18/The New Girl

The New Girl

Synopsis:	Supergirl visits the Tower for the first time and meets Donna Troy

Supergirl has posed:
Yesterday was the first time the world glimpsed Supergirl. The blonde teenager dressed in a costume similar to Superman's and showing much of his same powers, joining other heroes to stop a robbery at the Metropolis Mint had set off a wave of speculation as to who she was. But, for the girl herself, Kara was just relieved that neither her cousin nor her adoptive parents were angry with her for going into action without everyone agreeing she was ready. In fact, it was just the opposite. Kal-El and the Danvers were proud of Kara. Regardless, everyone eagreed that Kara still needed more training. Especially training in working with a team. And it was Superman who had the suggestion to solve this issue...

And so, Supergirl finds herself on this island off the coast of Nassau County, in the midst of a massive contruction effort. This was going to be the home of the Titans, eventually. Heroes who were closer to Kara's age than Superman's associates. And, not without some nervousness, Supergirl walks to the entrance lobby, pokes her head in, and asks, "Hello? Are any of the Titans home?"

Troia has posed:
    Right about then the elevator opens to reveal a VERY tall black haired woman who happens to be in very baggy shorts and a loose shirt. Even without heels this woman is tall....well over 6 feet.

She steps into the lobby and looks at Supergirl for a moment. "You must be Supergirl...the one who stopped the Mint robbery. Well...one of a few, I should say. It's a pleasure to meet you....."

Supergirl has posed:
There's something familiar about the raven-haired woman, but Supergirl can't quite figure it out, yet. She nods to the question and walks towards the other heroine. "That's right. I'm Kara Zor-El....well, Supergirl is probably easier." The blonde girl smiles and holds out her hand to shake. Now that she's right next to Wonder Girl, Kara feels a bit intimidated; the Amazon has a good half of foot of height on the Kryptonian. But, Kara keeps smiling, although she shifts to stand straighter to lessen the difference in height. "It hasn't been made public, but I'm actually Superman's cousin. From Krypton. But, you probably realized where I'm from..." Kara laughs, her nervousness at meeting people evident. "But, it's very nice to meet you."

Troia has posed:
    "We'll stick with Supergirl since that's...pretty much what your uniform says." Wonder Girl says pointing to the 'S' on Supergirl's chest. "And...that's another one I've guessed. Also with having the same uniform." She then shakes Supergirl's hand.....and her grip is strong, even on Supergirl's hand. "Well....at least that family secret is safe from other people's hands. Usually if you make an enemy, they go after family members."

Supergirl has posed:
Donna's grip does surprise Kara some; she's not used to dealing with other people with her level of strength. But rather than shock, Supergiurl looks relieved to discover that she needs a bit less caution around Wonder Girl. "I can imagine," she says after the handshake. "To be honest, I'm still getting used to the whole 'secret identity' thing. But I completely understand. I have friends and an adoptive family in my secret ID, and I certainly want to keep them safe from villains looking to attack Supergirl."

Troia has posed:
    "It can work for those that wish to protect the ones they care about, especially if they do not have the same powers as you." Donna then chuckles. "I'm going to guess that you wish to join the Titans here to assist us in fighting evil." She then takes a breath. "My manners are atrocius. I am Donna Troy, known to the people here as Wonder Girl."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara laughs and shakes her head to Donna's self-admonishment. "It's alright. I don't think there was any clear protocol for me just showing up on your doorstep like this. And, call me Kara, if you'd like. This may be Earth and not Krypton, but friends still use each other's given names here." She takes a quick breath, starting to feel more comfortable. "I'm here not just to help fight, but to keep training in my powers. And to learn how to be part of a group." She pauses, then adds in a quieter tone, "And meet others about my age? Freinds that I don't have to pretend to be someone else around. School is fine, and I make freinds there, but I can't very well tell them about..." Kara gestures to her costume. "This."

Troia has posed:
    "No, you certainly can't. PLus, if someone found out who you were, your friends would become targets as well. Which is why this is a great adventure for you....and myself as well. As for training.....you need more than just training in your powers. If you're the same as Superman, then you rely more upon brute force than your actual fighting strength.....at least that's what Diana says. So.....I shall do my best to train you.....as Artemis trained me....and you shall be better than Superman....at least when it comes to fighting technique."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara thinks about Wonder Girl's words and offer. Slowly, she nods in agreement. "That makes sense," she says. "It's just...a big adjustment for me. We had peace officers on Krypton, and Krypton did have a warrior tradition in the past. But for the most part, we had achieved a peaceful existence. Peace officers were only needed for the extremly rare cases of mentally unballanced individuals. Or to assist in the event of natural disasters or accidents. And most peace officers came from Houses and Families with long histories of service to Krypton. It wasn't what I ever imagined myself to be." Kara smiles slightly, one side of her lips lifting up. "I was always going to be an artist. Much to my father's dismay. Members of our House were the greatest scientists on Krypton. HOwever..." Supergirl thinks for a bit more, then nods. "You are right. If I am to accept the responsibility of becoming a protector, I must learn to become an efficient one, with all the training that would entail."

Troia has posed:
    "Just because you are a protector, doesn't mean you can't be an artist, or a scientist, or even a botanist. To be Supergirl, you are a protector.....and a protector can be many things." Donna then chuckles a bit. "Just.....like I said...not everything requires brute force......"

Supergirl has posed:
"But it does come in handy," Supergirl replies, smiling. "I understand. And I am more than happy to learn from you. From anyone. I'm the stranger here, trying to figure out how I fit in. And I'm fortunate to have so many people trying to help me find my own way." Another breath, the Kara looks around the building. "So...is there any proceedure for me to join the Titans? Any tests I must take or things I must do to prove myself?"

Troia has posed:
    "As far as I'm concerned, you're in. You've already fought evil once....and yes, there is a news report upon it. As for your training, well....when we start, you'renot allowed to use your powers, except for flight....and I'll do my best to teach you how to fight like an amazon." She then looks up. "Sadly.....the tower won't be finished for a while. I'll see what I can do about getting you a room here...."

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl's eyes brighten. "Oh, thank you!" And she rushes in to give Womder Girl a hug. "Sorry..." she says a moment later as she backs away. "It's just nice to be accepted by strangers who aren't your direct family or freinds of the family. That I'm being accepted for just being me, instead of Superman's cousin. I'm just glad that mostly, the humans I encounter are overwhelmingly positive and good natured."

Troia has posed:
    Donna actually returns the hug, even after Supergirl pulls away. 'it's quite fine, Kara. But, we'll stick to codenames when we're in costume. And, you've been honest with me since we met, and I haven't had to use my lasso on you. So, that's a good start. As for being Superman's cousin, we're....in the same boat. I'm Wonder Woman's sister. She is Princess Diana of Thymscira. I'm Second Princess DOnna Troy."
