Study Time

Location:	Library - Xavier's School
Synopsis:	Wednesday is studying in the library and Doug comes in. She works up the nerve to ask him out to only discover he is interested in someone else.

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday had a pile of books sitting around her that were open to various pages as she was taking notes in her binder. Her eyes studying over the pages. Upon her form is a light blue fishnet shirt with a black spaghetti strapped shirt under that and a black layered skirt with high heeled mary janes.

Cypher has posed:
Doug enters the library, a book tucked under one arm -- it's a novelization of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in Mandarin. He puts it back on the shelf, and goes browsing for another, before he frowns. "I've read a lot of the stuff in here already." Then he shrugs, and pulls a couple of old favorites off the shelves.

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday looks up as she hears Doug and blushes softly as she watches him for a moment. She glances to her notes and decides to slip away and walks towards Doug. She taps him on the shoulder when she is close enough and says "Hey Doug, how are you?"

Cypher has posed:
Doug tilts his head, and offers a little smile. "Hello, Wednesday." He sets his books down on the table. "I'm well. Just taking a break. I finished up my GED work and now I'm enjoying the lull before my classes start. I'm getting caught up on some reading." He shrugs his shoulders, "Anticipating adventure. Yourself?"

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday relaxes a bit and smiles back to Doug as she says "That is pretty cool. I was working on a paper but it isn't due for like two weeks. So I am taking a break. I am excited about adventures too. I just need to get stronger with my abilities is all." She glances to the book and asks "What is that about?" Her eyes focusing back on his as a hinted blush crosses her cheeks once more.

Cypher has posed:
"What is your power?" Doug says, before he looks down. "Oh, this is a copy of the Three Musketeers, in French. Dumas is one of my favorite writers. He understood that every good tale about morality and humanity should also be an adventure." Then he tilts his head. He looks up, and then asks what might be a leading question. "Are you okay?"

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday smiles happily as she says "I haven't read that in a while. One of my favorites. I can speak and read a few languages myself. Oh um right you asked about my powers. Well, I seel ghosts and mostly I'm a psychic. I can read minds but it is usually just surface thoughts and emotions but people know when I do it so I don't do it often. Then I can do illusions, move things with my mind, shield myself and others and I can phase through walls. What about yours?" She then blushes more as he asks if she is ok and begins to say "Yes I... I am fine... just a bit nervous about something is all."

Cypher has posed:
Doug says, "I'm a Omnilinguist, or a Hyperlinguist. I read, interpret, and respond to information of all types." He shrugs. "It used to be just languages, so that's how I thinl of it, but it's expanded considerably, and I'm still learning about its limits." He tilts his head, and says, "Nervous? About what?"

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday whistfully sighs as he mentions being a Hyperlinguist and comments "That is extremely impressive Doug." She shyly looks away as he asks what she is nervous about and begins to fidget with her hands. As she looks back she admits "Well... there is something I was um... wanting to ask you."

Cypher has posed:
"I see." Doug says. The tone implies he was already aware, to some extent, but that he doesn't want to fill in the lines. He sits on the edge of the table, and says, "Well, I'm listening if you'd like to tell me. If not, that's okay too."

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday bites on her bottom lip for a moment before she says "Alright. I was well... I was wondering Doug. Would you be willing to go on a date with me something?" She shifts on her feet as looks at him waiting for the response, leaning again against the opposite table as she continues to look up at him.

Cypher has posed:
Doug rests his elbows on his knees, and the corner of his mouth turns up. "You know," He says, "I used to flirt with all the girls, and never got anywhere. When I was standing next to Sam Guthrie, and Bobby da Costa -- you've never met Bobby, but he's the Brazilian kid, good looking as sin in all the photos with us -- nobody ever noticed me." He laughs, lightly. "It's *weird*." Then he tilts his head at Wednesday, and sighs. "I have to tell you the truth, Wednesday -- there's another girl I'm interested in, and honestly... I'm still working out a lot of things in my head. I was -- ill -- for a very long time."

"So that said, would you still like to go out? I can't promise you a great romance, but I could show you a fun night out."

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday shrugs and says "I guess it's weird." Her smile falters a little as he begins to talk about being into another girl already and looks down as she asks "Is it who Boom Boom teased you about being your girlfriend?" She looks back up and says "I... I guess just... never been on a date before or well... a lot of things so like... sure I guess. I was going to suggest an escape room or a murder mystery thingy. But like..." SHe pauses and chews on her bottom lip before she asks "Does the other girl like you back?"

Cypher has posed:
"Well that's just it," Doug says, "Maybe? But I just met her too." He shrugs his shoulders, and then says, "I think I've hurt your feelings." He starts to get up from the table, "I'm really sorry." He sighs, and says, "I don't know... I'm not like Sam. I fall in love easy but at the same time I guess--" He says, "I don't know." He sighs, and rubs his temple with two fingers, "See, I'm supposed to be the master of languahe, and I'm bombing this."

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday shrugs a bit and looks back towards the book as she says "I... I rather not try to fight to win your heart. Just... nevermind ok? I... I should go. Good luck with your crush." A weak smile is given before she begins to walk back towards her books, using her powers to close some of her books and stack them up.

Cypher has posed:
Doug pinches the bridge of his nose, and then he exhales, slowly. Finally, he just says, "I'm... really sorry. I hope I can make it up to you." He gets up, and moves to beat a hasty retreat out of the library. He forgot his books.

Oddity has posed:
Wednesday shrugs again and says "Not sure how Doug. See you around maybe." ANd she gathers up her things and flees the library herself.
