Random Encounter at Lunch

Location:	Fred's Diner - Mutant Town
Synopsis:	Alex and Sam catch up in life.

Havok has posed:
It's a slightly off lunch time in Mutant Town at Fred's Diner. Alex Summers can be found here pretty often and sitting in one of the booths against the windows that face outward onto the sidewalk/street beyond. Alex is dressed warm in a black turtleneck sweater and military green corduroy jeans with trendy black hiking boots. His black leather jacket is in the booth next to him against the wall/window. In front of him is a glass of bubbling dark soda. Other patrons in the establishment have a similar setup where they're here to eat and move on. While Alex is messing with his phone while he waits for his food.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie walks in looking about Sam had to do some stuff at the club today, but since it is not open yet, he figured he would get food here today, instead of having to open and then reclean the kitchen. So as he walks in he looks about and sees someone he knows, he walks over towards him "Hey man, how is?"

Havok has posed:
Alex looks up to see Sam approaching. Recognizing the fellow mutant, Alex smiles and will slide out of the booth to stand and offer his hand. "Sammie... man, long time." If Sam receives the handshake, he'll find Alex quite warm - and that's a sign that he's built up a significant plasma charge. If he was wearing his super suit, it would be glowing quite brightly.

    Alex will say, "You gonna join me?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie gives a firm shake in return and says "If ya don't mind sure." He offer a smile and as the waitress comes over, Sam will start to ask Alex if he has ordered, but seeing the drink he realizes he has. He looks to her and says "Hey Marge, can Ah get an Iced Tea, a double bacon cheese burger, and onion rings?" He smiles thanking her.

Havok has posed:
Alex says as he takes a seat, "And if you could, bring out my order with his."

    Marge will see to all the needs and walk off.

    Alex then addresses Sam. "Hey man, so what have you been up to? I don't think we've seen each other in... two years? Maybe." He slides back into the middle of the seat gets comfortable and takes a drink from his soda straw.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "Has been a while, yea, but been pretty busy, was Ah running the club here in town when ya were about last?" He asks the man "It has been a while but Ah can't remember for sure if not.

Havok has posed:
"Running a club?" Queries Alex as he tries to reflect back just a few years with a downward glance to the table then back to Sam because Alex can't recall. "Was that what you were doing? Or were you law enforcement? Maybe I'm getting my wires crossed. You run a club now? Like discotheque?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Club Evolution, here in Bushwick. Berto bought it a few years ago, and Ah manage it. Been using it to help some of the local bands get some exposure, and is something Ah enjoy doing. Never really thought about being a cop. Interesting . What about you?"

Havok has posed:
Alex seems to be surprised by the information about Berto and Sam having a club. "Wow... I guess I had no idea about that setup." Then he segues into the question at hand, "Lorna and I have been living here in Bushwick; finishing up our PhD submission. Hoping that it passes without issue. Doing a bit of work with Xavier's here and there. But not been that active or available for special projects. What about you? Doing anything off book?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "When they need me, Ah do help with some of the teaching. When any of the new students need advice I try to be of help where Ah can, and also help out with some of the flying classes."

Havok has posed:
"That's excellent. You're a real asset to that place. Especially with all your knowledge and experience - especially with flying. I remember when you first signed on and your difficulties. Mainly turning. It was a trip watching you in training and smashing into things. We had a bunch of side bets going on till Scott shut it down."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Ah can imagine, heck, sometimes Ah think Berto might have been trying to make extra money by making sure, Ah ended up through more walls. That or he invested in the local construction place.

Havok has posed:
"Him and Warren... fucking rich people." - The tone of his statement is more comical than condemning. There's a light chuckle in there. Even though Alex sees himself as poor, he still has a regular job and makes decent money. "What about Lila? You and she still a thing?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head a bit and says "Friends, is about all, she has been busy with her tours. She does play here when she comes through, but she stays pretty busy. Ah aint seeing anyone right now, most recent girl Ah was seeing, had to do some traveling, so we paused things, may try again, when she can settle down some.

Havok has posed:
Hearing the words, settle down, Alex flashes back to Sam's past (that he's aware of) and segues away from Lila since she's in his past. So speaking of the past, he queries, "I always thought you'd end up going back to Kentucky to take over the farm or whatever your family's got going on down there. But seems that your entire clan came up here to Xavier's at one point or another. Like, is there anything left in Kentucky? Did you move your mom up here too?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Yea, there is a lot still there, the kids, pretty much half up here half down that way. We all head back down that way now and again. Ah think of any of us who have headed out might settle back down there would probably be Jay. Ah would probably try to get a place down there maybe some land next to Ma's. Though Ah think one of the kids who stayed there should get the land down the road, or maybe divide it between all them.

Havok has posed:
"This might be personal, so don't answer if you don't want... but; am I to understand that half your siblings aren't mutants? Or just not old enough to know.", asks Alex as he reflects on something that Sam mentioned about half his family is still down there. He thinks he's met 4 of his siblings up at Xavier's; but can't be sure since he's not actively teaching, nor has been for at least 2 years.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and starts to count off "Paige, Jay, Melody, and Jeb as well as Myself have powers. Joelle and Lewis both seem to be human, and the others 3 are still at the age so we don't know for sure." He thanks the woman for their food and his drink as it is brought over.

Havok has posed:
Alex will also thank Marge for the food and start pouring ketchup on fries while sampling a few. Between bites and swallowing, Alex will nod along with Sam's family tree information and then he'll say, "That's a lot of kids. Just hope you don't have any secret siblings. They are the worst when they come out and try to take over the galaxy or something." - of course he's referring to Vulcan.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "Ah don't think we do, If we did would have to be older than me, would be more likely to have some surprise cousins from my uncle Luke than anything else Ah think. " He waits for the ketchup to make a pile for his onion rings. "So how you and Lorna doing, Ah know ya said working on the PHd stuff, but found time for anything else?"

Havok has posed:
Alex will hand the ketchup over and then pick up his burger, situate it in is hands just right and say in a reflective and darker tone. "Yeah.. the last 13 months have been way more traumatic than I'd like to get into. Suffice it to say that we had some dealings with Dracula that really jacked her up - for almost the entire year. That took a lot out of us. I'm .. Right now, we're focusing on the PhD to get it done, get it behind us since it's a joint venture. Then... I'm not sure what'll happen after that."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "You both should come out to the club some night. We got good security there, Guido trained them for me, so they are pretty good. And enough humans and obvious mutants both there, should not get any odd looks or anything. A night where ya can relax.

Havok has posed:
He had taken a bite of the burger and was chewing when Sam offered. Alex paused and swallowed with a dour look on his face, "I appreciate it... but I'm pretty sure that's one scene that we're going to avoid for a while. It was a huge part of the whole debacle. Apparently there were all these goth vampires at a local club that was part of controlling her."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie ahs and nods a bit and says "Well if ya want to try it again let me know, Ah will do what ever Ah can to help out and even do a private night with just folks we know if it helps.

Havok has posed:
"Appreciate it, Sam. Right now, we're just taking it one day at a time." And he'll take another bite after the moment of reflection is over. And he's also hungry. A few moments will pass before he can swallow and then he'll ask, "So you said that Guido is running your security? Wow... how's he doing? I'm not even sure when I saw him last. Like since we broke up the band."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Not running, he trained them Ah think he is touring with Lila right now, aint had a chance to talk to him in a few months." He admits between bites of his own food."
