Cast of Characters: Blink, 209, Imbroglio, Molly Millions

Blink has posed:
Time differences can make it difficult to arrange a meetup, but thankfully one of the friends Clarice was trying to get together was already on Genosha! Meaning that it was a simple case to give Dana a text in the US to arrange a little beach party!

By this point, Blink's already on the beach, wearing a simple green halter-top bikini and not a stitch else. Her long magenta hair is loose, lifting and swirling lightly in the breeze as she waits for the aforementioned time.

In the teen's ear is a small blue-tooth earbud (waterproof of course - so long as she doesn't go diving!). "I think you're really gonna like her Luce, she's really sweet. And another budding hero too!" It's the tail-end of the conversation, the mutant having explained to the blonde cyborg about inviting a girl called Dana from Gotham.

"And three, two, one..." Her wrist flicks up, an answering rent in the air springing from nothing, to reveal a single roomed apartment - the area immediately around the portal cleared by prior arrangment.

Lucy (209) has posed:
Lucy blinks just once, crystal blue eyes thoughtful as they shift to Blink's face to study the mutant's movements. She takes a slow breath and holds it for a second, her chest slowly expanding. Lucia is built like a doll; tiny, delicate and perfectly formed, with long blonde tressses and a youthful face. She's about five feet tall and dressed in a blue pleated skirt and white short-sleeved blouse.

"I'm not a hero," Th e blonde responds to Blink through the earpiece she is wearing. She doesn't move er pink lips, instead remaining largely still unless she has a specific task in mind. The economy of motion is perfect in a manner few people ever manage. "You think we will get along?"

It is hard to tell what Lucy is thinking from her placid expression and, of course, the bluetooth does not particularly emote on its own. She studies the apartment on the far side of the portalcarefully, lightily tilting her head t to the left whie she does.

Imbroglio has posed:
Unlike when Blink last saw it, Dana's apartment is remarkably clean. What she can't see from the portal is that all the junk had just been piled up behind where the portal was going to appear.

In front of the portal is Dana, looking embarrassed to be showing what skin her fairly conservative one-piece reveals. Said skin is pale, likely to burn on contact with the sun and matching her short, platinum blonde hair. Her eyes are a darker brown, though that may just be the lighting of the room. The swimsuit is in white. For Blink, who has pretty much only seen her in black, this might come as a surprise.

A few moments of preparation, and Dana hops through the portal and onto the sand, flip-flops on her feet revealed in the process.

"Um, hey," she speaks quietly, looking awkward. It must have been the lighting; her brown eyes seem a little lighter after jumping the portal.

Blink has posed:
"Hi Dana!" The mutant gives her friend a quick one-armed hug, either not-noticing or starting to get to used to the other girl's constantly shifting features. Once the hug is completed, Clarice offers Dana another of the small bluetooth eat pieces.

"This here's Lucy." She gestures to the girl in the almost school-like outfit. "She sometimes has problems talking to people, but if you pop this in it makes it much easier for her." The earbud seems brand new - but nothing particularly special.

Once she's off-loaded the electronics onto Dana, the brightly coloured Blink makes her way over to a couple of beach towels and a cooler set out for the purpose. Two large sun umbrella's cover two of the towels, whilst the third (which Blink takes herself) is open to the bright rays.

"I'm glad you could both make it!" A small bottle of sun-tan lotion is produced, and the teen starts rubbing it into her arms, the scent of coconut oil filling the surrounding air. "Oh! And Lucy, this is Dana, the girl I said about. But I'm guessing you worked that out already." As an aside to the white swimsuit clad Dana, she adds; "She's /really/ clever!"

Lucy (209) has posed:
Lucy doesn't speak immediately, her crystal gaze focusing briefly onto Dana's features. The girl's brows furrow delicately but she doesn't comment instead drawing a slow, deep breath.

After a second the earbuds both begin to make noise. "Hello, Dana," Lucy begins, briefly smoothing her skirt with her fingers. "Blink somewhat overstates matters. But it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Her voice is sweet- but rather clinical and even. Lucia doesn't really emote at all other than the slight fidgeting.

Imbroglio has posed:
The hug seems to catch Dana off guard, but she does reflexively wrap an arm around Clarice in turn, lingering just until she pulls away. A slight smile is given in turn, "Hello."

Her attention then turns to Lucy, giving her a quiet and appraising look. One that might linger uncomfortably for a moment before she realizes she has an earpiece now. After the explanation, she puts it on. Between the time Lucy looks at her and when she looks away, one could almost swear that Dana's hair is a little more 'blonde' and a little less 'platinum,' but it's impossible to tell when the change occurred, if it ever did.

The sound from her earbud earns a slightly confused expression, but there's a little nod to Lucy, "It's nice to meet you, too..."

Despite the greeting, there is some manner of anxiety about the shapeshifter. She watches Clarice wander off, and she quickly scurries along to follow.

Blink has posed:
Clarice seems unaware of all the anxiety and gently probing looks going on between the other two, or at least, seems as unphased by it going on between them, as she did when it was her in the situation.

"Come on over! Have a seat, grab a drink from the box and let's have a girly morning!" One long, toned purple leg is lifted into the air in a rather unladylike fashion - to generously coated with the coconut scented sunscreen.

"Victor came back just before the weekend, so I'm really in the need to /relax/..." Her other leg replaces the first. "So what have you two been up to? Anything good? How's that shop of yours doing Dana? I really should visit sometime..." And then, as an afterthought she holds the bottle in the air, wiggling it a little. "Could someone do my back for me?" Glowing green eyes shift from one to the other, hopeful.

Lucy (209) has posed:
Lucy's brows furrow a bit further and she pauses for a moment, those blue eyes studying Dana's features intently for long moment." She moves toward the seat she's been offered and takes a deep breath. The box of drinks is considered carefully and then Lucia reaches out and carefully selects one of them, as fif judging each on its individual merits. She doesn't open it immediately.

"I can get your back," Lucy responds then, looking up and setting the drink aside. Her eyes flicker back to Dana briefly and then she pauses for about one solid second.

Then Lucy nods once and she moves toward the mutant in question, casting about for the sun screen. Small hands reach out for the bottle so that she can begin the process of carefully and evenly applying the cream. If there is one thing Lucia can absolutely manage it's precision..

Imbroglio has posed:
There is some visible distraction from Dana, watching Clarice's application of the oil with a little less subtlety than she would have liked, had she realized she was doing it. It's enough of a distraction that she doesn't seem to answer in time before Lucy takes up the offer.

Instead, then, she sheepishly heads to the cooler to grab... really the first drink her hand hits, in contrast to Lucy's own methods, looking embarrassed with rosy-hued cheeks. She sits on the nearest towel, hugging her knees to her chest as she watches the other two silently.

"Just work. Had a cursed charm come in the other day. It's always a loss of money, but at least I kept it out of innocent hands," she explains after some few moments, averting her gaze as she does.

Blink has posed:
"Thanks Luce." Blink grins brightly at the small blonde, sitting in much the same way as Dana whilst the cyborg girl finishes the mutant's protection against the burning sun. "Wow Dana... How do you know they're cursed?" It's genuine interest, magic is something that the mutant just doesn't quite get.

"I set the umbrellas up for both of you, but if you want to sit in the sun, you're welcome to use some of my sunscreen." The bottle certainly is big enough for all three women; "That's a pretty stunning swimsuit Dana, surprised it's not black though! Where'd you get it?" That's right, she finally noticed!

Once Luce is done with her back, Clarice turns around to face the two again with a quick; "Thanks sweetie!" Before watching the two idly, waiting to see what topic comes up first...

Lucy (209) has posed:
"I do not need sun screen to avoid sun burn," Lucia responds to BLink with a thoughtful frown briefly crossing her lips. She glances down at her hands brielfy and then back to the mutant standing in front of her. She finally takes a deep breath and then moves back toward the seat in question.

"It is a noice swimsuit," Lucy offers then, retaking her drink a she claims the chair at last. She does not have a swimsuit in evidence but it could alwaysq be under the skirt and blouse. "thank you for the umbrella," the girl offers while she adjusts herself in the seat. A faint nod follows.

"Curses sound exceptionally complicated. What do you do with such items....?"

Imbroglio has posed:
"Usually it's pretty easy. There's signs. Symbols, or the way they're designed. Sometimes they just feel kind of gross, or the seller flat-out tells me," Dana explains over to Blink, looking at her again with a little smile, "Anything more complicated than that, I'm not really qualified."

She then looks down at her swimsuit, once more a little embarrassed in expression, "I... went and bought it when you mentioned the beach. I left my old one back home. I'm glad you like it." Lucy is given a small smile as well, at the thanks given.

Attention lingers on Lucy as she admits, "Mostly I keep them locked up until I can figure out a way to decurse them, or just destroy it some other way. I have some knowledge, but I'm no expert. I'm just trying to keep dangerous magic out of the hands of people who don't know better, you know?"

Those hazel - weren't they brown before? - eyes turn to the bottle, quietly pondering for a few long moments.

"I burn really easily," she admits, though the words might be true in a different sense than she implies, "Could you help me put some on, Clarice?"

Should she come over by the umbrella, what originally appeared to by the umbrella's shadow would reveal itself to be, in part, Dana's skin has turned a slightly more tanned shade.

Blink has posed:
"Sure! Just a sec..." Reaching around behind the cooler, Clarice produces a small old style looking radio. The dial is set to long wave, what with the Genoshan radio broadcasts being mostly local music and propaganda. It's only a moment's dial fiddling to get 'Hotel California' playing lightly. "Can't have a beach party without music!" The girl opines brightly.

And then it's time to start rubbing oil into Dana's back, purple hands moving in brisk circles over that subtly shifting skin. "Wow, sounds like you take a bit of a risk just handling them! Still, you're right that getting them off the street is probably good. I've heard some of them could be /really/ nasty." She pauses, flushing softly. "Well... I've /read/ that... In fantasy books." Because now and then, who doesn't like a read? Ignoring the fact there's nearly nothing else to do on the island.

"How are you settling in on Genosha Luce?" And just like that, another topic added to the mix. "I'm going to ask if Dana can move here too, she's all alone out in Gotham and that doesn't seem right." Nope, not right at all. Everyone there knows how sucky being alone can be.

Lucy (209) has posed:
"Genosha has been satisfactory. N oone has attempted to take down the silicon castle I built along the shore," Lucy observes as she finally moves to open her drink. BLue eyes are glued to Blink's features while she speasks though as befoe her lips do not move.

"No one's bothered me here so far. I do not know if that is largely becuse of how little socializing has been done thus far or if the locals are properly representative of the population. Lucia shfits her gaze to Dana and pauses for a second, tilting her head slightly to the left.

When the song reaches the bridge Lucia pause and then her eyes dart to the radio. SHe stares at it for about a second and then the songchanges. It's Ed Sheeran. "Shape of You". Then she shrugs her shoulders fainntly. "Belong alone is unnecessary.. We can keep one another company."

Imbroglio has posed:
As someone who unsettles others, it's probably strange that Dana shows mild discomfort at Lucy's talking without actually... talking. Still, it doesn't take too much of her focus. Blink's aid is doing that instead.

"It's a little risky, but how much more cursed can I really get?" she wonders, though clearly in a rhetorical fashion, "Better I take that on than someone else, right?"

There's no comment on moving. Another source of worry, for so many varied reasons. The changing music catches her off guard as well, looking to the radio in confusion. Lucy's look gets a similarly confused expression.

"Do you read, too?" she wonders, trying to engage the doll-like girl in conversation as well, "We could all talk about books some time."

Blink has posed:
It's a sunny day in Genosha. So Blink had some friends together for a little relaxed beach get-together. Right now, she's sitting on a beach towel in the sun in a green halter-neck bikini and nothing else. Dana, wearing a white one-piece swimsuit, sits in front of her currently having sunscreen rubbed over her back by the pinky-purple mutant.

The small form of Lucy can be seen sitting under one of two beach umbrellas, also on a towel, dressed herself in a white short sleeved shirt and navy blue pleated skirt. The radio plays 'Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran. Something that two of the three seem a little surprised about.

"Well yeah, I suppose it's better with someone that at least knows /something/ about what they're doing than with some idiot somewhere..." Because there's plenty of people trying to use bad things to do worse stuff. No need to help them along! That green gaze falls on Lucy next, a soft grin. "Did you bring your swimsuit Luce? I mean, it's going to be hard to get you back out in the water if you're fully clothed..." Hard, but not impossible.

Imbroglio has posed:
Dana seems content to sit on the towel, being given some attention via Blink's application of the lotion. The initial surprise having worn off, she looks away again from the radio and down to her feet. Stings the eyes less than the bright sand, it seems.

"Better me than someone else," she largely agrees to Blink. Or is it a correction?. Otherwise, there's little left to be said from her. She listens to Blink and Lucy converse for the moment instead.

Molly Millions has posed:
It's a sunny day in Genosha, but back in New York Molly had only knocked off of work approximately an hour ago. And with some wrangling had organized a 'lift' over to Genosha. She'd gone by home, and Blink's, and it's basically a matter of elimination that has her heading out to the beach. Fish belly pale arms left exposed to the sun with their circuitry tattoo's exposed, white wife-beater, and a... jumpsuit? Well, something like a jumpsuit, at least. Black with the Stark-Fujikawa logo stenciled on what can be seen of the back of it and rather more form-fitting than the older woman usually goes for, it's been peeled down to her waist with the sleeves tied up to help stop them dragging on the ground.

Somewhere along the way of her wandering she's procured a beer, which, well, at least says it was a better day than when she starts out with the rye's,"On the beach. Of course." it's for Lucy, and Blink, by way of extension, one hand raised in absent acknowledgment of the young women as she prowls over the sand unhurriedly.

Blink has posed:
As Lucy seems to enter her own little world (or more likely into the microcosm that is the nanites world), Clarice gives a little grin of understanding and neatly shifts the locus of conversation to Dana.

"So how come you're not wearing sunglasses? Or are you planning on just..." She makes a sort of 'schlorp' noise, miming glasses forming in front of her own eyes. Then she's patting the blonde's shoulder. "You're all done back here, make sure to do the rest of yourself though." And she passes the bottle forward so that Dana can do her own arms and legs.

As Molly appears, she gets a full armed wave. "Hello Molly! Come on over, the sand is fine! What /are/ you wearing?" Glowing green washes over the jumpsuit, beer and the comment with equal note. "Hey, if there's sun, sea and sand, why would you choose to be anywhere else?" The teen grins with aplomb.

Imbroglio has posed:
"I forgot how bright the beach can be," admits Dana with some measure of embarrassment, "forgot to buy some." No sunglasses appear, so she doesn't seem to be inclined to do much 'schlorping' if she even can.

The bottle is accepted with a little nod, and the young woman moves to apply it shortly thereafter. It's a bit haphazard on her part, applied quickly.

Her attention then turns to the newcomer. Initially unsure, she is relieved when Clarice greets her. Dana follows this up with a small wave of her own.

Molly Millions has posed:
"A jumpsuit." sure, it's got a fancier name... 'flame retardant race wear' or something like that, but buggered if she can remember it. Still, she stomps her way out into the sand over to the little gathering before she can be bothered pulling off her boots,"As to why... I get bored with too much time on my hands." there's a faint smile from her, eyes hidden behind silver lenses as she upnods Dana's way,"Molly." is offered in lieu of actual greeting so she can drop both boots near Lucy's 'island of solitude' and unbind the arms so she can try and slither off the jump suit unless someone stops her,"Took a mid-term gig in New York." pause,"Mostly New York. I'm supposed to fly out to Death Valley in a few days though."

Blink has posed:
"Well I can /see/ it's a jumpsuit..." Blink advises with a weary sigh. Sometimes Molly's natural paranoia makes the little conversations like pulling teeth. It's a good thing that she takes pranks so well!

But then Molly's explaining and all those thoughts make Blink flush deep purple. If it happens to co-incide with the older woman getting her kit off, well that's just timing. Really. "That's cool, what's in Death Valley? Should I be thinking of finding a good spot to watch?" And with Blink, you just know that spot is going to be some hard to reach place high up.

Dana's comment gets a grin from the young mutant as it finally sinks in, and she reaches into the bag'o'stuff that always seems to be about at a beach party, finding a cheap pair of big black sunglasses to toss towards the Lovecraftian Creation.

Imbroglio has posed:
"Dana," answers the blonde on her towel, setting aside the sunscreen after her rushed job of applying it, "Nice to meet you."

The jumpsuit coming off has her avert her gaze to Clarice. The look on the mutants face gets a curious look, but mostly she just sits quietly while the other two converse.

The sunglasses get caught, though, and there's a blink of surprise at Blink, "Oh! Thank you."

On they go without much ceremony. This alone seems to grant the woman some relief.

Molly Millions has posed:
There's a sigh from Molly as she drops the jumpsuit by Lucy's towel and collects her beer again. Yeh, it's not a swimsuit, but evidently black and lacy panties get to fulfill the role at the moment. The stretch lazy,"Fantasti-Kart." she offers off-handedly,"I've got a couple of tickets for the Stark-Fujikawa box. Thought you guys might like to go." her head cranes in the direction of Dana,"...four of them." that's apparently supposed to constitute an invite, at least on the basic assumption from the older woman that maybe it'd be of interest at least.

Blink has posed:
"Fantasti-what?" Blink's clearly heard nothing of this. But seems ready to accept the invitation. "I'd love to come! Whatever it is! I'll even pick folks up if they need it... Open a way over. Probably not into the box itself... Wait, is /Tony Stark/ going to be there?" Becuase he's pretty dreamy... And stupidly rich. Clarice tries to tell herself that that has nothing to do with the appeal... But it's got to be nice not having to worry about money.

She grins at Dana. "You did say we'd need to go out again sometime... I mean it's not training or the like, but it's still /out/ right?" Thankfully the girl is close enough still to nudge lightly. "Riiiight?" Green eyes glow all the brighter with her excitement.

Imbroglio has posed:
"What is it?" Dana wonders, looking back towards the new arrival curiously at the invitation. After Blink accepts, she adds, "I can maybe try to go, if that's okay. I just need to know when for scheduling work."

Her gaze turns to Clarice with a little smile, "Going out is nice. I'd like that. As long as it's not too, ah... intense." She nudges back a little, relaxing visibly a bit. When attention is back on her, the others might notice subtle shifts in her appearance. So subtle it's hard to tell if it was just... always that way.

Molly Millions has posed:
"Bunch of people in super-powered cars trying to dick-measure for charity." is the oh-so flattering description she offers,"That's why I've been out for a few days. They've been trying to calibrate for my reflexes." she takes a swig from her beer,"And he wasn't sure he could make it, 's why I'm driving instead." she points in the direction of the water,"So are we swimming? Or are we just trying to slow roast ourselves?" it's something Molly's likely to notice, the small shifts, but only because behind those lenses there's arguably more electronics than meat. She doesn't appear set to comment on it at the moment at least.

Blink has posed:
"Oh swimming is definitely on..." Blink answers with her Blase grin in full force. She gestures to the other girls sitting about. "I was just making sure everyone got their lotion on first, I mean, we're near the /Bahamas/, but no one thinks to put on protection."

Whether the teen intended the double entendre or not, she's already standing, reaching forward to grab her ankles in a proper acrobat's stretch. The same is true as she leans backward, continuing down until her palms are flat on the floor. Only then does she stand up, shaking her arms and legs off.

"Alright then, last one in... Is last!" And then she's taking two steps, leaping forward all set to land butt first into the sand... If it wasn't for the portal that she flicks open to pass through a second after, reappearing about ten feet above the deeper water; "CANNONBAAAAALL!" The mutant hits the water with a louds SPLA-TOOSH!" water errupting in every which way.

Imbroglio has posed:
"Oh," is Dana's response to Molly, seemingly not a car person. There's a little nod at the explanation.

Slowly, she rises as swimming seems to become an inevitability. The double entendre seems totally lost on her, though she does watch the stretching. Not doing much of anything herself in that regard.

"I wonder if I could pull off a fish..." wonders the shapeshifter to herself, though likely only Blink would know what she means. Depending on just how good the sensors are between Lucy and Molly.

She watches the mutant make her entrance into the water with a little smile. A glance to Molly follows, to see if she's heading to the water. Dana makes her way there, herself, using feet rather than fancy portals.

There's a pause at the edge of the water, stepping out of her footwear to rest her feet in the surf.

Molly Millions has posed:
There's a snort from Molly as Blink goes running off, polishing off her beer and leaning over to kiss Lucy's head briefly. She knows the littlest cyborg will snap back into the world when she's ready to. There's no running for her though, for all that she stretches out her arms with a motion of her head towards Dana at the inquiry. Out she wades without any kind of rush, laughing for Blink's cannonball with a shake of her head,"I'll... stick to the shallower water." it's the undignified doggy paddling, swimming? Not her forte.

Blink has posed:
When she surfaces, it's with a gasp. Hair flicking back in that almost iconic shampoo advert style. A pink hand slides over her face, allowing the mutant to see once again through her spray. Out in the depths, the mutant treads water. Unmindful of the sea creatures swimming about beneath her.

"Did you two say something!?" She calls back across the water before rolling onto her back, slowly pulling herself through the water with long strokes of her arms and legs. "It's so nice and warm out here..." She opines, coming in closer to where Molly paddles. Though Dana gets a look and a grin. "Come on in, the water's fine!"

Imbroglio has posed:
"I can't remember the last time I swam," Dana admits over to Molly, Blink being too far to easily converse with.

Still, the encouragement has her stepping out deeper. Eventually wading, though she sticks to where she can touch the bottom for now. Perhaps in part to keep conversational distance with Molly.

"Do you live here, too?" she wonders to the newer arrival.

Molly Millions has posed:
"Girl... if you dump me in the deep water... you get to deal with Lucy when I start swallowing water." is the caution Molly has for Blink with a wag of her finger, she remembers well enough what the purple girl can do with portals,"I don't... swim. Usually. Except.." well, here, really, because Genosha. There's a hand-waggle from the cyborg for Dana's question,"Sort of. Part-time. I work in New York. But... I watch over Lucy. So I come back and forth as frequently as time and people's willingness to transport me allow."

Blink has posed:
"No idea why you don't just ping me a text when you need something..." Blink observes as she glides past, swimming lazy figure-eights around the two women. The mutant at least seems like a water-babe... Or at least has lived on an island for most of her life.

"How can you not swim?" The look she shoots towards Molly is scandalised, it's /swimming/. One of the basic survival skills! "I can teach you if you like...?" She adds on, sounding a little sheepish at the implied judgement on her part. For a moment, she's considering Dana as her orbit takes her around the blonde girl.

"You could try a dolphin... I mean they're still mammals, so maybe it'd be easier?" Oh what tangled thought-webs we weave...

Imbroglio has posed:
The water-babe gets mos of Dana's distracted attention, even as she attempts to converse with Molly.

"I live and work in Gotham, but she was talking about letting me move here," the woman explains to Molly in turn, giving a little nod.

Clarice then gets an awkward smile, "Are there any dolphins near here? It gets... weird, if I haven't seen one in person. Seeing them on Animal Planet or something doesn't really count." Still no explanation for poor Molly.

Molly Millions has posed:
"Because you're not my personal valet, Clarice." Molly grunts, content to keep her feet on the bottom of the ocean for the moment with small paddling, as dignified as she can manage... which probably only makes her look more ridiculous,"Microparticulate matter makes most bodies of water extremely toxic where I come from." she grunts as reminder, glancing between the two as dolphins come up, at least to judge from the tilt of her head and the furrow of her brows,"I've been to Gotham a few times. Stay away from that new drug there, Blood? It's bad shit."

Blink has posed:
"I don't /do/ drugs... Drugs are bad, mm'kay." It's a reference the mutant doesn't really get, but she'd heard it said often enough at the random Universities that she'd hung around during recon missions. It seemed to fit the moment too.

"Uh, there's some dolphins further out I think, but they tend to stick to ships bow waves and the like. And I'm not sure you'll want to swim out that far anyway. What with the reef sharks and the like..." Because they have those here, oh yes.

And that brings her figure eight back around Molly, allows the mutant to hold all the conversations! At least until Lucy stops exploring the texture of sand, or the air, or whatever it was her nanites were stuck deconstructing. Whatever it was, Blink hoped it wasn't something important. "I /know/ you said that Mols..." Clarice admits with a typical teen 'put upon' tone; "But you've been here /weeks/. I'd have thought with your super speedy brain you'd be all up and down and showing /me/ up by now!" Because that's the faith the girl has in the old cyborg apparently.

Imbroglio has posed:
"I don't do drugs, either," Dana agrees with Clarice, giving a little nod, "I'm not even sure if they'd work for me..."

Her gaze follows Molly's and she notes the creatures. She squints, trying to see them better. Then she looks back to Blink with a start, "Sharks?" She takes a few steps back closer to the shore. An irrational fear, given she's declared herself unkillable in the past.

Molly Millions has posed:
"I meant Dana." Molly gestures her way,"You live here, honey, as far as I know it hasn't reached this far, yet. And I'd love to be a fly on the wall the first time the Imperator catches someone selling here." there's a grunt,"I've mostly been in New York, Clarice. Working? I'm not keen on living off other people's charity, and the kind of toys I like aren't cheap." she turns her attention towards Dana as she starts backing up, pointing out,"Clarice can have all of us back on the beach before they'd have more than a nibble. But yeh... there's a few out there."

Blink has posed:
It takes a moment for Clarice to stop giggling. Still swimming on her back for the moment she manages to get out; "/Reef/ sharks... They look fierce, but really only get interested if you've brought food..." She takes another few lazy strokes; "Or you're out in open water." A beat. "They don't come in this far, but they'll swim around the reefs quite happily. Curious little sods, but otherwise mostly harmless." Just like Earth in that book that one time.

Suddenly the girl dives under-water. Nothing to show where she's going other than the fact that she's bright pink and purple, and the water is crystal clear. Still, it's likely at least /some/ surprise when something grabs Dana's ankle!

Imbroglio has posed:
There's a distasteful wrinkle of Dana's nose at the confirmation of sharks. Her gaze lingers on the water and her feet.

"If I see one, maybe I could do shark, instead..." she murmurs mostly to herself. She then looks to Clarice and her giggling, blinking wide-eyed.

"OH MY GOD!" Dana screeches as her ankle is grabbed. Something goes very wrong, then. She almost seems to melt, briefly looking like a sack of writhing flesh and tentacles held within her skin, hair turning black. It all lasts just a moment, until she realizes it's Blink. Not a shark attack.

Molly Millions has posed:
I... oh... whoa. The thing about Molly's eyes being visible is that for better or worse it does lend her face some degree of inscrutable in terms of expression. But there's times... like... oh... about when Dana starts looking like she's melting and writching sack of tentacles where not being able to see things with your naked eyes totally bites the big one. And possibly is why she opens her mouth and then closes it and reaches up to itch her temple with a puzzled furrow of her brows that almost has her swallowing sea-water. Because her eyes say 'This is a thing that happened' and her brain says "That totally can't happen" and she's sort of left in the glitch in between running a diagnostic to make sure she didn't just experience sensor bleed.

Blink has posed:
Under the water, bubbles emerge from Blink's mouth, eyes widening in shock. Suddenly, the girl is sucked /down/ and water pulls at Dana as well, though not with nearly so much force.

The sucking stops seconds later, as Blink is tumbled unceremoniously (and with several small fish) onto the beach some metres away, coughing and spluttering. "That..." She wheezes when she can finally talk; "Is cheating."

Imbroglio has posed:
There's another waver of Dana's form as the water starts to move, but it's less blatant. She just looks confused, mostly.

"Oh god, tell me you didn't see that," she looks to Molly. It's clears he saw it. Then she follows the sounds to look for Blink. She... probably saw it, too. The shapeshifter looks mortified. She starts to wade back towards the beached Blink.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! It happens when I get spooked, I-..." she doesn't follow through on her words, just kind of standing there. Dripping wet.

Molly Millions has posed:
Molly's not as fast as the two younger women in dredging herself out of the water, in part because of the systems check, but just as much because... well, water,"Well, y'd know when it comes to cheating and water." is what the older woman has to drawl as she makes it at least to the point where she can wade,"And I'm going to chalk that up as 'no Molly, your visual cortex didn't just experience massive sensory bleed'. But if it makes you feel better... none of us are exactly normal around here." 's all good,"But I do think another beer's in order."

Blink has posed:
By the time Dana makes it up the beach to Clarice, the young mutant is already giggling. "So... That's you? Without any concentration or the like?" There's a note to her voice that Dana may not be expecting. Wonder.

"I mean... Suuure, it's not what people would call /normal/..." She getting shakily to her feet now, ringing her hair out so that a thing stream of water runs onto the sand, creating a small pile of mud. "But it's still pretty cool... I bet we could make a /fortune/ running a haunted house at Halloween..."

Molly gets a dry look. "I didn't cheat... I /helped/. By bringing the sea to you!" It's a fine distinction, and perhaps not a defensible one. But the big grin on Clarice's face is just as infectious as it always is. "And besides, I think you scared me enough with your darting about straight after... Even if Lucy hadn't slipped."

Imbroglio has posed:
"N-no, no..." Dana admits to Molly. She still looks worse than embarrassed that it was shown, "That was... just me half way to what I really look like. Happens when I get scared or angry."

Her attention turns back to Clarice, "Nooo... no. Just part way there. I don't think anyone wants to see real me. It's gross. I'm gross." There's a faint, awkward smile despite herself at the talk of Halloween.

She seems a little lost where the talk of cheating takes Molly and Blink, but she doesn't question it. Just gives a questioning look.

Molly Millions has posed:
"Y'cheated. S'okay. I would have to." Molly's not offended, bunching up her wifebeater in order to wring it out even as she gives a slow kind of smile, grunting at Dana,"This century likes to get hung up on appearances and some concept of normality that seems about as stable as a Nighttown junkie. There's plenty of things I don't even pretend that I know about this time... but even I can say with reasonable confidence that if there's one place on this mud ball where you're not going to be judged for not looking regular... it's here. I'm just... half the time not sure if I'm having a systems breakdown or it's something I just... haven't seen before. That's all. Some of my augs are older than Clarice. And while we're trying to keep them operating..." there's a glance that probably only Lucy's going to notice in her direction,"some days it's a toss up."

Blink has posed:
"You should really see Magneto about it if you can." Clarice advises Molly about her augs. "Maybe he can help you get some upgrades? Or uh... I suppose probably most of what we can do would still be a downgrade huh? Shiny and new doesn't mean better I suppose..."

But then Dana's look of query finally sinks in and the mutant explains; "The first time I brought them here, Molly wouldn't get in the water. So I uh..." She gestures, making the movement that would normally open a portal. "Moved some of it over to her." A pause and then she adds; "But Lucy panicked and went under-water, and then Molly panicked that Lucy was under water... There was a lot of panicking."

That said though, she does move back over to Dana, considers something. And then gives the girl /such/ a bear hug that if she wasn't heavier than she looked, her toes might be a few feet off the floor. "Welcome to Genosha Dana, start getting used to feeling accepted." And as if that was that, she's gesturing towards the cool box. "Drink time!"

Imbroglio has posed:
"That... kind of makes the idea of staying here a little more appealing," Dana answers back to Molly, though Blink gets a glance as well.

The blink lingers further on Blink at the talk of the mutant terrorist, at least in her own mind, but she lets that pass. "The water doesn't fry the tech stuff?" she wonders curiously.

All curiosity fades in the face of bear hugs. After a moment, she even awkwardly returns the thing. Unfortunately, Clarice would now discover that Dana weighs at least twice as much as she looks. This may or may not prevent lifting her off the ground.

Molly Millions has posed:
"I already owe the Imperator for fabricating a new lense. I try not to make a habit of owing too many debts." Molly grunts,"And I didn't panic. I was just making sure she was safe." the stiff addition, but there's a cool box, and she elects to focus on that, nonchalant about the coating of sand she's accumulating as she slogs up the beach and squats to check out what Blink's brought with her,"As I understand it, Stark's good with technology, too."

There's a shake of her head regarding the question about tech,"Most of my systems are sealed." drinks are offered out without her bothering to ask what the ladies might be interested in drinking,"Wouldn't be much point if a good rainstorm 'd make me unable to work."

Blink has posed:
Blink takes whatever drink she's given, popping it open to take a swig. Nothing in the cooler is alcoholic alas, what with her being underage in the country she visits most, and Genosha beer being worse than dirty dishwater.

"Wow... Talk about /independant/." She gives at Molly, but there's no sting in the words, just gentle ribbing between friends. Plonking herself back down on her towel, the girl goes about straightening it before laying back, propped up on her elbows. "Is that who you're mostly working for now? Stark himself? I hope he's paying you well at least?"

Dana meanwhile is waved over to her towel from earlier, the teen giving her other friend a wink. "And I am /so/ going to keep pestering you now just to see /you/." It's a promise, it's a threat, it's... Clarice being Clarice.

Imbroglio has posed:
"That makes sense! Plus you were just in the water..." admits Dana as she hears Molly's explanation. She goes back to the drink she selected earlier at random, sipping at it along with the other women.

She settles back onto her towel next, sitting on it under the umbrella in contrast to Blink's pose. She looks bashful at this, "You... really don't want to see it. I don't think you'll be able to look at me again if I show you. I don't even want to look at me."

Molly Millions has posed:
Molly flicks one of the ice-cubes Blink's way, not at all bothering to keep the gesture within human bounds of speed, without bothering to so much as look up from the cool box,"Owing people's a great way to get dead." she points out with a snort,"Mostly. And beats the chump change I was making on the short term jobs. For work I mostly could do in my sleep. It's about as close to legitimate as I'm likely to find without having a SIN for this time." she shrugs and then tilts her head Dana's way.

"You do what you're comfortable with, one way or another. I'm not going to pretend it might not take a while to get used to looking at. But I'm not going to think less of you if you're a bunch of tentacles in a skin outfit."
