Winifred Burkle has posed:
Thursday the 20th comes to a close. The sun sets, the moon rises and the lights of the street lights illuminate the night. Inside the Hyperion Hotel, Winifred Burkle paces. Then, she sits on one of the round sofas for a few moments, foot tapping against the marble floor, hands in her lap bouncing. A ball of nervous energy, she can only stay seated for a few minutes before she stands again and moves behind the counter. The physicist keeps looking toward the stairs and then the door to the basement and then the front door, waiting for a certain Brooding Vampire to make an appearance after sending him a message that she'd like to speak with him.

Angel has posed:
Walking down the stairs from his office is Angel. He pulls his overcoat up over his shoulders and peers silently outside, ensuring that it is night after all. With a wan smile, and a quick look towards the main area of the hotel, he notices the person he came to see. "Hi Fred. I got your message that you wanted to see me." His smile disappears, and he puts on a neutral expression. "Is everything okay? You seem...agitated." Angel moves to the centre of the room, and stops.

Winifred Burkle has posed:
Hearing the footfalls down the stairs and then his voice, Fred quickly turns more fully toward Angel. "Angel!" There's a bit of relief in her voice now that he's come down the stairs. Instead of pacing, now she moves to him. "No. I'm...agitated. That's a good word for it." Her answer is rapid fire, much like her theories of physics that she's recited to him whether he's wanted to hear it or not. But, there's a forcefulness in her voice this time, a determination. "Worried's another. Angry, too. You know that guy I borrowed your car to go help out? He's missing. Hasn't gotten back to me in days. Something bad's happened to him. I'm pretty sure he's been kidnapped. I need your help to find him and then go get him. Remember that metal arm guy I told you about before? The one that killed the ambassador? I'm pretty sure he's got him."

Angel has posed:
Angel jerks a bit, surprised at Fred's quick movement towards him. Angel then relaxes, raising his hands up palms out, just in case. "I can see you are." Angel looks at Fred concerned. She is firing on all cylinders. "Worried...angry..." Angel frowns.

Angel crosses his arms across his chest, and nods. A few times. As Fred recites the situation. Angel waits until she pauses to take a breath, and he nods. "Of course Fred. Anything we can do to help, and I'm there." Angel gets a "thinking" expression on his face, as though deep in thought. "Metal arm guy...where have I heard that before? A soldier. I remember reading a newspaper about him. Interesting. Are you sure it's him?"

Winifred Burkle has posed:
As Angel jerks back, Fred pauses in her approach. Perhaps she's coming on a little strong. Taking another step back, she wrings her hands a bit again. Knowing that he'll help and that he's already trying to think about solutions relaxes her shoulders just slightly. It's clear that her entire body is wired tightly, like she's a taut bowstring ready to fire. "Thank you, Angel," she tells him softly, sincerely. "That means a lot. I knew that if anyone was gonna find him, it'd be you."

The question as to whether she is sure or not is met with a look he might not have ever seen on the face of the woman who hid in her hotel room for months after Pylea and drew strange equations on her wall. There's anger there, simmering - not at him, but directed at the metal arm man. "Yes. I'm sure. I was helping Mercy put together a small EMP that'll hopefully take that arm out once we find out where they are and she got a text from him taunting us." Wait, Fred's been building an EMP? What? "He's got another woman, too. Claire Temple. She's a really nice nurse that helped patch Sam up a few times. We need to help them both."

The revelation that the metal arm guy might be a soldier is met with a nod. The more information they can gather on him the better. "A newspaper article? What'd it say?"

Angel has posed:
"Well, I will try my best Fred. I'm sure with all our resources we can find him and deal with the Metal Arm Guy." Angel smiles and nods. He then listens to Fred talk about an EMP, and he actually blinks. In puzzlement at first. "An...EMP?" Angel looks slightly confused and then hears Claire's name. "More innocents. A nurse even." Angel shakes his head, and frowns.

"The newspaper article said he was an assassin and had gotten into an altercation downtown in New York. That is a capable fighter, and that the situation was very combative." Angel's memory sometimes comes in handy. "Never said his name though."

"Maybe I have someone who can help us. A woman that I met a short time ago. She has a connection to a "wizard" and I hear he's a good guy. Maybe...hmmm..." Angel stops to think and says, "Do you have any other leads?"

Winifred Burkle has posed:
"I know you will," Fred responds with conviction. It's clear she has complete and utter faith in Angel and his abilities. As for the EMP, she nods, earnest. "That arm's all metal and machinery. An electric overload should shut it down so he can't use it. Should come in handy should he try and attack us while we're getting Sam and Claire." No pun intended, of course.

At the article information, she nods, ingesting that. "Claire was calling him Yasha. Don't know if that's actually his name or not, but she seemed to know about him. More than us, that is. Might be why he took her." If he's an assassin, having someone know about his personal details could be a liability.

The offer of more help gives makes her look even more hopeful. "A wizard? That's great. I found one in the Yellow Pages, actually. Harry Dresden. Ad said 'Lost items found.' I was hoping maybe that could include people. Also, Mercy's got a good nose for finding people." Literally.

"On Friday he was supposed to text me when he got home, but it was around 9 when he said he stopped to help a woman with a broken down car on the side of the road. After that I haven't heard from him. I tried retracing where he might've driven, but I didn't find anything. That's my only lead."

Angel has posed:
"Ah. EMP. Makes sense." Angel nods. He wasn't too up on his techie stuff. He was a brusier, that was it. Maybe a bit of a detective."Yeah, I think she said that was his name. She was supposed to call me to get her to help her out. You are welcome to come when she calls." Angel nods.

As for the rest..."Well, we'll have to take your info and the lead, and go from there." Angel adds, "Fred. Great work by the way. You are lucky to be okay, safe and sound, so you can help your friends get out of this mess." Angel nods. "I will help you out any way I can. First things first." Angel adds, "Don't worry Fred. We'll make sure everyone's safe and rescued. I promise." Angel was usually good at keeping his promises. Most of the time anyway. "The call should be coming soon."

Winifred Burkle has posed:
There's almost something of a smile that crosses Fred's face as he tells her she did good work. His compliments still count for quite a bit to her. "I didn't even really do anything except for wait for a text message." She shrugs a bit self consciously.

His reassurances also seem to calm her down, the tautness in her shoulders slightly relaxing. She's no longer pacing, though the hands are still clasped in front of her. She's still going to worry, but his steady demeanor does its job. "Thanks," she tells him, chin tilting up to give him a grateful look. "I really appreciate it, Angel."

Angel has posed:
"Anytime Fred." Angel smiles, and nods, "You underestimate how great you did and how awesome you are Fred. We'll get your friends back. And make the bad guys hurt. A lot." Angel smiles in reassurance. "After all, that's why we are here. Helping the helpless and all that."
