Hunger from the Deep
Date of Scene: 05 August 2017
Location: Atlantic Ocean
Synopsis: Heroes arrive at the site of a cargo ship under attack frhom ravenous sea monsters!
Cast of Characters: Aquaman, Stargirl, Wonder Woman, Black Knight, Doctor Doom, Green Lantern (Jordan), Sister Reinhardt

Aquaman has posed:
Somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, in the vicinity of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, a large freighter has come under attack, not by pirates, nor aliens from above, or even villainous robot-men, but something far more insidious, with a dangerous hunger that has emerged from the deep.

A general distress call was sent out by the freighter, the Dutch flagged container ship "Future" approximately 10 minutes ago, frantic, claiming something had eaten one of the crew. Several minutes after, a call for backup went out across the Justice League communicators by Aquaman requesting assistance.

The scene aboard the ship when our Heroes begin to arrive is tense, signs of damage to containers can be seen, the signs of someone having been thrown into one, and the rending steel from claws in another. Atop one of the stacks is Aquaman, his scaled armor ripped, and blood leaking from his chest, a red flag for those with the right knowledge, that the claws of these creatures are capable of drawing blood on argueably one of the toughest metahumans. He stands in a tense standoff with one of these creatures, trident held in a defensive posture as he fends off a monstrous humanoid fish creature, sharp teeth, large eyes, sharp claws, looking quite aquatic in their nature. Several more of these creatures can be seen moving across the deck of the ship, lurking and hunting for the crew.

Stargirl has posed:
A shooting star comes blazing over the horizon. No, it must be a comet... no, as it comes closer to the ship it becomes clear that it's a girl - a young blonde woman dressed in the colors of the American flag: white stars on blue with red trim. She's standing on a long golden staff, surfing on it through the air, a golden nimbus surrounding them both as she flies. Stargirl descends, looking over the situation as she gets close. "Hey!" she shouts from just dozens of feet above the deck, hoping to get the attackers' attention. "Fish-faces, hey! Up here! Whoo-hoo... look at me!" and she waves her arms frantically. "Right here!"

Wonder Woman has posed:
The call to the Justice League had been received and additional support was sent.

Racing above the waters of the Atlantic ocean, the scream of strange engines could be heard. High enough to not effect the water itself, the invisible vehicle moved at tremendous speed.

As it drew near to the source of the distress call, the sounds of the vehicle could be ehard screaming overhead. Seconds later a singular figure appeared in the sky, descending in free-fall the figure began to take shape.

"Arthur, I am here." Wonder Woman said into the communicator as she slowed her descent, allowing her gifted flight pwoer to take control of her body now. She swept in quickly toward the ship, until she landed on the vessel's hull, standing atop its Bridge's roof.

Wonder Woman looked around at the carnage across the sea vessel, she let her blue eyes scan the situation to gather as much information as she could. Then she reached for her back to draw her sword and shield.

"What have you been up to without me?" She said trhough the ear-piece to Arthur while eyeing Courtney, another new face to the super-heroing game (at least to her knwoledge).

Black Knight has posed:
Atop his blazing white, supersonic winged steed, Strider, The Black Knight surveys the scene before him. His armor glints in the sunshine, black and gold sparkling in the sun. His attention fixes on Aquaman, taking the man's plight in and working out the best tactical move to help the other hero. He might not be be affiliated with the Justice League, but The Lady in the Lake does have a soft spot for what goes on in the waters across the world.

Dane tightens his legs, giving the signal for Strider to dive at the mass of fish creatures. He hovers, buffeting the creatures with Strider's wings, hoping to give Aquaman a moment to breathe. The Sword of Light Glitters in his hand while the Shield of Knight adorns the opposite arm. As he wasn't the first on the scene, he defers to Aquaman, calling loudly over, "Hail, Your Majesty! The Lady of the Lake sends her regards! How might I help?"

Doctor Doom has posed:
Meanwhile, one of the creatures cackles and hisses as it seems to have cornered one of the crew. The man screams in terror, raising his arms in a futile gesture to ward off the killing blow. The creature raises its claws, roaring in triumph. It doesn't seem to notice the door-like portal opening behind it, nor the tall man stepping through said portal clad in a white metal armor, green cloak and hood adorning his shoulders.

Then the man raises his hand, aiming at the creature, and without saying a word a green bolt of light shoots out, instantly disintegrating the humanoid fish creature. The armored man glances down at the cowering crewman, "Know that your life was saved because it was convenient for Doom to do so." The armored man then imperiously turns, looking for more of these Lovecraftian monsters that are interfering with Doom's affairs, uncaring if the crewman manages to find safety or not. Or else leaving him as bait for more Deep Ones to approach...

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
An emerald streak appears in the distance and gets closer...fast! As it gets within eye shot, a man appears within the emerald coloured sphere. It is Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814! The sphere moves towards the ship and slows down to under Mach 1.

Pulling up short, and hovering above the commotion, Hal nods towards the others present, especially Wonder Woman, and says, "Hey there. Heard the distress call. Need any help?" That was when he spots Arthur. In need of an assist.

With a push of his will, and the connection between himself and his ring so strong, Hal moves swiftly and lands near Aquaman.

With a large grin Hal says, "Looks like you could use some help."

Almost missing the fish creature moving to his right, Hal jerks suddenly, aiming his ring, and firing a set of pincers at the fish creature. Lifting it up into the air, he flicks his wrist, and the fish creature finds itself proplled several miles away, his splash barely registered as Hal turns back to face more shadows lurking in the background, including a quick glance at...Doom? Really?

Aquaman has posed:
"Diana, Hal. Good to see you." Arthur says to the two other members of the Justice League, barely managing to avoid a stream of spittle expelled by the creature he is facing off with. "Their spit is some form of toxin, try to avoid getting hit by it!" The arrival of the Black Knight, and the distraction it causes the creature is enough of an opening for the expert combatant that is Aquaman to lance it with his Trident in the midsection, then fling it off into the ocean. A handful of the creatures in the vicinity follow their wounded 'comrade' overboard, and rather than attempt a rescue, begin devouring it. "I do not know how many there are, but the crew is in their safe room, I do not know that it will keep them safe against these things, however!" He calls out loudly to any who might be near enough to hear.

Courtney Whitmore will get the attention she seeks as she shouts out, one of the creatures leaping up to get as close as it might towards her, before unleashing a paralytic spit towards the star-spangled woman!

Doom will likewise gain the attentions of one of the creatures, as it lifts one of the Cargo Containers and hurl it, apparently with great ease, towards the armor clad super villain with little more than a hiss to show its displeasure.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's eyes would go toward the Lantern as he sent the creature flying at least a kilometer away from the ship. "Hal." She'd say to him in an even tone, before her gaze would then travel up toward Dane Whitman and his... winged steed. "It is good to see so many helpful souls come to a call for ai--."

Her sentence was cut off when one of these wretched monsters appeared over the edge of the bridge roof and leapt at her! She narrowed her eyes, swung her shield arm at it and following a resounding dull metalic *THUD* the creature's screams followed its tumbling body out into the water!

"-- Call for aide..." Diana finished her sentence.

Stargirl has posed:
Stargirl's forcefield should easily take care of the glob of venom and Courtney ripostes, firing a blast of energy from the staff she's standing on - it should knock the creature into the water. She blazes the forcefield aura about her, shooting out sparks and flashes, still hoping more of the foes will try to attack her rather than the poor crewmen or even the other heroes.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Arthur. Diana." Hal grins and returns the greetings. "Spit. Toxin. Got it." Hal maintains his emerald shield around himself. "Just say the word, and I can surround my shield around anyone that needs it." Hal says loud enough for everyone fighting the fish dudes to hear. As Diana deals with her creature, Hal just shakes his head, and chuckles. Hal also notices that Courteny looks like she is okay.

Nodding as Arthur adds the crew should be relatively safe in their rooms, Hal grunts as a fish creature attempts to swipe at him with claws...which bounce off his shield.

"Anyone know where these things came from...and why they attacked this ship?" Hal's will takes form into a giant vacuum cleaner, like the one in Spaceballs, and sucks up three of the creatures.

Wtth a reversal of the suction, the three creatures are fired up into the air, and sent in the direction of the last one. Hopefully they will get the point...or they will inevitably get Arthur's trident point.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
A little late to the party a blue comet can be seen heading for the freighter as well. As it flies overhead, it angles right for the freighter and actually fires a blue beam at one of the fishmen to lift it off of the frieghter and hold it off of the ship...and out of the water.

Slowing, the comet turns out to be the Blue Lantern. And she looks a little....perplexed. "Well this is certainly different."

Naturally.....Hal's going to know she's there, by one of the more passive effects of her ring.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doom makes a gesture with one hand, looking rather nonchalant as the container that was thrown at him slows to a stop, a series of green fiery glyphs floating around his fingers. "Doom cares nothing about you, creature, until you interfere in his affairs. That, Doom does /not/ allow." With that, he snaps his fingers, the container suddenly reversing course with rapid speed and slamming into the fish creature that threw it. Whether the thing is dead or not doesn't matter to Doom, as he looks for additional fishmen. He either doesn't notice or (more likely) doesn't care about the superheroes hovering above the ship as he goes about his business.

Black Knight has posed:
Dane salutes both Aquaman and Wonderwoman with very real knightly respect for the two heroes. He calls to Diana, "Once an Avenger, always an.." He nudges Strider and flies past a pair of the creatures looking to flank the Justice League heroes. His magically keen blade flashes twice as he strikes them down, finishing his sentence with, "Avenger!"

Strider takes the Black Knight up towards the safe room indicated by Aquaman. He dismounts and gives a gentle pat to his steed, murmuring, "Take these men and women to safety, Strider. Speed of of the essence." He's knocking on the door and yells, "This is The Black Knight. I would evacuate you. Two at the time, if you please. I will ensure your safety, on my word."

Strider, should the crew follow the orders, takes off with a decisive snort, leaving the Knight to watch over the remaining civilians.

Aquaman has posed:
The wounded fish monster is devoured in seconds by its comrades, but that gives Arthur enough time to leap down onto the deck and intercept their return aboard the ship. The King of Atlantis is getting much of the attention of these creatures, the blood seeping from his ripped armor and chest no doubt making the Atlantean stand out even more.

"I believe the knight has gone to start ushering them to safety!" Arthur calls out, "Hal, if he needs a hand protecting the evacuees please give it!" A lunge from one of the creatures causes Aquaman to pause his commands, batting away the beast with the blunt end of his trident. "Diana, make sure none of them get below decks! Everyone else, help me with the beasts on the deck!"

More of the creatures begin coming aboard, it is hard to say exactly how many, climbing up the towering hull of the ship with their sharp claws. The Majority of these creatures, however, start swarming towards Aquaman and Wonder Woman, the two heroes the easiest to gain access to by the monsters, the fliers, for the most part, ignored by the bulk of the beasts, though this allows for a little latitude in how the fliers operate, energy beams from Courtney proving effective, and the container of Doom's sending the creature flying. Where these beasts are wounded, they are quickly turned on by the swarm, and devoured.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would look to Hal for just a moment after he asked that question. "Perhaps it is something that the ship has in its cargo." She suggested as for why the creatures were attacking this boat. "... Or perhaps they are simply hungry."

Either way, when the flying horse went to save the crew, Diana's form passed right beside the wings of the elegant steed as she dropped down to the deck. She turned her eyes to watch Doom and his green glyphs... she didn't know who he was... but he was certainly intriguing.

When Arthur's order to protect the ship's interior decks below she nodded and rushed toward the hatches leading into the vessel where there were four Slimey Creatures already slamming on the door, busting it down!

Diana lunged in a sliding leg sweep, that ended with all four of the Beasts down on their backs on either sides of her while she leaped up to her armored boots and pushed her way inside the ship herself! The creatures chased her inside... but only a mere second later a powerful burst of kinetic energy sent the bodies of all four creatures flying back out from inside the ship!

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Ring-Bearer, note presence of Blue Lantern in the vicinity. Power at 150 percent. Power at 200 percent." Hal looks down at his ring, and nods, distracted for just a monent. Seeing Suzanne arrive, Hal smiles. That was a time for one of the creatures to strike, as Hal lets his guard down for just a second.

That second was enough. Somehow, its claw gets through his shield, and three long gashes appear on Hal's back. Grimacing, Hal flashes his will, and the creature goes flying over the deck after a powerful green energy field flings it there.

"That was a rookie mistake." Hal says, trying to see how bad it was. "Dammit..." He says under his breath, and tries to maintain his shield and his will. Looking over at Doom as he deals with his problem, Hal shakes his head and grumbles, "Nice. Figures he'd deal with the problem without issue." That was when he notices the duo trying to sneak up on Doom, behind his back..."DOOM! Behind you!"

Another arrival distracts Hal though, preventing him from assisting Doom. A winged rider with armor and a sword...the Black Knight. Nodding respectfully towards him, Hal says, "Welcome to the party Sir Knight. Arthur has asked that I assist in protecting you and the precious cargo." Hal grins, as his accent and voice sounds weird as he attempts a British accent. Hal. Being silly, but doing his job as he prevents a fish dude from attacking members of the crew with a cascading shield of a green avalanche of...was that green snow?

Nodding, Hal turns back to WW, and says, "You are probably right Diana!" Hal says over the din happening all around him. "Either or!"

Stargirl has posed:
"You things chose the wrong ship to attack! The cavalry is here and there's probably more of us coming!" Stargirl calls, though since they probably don't speak English, the attempt at intimidation probably falls flat. She drops a bit further, now hovering a bit over Arthur's head, blasting away. She's ready to extend her forcefield over the Atlantean should he get swamped in foes. "Go home, you things!"

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doom says, absently, "Your naivete is charming, girl, but there's only one way that these creatures will depart." His eyes narrow, as he changes his tactics. Watching how they treat their wounded comrades... well, that's when Doom starts shooting to wound the creatures, blasting them in the legs with the powered gauntlets in his armor to reduce their mobility. Which causes the fish creatures to turn on their wounded comrades. Doom doesn't seem to react to Hal's shout, as the one creature is sneaking up behind him...

... Only to find itself face to... well, palm, of Doom's gauntlet. With that, he doesn't bother to /wound/ this one, blasting it squarely in the face and send its lifeless corpse to the deck. He then glances up towards Hal, nodding slightly in acknowledgement of the warning as he goes back to wounding the fish people and letting them feast on each other. Gruesome, but an effective means of crowd control in this situation.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
The Blue Lantern is really out of her element here. She's THAT new to this. She looks at the mayhem, and even at Hal getting stratched by the 'beast'. She winces herself, and directs a beam directly at Hal. Not only will she hit him, but she'll heal the scratch Hal got. "Maintain your focus, Lantern. The people on the ship are depending upon you and your friends. Remain hopeful!" Sound advice from....a newbie.

Black Knight has posed:
The sonic boom of Strider heralds his trips back and forth from land to ship as he does as Dane asked of him. He's a fast flying horse. Pegasus can suck it.

Dane smiles over at Green Lantern, chuckling at the accent as charges a group of fish creatures. He bowls into them shield first, the magic of the Shield of Knight holding the claws at bay, but leaving it in dire need of repainting. His sword flashes out as he starts a dance of death around the small group of creatures. It almost looks easy until he misjudges and is hit from behind by one of the super strong fish monsters. It sends him flying, faceplanting into one of the metal walls of the cargo ship. He struggles for a moment to dislodge himself, leaving a Knight sized imprint in the metal. He shakes himself, clearing his head before, with a word of magic, trading his Sword of Light with the Photon Sword instead. The flip of a switch and the blade of the sword engulfs his fist, providing him with super strength that he puts to good use, smacking one of them hard enough to send it flying off the ship.

When he has half a moment, he grates out, "Well met, Green Lantern." He flashes a pained smile. "They're surprisingly strong for herring, no?" His eyes flick up, seeing Strider coming back for another couple crewmembers, he calls, "Another group coming up the ladder, Lantern! Hold them off while I get a couple more loaded onto Strider, if you please?" He casts a wary glance at the half dozen crawling over each other to get up said ladder, urging the next two crew members onto the steed as quick as he can.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Thank you Blue Lantern." Hal nods as he feels the pain and the poison evaporate from his system. "I appreciate the advice. Hope it is. Combine that with my will, and confidence, and we'll win the day!" With a wink at Suzanne, Hal wills himself off of the deck, and goes about protecting the escaping civilians...shields and energy blasts now working at 200 percent their normal effectiveness. It is a power that can be very addictive...

After a quick glance at Doom and at Courteny to see if they are alright, Hal concentrates on assisting the Black Knight and the evacuation of the passengers. "That they are sir!" Hal grins. "You got it! Holding off!" Using his will, he prevents any creature from attacking the crew. After admiring Dane's combat abilities, he takes a moment to check up on someone else.

"You okay Stargirl?" Hal asks, as he floats nearby, picking off the Fish Creature that tries to get to close to the horse adding another couple of passengers.

Continuing to provide support to all that need it, Hal takes a tactical position above the deck, and keeps hammering the fish dudes. Literally. A large green hammer seems to prove that it is, indeed, Hammer Time!

Aquaman has posed:
"I think they're just hungry! But why this ship, I do not know!" Arthur calls back in response to Diana's words, his struggle with the horde is intense, stabs and thrusts, dodged spits, and a generally rather intense fight. "Once you have the crew safe, I shall try to lead them overboard, and away from the ship!" A glance up will notice the assistance of Courtney and he nods to the star-spangled kid, "If you can help keep them at bay, that would be appreciated!"

Wonder-Woman proves to be an excellent bulwark standing between the monsters, and their path towards the juicy, tasty crewmen that Dane and Green Lantern are evacuating, and Doom appearently runs roughshod over the creatures that come into contact with his magical beams and the like, causing the creatures to start attacking each other in a gruesome display.

Stargirl has posed:
"Good work, Chrome D... er, your High Excellency or whatever." That Stargirl calls to Doom after he acts. A wave and a smile for the Green Lantern. "Doing great!" She looks down to the King of the Sea. "Aquaman? Where are they coming from? The others probably have the deck taken care of, do you want me to go with you under the water to have a look around?

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doom doesn't look annoyed at Stargirl. He must be in a generous mood, or have other things on his mind. Seeing that the main threats are well contained for the time being, he creates another portal in the air in front of him. Without a word to the heroes, he steps through...

... and emerges inside the ship near Diana. He frowns slightly, "As suspected." While Diana is currently engaging the fishmen nearby, he begins weaving arcane symbols into the air in front of a door leading to one of the interior compartments. What they are, is anyone's guess, though he does say to Diana, "Keep them from interrupting me. This will require my full concentration." He pauses, then actually adds something as an afterthought, as if to stress the gravity of what he's working on, "If you please."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
What Aquaman and Wonder Woman will notice is that much of Green Lanterns shields are a lot stronger. Then the Blue Lantern lowers herself near Wonder WOman and Aquaman. "Whatever crew doesn't make it to the flying horse, guide them onto that platform over there." She says pointing to a blue platform off the ship. She then blocks some of the venomous spit, and starts to puch them off of the opposite side of the deck.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's attention was on the creatures and keeping them out of the ship's interior when DOOM arrived. She glanced back over her shoulder to stare at him for a moment, hearing his words she just exhaled and did as she needed to keep the mosnters back. But they were rushing quite furiously.

With sword swinging and shield bashing, Diana was keeping them at-bay. When two slipped in through an alternate hatchway, the Princess drew her lasso and swung it around their bodies moments before they landed on Doom after lunging in his direction!

The golden glowing lasso swung the monsters into the bulkheads with loud crushing noises!

"Best hurry." Diana warned the Doctor of Doom.

Black Knight has posed:
Hearing the Blue Lantern, Dane does a fast survey of the safest path from the remaining crew to Suzanne's platform. He gives a nod, shouting to the remaining crewmembers, "Behind me. We're moving fast. You might not know of me, but The Green Lantern will be defending our flanks and rear. Move fast and find your grit. One of the universes finest is your bulwark. I am your vanguard. Ready! Ready!" And with that, Dane charges forward to clear a path for the remaining survivors to get to that platform.

His Photonic fist flashes. Dane tumbles and rolls in ways that his full plate should make impossible, were it not for elven magic. He fights with a discipline and controlled savagery that allows him to stand against the likes of Thor and Captain America, all for those who need him right now. He almost makes it too, cutting a swath through the remaining fish creatures. It's the final larger group of five that mob him and pull him down, straining the magic of his armor and that of the Ebony blade. He shouts, "Go! Get on that platform! Get you to safety!"

He fights like a demon then, photonic fist and Shield of Night fending off the fish brutes in a battle of attrition he will lose without assistance. "Stargirl," he calls desperately. "Your Majesty!"

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom doesn't make a witty rejoinder, as that sort of thing is beneath him. Still, he does work on the warding spell for... whatever is deeper inside the ship. Then, he doesn't smile, but does have an air of satisfaction as there's a sudden green flash from the sealed door, and Doom nods. "There. It is done." What, exactly, is hard to say, but Doom said it was, so it really depends on how far you trust him.

Then Doom hears the cry from Dane, and another portal appears, leading to the top of the ship, "There is no need to dally here, Princess. After you." He then unleashes his technological might on the brutes, again focusing on wounding one so the others break off the attack to pounce their fallen comrade.

Aquaman has posed:
"Stay with the ship, I'm just leading them away, not looking for where they've come from!" Arthur responds to Courtney's offer of assistance, the Aquaman then punching one of the creatures that gets just a bit too close, crunching it's face in with his mighty fist. Once he notices the remaining crew get ushered onto the platform he calls out, "Is that the last of the crew?" edging towards the edge of the ship as he waits for a response from those working on the evacuation. He glances up towards Stargirl, "Once I go overboard, try to get as many over after me!" he will then say into the communicator, "Diana, Hal. I'm going overboard, I'll lead as many as I can away. I think that once the food is off the ship, they'll abandon it and leave the vessel be."

Stargirl has posed:
Stargirl nods at Aquaman's order. "I'm on it!" once he jumps she'll get to work blasting the creatures off the deck, in groups where possible. There's a group swarming over the Black Knight - they deserve her attention just as much. Golden blasts of cosmic energy blast at them as she tries to thin their attack on the valiant hero making his stand. "Hands off, scaly-butts!"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana retreives her lasso and reconnects it to her harness on her torso as she walks toward Doom when he proclaims to have finished his task.

She stands in front of the portal he opened and she stares at him. "What is 'done'?" She asks him. "What were they after?" She asked further.

Her eyes glanced over the portal and she moved to walk through it, assuming that he was indeed coming along as well. She could hear Arthur's words through the earpiece in her right ear. "Understood, Arthur. I believe their source of desire has been dealt with, or so I should hope..."

Once through the portal she'd turn to look to Doom for answers.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"It'd be an idea to just bum rush them and push them all off the ship." The BLue Lantern says. "Or simply to lift them off the ship and drop them in the water....as many as you can handle at a time." She says as she gets the last of the crew men.....and flies out of the reach of the ocean monsters.....perhaps not out of sight. When then dogpile onto the Black Knight, The BLue Lantern flies down herself and tackles a couple of them off.....picks one up and SLAMS it into the deck, then lands. "Stay down." She yells.....before she twists her body a quarter turn and seems to gather some energy that.....glows.

Suddenly she spins in the air with one foot extended and.....somehow the creatures nearby are sucked into that spinning votex....then blasted away by the force of that kick...some even fly into the ocean.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Which is a funny thing, because Doom did /not/ walk through the portal. Once Diana steps through, moving back to the main deck, Doom banishes the portal and instead walks through the door that he 'warded'. Or more particularly, the door that he removed the wards /from/. Entering the room, he glances around, then kneels down to pick up a small wooden chest, runes of arcane origin burned into the wood. "Finally. The key, and soon the gate."

Lifting the chest and holding it under one arm, he seems to smile in satisfaction underneath his armor, finding what he was truly looking for. Shutting the door behind him to maintain the illusion that it's still 'sealed', Doom then gestures, creating a portal to teleport him away from the ship.

Black Knight has posed:
Buried under the pile of scaled abominations, Dane has a moment to contemplate death. He isn't sure if anyone heard his pleas, but the sharp talons start to rend the metal of his armor with a sickening screech. He was heard, though. First a blast by Dr. Doom. While not the monarch he was calling for, he isn't about to be picky. Then Stargirl unleashes more blasts, followed by the Blue Lantern's small typhoon. Exhausted and bleeding, he uses the sword and shield to heft himself up. Despite all of his magical gear, at the end of the day, under it all, he is still very much just a man. Chest heaving as he tries to find his breath, he raises a hand in thanks to his saviors, minus Doom who is being nefarious and tricksy elsewhere. Perhaps belatedly, he calls to Arthur, "They're safe!"

Aquaman has posed:
Once Arthur hears the call that the crew are safe, his keen hearing able to pick it out over all the other noise, "I'll be back as soon as I've lost them!" He calls, then leaps overboard, diving beneath the wave, with a mob of the creatures after him, many thrown over with the help of Suzanne and Courtney. There will be a few that linger behind, but these will be easy pickings for the remaining heroes aboard the Container Ship 'Future'.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana turns to face the portal as it closes shut and she grimaces when she sees her intuition about Doom was right all along (Oh if only she'd known his name prior! Its kind of a give away!)

Diana hears the words from Arthur in her ear, she lets her eyes roam the carnage across the deck of the ship while responding. "I think I just made a new enemy." She says in response over the Justice League channel.

With that, she moves back toward the ship interior, she knew the man was likely gone... but she had to go back down to investigate what was left, at the very least.

Black Knight has posed:
Another sonic boom heralds Strider's return. The winged horse swoops down and lands before Dane, prancing and tossing its head with a snort. Dane sheathes his blade and stows the shield upon Strider before reaching out and petting the animal who gives him a critical one eyed stare. "I'm fine," he says. He laughs then and nods wearily. "Yeah, I know," he agrees before getting himself atop Strider's back. He gives his head a shake and says, "Back to the crewmembers first, Strider. Once they are safely on their way to their loved ones, we will see to our needs."

Strider launches into the air, saluting the heroes. He calls, "I will tend the crew and see them safely home. Fare thee well, heroes." With that, wings flap furiously and The Black Knight is off.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
As people begin to leave, The Blue Lantern uses her power to fly the crew members to the rest of the crew on shore....she even makes sure there is a railing so the crew members don't decide to fall over and land in the water.

Once they're safe, she flies back to find everyone departing......and she takes a good look at the ship. "Strange that they would attack this ship and none others. Mmm....wonder what makes it so special. I'm sure that.....person that could stay underwater will check it out." She then ponders a moment. "I thought I saw Diana in there. Hopefully she's okay." And she turns to fly off......
