A Day at the Stadium
Date of Scene: 11 August 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Five blondes at a stadium. Snacks, kicking, crooks and incompetent guards happen.
Cast of Characters: Stargirl, Stardust, Iron Fist, Wonder Girl, Breath

Stargirl has posed:
It's a lovely summer day at the ol' soccer pitch. The Metropolis FC United team has opened up the stadium to fans and the public alike, to meet the players, look around the stadium, get their faces painted, play carnival games for tickets and merchandise... and most importantly: buy expensive snacks!

One of the people who has come out today is a perky blonde girl, dressed in red shorts and a blue Captain America star shirt. She's on the field, kicking a ball around like a lot of other people are.

Stardust has posed:
No shortage of perky blondes here today, apparently. Another stands at the edge of the field, dressed in black and purple patterned cycle gear and basketball boots, which probably aren't ideal for cycling. Or indeed kicking a soccer ball about, though she's watching those who are, and obviously tempted to join in.

Temptation is however momentarily tempered by the presence of one of the aforementioned expensive snacks. She's too busy with an overpriced hotdog for kicking things right at the moment, and her main concern is avoiding mustard stains. CHOMP chomp chomp CHOMP chomp >mustard dodge!<

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny Rand doesn't often socialize with his colleagues outside of work, but that doesn't keep them from extending invitations. Usually, he has more important things to do. Things that involving punching and kicking. But after some recent events in Hell's Kitchen, he's decided to take a breather from all that and hit up the soccer stadium with some of the guys from work.

Their bonding time lasted a whole hour before someone needed a break, and that someone was Danny. He's wandering now, alone, in possibly-expensive casual wear (beige and white linen, crisp white sneakers), eyeing the food stalls. Corn dogs? No. /Hot/ dogs? No thank you. Big salted pretzels? Score!

Wonder Girl has posed:
Make that three perky blonde girls... and counting! It's starting to become a pattern. Cassie is out to enjoy the day as well, the cheery mix of fairground and sporting atmosphere much to her liking. She probably came with a few of her new friends from school, at least those who were willing to make the trip up from New York, but really, college kids will take any excuse for a road trip and Connecticut isn't really far. So a few hop in a car and drive up, and have descended on the statdium for snacks and games to try and impress the girls and all the usual jazz. Of course, that ends with Cassie embarassing several of the guys at the 'Test Your Strength' machine. Better luck next time, boys! Though her performance (which easily makes the top score on the machine, even holding back) draws a little too much notice from the people nearby. She kind of laughs it off before trying to disappear back into the crowds.

Which brings us back around to the bunches of blondes thing. After meeting Courtney over a prior little athletic contest that got just a teeeeeny bit out of hand, the two probably exchanged numbers or facebooks or all that jazz, and it was actually from her that she first heard about the event. So at some point after her and her friends arrive, she sends the other girl a message to meet up and finally tracks her down, although she probably buzzes the food stands first, grabbing, er, well, one or two of everything, from the hot dogs to the pretzels, and passing several of the others as she does. "Hey Courtney!" she calls from the sidelines once she makes her way over.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa fumes a bit and slowly makes her way back from the spot she was in in the stands, grumping a bit. She had come to spend time with a new friend, but things were not going as planned or desired, and now she was just trying to find something to do by herself. And try to keep out of trouble. Always a good thing.

She looks around warily, looking for some kind of distraction or oher thing to visibly occupy her attention, and hoping that nobody decides to make her into the distraction. That would be noisy. And annoying.

She catches somebody accidentally with her purse, causing a small amount of commotion herself, and rolls her eyes at herself.

Stargirl has posed:
Courtney stops in mid-soccer dribble as her phone buzzes in her pocket. She pulls it out and grins. "Cool!" And there's Cassie. "Hey!" she calls back, waving. She kicks the ball toward the goal, absently. Probably a little too hard as it goes into the net and crushes itself against a back pole, deflating. "Oops. Oh, crap." she winces, but hopefully noone noticed. She goes to intercept the snack-laden Cassie. "Hi!"

Stardust has posed:
Meanwhile, back over at the edge of the field, > chomp chomp chomp BALL DODGE!< A stray kick sends one of the balls being knocked about the pitch straight at her, but her reactions are up to the challenge and she ducks in time, resuming hotdog chomping with a glint of triumph in her eyes.

Colette's triumph is short-lived. Colette forgot momentarily that balls bounce. This one does just that, bouncing right into the back of her head. She stumbles forwards, managing to avoid dropping the remains of her hotdog, but also managing to dip the tip of her nose in mustard in the process. She sighs, then attempts to lick the mustard off her nose for a moment before realizing how silly that is, and wipes it off instead.

Colette looks down at the soccer ball with a frown, then carefully holding her hotdog away from her body to avoid further mustard-related accidents, she flicks the ball up into the air with her toes, bounces it on the side of her foot, then hoofs it back in the direction it came.

Apparently she's played before as she's got a few tricks, but her passing accuracy could do with some work. Rather than reaching the group who's stray kick sent it her way, it soars waaaay over their heads and to the far side of the stadium, where it almost brains an innocent food-vendor (well as innocent as any vendor of over-priced concessions food can be). Colette watches its flight, shrugs her shoulders to herself with a little "huh," and resumes chomping.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny strolls up to the guy selling pretzels and orders one. As he's fishing money from his wallet, the ball Colette in this direction sails just past his head and toward the hot dog guy next door. There's a shout of surprise, and Danny looks around to see where the ball might have come from. There are lots of people out there, though, and plenty are playing the game with varying levels of skill. Yep, he thinks, he's surprised more people haven't been hurt already.

Turning back, he exchanges money for food, and then goes on his way. He's aimless in his wandering, not at all rushing back to the group of men he came here with. In unconsciously avoiding them, he ends up heading in the direction of the three blonds. Hey, he's a fourth!

Breath has posed:
Lyssa grinds her teeth a bit, apologizing to the belligerant guy whose girlfriend got bonked harmlessly by her purse. She gestures placatingly, looking around a bit helplessly and edging back to the stairs to flee.

. o O ( Great. Just great. At least the guy bought me food. ) She sighs a bit and gets to the walkway, then starts walking in a purposeful and brisk fashion away from the wannabe argument, slipping between random people and vendors and probably not managing to avoid drawing attention very well.

Wonder Girl has posed:
"Hey! Oh, nice kick!" Was she not supposed to call attention to it? Well, fortunately, like with her feat earlier there's enough going on that no one pays toooo much attention, and Blonde #3 just happily ambles over to meet her new friend. "Want some nachos?" Well, everything seems on offer but maybe Cassie thinks the nachos look especially appetitzing. She just sort of shakes her whole arms-full of snacks in the other girl's direction and lets her reach in for what she wants. "This is a lot of fun, thanks for telling me about it. I got some other friends around here somewhere but uh... I guess I lost them!" Shrug! "Wanna go look around some more?"

With that she'll set off wandering, fairly aimless in her progress. She continues, just chatting with Courtney about whatever, watching soccer balls sail by, all that totally NORMAL stuff, until she spots Danny angling toward the at-least pair of them. Going wide-eyed a second, she leans nearer to Courtney and wonders, "Hey, do you know who, who's that guy? He looks SUPER familiar for some reason. Is he, like, a movie star or something? I'm sure I've seen his face on TV or somewhere! And he's kinda cute."

Stargirl has posed:
Courtney tries to hug Cassie. "How've you been? Glad you could come." Her attention is taken for a moment by the sailing ball. "Wow. Hmm." her eyes widen and she follows after Cassie and points out the blonde guy in white and beige. "Oooh. Do you see that one, with the white sneakers? Cute." She laughs, though. "Oh! You saw him too. Yeah. Nice."

Stardust has posed:
Something catches Colette's eye, and she darts suddenly into the crowd, stuffing the last of her hot-dog into her mouth as she goes. There's a gravelly "Hey!" from the direction she vanished, and a sudden muttering from the crowd, which moves quickly, a circle opening up around Colette and a scruffily-dressed man, who's arm she is holding firmly by the wrist. He tries to tug his arm away, but she's holding tight. "Get off you crazy..."

"Fut up! I faw what 'oo 'ere 'oing. 'Oo 'ere twying 'o fnatch vat girlf' purfe.. wiff... exfcufe me..." Colette stops speaking, holds her finger up to indicate 'one moment', chews rapidly, and swallows. "Sorry. With this." She twists his arm sharply, revealing a small knife in his hand. There is indeed a tempting-looking purfe... sorry, purse, just ahead of where he's standing.

The man with the knife snarls at Colette. "Are you out of your ****ing mind? **** off." His eyes dart sideways, to where a security officer is peering in their direction, trying to decide if he could get away with not getting involved.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa stops at the commotion and turns on her toes to face it, and blinks at the knife. "What? Seriously?" She swings the purse back behind her shoulder and looks the guy over. "Okay, so done with today. Uhm, thank you.." She chews her lip and looks around awkwardly, glancing up at the security guy for a moment and pondering if she passes enough for the guard to care. She edges back a step just in case.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie manages the hugging as best she can with ARMS FULL OF SNACKS. But she still really gives it her all, yes she does! "Um, you want to take some of these?" she wonders with a sheepish grin in the midst of all of it. As for their peering and gossiping, she nods back at the other young woman but... it's clear that she's more than scoping out a pretty dude in the crowd. Clearly, the familiarity bothers her, in that usual 'tip of the tongue' kind of way. So close to getting it, but so far! "Argh. I wish I could remember where I saw him. Or what it was for. I'm sure it was on TV, but might have been on some magazines too or something. He MUST be some actor or something." Because prettyboy youngsters aren't normally CEOs. You know, except all the ones that probably are in this world. BUT NEVERMIND.

So this nagging feeling just keeps with her. "C'mon. We're gonna... I dunno." Follow him? Stalk him?! Or just say hello? Either way she starts in that direction, although there's crowds to navigate and... then suddenly there's some commotion a little ways over and she looks that way. "Huh, is there some trouble over there?" Sadly her SUPERHEROING oaths make potential evildoers a higher priority than cute boys. "We should check it out, go make sure everything's OK..." But as usual, crowds.

Stargirl has posed:
"I don't know. Maybe he's Bruce Wayne?" Courtney suggests. She relieves Cassie of some of her delicious burden. "Thanks." She follows after the other blonde chasing down the cute guy. "Uh, yeah." she hears the kerfuffle too. "I'm ready, sure."

Stardust has posed:
Colette nods her head towards Lyssa. "Don't worry, Mi... uh... it's okay now, I'm sure he's not going to cause any more trouble now..." She flashes a smile. "Your purse is safe from this guy..."

Colette might have been correct in her assessment, but we'll never find out because the purse-snatcher has a buddy with him, who does still have trouble in mind. The second man demonstrates this by grabbing Colette around the neck and trying to drag her to the ground. Although she's yanked backwards, she keeps crouches to lower her center of gravity, and stays on her feet. Her grip on the first man doesn't slacken, and he gives a sudden yelp of pain as she squeezes and >twists<, tugging him back with her.

Colette twists her head to look at the second man, and sighs dramatically. "Really?" she asks, with surprisingly little concern at her predicament. "What is it with you lot, always grabbing at people's necks?"

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny is oblivious to the gossiping, having gotten used to people picking him out of a crowd now and again. It's happened less and less over the weeks and months after his miraculously coming 'back from the dead,' but every now and then he gets someone wanting a selfie with him.

He munches on his pretzel, eyes a few of the people around him, smiles at those who catch his eye, and then spots the trouble Colette seems to be in. After a quick look around for security, he heads over and shouts a "Hey!" to the guy has her by her neck.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa shrieks briefly and puts her hands up at the surprise of the new development, then feels.. a little bit awkward as it doesn't seem like this is even unexpected. She looks around in slight confusion, not quite sure what the socially acceptable thing to do in such a situation is.

She coughs a bit uncomfortably. "Are you people stupid or something? Does attacking the girl that just caught your friend ever work? Uhhh, Do you want a hand or something..?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
"No, that guy's like, way old, isn't he?" Cassie answers her friend, before marching off to deal with whatever is going on. Though as much as flying over the crowd would be the easy solution, this is supposed to be a -Cassie- day, and with her friends and others around, that means a minimum of crazy stunts. So instead, the young woman pushes her way through the crowd as best she can, or as best as she's willing, again, low-profile in mind! She's only just about made it through, spotting what's going on and calling out "Hey!" when...

Erm, is there an echo in here? She's pretty sure she sound like that!

So the girl looks sideways toward the other voice, and realizes that cute-famous-dude seemingly has the same idea, having made his own way over as well. She furrows her brow a little, but still turns her attention on the spectacle, starting to march out to join the kerfuffle.

Stargirl has posed:
Courtney is a little shorter than Cassie. "What's...? I can't see!" Still, she pushes through too, ending up at the edge of the circle that's no doubt cleared around the potential combatants. "Ooh, there he is." maybe that was a little too loud. Still, there IS trouble. "Yeah! Hey! Let her go!"

Stardust has posed:
Colette raises her spare hand to Lyssa, and replies "No, I got this. Stay back, don't want you to get hurt." The guy behind her continues to try to pull her backwards, but she's got her feet dug in now and isn't moving. However she's obviously not quite sure just *how* she's got this, and a look mixed between confusion and concentration passes across her face. While she's thinking, she gives an extra twist to the arm she's holding, forcing the first man to yell and drop to his knees, her hand clamping tight to stop him from dropping the knife.

Finally deciding that he has to do at least something, the security man starts talking into his radio to call for help. Obviously this is way above his pay grade. However, the arrival of Cassie, Courtney and Danny all apparently eager to join in with their triple-chorus of "Hey!" is a more immediate threat.

The man behind Colette looks at the three of them with the air of a man who suddenly feels very much not in control of the situation. He loosens his grip on Colette's neck as he considers fleeing. "Back off or I'll... OW!" The 'ow' is the result of Colette finally deciding what to do, and jamming her head backwards into his nose. He promptly lets her go and staggers back a couple of steps. His hand goes up to his nose, and comes back down bloody.

"Yeah! Why didn't I think of that last time?" Colette states with a broad grin. Unseen by her, the man with the bloody nose twists his face into an expression of rage, and reaches for something tucked under his shirt in the back of his jeans...

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny watches the scene carefully, both out of concern for Colette's safety, but also to guage the kinds of fighters everyone might be. He seems to come to the conclusion that the men, at least, aren't much in that department, so when as he continues to approach, it's in a much more casual manner than he might typically adopt. Still, he's on guard.

Then the man in question goes for what's probably a weapon, and Danny acts. He would hate for the man to get hold of a knife or a gun and embarass himself by using it improperly. Lightning-fast, Danny drops his pretzel to grab the man's arm and shoulder, giving it just the right twist needed to nearly force a dislocation. "Don't even think about it."

Breath has posed:
Lyssa isn't actually aware of anybody coming, and reaching into clothes is pretty much universally bad, and she isn't exactly bulletproof.

So she hocks up a wad of spit.. or at least makes the noise for it.. and spits it straight at the thug's face, loudly. And hopes nobody else really notices that the noisy spitty coughing bit involved a brief puff of air at well over a hundred miles an hour, which should be distracting and blinding at least. Might take him off his feet, too. If her mouth wasn't dry, the actual spit would be too, and that's a little bit more... believable, anyways.

Of course, then someone else steps into the general area of the line of fire, and Lyssa immediately winces and awaits the results of the Cosmic Fumbles Chart...

Wonder Girl has posed:
Because it's supposed to be 'Cassie's Fun Day Off At the Fair, Where I Don't Have to Save the World or Fight Weird Clone Doomsday or Anything Like That (tm)', the young woman is a little less with the boldly charging in than usual. Although it might well also be because it seems like the pair of thugs are already somewhat outnumbered, and more under control than not. So while she's be willing to break her little holiday to save someone from danger, when they seem very capable of saving themselves, it's something of a different matter!

Still, she does continue over toward the commotion, sort of keeping pace with casual-speed Danny, while also looking over and spotting the security-dude. "Do they even give you guys like, tasers or anything?" She kinda has a fondness for zapping people. "Or at least handcuffs? Sheesh." Moving in, it's almost more to put herself inbetween the guy who stumbled away and Colette, arms crossed defiantly over her chest.

Stargirl has posed:
Courtney cocks her fists, ready to dance, but Colette and Danny seem to have the men pretty much under control. "Wow. Didja see THAT?" Courtney asks Cassie. "that HADta hurt." but she's grinning. "Maybe he's a famous martial artist or something?" She looks to Lyssa. "Are you alright? Sorry for the trouble."

Stardust has posed:
Use a weapon improperly? With these two, there's not that much chance of that NOT happening. Nobody with any brains would be going for a gun in this situation anyway. As the fool pulls out his handgun to... well, he hasn't thought that far yet, Danny's armlock takes away any real choice in the matter. He howls and tries to pull away, but immediately yelps in pain and tries instead to twist himself around and escape the grip. Against Danny? He has no chance.

The security guard that Cassie snarked has the decency to look embarrassed and makes a show of tugging a taser out of it's holster, but he's still waiting for reinforcements, the coward!

Alerted by the yelp, Colette turns to see what's happening there. This elicits a matching yelp from the guy who's arm she's holding, which twists rather further in the process. She blinks at Cassie, then cranes her head slightly to the side to take Danny in, and grins at him. "Hey! We got matching arms." She yanks her guy upwards by the arm to demonstrate. "Yours is even uglier though. So uh, what do we do with the..."

At this point, Lyssa's spit wad, accelerated to unnatural speeds, whizzes right past Courtney's face with a surprising accompanying breeze, and smacks straight into the face of the guy Dany is holding. The man reacts almost as if he's been punched, staggering backwards into Danny. There's a loud >BANG< as the gun he's holding goes off, a panicked shot but with his arm held, the bullet fires harmlessly into the ground.

At the sound of gunfire, there are screams from the watching crowd, and people beat a hasty retreat. The security guards finally realize they actually have to do something, and rush onto the scene, tasers waving. "HANDS UP!" the lead security offers yells. Colette yanks her guy up further, bringing another scream from him. "This guy already has is hand up! Look!"

Breath has posed:
Lyssa grinds her teeth and squints at the really loud noise. "Ow, ears.." She suddenly becomes aware of the girl coming up next to her who isn't looking or acting like a thug or a bystander.

"Uhh! Hi!" She glances up at security and makes a little bit of a face. "Can we, um...?" She holds up a closed hand and gestures away from the thugs (and security) with her thumb, edging a but further away from the mayhem and any contributions she may have made to it, and looks around for a quick escape from the immediate vicinity at least.

Wonder Girl has posed:
With all that the guys are getting jerked around, Cassie doesn't seem like she needs to do much of anything, really. Which is good! This is still supposed to be her day off! That said, she remains between the one that Danny has and Colette, though the phrase 'that Danny has' does sort of indicate that the dude isn't all too likely to be a threat... until he gets plunked by something in the face. There's a quick flicker of the girl's eyes here, her vision accute enough to track even something moving that fast, and backwards along its trajectory toward the source - Lyssa. She'll have a quizical expression, or at least the start of one since it all happens pretty fast, though her eyes flicker back toward the hand with the gun as he staggers. In that moment, she's angry for her civilian attire, lacking her favorite mentor-inspired bullet-deflecting accessories, but she still starts to move, not taking *any* chances on someone getting shot, even if it means just a moment of, well, something obviously not normal.

Basically, one second she's still by Colette, and the next she's quite a lot nearer to the man, having been ready to throw herself in the way if she'd needed. Though as those fractions of seconds pass she sees the gun angle downward and slows almost as quickly, so the motion is very brief. But still. Also, it's now officially pandemonium, with the rentacops shouting. "Oh I swear, if any of you idiots tase me you are SO going to regret it. Can you get this moron in custody?" She'll join Danny in holding him, grabbing his free arm with a NOT SO NICE grip. "See? He's not going anywhere. Just come and arrest him!"

Stardust has posed:
One of the guards raises a taser to point it at Cassie, but her warning seems to filter through to some animal part of his brain that hints to him that he might just be getting himself into a world of trouble, and his hands drop slowly back down again. He stares at her, mouth open.

Cassie's added grip on the gunman is too much for him, and he sensible drops the gun to the ground, and deflates with a sob as he sees no way out of this. The crowd surge back, eager to be part of the resolution of this, and fingers point and voices call out. "It was those two!" "They attacked that girl!" "He was trying to steal her purse!" The fingers are clear who the attacker was, but seem confused on who the victim is, pointing at all the assembled blondes in the blonde squad. Apart from Danny, that is, who even the confused mob is able to tell isn't a woman.

"Okay," says the lead security man, "Just uh let go of them and we'll take it from here. Which one of you is the victim? We'll need to you stay too."

Colette catches Lyssa's eye as Lyssa backs away carefully into the anonymity of the crowd. She opens her mouth, pauses a moment, then says "Uh... I'm not sure, I think she ran," to the security chief. She raises her guy's hand again, showing the knife in it, and says "This one had a knife." He doesn't resist the pulling about, his eyes firmly fixed on Courtney's cocked fist. He is not having a good day, and he clearly has the feeling that fist could make it even worse.

Colette gives his wrist one more sharp twist, making him drop the knife, and shoves him face-first to the ground at the security chief's feet. "It's okay, I think he panicked and decided not to stab anyone or something. Lucky you guys got here in time," she adds, rather freely reinterpreting events.

Breath has posed:
Lyssa melts into the crowd, at least as well as somebody who is at the moment uncomfortably aware they look like a guy in a skirt can, and puts some bystanders between her and the guards. It wouldn't do to have a repeat of the lasagna incident, after all... She's sure the people who were actually DOING things can find her once they get this mess sorted out.

Wonder Girl has posed:
"Oh yeah, our heroes." Cassie is not above a little sarcasm in her celebration of their rental 'saviors.' But at least none of them made the foolish decision of trying to taser a girl who oaccasionally unloads Zeus' lightning on people, so she'll take that as a win. Other than that, she adds in the general uncertain shrugging over who did what exactly, giving a vague shrug after giving the man she's holding a good, slightly harder than is strictly necessary shove over toward the authorities, at least once Danny has made sure he's relieved of the gun. "One had a knife and the other had a gun," she points out, gesturing to the evidence-on-hand, "think you've got plenty the real police can charge them with."

With that said and the man turned over, she cocks a quick, querrying look at Danny while near him, STILL trying to place him, then shrugs and goes over to check on Colette and locate Courtney again, "Hey, you both alright?"

Stargirl has posed:
"Yeah, fine." Courtney replies to Cassie's call. "I didn't even drop the nachos, though they're a little cold now." she says sadly. "But everyone looks okay. Good enough, anyway. Gold stars for everyone!"

Stardust has posed:
The guards take the two men, now both thoroughly beaten, into custody. They can just about manage that. Giving security teams everywhere a bad name, they go about this in a confused and mob-handed manner that leaves plenty of time for everyone else to get lost in the crowd, and avoid any awkward questioning.

Colette turns to Courtney with a nod, a hop, and a broad grin, looking more like she's just been relaxing and having fun rather than in a fight. "Thanks for the help," she says. "Hey I saw you playing earlier. You got some mad skills." Cassie is greeted with an equally broad grin and a thumbs up. "You too. And yeah, fine. Neither of them touched me." She must have forgotten being grabbed around the neck already. "Where's the... other one?" She cranes around, peering into the crowd for Lyssa. "Is she okay too? Hey. Blonde power, right?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
"Oh, the snacks..." Cassie had probably forgotten them at some point, maybe right around where she went into *zoom* anti bullet mode and they needed to be sacrificed for the greater good. "Ah well, coulda been worse with those geniuses deciding to pull that crap in the middle of a crowd." She'll nab a semi-cold nacho from what Courtney still has, anyway, giving it a crunch and then grinning at Colette. "Thanks. I mean, I didn't really do anything, that guy..." And she looks around to see where Danny has gone, although somehow he's gotten lost in the crowd as well. Maybe he's actually giving them a statement, since he did end up dealing with the gun.

When the final missing person is brought up, she shakes her head. "I don't know where she went, either. Maybe she didn't want the hassle? Anyway, let's jet too, maybe we can still get some fun in. Wanna tag along? I'm Cassie."
