Date of Scene: 10 December 2024
Location: Mel's Diner - Breakstone
Synopsis: Willow apologizes to Wanda, and takes the first step into her future with magic.
Cast of Characters: Willow Rosenberg, Scarlet Witch

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow was making her way down the list of people she owed apologies to.

It wasn't quite the same as having two personalities in her brain anymore - but close. Whenever she tried to avoid certain things, her 'conscience' made her address what the real reason was. Dark Willow was always at the edges of her awareness, keeping her true. As long as there was a space for her to be, she was content. In fact, Dark Willowmade her life more ..real. Whole.

She had been putting this apology off. But eventually she had to pull up her Birkenstocks and face Wanda.

Sitting at a table, near the corner, Willow was playing with her spoon, stirring her coffee around and around. Worrying that Wanda wouldn't come. Even as she hoped in a bit of her brain she hoped Wanda wouldn't come..

"Four more minutes," she assured herself. "Then you can go."
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff does not keep Willow waiting long. The faint, swirling shimmer of her teleportation magic dissipates just outside the diner's front door, leaving her standing there with a soft smile that barely hints at her chaotic nature. Her casual yet refined attire---a flowing burgundy cardigan over a simple black blouse and fitted jeans---blends her approachability with her quiet power.

As Wanda steps inside, the slight hum of conversation in the diner quiets for a moment, the presence of a nexus being commanding subtle attention even in the most mundane settings. Her sharp, yet warm eyes scan the room briefly before landing on Willow, whose nervous energy is unmistakable.

Making her way over, Wanda offers a cordial smile and a gentle greeting. "Miss Rosenberg," she says warmly as she slides gracefully into the seat across from her. "I hope I haven't kept you waiting long."

Settling in, she folds her hands neatly on the table, her calm demeanor both inviting and grounding. "I hear you've been looking for me."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow winces inwardly. So, she was back to being Ms. Rosenberg. Rather than Willow..

"Not really? I didn't order food, so it looks like I've been waiting and they have cleared the table off. Just coffee, for now." She holds up her cup to show Wanda. "Though I could use another? Maybe some fries?"

As she puts the cup down, she gestures across from her. "Unless you aren't planning on staying? I mean, saying I'm sorry doesn't take that long, really."
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda's gaze softens as she studies Willow, her head tilting slightly in curiosity. Her voice is calm, tinged with genuine interest. "An apology?" she begins, her tone thoughtful. "It's not often someone seeks me out for that. But I suppose I do remember... the struggle we went through to bring you back to your senses."

Her expression flickers, as if recalling the intensity of that moment, the effort it took to guide Willow out of her darkest state. Wanda's lips press into a faint smile, her tone resolute yet gentle. "If you're here to make amends, you should know I'm not one to hold grudges. I've had enough of them held against me to know they only weigh you down."

She leans forward slightly, her eyes searching Willow's as a note of concern enters her voice. "But tell me, Willow---how are you doing? Truly. Apologies aside, I want to know how you've been holding up."

Her words hang in the air, patient and genuine, an invitation for Willow to share as much---or as little---as she feels ready to.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
*blink blink*

That wasn't the response she'd been expecting. Actually afraid of!

"You're.. I mean.. Everyone has been so nice." Willow was boggled. The question she was posed took a little time to evaluate before answering, though.

"I feel different, yet the same? It's weird. Dark Willow is a part of me like she wasn't before. Everything makes me step back and consider.. was this really what I wanted, or was it because I was afraid? I'm still afraid! But now I have to make decisions. Real decisions. Like.. I still don't really like meat. But before it was a good thing to do. The other day I was walking through the park and I smelt hotdogs at the vendor - real hotdogs, not the vegetarian types. And my mouth was salivating."

"Weird, huh?" As she talks, she became more comfortable. Less shy. Less trying to make everything alright for everyone but her okay. "I'm still confused as to who put my app in for my doctorate.. But you probably mean magicwise."

She shrugs. "I haven't used my magic since then."
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda listens intently, her expression open and calm, allowing Willow the space to work through her thoughts. She leans back slightly, folding her hands in her lap as Willow talks, her gaze never leaving the redhead. When Willow finishes, Wanda takes a moment, her response deliberate and measured.

"It's not weird," Wanda says softly, her voice carrying a note of understanding. "It's human. You've gone through something transformative, and it's left you questioning things you may not have before. That's not something to fear---it's growth, even if it feels messy."

She pauses, considering Willow's words about Dark Willow. "Acknowledging that part of yourself is a step toward balance. It's never easy to face the darker parts of who we are. But you're doing that now, and it's making you stronger, even if it doesn't feel like it yet."

Wanda's brow furrows slightly at the mention of the doctorate. "I'm sure the truth about that will come to light eventually," she says lightly, offering a small smile. "But as for your magic... I understand the hesitation. Power can be terrifying when it feels like it's controlling you instead of the other way around."

Her gaze softens further, a note of encouragement entering her tone. "But you're more than your magic, Willow. And when you're ready to use it again, it will be there for you---not as a tool of fear, but as part of the person you're becoming."

Wanda tilts her head slightly, her concern clear. "For now, though, tell me---what do you want? Not what you're afraid of, but what you hope for." She offers a faint, reassuring smile. "It doesn't have to be something profound. Even small hopes can mean everything."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"What do I want?"

Willow lets the waitress passing by refill her coffee, and orders some fries. "Do you want something?" Then she sits back. "Definitely my Doctorate. Not just because of my parents." Though, they are part of the reason. "My parents don't understand magic. In fact, I had to erase some of my mother's memory to prevent her from burning me." That was a whole kerfuffle. "Maybe someday I won't be able to keep my magical side separate from my other side, just not not now."

"Besides, I like going to school!" Willow smirks.

Then she sighs. "It's complicated? I want to learn more magic. Now that the parameters are boundless.. Even as I'm afraid of what I can accomplish. Before my magic was tightly bound so that nothing was going to rock the boat. Even with my sessions with Tala, or Rack, I still had control. Now? Now I can't even begin to see my boundaries. It's scary, and exhilarating at the same time."

She frowns slightly, and lowers her gaze. "The trouble is, I need a teacher to keep me on the right path. I'm still having to learn what is okay, and what is leading down the dark side of the force." That gives Willow a giggle. "I like Star Wars." As if Wanda couldn't tell.
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda gives Willow a small, warm smile, her head tilting slightly in admiration for the younger woman's earnest pluck and introspection. As Willow continues, Wanda listens intently, her fingers resting lightly on the edge of the table, her demeanor calm and inviting.

When Willow finishes, Wanda leans forward slightly, her voice soft but steady. "You've given this a lot of thought, and that shows how serious you are about this path. I respect that," she begins. "You remind me of myself when I was younger---hungry to learn, cautious of my own power, and unsure of where to turn for guidance."

She pauses, her smile softening with a hint of nostalgia. "I've had quite a bit of schooling myself---both mundane and mystical. But the most valuable lessons came from my mentor, Agatha Harkness. Without her, I wouldn't be half as grounded in my magic as I am now. She taught me to understand its nature, its boundaries, and how to navigate the chaos that often comes with it."

Wanda's gaze sharpens slightly, her voice becoming more measured. "Magic isn't just a tool or a power to wield. It's a living, breathing force that requires respect and understanding. And the kind of magic you and I deal with, Willow---it's not easy to master. It demands discipline, patience, and a willingness to confront parts of ourselves we might prefer to avoid."

She sits back slightly, her expression thoughtful. "Even now, I find there's so much more to learn. But just as I continue to learn, I also have much to teach. If you're willing, I can help guide you. I won't pretend it will be easy---it won't. But I believe you're capable, and I believe you deserve the chance to grow into your magic safely and responsibly."

Wanda meets Willow's gaze, her voice carrying both encouragement and gravity. "So, if you're ready to take that step, I'm willing to walk it with you. What do you say?"
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Was she *really* ready?

More so, could she really ignore this part of herself?

Willow said she needed to learn. But was she ready for that first step?

A deep sigh, exhaling her niggles away. "This would be when, in the past, I put my feet down and stopped the train, fearful that the tracks would not be a place around the bend. That's a warning isn't it? That's what caused this problem in the first place. I AM powerful - whether I like it or not." She nods to herself. "We both know I am going to say yes. It's scary, isn't it?"

She nods again. "I need to. I.. I want to. I want to make my being whole."

Willow looks over, and smiles a little smile. "Would you?"
Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda's smile deepens, a glimmer of pride shining in her eyes as she listens to Willow's words. There's a certain warmth in her expression, mingled with admiration for the courage Willow is showing. She leans forward slightly, her voice steady but filled with quiet encouragement.

"You're stronger than you give yourself credit for, Willow," Wanda begins, her tone gentle yet firm. "It's not easy to face yourself, especially after being overtaken by something as overwhelming as your own power. But here you are, ready to step forward, ready to take control. That kind of bravery is rare, and it's something to be proud of."

She pauses, her expression softening further. "And yes, it's scary. Accepting that you're powerful---truly powerful---is a daunting thing. But you're not alone in this. You don't have to figure it all out by yourself."

Wanda sits back slightly, folding her hands neatly in her lap. "I gave you my word, and I meant it. I'll tutor you, guide you in gaining the hold over your magic that you need. Because you're right---your power is immense, and reigning in that potential is not just important, it's necessary. But more than that, it's possible. And you'll be amazed at how much there is to learn."

Her lips curl into a small, knowing smile. "Magic is infinite in its complexity and beauty. As you grow, you'll find that mastering it isn't just about control---it's about connection, understanding, and finding your place within it. One day, you might even brave the Witch's Road, a place only a few dare to tread. But that's for another time."

Wanda tilts her head slightly, her voice becoming more reassuring. "For now, we start with the first step. I'll be here every step of the way, Willow. You've already made the hardest choice---choosing to move forward. And I promise you, it will be worth it."

She lets her words settle, her calm and steady presence offering a beacon of support for the path ahead.
