Moonstar has posed:
Dani got in a bit late last night... or early in the morning. Either way. But then again, it's not like there was any classes for a week or so yet. Currently, the girl is cooking a few eggs and bacon in the skillet, whistling to herself as she fries things up to be nice and crisp, the eggs looking a touch over easy. Currently she's wearing a pink silk blouse and denim jeans, keeping it fairly simple as her hair is done up in her normal braids.

Deadzone has posed:
It takes a lot of effort in the mornings to look like Tatum does. The hair, the make-up, the clothes. Pulling off a goth look, whether its gothabilly, sexy goth, professional goth... whatever her flavour of the day is, it takes work. So that means she tends to be up early. Today is no different. Already up and about, Tatum comes into the kitchen to get her breakfast of coffee, banana and pastry. Her make-up isn't done yet, so the home ec teacher looks a little washed out. It seems Steampunk Goth is today's choice of garb.
Seeing someone else in the kitchen, Ms. O'Neal smiles over to Dani. "Good morning, Dani. Planning anything interesting today?"

Moonstar has posed:
Dani smiles, looking rather cheerful indeed as she says, "Oh no, well, nothing too exceptional. Breakfast, taking Brightwind out for a ride, then probably making sure everything is ready for classes to start." She chuckles a bit, "Oh, and probably talking to Tabitha at some point. Think she wanted to talk to me about something." A bit of a shrug at that, "So how'd the house hunting end up going, Ms. O'Neal?"

Deadzone has posed:
Chuckling, Tatum shakes her head. "Isn't that supposed to be our job? Making sure you students are ready for classes? Thank you for taking a leadership role to the younger students." She pours her coffee and then looks for her cinnamon bun coffee cream. When she finds it, nearly empty, Tatum gets a glowering look on her face. "I'll find you, coffee cream thief. And then you're in trouble," she mutters under her breath.
The question about the house hunting causes the young teacher to sigh softly. "It's going slowly. Between his needs and mine, finding a house that fits all our criteria isn't easy. Sadly, the one house that was perfect was right next door to some Humans First folks."

Moonstar has posed:
Dani makes a face at that, "Some stuff never changes." She sighs and shakes her head, taking the skillet off the active burner, then using a spatula to slide the eggs and bacon onto her plate, "I wonder how those people would feel about some fertilizer from Brightwind. Death from above?" She gets a bit of an impish look as she glances over at Tatum, "But I'm sure you guys will find a place."

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum chuckles softly at the thought of Brightwind fertilizer. "Don't waste good fertilizer on them," she says with a smirk. She nibbles at the strudel on her plate, leaning on the kitchen island. "I feel sorry for them more then anything. I used to have that much hate too. It eats you up inside, makes you a bitter, angry person that can't find joy in anything. If they didn't hate mutants, they would find something else to hate." She nods her head when Dani says that she and Dr. McCoy will find a place. "I know we will. It just takes patience. We'll find the perfect house, one that fits all our criteria. It doesn't even need to have a library already, just a good room to put one. It's things like the acoustics and the space and a decent sized kitchen that's important. The library and lab, those can be built afterwards

Moonstar has posed:
Dani tilts her head, "Okay, this might be a weird idea, but have you guys... have you thought about just finding a nice plot and then building a house /on/ it?" She grins, "I mean, I don't know much about Salem Center zoning, but back in Colorado people did that all the time. And that way you can be sure to get what you need. It isn't like there's a whole bunch of us that'd chip in to help with elbow grease, right?"

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum blinks, having clearly not thought of that idea before. "Build our own place..." she says thoughtfully. "It means a lot longer wait before we can move in, but it's not like we're in a rush." She lets out a chirpy noise, one that seems to say 'Well, imagine that!' "I'll talk to Hank about that tonight. THank you for the idea, Dani."

Moonstar has posed:
Dani grins, "Hey, life's too short to hold a grudge. Though, your boyfriend needs to learn when to not put his fuzzy foot in his mouth." She chuckles a bit, having cooled off a bit, "I know he meant well, but..." She shrugs a little, taking a seat at the kitchen table with a glass of OJ.

Deadzone has posed:
Tatum got to hear about the fiasco from Hank's point of view. She smirks as Dani tells her that the blue, furry multiple doctorated oaf got his foot in his mouth. "It comes from him being so flexible," she tells Dani, clearly well aware of her lover's tendency to sometimes get under ones skin with his way of going on and showing off his vast knowledge. "Since he can get his feet in there so easily, he needs to do it on a regular basis to maintain flexibility." She winks to the student, showing that she is not offended.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani laughs at that, "Good point. But he's on deviled egg restriction until I decide otherwise." She winks at Tatum, the girl infamous at the school for her deviled egg recipe... almost as much as the fact, yeah, she's a Valkyrie with a winged stallion in the stables. "But yeah, I was just in town last night visiting my... ah..." She then blushes, a bright red, then grins, "So er, yeah. Um, I think building from scratch would be perfect for you guys."

Deadzone has posed:
Telling the home ec teacher that someone is not getting something foodwise causes a chuckle. "You know that means he's just going to ask me to make them, right?" She spoils the good doctor and she knows it. Even makes him homemade Twinkies. Seeing the blush, Tatum's grin grows. "Oh? Visiting your person of interest? Do we know this person, or do we have to start spying on you to find out about this person?" Her tone is light and playful, like an older sister teasing. Really, for a teacher, she is far too casual and friendly. "I think you might be right. Though I admit that I don't know if I have the patience enough for it. I want to ... have my own kitchen now."

Moonstar has posed:
Dani grins, "Well, um, yeah, I have been. She's very nice, though I don't think you've met her. Maybe you have." She still looks rather bright red, "I mean, she lives in New York, so I try to get to see her when I can." She hmms a little, "And well, you don't have my recipe for deviled eggs. I got that from my grandfather." Her lips quirk in a grin, "No one's getting that recipe from me." And thanks to her mental training, she even keeps it secret from telepaths. Not that Jean or Charles would stoop to that level of prying...

Or... WOULD THEY? *DUN DUN DUN*

Deadzone has posed:
Could the home ec teacher figure out the secret ingredient? That might be a fun test. Or not. Certainly the telepaths have better things to do with their powers then get deviled egg recipes. Mind you, even Tatum has heard that Dani's are particularily good. "Don't worry, Dani, I don't want your recipe. Family secrets are important. It creates a feeling of tradition and nostalgia." FInishing her breakfast, Tate washes off her dishes and puts them in the drying rack

Moonstar has posed:
Dani grins, "Well, yes, so I might see how busy things are this afternoon. Or possibly bribe Illyana with a shopping trip so we can 'port down together." She chuckles, "It's a bit nice to get down there and get away from the zaniness of the school from time to time, though."

Deadzone has posed:
Snorting softly, Tatum smirks at the mention of Illyana. "She doesn't actually need to shop. She can just magick up whatever she wants. I think she just likes to shop because it's social time." She pauses for a moment, pursing her lips. "Mind you, this Illyana might be different. I get confused sometimes, knowing what is different from my world to this one."

Moonstar has posed:
Dani chuckles, "True, but still... sometimes her moods get a bit mercurial." She hmms, "I mean, I can take Brightwind, but the pavement is hard on his hooves." Her lips quirk in a wry grin, "Yeah, I can see where that's confusing though. People being different than what you're used to."
