A Personal Invite
Date of Scene: 23 October 2024
Location: Angelica Jones' Apartment, Morrisania
Synopsis: Summry needed
Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Firestar

Wolverine has posed:
There's a knock at Angelica Jones's door. IF she asks them to come in, they won't. Again. Just another knock. If she looks at the peep hole, there's nothing to see at all. Someone's holding their finger over it. They're forcing her to open the door.

Logan stands there in a white tux, same color button up shirt, with a black tie against those. Black slacks that fit the tie. The shoes are freshly shined and polished. People can practically see themselves in them. In his hand is a black envelope, sealed. He holds it out to Angelica.

"The important ones got personal invites," he says and waits for her to either take the envelope or invite him in.
Firestar has posed:
Making her way to the door, she pauses as she notes feet at the door and a finger over the peep hole. She sighs softly and wonders what wise guy is playing at on the other side of the door.

While she doesn't draw a lot of energy forward, there is enough on her index finger to set a would be trouble maker screaming. The door opens and she keeps the charged finger at her side, dismissing the power without using it.

Looking him up and down she shakes her head with a smirk and tells him,"I'd ask whose funeral, but I am afraid you'd have an answer." She takes the offered envelope and motions him inside,"I'm glad to hear I am important though."
Wolverine has posed:
Iniside the enevelop is an invitation. It's for an event called "The Solstace Ball" and it's a party. Black Tie affair would be an understatement. Mutant, and mutant allies, are the only invitees. The event takes place at the Lux and it's closed off to the general public. Clearly, someone's putting money into this event. "I wanted to be sure ya got the invite n' ya always have been that importatn."
Firestar has posed:
Opening the envelope, she studies the invitation for a few moments. She studies it and raises a brow,"Formal attire and at The Lux. You wanting to see me terribly uncomfortable?" she asks with a light teasing and she sets the envelope on the counter and indicates the table or the living room area,"I appreciate being important. I do. I appreciate the in person invite as well."
Wolverine has posed:
"I can pay fer yer outfit. In full," Logan says firmly as he goes inside the apartment iwth her. Those ocean blue eyes watching her. "I'm puttin' together an event 'cause people, mutants, could use it. An excuse to party n' just cut loose. Booze is even free," Logan looks at her and Angelica can tell he's trying. Logan is trying to bring a lot of people together here.
Firestar has posed:
She smiles and shakes her head,"It's all right. I can manage clothing. Just teasing a little." she assures him,"I know a few places that can fit me. I need to look at a few options anyway. I have extra since someone took care of my rent for a year."

She chuckles softly and adds,"Party is good. Free booze is a plus. I hear stories about the owner of that place. I am guessing they must be less than truthful?"
Wolverine has posed:
"I wonder who that was," Logan says with a smirk and he looks to her curiously for a moment. Then the hard part comes forward.

"Most of what ya heard, is probably true. I put enough money to get protections n' assurances, but the owner...let's just say, I don't see him goin' to Sunday Service. Leave it at that," Logan just says giving some details but not everything. His gaze rests on Angelica for a moment.

"Safety was my top concern then the booze," he admits.
Firestar has posed:
"I wonder." she replies with a smirk.

The smirk fades when he pretty much confirms that the stories are true. She looks away and is quiet thoughtfully,"Not saying no, but I won't say yes for sure." she finally comments.

She walks over to the bedroom door and pulls a new costume for him to see,"My look in Canada. I wear it with the League now. I don't know. I love the mutants, not the concept of a bar owned by a fallen angel and lord of Hell as it were."
Wolverine has posed:
"I went wit' the Devil I know," Logan admits. "He works by rules. Money, too," Lu (said like Lou) has his vices. "I understand the apprehension. If I didn't have the guarantees, I'd be justas untrustin'." he knows the Devil. How he works. It's why Logan trusts it by circumstances. And he will comment on the costume, "I like it better than the first. A lot," he admits. Those ocean blues slip back to her.
Firestar has posed:
She nods,"I get it." Looking at her costume she tells him,"I need to get changed. I have Watchtower duty in about an hour. I'll think about what you said. Thank you again."
Wolverine has posed:
Logan nods and sees himself out. "Til' next time darlin'," he's ad to go. However, Duty calls. And sometimes that call stops for no one.
