Park Days
Date of Scene: 27 April 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed.
Cast of Characters: Crusader, Superman, Insect Queen (OMara), Batwoman, Zachary Lightwing

Crusader has posed:
It was mid Morning in Queens land park. The earlier morning had drizzeled down, but soon enough given way to briliant sunshine, the dew sparkling in the grass. There are a few people taking walks around enjoying the day

Kids play in the park, their laughing and yelling echoing throughout. There were even some folks taking picnics!A peaceful day overall it seems. But things in this world have been known to change in but an instant

Unseen and sitting beneath the shadow of a great Oak is Crusader. His is mostly invisible, appearingly only as a slight distortion in the enviroment to those with good perceptions or sight. Days like this was just a good day to think, that and he didn't feel like dealing with bills. Priorities right?

Superman has posed:
Clark Kent is not working today! He finished off a report for the Planet late the night before, and is taking a day off to relax before getting back at it. He sat out on the porch of his apartment building all morning with a cup of coffee, watching the rain drizzle down. Now that the sun is out, he has decded to enjoy the sunshine. It nourishes him, afterall.

The big, corn-fed farmboy moves along one of the cobblestone paths of the park with a small, easy smile on his face. He is dressed in a pair of jeans, comfortable shoes, and a flannel shirt over a faded GOTHAM UNIVERSITY t-shirt. A pair of glasses rest on his nose, dimming his inhumanely blue eyes to normal levels.

He stops at a hot dog vendor, fishing out his wallet and flashing a smile. "Hey, Craig. Yeah, the usual, please. Oh, and a soda. Thanks, man." He pays in cash and pockets his wallet, before taking his hot dog in one hand (Piled high with the works) and his soda in the other. He glances about, pondering where to sit to enjoy his meal.

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara wanders in from a different area of the park, with a large satchel slung over her shoulders. Head bowed low, she is completely lost in her sketchbook. She does raises her glance every now and then, possibly to glance at passer-bys, possibly to see where she's going, and then her attention dips back again to her little world of paper and graphite.

"Hey, Craig!" says Violet, as she passes. "Hey, Violet. The usual?" "Yeah!" exclaims, Violet, not even raising her face. "Sure!" replies Craig, and Violet passes right by and proceeds past. While he places the sausage into the bun for the next customer, Craig turns to him and explains, "She never takes anything."

After a few steps, she interrupts her sketching and looks up from notebook. "Let's see, let's see..." she says, tapping her lips with her pencil. "...where could I go, somewhere where there is no one... somewhere where I can concentrate on sketching undisturbed... Ah, there! That tree will do!" She starts for her destination, but then grimaces a little, and glances down at her satchel. "...I should also do some budgeting. Bah." She sighs and looks down. "Maybe I should work on the bills, first. Priorities, right?"

Crusader has posed:
The invisible Crusader chuckles as Craig deals with his latest customers. He peers a moment at Violet curiouse to what she might be drawing, as well as a glance to Clark. One a perky teen, the other...kinda looks like a farm boy really.

A further look around at the serenity and he settles back. Course there were a /few/ dogs wondering why they couldn't access a seemingly empty patch of grass before moving on. That life

But something else was stiring. Crusader suddenly sits up straighter as he...feels. A signal going off. He glances at the nearby musuams that are in proximity to the park, of which the area is well known for. Soon enough alarms can be heard and some people were spilling out into the streets from the musauam of art.

Looks like a peaceful day just got a bit less peacefull.

Insect Queen (OMara) has posed:
Violet O'Mara , apparently, has been exercising. Quick sketches of passer-bys, the kind commuters are wont to do on trains or stations. She's already not bad at all at capturing movement and essential features. Quite good looking for the layman, but a seasoned artist would be able to notice that she's still young, and there still is room for improvement.

Whenever she sees a dog approach the area, though, she stops her sketching and looks at them with a huge smile. Someone is a dog person, it appears.

When the alarms go off, she looks up and pales. She stays there for a few seconds, unmoving, until the loss of grip on her pencil causes the implement to slowly topple over and fall on the paper. "...oh, no. Not /again/!" She whimpers, with an almost-choked voice.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate takes a deep breath as she walks long the trees lining the neatly manicured park. Blue eyes cast upward toward the sky and the young woman takes a deep breath. Today kate is wearing a black leater jacket and blue jeans, the black 'Misfits' t-shirt she's wearing only half visible. She's into the classics then; it's been a very long time since the misfits put out a new album.

In the end Kate followsh er nose. Short red tresses flutter slightly on the breeze as she makes her way toward the hot dog cart, right eye narrowed, left squarely on the people surrounding it. For now she stands off to the side and waits patiently for the man in question to become available. So she becomes the customer right behind Violet when the woman walks off. She looks Violet over briefly and chuckles, but soon the redhead is eyeing the hot dog Clark was carrying for a second.

"Alright... Sure. I'll take one with everything please." Hot dog incoming. Kate takes a bite and then blinks a few times. Then she shakes her head and slowly steps out of the way, grimacing slightly. "Okay. Is that supposed to be that sour...?" Then she shrugs and keeps eating. Food. "Metropolis has weird hot dogs."

Superman has posed:
The man frowns softly to himself as he hears the alarm and panic in the Musem. Clark makes a surprised face and glances off in its direction, while he hones his senses and directs them. He can easily pick up the details of whatever is happening inside, and he slowly brings his soda to his lips to sip at it as he takes in whatever is happening.

He glances over at Kate and blinks before he chuckles. "Good hot dogs. I mean, they're terrible for you...but great. Craig knows how to steam a hot dog, that's for sure..." He then turns his attention back towards the museum.

Crusader has posed:
Inside the musuam was getting more chaotic by the moment. Depending on how gold someone sense are - they could be able to decern that people are running and paniking. Several are hiding. Art is being take and loaded by a team somewhere in the back. A bold move to commit such a crime in broad daylight. Staff and vistor alike were being held at gunpoint, with only a few warning shots going off

People in the park began to notice. The police were being called in mass with varying reports of the developing situation near the park. Even Craig glances over when he sees people streaming out of the musame "WHat the...."

No time to wait, Crusader stands and heads right towards the musuam. The only clue of his presence being the rather large dent he left in the soft ground.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate taps her foot against the ground for a second. She flashes Clark a smile before laughing softly as she replies with, "It's growing on me. But you want a real hot dog you should pop over to Gotham. Get the works there and reevaluate your stance on life." Kate inks once before she turns toward the museum and takes a deep breath.

"That doesn't sound good. Should probably clear the park in case things go haywire. Thanks, Craige. And... Whoever you are." Kate nods once for Clark's benefit and then she takes off. That's a nimble one. She doesn't quite sprint but manages to hurry gracefully regardless.

Kate has to make it to her car. That's where her stuff is, and a good sprint away in the nearest parking lot. Nevermind finding a way to change discretely... It will be a moment before she returns.

Superman has posed:
Clark laughs softly and opens his flannel to show off his Gotham University shirt. "I am quite familiar, miss." He adjusts his glasses and watches as the woman makes her way off. He then turns and takes off, pausing long enough to hand his uneaten hot dog to a homeless man sitting on a bench.

He dips into an alleyway across the street from the park, and he kicks his senses up, making absolutely no sure nobody can see him change. The change happens in a milisecond, and his clothing his stashed very carefully. He shoots into the air and then drops down in front of the muiseum. People KNOW Superman. The world sees him as a beacon of hope and safety. He immediatly begins hedring the crowd and calming people, making sure nobody is harmed, and that everyone gets out.

Crusader has posed:
The police sirens wail in the distance! Within moments of the tsuamie of calls, several dozen police cars arrive. Many get out and begin setting up a perrimeter. They see Superman and do not give him any trouble, after all he is a well known hero that the police know is there to help!
Several police men are getting into contact with the people inside, or at least trying too. But with all the craziness going on it won't be easy. But at least supes present is helping to keep things in good control!

A bit father down the street where people have contined to run, it a bit more chaotic. Some cars ended up having to stop from the mass of people going everywhere. No injuries, but Kate may need to weave through a (thankfully) thinning crowd. Instead a crowd was begining to gather around where the police perimeter was. Phones are, camera men, the works.

Crusader for a brief moment becomes visible. Very very few people recognize who he is, police included. As the police raise the weapons in an attempt to halt him, Crusader dissapear once more as if getting his camoflouge working again. And with that he slips inside.

In the back of the musuam in one of the loading bays, the crooks were trying to load up as quickly as possible. They did not expect such a fast reaction. They were already setting up guards to hopefully mitigate any chance of someone trying to enter.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate ducks through the crowd of people to get to her car. "Damn it..." She only curses under her breath but that smile of hers has vanished entirely. There's a soft groan from the redhead as she notices the knot of people between ehr and her ca and slows to a brisk walk. Deep breaths, Kate. She scans the crowd and identifies the biggest asshole of the bunch ahead of her. Big swagger, bad mustache, a bit of a leer. Just shoved someone else of the way. She then proceeds to shoulder past him, shoving the guy bodily out of her way with an elbow. That takes care of getting into the parking lot.

The redhead turns to look as the crowd's roar turns to the spectacle of superman appearing on the scene. She eyes the man, frowns for a second, and shakes her head. He isn't inside taking care of the criminals. For some reason... Collateral damage? Brows furrowed she ducks into her car and then revs the impressively loud engine before peeling out. Kate parks nearby, outside the range of he commotion...

A few moments later Batwoman, the unknown vigilante, is making her way toward the museum, looking for an entrance that will get her past the cops without any crowds. With a gun holstered on her utility belt.

Crusader has posed:
Getting past the cops without any crowds? Not to hard to manage in this case. The majority of the crowd are situatied around the front near superman. A few cops pratroll around the sides, but the bulk is concnetrated on helping to keep the crowd in control. Side doors, windows, simply sneaking by using cars as cover, etc are all doable!

Its rather the inside someone should worry about

The crooks where spread through the musaum. How a such a big heist was being conducted is anyone guess. The guards are on the ground disarmed. Many people have been corraled into rooms so the crooks can work. Paintings, statues, etc were still being swipped. At one point someone drops something. And quite loudly another fella berates him "Hey! Watch it shite head! We not getting payed for the broken stuff!"

Crusader once inside becomes fully visible. While he may have kept his presence hidden from the public as best he could, he didn't mind if the crooks saw. Immediatly two guards decend on him, and aim their weapons. Without a moments hesitation Crusader moves in and knocks his fist into one sending them flying into a wall

The other crook tries to unload his gun...only to have Crusader tank the shots with no problem. Bullet out, and a fist to the face and that crook is knocked out too.

Batwoman has posed:
Eventually Kate finds her way to the edge of the building. She nimbly scales the exterior wall and climbs up to one of the second story windows. Crouching their with her long, crimson hair flowing behind her, Batwoman is not a terribly impressive figure. This is why no one gets to see her like this. Discretely the young hero removes a tool from her belt. A laser cutter slices into the glass and removes a neat circle, just large enough for a person to climb through. Which she does. Then Kate drops into a display full of pottery.

One unfortunate man sees her. she grabs him by the arm and then pulls him close enough for a kiss... While cutting off the blood flow to his brain at the neck. A few seconds later a body slides to the floor. Gunfire covers her footsteps. It isn't until the third that someone is able to scream, "...WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?!"

That's when the woman drops a small metal sphere and a second later disappears into a cloud of smoke and a hail of returning gunfire overtaking the Ancient Antiquities exhibit.

Crusader has posed:
Well there goes the antique exhibit! The soun of vases, sculptures and glass is heard shattering! Thousands of years of art history lost in a bullet storm frenzy! Smoke covers the area making it diffficult for anyone to see really!

Crusader takes a more direct approache, moving towards and taking out various robbers. But he stayed away from where the hostages are? WHy? Because back up, thats why!

Batwoman and Crusader drop in on the Heist got alarms rolling! Robber abandon watching their hostages to try and deal with the problem that was quickly taking hold

Some of the hostages felt brave enough to make a break for it and ran to get out of the building. But to get through the building though was dangerous and some find themselves corner by patroling robbers!

Batwoman has posed:
So far it seems Kate is holding her own. She's fighting two men now, a tall, barrel-chested fellow and a slender one who seems to favour knives. The big guy rushes into grabb her, lifting Batwoman from the floor between his massive arms. She kicks and struggles for a second while his partner moves in with his knife... Only to drive the spikes on her gauntlets into the man's side, elbow him in the gut, then drop the giant to his knees. The knife throws sparks when it his her forearms and she steps in, neatly flipping the second goon on top of the first. A punch to the head apiece ensures they stay down.

As Batwoman moves past shattered pottery and shredded tapestries a torrent of bullets greets her. Two men, one with an assault rifle. Too far to charge. They can't really see her so the shots go wide but she's still forced to put her back against an antique desk for cover. A batarang is thrown at the pair. Then there's an explosion.

Behind batwoman a man is getting up, gun in hand. Others are moving in to close on her. She straightens. Then there's a scream from the escaping hostages... So Kate draws her gun. A custom Glock 23 in her signature black and flowing red, matching the crimson mane and the bat splashed across her chest.

Kate returns gunfire now as she sprints toward the hostages. It's the only way. There's going to be a body count. Crusader... Just gets a look. She'll process that one later. Focus on shooting. One round catches her in the chest and bounces harmlessly.

Crusader has posed:
Well in truth, Crusader was more worried about people than he was ancient art. Lives first, history later. As more goons come after them, the towering Crusader steps in front. They open fire on him, their bullets becomming embedded in his armor instead ob bouncing off.

Click.Click.CLick....Their guns were out of bullets, and Crusader was still standing. Their face said it all. In that moment, they knew they had messed up

Crusader charges the men grabbing them in the mother of all bearhugs. They could barely breath as their bones are nearly crushed. Once passed out, Crusader drops them and adds themto the pile Batowman already started

As Kate heads torwards the scream of Hostages, an elderly couple along with a young woman standing in front of them is facing off agaist the robbers. The lady says "We just want to leave... that all" and slowly step side staying in front of the old folks

A shot is fired but dosn't hit them the thug shouting "No one going anywhere! Now get down!"

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
Amidst the smoke and chaos, a shape floats down from a light on the ceiling, and lands with a gentle forepaw on the head of the one threatening the older couple.

"It's shameful to threaten the elderly."

A ghostly cat with glowing green eyes emits a flash of electricity that arcs from the light above it and down to the robber, electrifying the man and trying to incapacitate him entirely. It's entirely non-lethal, but very, very showy. And just after that he leaps back up into the lights, vanishing from sight and popping out of a talking display elsewhere in the museum to scout the area for more of the criminals.

Batwoman has posed:
"...What in the world?" Kate just stops herself from exclaiming when Zachary appears. She had been about to put a bullet betwen the robber's eyes when the electrical light show began and blinks once now that it is happening. "I think I can see his bones through his skin," the crimson haired black clad figure murmurs to herself. With the way to the exit open she dashes away, her cape fluttering behind her with the red underneath it visible.

Katherine half-runs up one of the nearby walls and kicks off, spreading her arms. The soft whoosh of air catching fabric follows and then Batwoman is airborne, swooping so that she can see what is present and then dropping into a dive that drops one of the men she had failed to properly incapacitate earlier. Most of hers are down. Some just have bruises or broken bones.

It won't be the last time someone might overhear Batwoman cursing today. The smoke is lifting to reveal the true extent of the carnage and the positions of the remaining thugs. Batwoman has disappeared behind a rack of antique swords.

Crusader has posed:
By now the robbers were begining to bail. Broken bones, several apprently ineffective shoot outs and more heros appearing? Hell no. They weren't getting payed enough to deal with this!

Zachary would be able to see what is likely the last few remaining robbers running down the hall and towards an exit. This was likly visible to Batwoman as well, as she would likely see robber running by a hall or two trying to get away!

Crusader seeming as most of the Robbers are begining to run, heads in another direction. He begins go to where the various Hostages were being held and telling them to head for the front and get out (after checking to make sure it was clear first!)

The stream of people comming out of the building will begin anew as visitors and staff now begin to hurriedly exit the building. They talked of knights and ghostly cats and some redhair bat straight out of hell fighting off the robbers!

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
Zachary turns his head to follow the flight of the robbers, and disappeared back into the display. They wouldn't even get to the exit sign before the ghostly cat emerged from it and floated down to land in front of their path as they sprinted for safety.

"You are just the unluckiest bunch of nerds in the city."

They'd run straight into an arcing array of electricity, if he timed it right, that'll rob their muscles of the ability to move correctly and send them slamming into the floor in a heap. Most of them, at least, as he can't do a sustained blast without permanently harming them. Several lights simply bust from the electrical surge this causes in the wiring around him.

"I hope they use the name I've picked out for myself," he remarks, "I really can't be called Spook..." This said while lightning dances around him and hums terrifyingly.

"... hmm, some of 'em split off," he observes, "Wonder if she's got it."

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman looks around. As the robbers are moving down the hallway toward the back she is look up instead, scanning for options. Ventilation system? Too small. ...Aha. A grappling hook is fired and then batwoman ascends toward the ceiling, black cape fluttering alongside crimson hair to giv the impression of a Revenant moving through the air above. Somehow it is no less terrifying in light.

It won't be until they are leaving the building that a bat crashes through the windows like the screech of a a hunting hellhound, lobbing flash bangs when she passes overhead. This is how one evens odds.

Of course, Kate probably still needs backup. She's a bit outgunned.

Crusader has posed:
The electric arc made by Zarchary certainly stops a good portion of the robbers. Many go down twitching and jerking from the electricty, but are none the less alive! Though someone does call out "Ghost Cats, it had to be Ghost cats! Curse you Spooks!" as if this one robber had to deal with a Ghost Cat before!

Batwoman flash bangs certainly do the trick the loud noise and dilbating lights send the robber scrambling and trying to figure out which way is what! They yell and curse in annoyance and pain (cause light that bright is painful!) When Kate land, one of the loaded van screeches it wheels and moves towards her intending to try and run her over!

Crusader though wasn't far behind. After checking on the hostages he left to trail the goons along with Batwoman (he was not yet aware of Zachary presence). The man seems to come out of nowhere and grab the speeding van by it sides, sliding back and eventualy picking it up off it wheels. Judging by Crusaders face... he didn't exactly know he could do that.

Of course the side door opens and the last of the criminals jump out of the van, guns ready to be blazing. This was the last stand!

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
"What?"

Zach's baffled by the words of the robber. "Have I seen you before?" he wonders, "Huh..."

He doesn't fixate on it. Instead he leaps back into the electrical systems and pops out of a light nearest to where the van was halted, and he leaps in the way of one of the criminals and emits another buzzing blast of electricity. "Zap!" he cheerfully announces as he passes by, leaps on the van, clambers across it and just... sucks up all the energy of the car battery at once in one big bright flash that leaves the vehicle's hood smoking from the heat of the act.

"Can't have them using this to run off!" he exclaims. "Oh, hi!" he greets Crusader, "Wow, you're strong," he remarks, "From cultists to museum robbers, huh?"

Batwoman has posed:
Kate throws up her cape as the van is rushing towardh er as if the fabric might shield her from the blow. No time to get out of the way, no room to doge... And then Crusader picks up an entire vnw in front of her. She stares for a second and looks between the giant and the van of criminals before swallowing, hard. "I had that handled," Kate states slowly. Followed by, "Thanks." The htanks, at least, is genuine.

Then the goons are emerging from the vehicle and she whirls, drawing her gun once more. The first submachine gun wielding criminal takes a bullet to the chest as soon as he emerges and then she is retreating into a running gun battle with the remaining perpetrators. Batwoman follows her instincts and goes for cover as it turns into a firefight, more like a soldier than a superhero. Not that it will be a long fight, most likely. She just isn't the bulletproof one.

Crusader has posed:
The arcing electricity from Zachary hits some fo the robbers and that are subsquentially knocked out from the mini zap! The van wheels are still spinning, but it is clear the van is completly out of juice!

Crusader states plainly to Zachary "No time for chit chat cat, crooks first. Do favor and fry em please" and he drops the van back down with a bang, with a nod of acknowledge to Batwoman before she went to take cover and fire back

Crusader meanwhile simply slide in front of the larger submachine guns. Bullets belt into him, but not through. Several go down from Batwoman shooting at them. They drop to the ground. Though some were trying to still reach for their guns

Crusader himself uses Brute force and strength to take them down, tossing them agaist walls or cutting off their oxygen supply via strangulation. They were baddly bruised from his grip alone. Some try to hit him with the blunt of their guns...and their guns seem to become enveloped into Crusader.

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
"Okay okay," Zachary replies to Crusader, and promptly approaches the rest of the robbers. Unless they pull something especially weird, he goes to each and every one of them and zaps them on the legs, and even their gunfire doesn't seem to do anything to him if they try to focus it on him. He does seem to be pretty ghost-like, though it may not be strict invulnerability.

Crusader knows that Zach isn't invincible. It's an interesting detail to know about a ghost.

"Zap, zap, zap," he sing-songs with each of his incapacitating flashes of electricity, his eyes glowing through the white and blue flashes that arc from his body. "Zzzzap!" He really doesn't need to /say/ Zap, but he can't really help himself.

Batwoman has posed:
A couple more gun shots follow, dropping another one of the gunmen. Then Kate sees an opening. As one is being electrocuted Batwoman holsters her gun and uns forward. She dives at a man holding a pistol and wrenches it from his hands before flipping him to the ground. A second is elbowed in the chest, kicked in the shin, and then she ends up with her boot against his chest. She applies a little weight and takes a deep breath. There's sweat on her cheeks and chin. Silence follows for a second. "Who do you work for?" Kate almost sounds bored when she asks.

Crusader has posed:
All the robbers are down. By now the police were sweeping the inside of the muasame, roudning up the ones they had already taken care of. And well a few ambulances had to be called as well since several of the robbers were indeed injurd.

When Batowman asks the question, the man takes a sharp breath "No...clue. We just take the orders". Well he was quick to give up the intell. Something about him said he was telling the truth

Crusader grunts "Let the police handle that part" he says. Though it clear it is more of a suggestion. He looks to Zacahry and his all to cheery zapping "....Right. Well, thank you" but with nothing left to do, Crusader seems to fade from existance. For a massive man, boy he know how to dissappear
