Cast of Characters: Captain America, Ahadiel, Crusader, Tendril

Captain America has posed:
Steve walked onto the stage with austerity. He had worn a simple black and white suit to put a point on the gravity of it all. He had been asked to visit the steps of the New York City Hall to attend a protest summit concerning the current Anti-Mutant sentiments in congress. Television cameras were pointed at the stage, and many different news organizations had placed their microphones on the lectern. A boisterous crowd attended the ceremony, families of recent attack victims had gathered on the steps behind the stage, some holding candles in memoriam, some holding back tears.

Accustomed as he was to inspirational speeches, in the back of his mind, the scrawny kid from New York had always been present. A quick turn to clear his throat as he approached the lectern, and the grounds suddenly quiet. "Ladies, gentlemen, thank you for inviting me to speak today. We join together to speak out against the recent attacks we have seen lately on the mutant community." The crowd starts to roar with support, signs declaring to stop the violence and solidarity bob up and down with support.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela Davis normally doesn't come to rallies. Mainly because she's always felt so detached from such things. However, given that she's recently started tutoring a young mutant girl herself... she's decided to take a closer look at what exactly is going on with the protests. She's dressed in a pretty casual manner, a far cry from the fashion of the 30s and 40s at least, when she had to wear far more conservative attire...

Still, when Steve begins to speak, she looks up at him, gazing intently at him as she listens. Curiosity mostly, as she seems to be just another face in the crowd for the moment.

Crusader has posed:
As a technicaly former mutant himself, Bjorn felt he showed attend this rally to show his support for people. Heck he tends to like to support good causes anyways! Since at the end of the day they are all sapiant beings. He idle scans the crowd as he watches Steve walk onto the stage. He stuck to the back mostly for his height and not wanting to block people views. But he also had a bad feelings...he has been to too many rallies where things turned...bad. But none the less he roars loudly with the crowd in support! He himself was dressed in a tight fitting short, pair of jean overalls, leather gauntlets, and...boots that looked like they belonged on a bulky power-suit. Not the strangest thing to be in this city surely

Captain America has posed:
Captain Rogers once again spoke up, the crowd quieting again. "This nation, unfortunately has never shook off its own intolerances, no matter if it is the color of your skin, your creed, or your genetics." Steve's blue eyes pierce the crowd, giving a sympathetic eye. "When I took up the shield, I took up upholding the ideals of what America stood for. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness being among them. I come to you now and declare my stance on this issue. I've seen the horrors that intolerance for your fellow man can do. And so help me if I will not stand up against it again." The crowd roars up again, almost in a frenzy at this point.

Always aware of the clout he carried with his opinion, Captain America smiled to reassure the crowd. "Our elected officials are here to serve the people, /not/ to carry on radical ideals behind veiled support." The blonde haired man started a solemn tone. "We remember Layne Dobbs, we remember Carrie Stanley, we remember the other lives extinguished before their time." Across the back is the crowd, men in olive drab uniforms seemed to pepper the crowd, they kept a low key for a moment.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela watches Steve, and actually looks a bit caught up in his words herself. She doesn't cheer, but her eyes are definitely approving of this speech as she listens. Though, she does keep alert... her senses are far more capable of detecting the Infernal or the like. While mortal men and women are capable of worse atrocities (or to their credit, greater charities) than any angel or demon would ever consider.

Crusader has posed:
Bjorn crosses his arms as he listens, giving several nods of approval! It was quite the rousing speech and he roars with the crowd. But something begins to occure to him...something he can't help but notice. As he was in the back, he couldn't help but notice the sudden appearance of people in the olive uniforms. His eyes narrow...but no need cry wolf....yet. His stance shifted just slightly, enough to allow him to run if he had too, but beyound that he didn't do anything, except keep a keen eye on the crowed.

Captain America has posed:
"I urge you, now more than ever, to use the powers that you are guaranteed as Americans! Vote, speak out against these would-be tyrants." Steve looks a bit cautious. "No child should have to worry about making it home safe after school just for being who they" A sharp three round burst pierces the crowd's supportive roar as the men around the crowd make themselves known. Screaming amongst the crowd and immediately people start to disperse frantically.

Captain America stands tall, looking out to the gun-toting Friends of Humanity members with a level of rancor that he tries not to use often at all. He's already prepared for this kind of encounter, reaching down into the lectern and grabbing his shield, he didn't have to call for people to disperse, they were already doing so. Their gunfire pointed at the Captain and certain obvious mutants in the crowd. He hurls the shield with a grand force, protecting a crouched down boy, his skin reptilian-like.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blinks, snapping out of her rapt attention to Captain America's speech at the sound of gunshots, and moves quickly towards one of the gunmen that was shooting at Captain America. Taking advantage of his distraction, she kicks him in the kneecap, dislocating it with a perfectly aimed strike. As he screams, she snatches the rifle from his hands. Then she winds up and smashes him in the head with it, sending him to unconsciousness in a most painful manner. She then moves gracefully through the parting crowd, holding the rifle more like a club as she seeks out more gunmen.

Crusader has posed:
Bjorn himself takes a different path - for such a massive man he was fast! With the shield having protect the reptilian skinned boy, Bjorn tackled the shooting gun man with tremendous force. Enough to knock him down! But he wasn't done there, he hefts up the downed man like a rag dog and throws him towards a group of the olive-uniformed maniacs! Anything to help get these guys down he was willing to do

Tendril has posed:
Alexia is not known for her timing. Let's get that out here, because she's already running late to the speech, having had to do a full on sprint from the bus to make it to where the meeting is taking place. In fact, she's only just arriving at the edge of the crowd, just in time to catch the last little snippet of Captain America's speech...

And then, bullets are flying. With all the adroitness of a long term street kid, she promptly dives behind the nearest cover she can, peering over it. "The FUCK..." she says, before she raises her hand, a long whip-like tendril sprouting and coiling down from her forearm, before she snaps out her arm, aiming the tip at one of the gunmen. She doesn't pull her punch, really...so it's more than enough to send him flying if it connects. Or possibly to shatter his gun if it hits that instead of his chest.

Captain America has posed:
What were once thirteen F.O.H. members in total had suddenly moved down to twelve as Angela strikes a devastating blow to the knee. The other eleven had started to identify who were going to give them trouble, and pointed their rifles accordingly. Three closest to Angela had immediately drawn their fire. Unaware of the woman that obviously did not fear the guns. A group of three gunmen had been bowled down by the unconscious body of their comrade, a cloud of dust billowing up from the impressive feat. Though it seemed three more had set their sights on Bjorn! Unfortunately for them, only one of their rifles was working as they took aim and attempted to fire at the large man. The Captain had shielded the young mutant out from harm's way before running back to the field of battle.

While her timing had not been too punctual, Alexia's savage tendril indeed makes its mark, the AR-20 that he once held rendered useless, but her attack had not gone unnoticed. The same thug that she'd attacked was now barreling towards her, a relatively big guy, charging with the hatred he'd been indoctrinated in. He aimed a fist to her abdomen. "Goddamn mutie puke!" He screamed as his battle cry. The Captain had thrown his shield, a pang sounded out as the shield had connected to two other members before ricocheting off a stone pillar and returning back to its owner.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela hisses as she hears one of the Friends of Humanity take the Name in vain, and she mutters, "I /hate/ profanity." Then she drops into a crouch, staying very low as she takes careful aim with the rifle, making sure it's on single-shot as she starts firing shots at the other "Friends" of Humanity with exceptional accuracy. Right for their legs. Sure, it's not lethal... but they might have problems walking anytime soon.

Crusader has posed:
Bjorn was the human equilivant of a tank. While he may have looked normal...as was essentially 2 tons of metal packed into a large human form. Those bullets were not doing anything to him. Except for perhaps making some dents that appears reddish or bruised but thats about it. But this his ability to tank certainly help keep the man distracted while Angela took out his legs with that accuracy of hers!

Tendril has posed:
The long muscular tendril curls back to Alexia as she flicks it back, her expression cold now as she sees the man running at her, then tightening at the screamed insult. The girl has PLENTY of reason to hate someone like this...someone who'd hurt her just because of how she is....who DID hurt people she cared for, took them from her.

As he lunges at her, she twists, leaping agilely to the side to avoid the rush, before the tendril coils like a snake, curling around him as it tightens like a python. Despite her looks, she's MUCH stronger....and it extends to the tendril, that lifts the man into the air.

"....hey asshole...ever wanted to be th' business part of a flail?" she says conversationally, almost cheerfully, the smile on her lips not touching her eyes.

Her eyes flick towards another group of the gunmen, before the long whip flicks upwards, extending out towards them, then snaps down, using the screaming man at the tip as the lead point of impact as she tries to knock them flying.

Captain America has posed:
Once the two gunmen fixed their weapons, it was almost too late, their bullets merely compressing and falling off the brute Bjorn. One of these souls stopped altogether and dropped his rifle, attempting to flee the scene. "F*$& this, man!" He yells while running, a moving target perhaps?

Angela's bullets fly true as the two 'Friends' fall to the ground, what had been their patellar regions now rendered incapacitated. "Nice shot!" Calls the Captain as he continued to exchange blows with two more of his own. Even in combat, he was aware of what was going down. By this time, some of the smarter members had taken up post behind trash cans and the like, impromptu cover while they attempt to fire back at Angela.

Fortune favors the bold it's said, and nothing says bold more than a human flail. "Uhh...uhh...AHHHHHH!" screams Alexia's would be assailant as he's hefted up with prejudice and used against his fellows. The young mutant's strength is certainly shown, as the connection is made, cracks of bone can be heard as two friends are sent flying to their regretful slumber.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela frowns as she drops down prone, minimizing her profile as she now aims at the cans, shouting, "I'll keep these vermin pinned, I'll trust you all to squash them." She keeps shooting, all the while her voice sings out like a melody, perfect pitch and harmony.

"Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble! Say to those with an anxious heart, 'Take courage and fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance! The recompense of God will come, but She will save you!"

Crusader has posed:
Bjorn cracks his knuckles, it sound more like metal snapping. He charges the men stupid enough to fire on him. As he charges forward he snags the shooting gunmen in both his arms, squezzing them tightly. They gasp for breath but will eventually find themselves blacking out. But he didn't stop there...he was charging right at the man running away. Once close enough enough he uses the two gunman he grabbed like cymbols to slam them into the running man! Of course he is careful not to kill them...but a broken bone or two wouldn't hurt

Tendril has posed:
The man in her grip goes down with a friend in a tumble of yells and the dull snap of bones giving. A part of Alexia quails at that...even feels sick. What did she do?!?

But at the same time, the anger that's burning through her keeps her going, pushing her from that momentary stop as she starts to consider it, as she sees Angela being fired on by two more.

A second tendril sprouts from her other arm as the two reach out, wrapping around a nearby park bench, before she shoves it at the pair firing, trying to bulldoze them off their feet and then pin them under the bench as she slams it down. Harder than she really needs to.

Captain America has posed:
Seems like these men are about to have a very bad day, Bjorn's quick cymbal playing results in three more injured Friends, luckily at this point, no one was dead.

By this time, the sirens have already started to be heard, the NYPD were on the scene to assist in the issue. Luckily for them they will only have unconscious assailants to deal with, and a couple of wide awake F.O.Hers to question all they'd like. Angela's covering fire does the job as Alexia performs her pinning maneuver, those two are now pacified and ready for a trip to Ryker's.

The Captain holds one of the two he had been fighting by the arm, leveraged in a way that he was not going to move from any time soon. The usually stoic Captain was not happy. He looked across the gallery, there were three people on the ground, being attended to by Good Samaritans and the small grouping of officers that were performing field triage. A couple officers approached the pinned down assailants and loaded them up in the paddy wagon.

Ambulances came next, but they needed more time to transport everyone. The Captain gladly hands off his detainee to one of New York's Finest, before wiping his hands clean.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela clears the ammo clip from the gun, making sure the safety is on as she rises to her feet, then looks over at Captain America, blinking a bit. She looks around, then glances back to Captain America, looking unfazed by the fact it's Captain America. She simply says, "I'm glad you brought the shield. I didn't think these people would be quite /this/ bold." Her head tilts, as she regards the Captain curiously... as if trying to place him from somewhere.

Crusader has posed:
And Bjorn...has never been one to stick around when the cops showed up. He takes one last look to everyone from Captain America to Angela and Alexia...before walking with the crowd. He double back through the crowd several times...but each time he passes theough, he takes on a slightly different look...untill he looks like a different person all togeather. And with that he sets to helping other people where he can.

Tendril has posed:
Likewise, the arrival of the police has the young mutant girl quickly restracting her tendrils again, reabsorbing them as they leave little purple swirls on her skin where they sprouted, then moves over to Angela and Captain America quickly. "Glad yer okay lady, nice shooting; Captain, big fan, great speech of what I heard, sorry about th' jerks, think I better go before they ask about th' broken bones, but byeeeeee!"

She's jogging past as she definitely attempts to evade any questions from anyone resembling an authority. For one, the headmaster would, perhaps, LITERALLY kill her if she was arrested for beating up FoH types at a public event. Well, maybe not, but...he would be DRY IN TONE. Maybe even DISAPPOINTED. Shudder.

Captain America has posed:
Steve gives a bit of a sheepish smile to Angela. "Neither did I, but as they say 'be prepared.' Although I must admit, I brought it for the kids to take pictures with, not to actually /need/ to use it." Although he doesn't bring it out to everything he does, it seemed appropriate to bring it with him today.

Captain America (sans uniform) had looked around, seemingly misplacing where Bjorn had gone off to, no bother, he'd hoped the man knew that Steve was thankful. "No bother at all miss." He smiled at the young girl before she started to run off. "Be safe!"

His attention then turned back to Angela, unsure of where or how he recognized her. Something seemed familiar at least. "Steve Rogers." He said, offering a shake.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela smiles warmly, "Angela Davis." She takes the offered hand, shaking it firmly as she does have that familiar look about her. Though the name wouldn't ring any bells, as she had a far different name back then of course. She gives the hand a slight squeeze because, well, Captain America! Then she hmms, "Never thought those gun lessons would come in handy for something like /this/, I have to admit. Though it seems that humanity never seems to learn not to hate that which is different." Her voice grows a bit sad with that, head shaking ever so slightly in a touch of resignation.

Captain America has posed:
"Miss Davis." He offered back in a friendly tone. "I am just glad it seemed no one was lost today, thanks to everyone's quick thinking." Steve had to frown just a bit as he saw past the violence of the day. "No, they haven't. They say its human nature, but this, this is what I hate to see, what I strive to change." He offered, looking back around. He would have to give a statement, but it bothered him none, It was his duty.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela nods, "Well, I shouldn't be cynical. There's always people willing to do what's right, too." She smiles a bit, "I've... felt that one should try to do the right thing, not just what you're told to do. But then you of all people would know that, right?" She doesn't mind giving her own statement, eventually, when asked.

Captain America has posed:
Steve manages a chuckle when his sense of duty is pointed out. "Well, that's part of what we all try to inspire in people." He offers, before he puts a finger to his chin. "You know, I have the strangest feeling I've met you before... But it couldn't be. Unless of course you're over a hundred like me."

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela blinks, then laughs, "Now, I know you're not calling me old, Mr. Rogers..." Her laugh is rather musical, as if she just can't help it, then she tilts her head, "But... hm. You do seem rather familiar. I mean, not as Captain America and all that, but, something else..."
