- Superman has posed:
"BOOM!" that's how everything begin this sunny afternoon. A loud explosion that can be heard for miles. They shake at about half of the distance. Windows shatter, crack or break at a quarter. A second "BOOM!" roars seconds later. The source of the second is a crater embedded in the road, causing asphalt and everything else to splinter with spider web cracks that stretch outward.
A human looking hand reaches out from the wreckage. Picking himself up is Superman. The red and blue uniform there. He moves his neck from side to side. It's rare for something to hit him like that.
The source of that first boom, that's what casually floats to him. Something Superman calls, "Version One," and it looks kind of like Superman. The uniform is a little different, it has a high blue collar, kind of like a body suit. Most of the legs are black, but a red accent starts around the mid-thigh sprawls upward. The inside of the suit is that classic Superman blue. They have a red cap that feeds into their own crest. This thing's superman shield is a little different. Clearly it's some kind of inspiration, but it's like seeing a different artist's take on the same image when compared against Superman's.
Superman sighs. "You weren't something I created. You just stole the notes," he says firmly. The two entities have a stare down. Something is about to happen.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane is giving herself an afternoon out on the town because why not? She knew Clark was busy with some things and a little self-care isn't a bad idea. Of course, nothing ever really stays peaceful in Metropolis. Not when there's a Superman about. The first boom catches attention, the second one sends people sort of scrambling. Ducking for cover and making sure there isn't going to be a third even more devestating boom after the second one.
Lois - unphased at this point - simply walks out onto the sidewalk from the bistro she had just finished eating lunch at. Her gaze shifting over to the direction of where she was sure the noises were coming from. While other people are running away, she'll begin to walk towards. Ever so curious as to what's going on and why it's happening here of all places.
Ah. Superman. And...also Superman? No. Not really Superman. Different. In color and looks....maybe some similarities but overall...you can defeinitely tell them apart.
She wants to know what's going on...so she continues to walk closer.
- Superman has posed:
Version one is humanoid, but it lacks anything skin. Oh, it has a human face, features, even what sort of looks like hair. However, it's all black. Like it doesn't know how to differeniate between the suit and flesh. Or maybe it just finds the whole thing to be irrelevant. Over their eyes floats a yellow visor, something looks to be made out of energy. Maybe something high tech like STark Design.
The pair look at each other and the entity takes the first swing. Superman's quick to dodge, and that's when the flury of strikes, dodges and counters beign.
A flash of red light causes the strikes to stop and the machin jerks toward the ground. Bits of silver gleam underneath an opening in the black portions of the arm. Slowly it starts to seal up.
"I don't know what I am," the entity speaks and it sounds like Superman. Sort of. The voice is cold, logical, devoid of anything. Like something has done a horribly impressive job at replicating the voice. "I know what you are. You're irrelevant," a flash of yellow flows from the entity's hand and it hits Superman in the chest knocking him back a ways.
Superman smiles, "You're not the first to say that. Still here," and he holds up his hands. He's waiting for this thing's next move. Trying to play a little more defense now.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Now Lois just wishes she had some popcorn because this is getting interesting. A tilt of her head while she makes it to the corner across the street from where the two are fighting. "You're going to cost Metropolis a lot of money you keep this up, Supes..." She says it aloud not sure if she can be heard or not. Seems to be a battle of the egos here - or something gone awry. She hasn't really figured it out yet.
- Superman has posed:
The pair begin a stare down until there's something different. "You're going to cost Metropolis a lot of money you keep this up, Supes..." and that's when the entity stops. An arm extends toward the source. Yellow energy swells. "Weakness," they speak. Energy launches toward Lois. And that's when a rush of wind washes over her. She'll barely see Superman take the shop and then fly off back and to the left. The building Superman goes into cries out in a cacophony of noise. Glass shatters, wood, plaster, and everything else in many walls breaks away. A silence settles between everything.
A rumbling starts to eminate from that same building. Superman pushes forward hitting the entity at full speed. When they collide Superman's a flurry of punches before pointing the thing to the ground. Superman strikes down at the chest. Another blow. Again. And again. Before long, Superman's fist is inside the thing's chest. He pulls something out. It glows in his hand for aa second before it winks out. The thing looks like a love child between an industrial light and a battery.
Superman looks around to make sure everything is okay. A second later he presses his ear, "I'm going to need a clean up. Alien tech, maybe something else. We need eyes on it," he says firmly. A second later the thing glows a blue then winks out of existence. The League is known for having a teleporter. And there stands Superman breathing hard, a bruise forming on his cheek. He twists his head again just getting used to a rare sensation: pain.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane didn't flinch. Not at all.
Okay. Maybe a little.
Then Superman saves the day again and the next moment or two is a blur of sounds, fisticuffs, and then the thing Superman was fighting is down for the count. Lois gives a pause in her brain. A countdown before breathing again and then she rushes towards Superman. One hand lifts to touch against that bruising cheek.
"You're hurt..." She offers. Almost like an obvious statement. "What was that thing?"
- Superman has posed:
Superman flinches a little and lets out a hiss-like noise. "It is tender." He looks at her for a moment, "A project that was hijacked and morphed somehow. The question is 'by who', Miss Lane," he admits. "I take it you want an exclusive?" Superman asks and he looks at her. Sky blue eyes staring at the empty space where the entity once lay.
- Lois Lane has posed:
"Only if the exclusive is with you, Superman." Lois offers in a calm voice. Her hand retracts from his cheek and it's then that she gives a little frown. "You grabbed something from within the entity. I saw you rip it out. What is it?" Asking this because she is trying to distract herself from worrying over the bruising on the cheek of the Man of Steel. Finally, however, it slips. "We should go get you checked out..." A pause. "Take me home?"
- Superman has posed:
"Power source," he says honestly and lets her see it. She may not recognize it, but Lois can quickly surmise that it looks like either a power source or a major plug. "I didn't want to damage the processor," he says honestly.
"I'll be fine, Miss Lane," he looks at Lois and smiles softly. "I can still escort you home or to the office," and he will pull her close. A second later and they're in the air. Lois can see the bruise.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane has absolutely no clue. But she does nod after he shows it to her. "That makes sense. Keeping it intact will likely lend you a better chance to source it." Offering this much before she's pulled close. Once close, they're up in the air and even with the choices given she simply says, "Home will be fine." Because she knows what will happen. He'll take her home, place her on that open balcony and then fly off again. Moments later, he'll walk in from the front door but not as Superman. As Clark Kent.
This is just her life now.
- Superman has posed:
And everything happens almost like Lois predicts. He drops her off, rushes off. It only differs when Clark walks in. He begins, "Sorry Lois I--" and then the visage of Clark ends. He takes off the simple trilby hat on his head and then the glasses. standing there in his grey suit so she could take a look at him. The bruise looks like Clark got into a fight at a bar, or restaurant, and he took a good punch as a result. Nothing some ice, or frozen peas, along with time can cure.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane is already at her freezer, putting ice into a freezer bag, closing it up and then wrapping that in a towel. Superhuman or not, she's not letting ice directly press against skin. "Shush you." She says as she approaches him just when he takes off the hat and glasses, gently pressing the pack to his cheek. "This will hopefully help it not get too swollen... though I still do not understand why or how it was able to hurt you..." This much more and then she motions. "Come on. Sit down. I'll order some food in..."
- Superman has posed:
"Superman's super human, he's not invulnerable. I can feel pain. They just have to hit -really- hard," he says and doesn't fight the care. This is one of the few times Clark is not shushing her away. Saying he'll heal. Clark knows this spooked her a little. and so, Clark moves to sit on the couch with her. A soft smile on his face, "So. Bad interview?" he asks already trying to come up with a cover story.
- Lois Lane has posed:
"Yeah. Interviewing some bystandard at a local cafe, someone tried to punch me and you got in the way." Lois offers as she scrolls through her phone on a food delivery app trying to pick something out for dinner. "He saves the day once again..." Then she's plopping down next to him. Glad he's not fighting off the care she's trying to give. "Eventually I'll get the real story.."
- Superman has posed:
"What do you mean?" Clark asks to Lois's final comment. "I'm sorry this isn't like the time I spent too much time in front of a Sun," he admits. That situation created an emergency vacation to determine why Clark looked like he spent a week on a beach. Sky blue eyes look back to her and he nudges her leg as they sit next to each other. "I'll heal," he says softly, just trying to make her feel better.
- Lois Lane has posed:
"That I'll get the real story from Superman soon?" Lois offers. Cause she's not going to interview him -now- while he's sitting on the couch suffering discomfort. "Orange chicken sound good?" Obviously ordering chinese food while they just sit there. "I know you'll heal. It's not about that." Not...entirely about that...Lois just hates that she's helpless even to try and fix him cause he so rarely needs it.
- Superman has posed:
Sky blue eyes look toward Lois, "You can worry abou tme. You can tend to me Lois. My physiology is similar to a human's,"" he gives a smile and nods. "Make mine General Tao. I feel like something spicy," he gives a smile the turns to kiss her cheek softly. He'll hold back a wince. Just the stinging sensation. Then he reachs out a hand. "What is it?"
- Lois Lane has posed:
"You so rarely get hurt. I know it happens...but hardly often. Bullets bounce off you for crying out loud..." Lois says as she finishes making the order for delivery. She squeezes his hand. "And even now I just feel...helpless. There's not a lot I can do to help you heal. So it's weird that you're hurt at all and I feel...useless." Offering that, because she can't hide anything from him. Their relationship doesn't work like that. Not to her.
- Superman has posed:
"Yes. They do," Clark chuckles. "Company. Ice. Maybe a whole bottle of tylenol," he gives a soft smile. "Well, I'm not invulnerable. With magic it's worse," he warns her. Clark's had a few burns because of that. The sky blue eyes look at her. Then he lifts her hand to his lips. Pressing a soft kiss to it, he gives a smile. "I'll be okay. Just be my wife?" he asks. The term slipping, she's not that yet.
- Lois Lane has posed:
Lois Lane blinks and glances to him, then she smiles so much it shows in her eyes. "I will, Smallville. For now and for always." This and then she shifts to lean her head on his shoulder. Just to exist together for a moment. She'll get him tylenol in a minute. Right now she just wants to bask in them being together.
