it and the others fly off.

Emma's voice manages to reach her than, if only partially thanks to the magic shielding and she blinks, glancing around as the bats flee, a ray of sun peeking through the layer of grey clouds that start to break apart now.

"Huh? Logan, Emma, what's going on..?"

Wolverine has posed:
Logan will continue to claw and the second he seees one land on Loran he will try to stab it, flick it or anything else to it without harming Lorna. As the sun appears the bats start to fly off.

"Med bay. Now," he says as Logan trusts nothing about those bites. And the med bay also has straps. Wanda wanders around the mansion these days. Logan will ask her if she can exercise anything vampiric out of Lorna if necessary.

But Logan will not move until Lorna sees hself to the med bay.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost Blinks as she cocks her head she searches with her mind " It would seem somebody has you under thier control dear " She forwns she stays a bit away her shields still up but she has her hands on her hips . Something tells her this is not over

Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane frowns, looking scared for some reason, and rather than co ply she shakes her head, backing away. the two of them and towards the edge of the lake. "No..Stay away from me!" she seems confused and scared, the sudden rush of winds lifts open her black shawl, giving the appearance of batwings as she rises into the sky and flies off instead.
