Synopsis: A day in the park leads to She-Hulk meeting John Aaron and his son, Alexander.
Cast of Characters: Ares, She-Hulk

Ares has posed:
The slide always has its own unique sort of terror for children of a certain age when they're running around on the playground. For some it's so tall, a veritable skyscraper high high up above the rest of the play equipment. For others it also has the stigma of getting so darn hot with the metal catching the sunlight for so long. Then there's always the line for it that can be a source of political machinations and anarchy all rolled up into a tiny series of pint-sized packages.
It's just that sort of a situation that has brought turmoil to the central park playground. One large child has muscled his way to the front of the line and seems to be threatening the one just behind him with a most determined fist. Which has caused a series of irate comments from the kids...
    "Tommy, that's not fair!"
    "Yea!"
"Get to the back of the line!"
Then Tommy retorts, "You shut up! Or I'll punch you in the face!"
Only for suddenly a young blonde boy to step up quickly and grab Tommy's wrist and turn it back on itself, "Don't hit!" He shouts!
Only for the situation to be suddenly overshadowed. "Alexander!" The voice is sharp, short and severe. The caster of said shadow looms over the children and then he holds up a finger. The reaction from the boy is almost instantaneous.
Alexander sighs and lets go of the other kid, then sighs and looks forlorn as he must follow after John Aaron's retreating figure. He shuffles his feet consternated and grimaces as he moves after until they reach the bench seat the father had been seated at.
    "What did you do wrong?"
"I was gonna fight. But Da he was gonna hit William!"
"I know, and good of you to think about protecting him. But what were you going to do next?"
Alexander sighs, shifts his feet and looks away, then looks back. "If he didn't give up I was gonna break his elbow."
"See, that's a no." John shakes his head, "You do not hit someone unless you are danger. Though it's good to protect someone not as strong as yourself... but next time..." His lip curls and for a moment he seems to shake his head at himself, but then he adds. "Do not jump immediately to violence."
Alexander sighs and nods, "Yes, sir."
"Alright then, go and play on the monkey bars."
"Yes, sir." And as quick as that, Alexander /runs/ away heading to them.

She-Hulk has posed:
A figure approaches, jogging along one of the paths that leads to the playground. The people already on the path give her a wide berth, many turning to stare openly as she passes. That tends to happen a lot when She-Hulk is around. Something about the color green did that. Or maybe it's the fact she is singing along to the song playing in her earbuds. Not that she sings poorly but she isn't going to be quitting her day job. It certainly has nothing to do with the fact she's almost seven feet tall, a mixture of feminine curves and strong muscles.
    Definitely the green thing.
"Oooo ooo I'm a rebel just for kicks yeah, now I've been feeling it since 1966 yeah..." Her voice fades as she comes up on the playground. She tugs the purple earbuds form her ears and hooks them in the iPod holder wrapped around her upper left arm. She strolls from the path to the edge of the playground as a half dozen excited squeals come from various youngsters.
"Where's the love?" she calls out as she drops to a kneeling position on one knee, holding open her arms. Many of the children who have been here for her visits before go running to her, screaming happily as she gives each one a hug then lifts them way way up in the air and spins them around before doing the same with the next.

Ares has posed:
And, of course, Alexander is one of those kids who goes rushing on over. He's a child of his generation, he's in on things that his dad hasn't seen before. Like he can currently list the active roster of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Titans, the League... anyone and everyone with a cape he's paid attention to. He routinely surfs the superhero kids wiki that he's allowed to on his one hour a day screentime...
So he knows the Sensational She-Hulk when she comes a calling. The preponderance of Superheroes is one of the reasons he loves to come into New York and see all the people. So he's there in that small crowd of kids all hopping up and down near the Green Glamazon. "Hi hi hi!" He's shouting happily trying to get her attention.
And at this curious event, John Aaron looks over. At first he sort of looks in that direction with a curious smile and a hint of confusion in his eyes. But then he espies the emerald woman and his confusion grows. To be fair on some level he worries she might be an individual of some ill repute perhaps, a villain? Though doubtful considering how the kids are reacting. Still, best to make sure. She could very well be a super villain. It's not because she's a beautiful woman, assuredly not. Whatever the case, he rises and starts to walk across the sidewalk that circles the playground, heading in their direction.
"Ms. Walters. Ms. Walters? How strong are you! Can you life a hundred tons? Billy says you can lift a hundred tons!" Alexander beams happily even as Billy beside him nods.
"I read it on your Superpowers Trading Card, a hunnert tons!"
"Ms. Walters! Did you know my dad could beat up your cousin? It's a fact!"
Billy nods in agreement with Alexander, "He's tall!"

She-Hulk has posed:
Shulkie laughs in delight at the questions being fired her way. She picks up another of the kids, spinning them around in the air even as she is answering. "Yeah, I can actually lift a little over a hundred tons but don't go tellin'. I want to surprise the bad guys when the time comes." She returns the little girl to the ground then rubs her hands together as though looking forward to getting her hands on some villains sometime soon. Instead, she picks up the next child in the little crowd. She looks from Alexander to Billy. "
"Tall? I dunno if that's enough to beat up my cousin." She purses her lips, tapping them with a finger tip then she nods. "If you say he can, I'm sure you're right. I'll have to tell my cuz to steer clear of Central Park so he doesn't get his booty beat." Then she is spinning the little girl around in a circle as she lets out a scream of happiness to be 'flying'. When she is placed on the ground, Shulkie kneels down again.

Ares has posed:
"You hear that, Dad? She's gonna tell the Hulk to be afraid of you!" Alexander and Billy both turn to look to the side and up at the man who has stepped towards the small group of kids and their green guardian who is kneeling there with that one cute little girl who is all giggles and curls at the attention and affection from the heroic woman that's taking the time to notice her.
"I'm sure he'll be quaking in his boots, Alexander." That low voice is heard, a deep bass and resonant as he smiles sidelong to the young man. And then she may actually see him with a glance to the side.
And... to be fair, it's a glance that might have to go up... and up, for Alexander's father is indeed fairly tall. Oh not taller than her assuredly but in profile with his smile on his lips and dressed in the Sunday fare of a single father in jeans, black t-shirt, and those white sneakers... he projects the image of perhaps a retired football player or a former athlete of some sort with broad shoulders and a strong build. He's ruffling the young blonde child's hair and then he turns to her and asks, "I hope he's not troubling you, Ms. Walters?" He asks with a tone of voice that is perhaps a touch formal, and that accent... it's hard to pin down that accent. The words are precisely pronounced, and have a gravity to them.
"Though he does think the world of heroes." As he says this he'll meet her green eyes with his brown ones, the smile reaching them even as young Alexander's head is bobbing up and down in that rampant agreement of the young.

She-Hulk has posed:
The voice gets her attention first. Deep, gravelly. It just hits that note that rumbles out with such an appeal, every woman on the planet would be turning their head to see who spoke it. Her gaze finds pants, hugging to strong legs. Upward over a body that is making her think of things which have nothing to do with Sunday playground visits. Further up to a face that is ruggedly handsome, purely masculine and has the ooo-la-la going off between her ears. The kid wasn't exaggerating. He is very tall. They may be about the same height.
Giving the little girl another hug, Shulkie stands to her full height and finds herself looking right into the man's brown eyes. Very few times does that happen. It's almost always them looking up at her. That intimidates a lot of men. They like women being smaller. Daintier. Able to be picked up and thrown over a shoulder. Like her other form.
She prefers to be the one doing the shoulder tossing.
Her smile is bright and genuine. "They are never any trouble," she says, nodding to the gathered gleeful children. "This is one of the best parts of the job. Too often they get to see the aftermath of stuff we do and they don't get to see we're people behind the costumes." She's dressed casually in a pair of white shorts with a purple sports bra and white running shoes.

Ares has posed:
"Yeah! It's your jub to smash stuff, and my dad's to put it back together!" Alexander leans over and wraps an arm around his dad possessively, as if showing him off before this idol to parts of the world. Billy, to not be outdone, leans over and wraps an arm around Alexander, "And Alex is my best friend!"
    "Yeah!" Alex echoes the sentiment.
"I'm in construction," The tall man says in explanation as he looks back to her after ruffling Alexander's hair, "So he's... kinda right." A small smile is seen as he offers a hand to her, "John Aaron." Just an offering of a handshake.
And should she return the handshake, unlike most people, his grip for her is rather firm if a bit warm. Just two pumps and then done as he murmurs. "But this is a kindness, your doing this." He gestures to the ebb and surge as more and more kids start to show up and each trying to get her attention.

She-Hulk has posed:
That gets a little bit of a frown as Shulkie tries to figure it out. Not the smashing part. Alexander has that right. It's what she does without having any skill to it. She breaks things. She's been told before by Cap to not break things. Which backfired. Now she sticks to what she knows. No more fancy, no more trying to be a thinker when in a combat situation. Just point her at something and let her punch it.
"Ah!" The lightbulb goes off when he mentions construction. "Yeah, that would do it. Had a few buildings to down around us. I guess we are kind of like job security for you." She takes the offered hand, her own grip firm but not too much. None of those strong-arm games that some people play. Nor does she have that weak wristed shake a lot of women have. "Nice to meetcha, Mr. Aaron."
She has to get back to work so she picks up a young boy of about six and spins him through the air, before moving to the next. They are each given a bright smile and a moment of joy. She won't stop until they've all had a flight.

Ares has posed:
"Something like that," He steps back and folds his arms over his chest as he gives a nod to her while she hands out those frequent flier miles to the kids with each swoop and whorl around. He gives her a nod and then touches the back of Alexander's head, "Tell her thank you, Alexander."
"Thanks, Ms. Walters." He lifts a hand as he gives a nod to her, then turns away with a hand lightly guiding both Alexander and Billy, "Ok, you guys go get in some play on the pirate ship monkey bars, thirty minutes and then we're off to home. Alright?"
    "Yes, sir!"
    "Sure thing, Mr. Aaron."
The two boys rush off to head towards the aforementioned piece of equipment, their footsteps kicking up sand as they hit the sandy ground of the play area, rushing towards the tall metal and wood pirate ship structure that they start to climb all over with the energy only possessed by lil kids.
As for the father he steps away, moving back towards the bench seat he had been resting on, taking up his Sunday comics and starting to read them again after he sits down, paying half an eye of attention to the children.

She-Hulk has posed:
It's about ten minutes later when Shulkie manages to extricate herself from her admirers. Each has gotten their time, their moment. For some, this is probably the only time they will ever see a superhero in person. Hopefully that's the case unless it is in this sort of setting. She hopes they all live happy, normal lives without being scarred by the types of things she deals with as a hero. She pulls out her earbuds and is about to put them in when she spots John Aaron on the bench. She half jogs over to him, giving a bright smile.
"Mr. Aaron, sorry to bother you again. I just have a tendency to say what's on my mind so I hope you won't be offended." It's about as close as she comes to tactful as possible, at least giving him a warning about her nature. "I notice you didn't have on a wedding ring so are you single? Or got a woman? I'm guessing you've got a woman because you're hot as hell. Or a man. I don't judge."

Ares has posed:
When she draws near she'll see him looking at the newspaper, then he'll look up and his eyes will find hers as she finishes those last few steps of a jog. He straightens up, the newspaper folded and set to the other side, leaving a place free if she decided she wanted to sit. But then he gets to his feet to meet her approach, after all it's only polite. But then she starts to talk to him and he's listening politely...
And then his smile grows and he looks down, perhaps a touch of embarrassment colouring the tips of his ears, or perhaps just... surprised at the flattery.
He looks back up at her, one eye scrunched as he eyes her sidelong as if trying to make sure she's for real. But then he shakes his head and lowers his eyes again. "Umm, no I'm not married." He looks back up at her, and their eyes meet evenly. "And yes, I'm single. And I'd love an excuse to get to know you better."

She-Hulk has posed:
She lets out a low whistle, looking him over boldly. "Single. Looking like that. Doesn't make any sense. I mean even if you're an asshole, that's some Grade A Prime you got going on." She waves a hand at his body, an up and down motion to indicate all of him. "So, someone should've snatched you up just to enjoy the meal, if you get my drift." Her eyes are sparkling with good humor. She reaches into the little holder with her iPod in it. Out comes a business card. It's not for She-Hulk but instead for Jennifer Walters, Attorney at Law.
She offers the card out, holding it captured between her index and middle finger. "Don't need an excuse to get to know each other. Just gotta do it. That whole Yoda thing. Do or do not. Oh, you aren't one, are you? An asshole I mean. Cause if you are, we should just walk away now before I get an urge to punch you."

Ares has posed:
"Well," John looks at her with that small smile and she can see the subtle shift in the way he looks at her, when a guy starts to realize a girl is into him (and usually she has to be that direct about it) and they start to flirt back. It all starts in the smile and the eyes, the smile broadening, the eyes hooding. "I've always imagined that assholes aren't exactly really self-aware enough to know that they are, so you may just have to take the risk, won't you?"
But he accepts the card and withdraws his wallet, sliding it into a small leather sleeve. That's right, her card is not having any chances taken with it. He pockets it and then returns it to his back hip pocket.
He rests his hands on his hips and he then adds, "You're..." He looks to the side, then back at her. "You're okay that I have a child? Not everyone finds that easy to deal with." He says as he looks at her curiously. Oh he does have people he spends time with, flings, but few people care beyond the immediate moment or are careful not to cross that boundary.

She-Hulk has posed:
Shulkie watches as he tucks the card away intead of slipping it into his pocket. The levity of that is lost on her. "Yeah, guess we'll find out on the asshole thing. And if you are, we'll see if Alexander was right about you beig able to beat a hulk in a fight." She winks boldly as she starts to pull out her earbuds, reaching to insert them into her ears. She pauses halfway through the motion, her brow furrowed.
Why would I have a problem with you having a kid? More people have them than don't at our age. Me, I'm in the minority. Kinda don't want to pass along this gene pool." She motions at her torso. Back to that green thing again. "Besides, Alexander seems like a great kid. And wait until he gets to tell his bestie his dad went out with She-Hulk."

Ares has posed:
"Oh he's going to be..." John glances over and even then... yes the two boys are looking raptly in their direction. "There's going to be no living with him." He says as he looks back towards her, "I'll call, Ms. Walters. Take care."
That said he steps back and gives a nod, expecting her to jog on away.
