Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Zatanna Zatara, Huntress

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
The show wrapped up in typical fashion - a death defying feat from which the Mistress of Magic escaped - with considerable style and panache. The audience cheered and applaudeed loudly, Zatanna and her crew took a bow and then disappeared as the audience members filed out.

Some time later at a small Thai restaurant not far from the theatre, Zatanna sat sipping tea while waiting on a friend to stop by after the show.

Huntress has posed:
It wasn't the first of Zee's shows that Helena caught, but it was the first one where she sat stage-side. Courtesy of the star performer, of course. Since that first show Helena has been catching Zatanna's act whenever the magician performs in Gotham, and tonight was no exception.

Wearing a flattering purple minidress, she weaves her way through the tables in the Thai place towards the performer at the back. "I know I'm not supposed to ask how you do that, but how DO you do that?"

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara looked up as the dark haired woman arrived. She offered a light wave and stood up to deliver a friendly hug. "Hello." She laughs merrily, "I'll take that as a "Why, Yes, Zee, I absolutely loved the show! then, hmm?" A wink as she moves to sit, "Care for some tea?" Gesturing to the pot and a second cup she adds, "It was just delivered a few minutes ago." Then, settling back, she offers a coy smile, "I could tell you. Or show you. How I do that. And many other tricks. But you'd have to sign a release form longer than a child's Christmas list. And then you'd have to be blindfolded and wear ear plugs. So." She shrugs and offers an impish smile.

Huntress has posed:
Helena returns the hug, chuckling at the response. "Well I don't want to stoke your ego -too- much, after all." she replies. Settling smoothly, she nods at the offer of tea. "Yes, please. And I -did- absolutely enjoy the show, for the record." Shaking her head, then, she lifts a palm in a warding gesture. "It's okay; you can keep your mysterious secrets, Magic-Lady."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara grins as she sits back down. "I'm glad. When I had a moment I'd glance over and you seemed to be having a good time. Maybe next time I'm in Gotham I'll bring you up on stage and have you join me in the act" she teases. "You'd make a great addition. Your kids would go crazy" she laughed before sipping at her tea, moving to cradle the cup in both hands.

Huntress has posed:
Helena is already shaking her head when Zee starts the suggestion, and by the time it's out she's waggling a finger as well. "Uhn-uh. Not that I don't trust you not to cut me in half, of course. I just don't trust my kids NOT to pay you off." She pours herself a cup of tea as well, holding it formally between fingertips before sipping.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara laughs. "I'm incredibly hard to bribe, I'll have you know." She pauses, "It'd take at least... twenty dollars to get me to have second thoughts about assuring your safety. Maybe even fifty.." she's so convincing isn't she?

Huntress has posed:
Helena lifts a dark brow at that, looking curious. She lets her tea cool a moment before answering, with a wry smirk. "A whole fifty? Gee whiz." she replies. Then she laughs softly. "I teach at one of the less-affluent high schools in Gotham. I doubt if my entire class could come up with fifty bucks."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara smiles, "I meant cents." She winks. "I'm nothing but filled with integrity!" She looks at the menu, "And hopefully good food. Soon. 'm STARVING after the show!" She then adds, "But I AM going to get you on stage. Never say never!"

Huntress has posed:
Helena was -almost- taking another sip of tea, narrowly avoiding a spit-take. A stifled laugh, then she does manage a sip without incident. "The food here is some of the best Thai you'll find on the East Coast." she replies. "But other than with my school kids, I'm not very good with people."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara smiles, successful in getting Helena to laugh. "I'd agree with you completely. I love this place. I miss being able to eat here as often as I used to when I lived in Gotham." She then smiles, "Being good with people doesn't mean you have to like everyone or make them like you. It just means you have to make them think you like them and get them to do what you want." She offers an impish grin. "And that? I'm pretty sure means you're better with people than you want to let on, or think that you are anyway."

Huntress has posed:
"Trust me when I tell you that I'm really cranky at the end of a school day. Some have even implied that I have antisocial tendencies." Or psychotic tendencies, as it were. Helena looks around, then, perhaps searching for a server to accost. "Want me to go back into the kitchen and shake things up a bit?"

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara smiles. "Shh... stop it." She then gestures to the tea, "Have some more tea, Helena. Relax. This supposed to be a quiet dinner after the show between friends. Not some wild Buddy Cop action flick" she teases. "Really. It's fine. They're busy. They'll be by quickly enough, once they realize my friend is here, now."

Huntress has posed:
Helena wrinkles her nose, relaxing a bit instead of getting up after all. "I suppose you're right. And besides, you ARE a celebrity after all. Ms. Zatara." Chuckling, Helena refreshes her tea and then asks. "Would that be short for 'Miss', I assume? You somehow don't seem like the marrying kind."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara nods. "Of course I'm right!" she teases. "Ms. Zatara? Well. It would be Miss, yes. I've not been married. Maybe one day, but not right now. Too busy." She sips at her tea. "What about you?" she asks.

Huntress has posed:
Helena smirks, wrinkling her nose to suppress a soft snort. "I still think of 'Mrs. Bertinelli' as my mother, if you must know." And there's enough of a mood shift at the mention of family to cause one of those uncomfortable silences in the conversation. "So no. Not in a hurry, either." She brightens, then. "Ah, here we are..." And then the waitress arrives with dinner.

None too soon.
