Cast of Characters: Renee Montoya, Batwoman

Renee Montoya has posed:
Renee had been studying footage, ever since their date. Ever since the two of them had won the 'Puzzle House' solution that Kate had taken them to, and together, the two women had solved the particular trickery of the event far, far ahead of the nearest competition something had been inkling her. She had been studying footage from various police, and media films on events. She had been considering different events in her mind, when it had clicked.
It had clicked when she was cleaning off her couch, and had found a few of Kate's red hairs, against her black leather jacket. Black on red.
And, it'd taken her a day or two after that revelation - that suspicion, so strong that she couldn't shake it to take her to Kate's door. She'd never actually -been inside- Kate's house. So this would be two firsts.
And. She rings the bell. Not having called. Not having texted. Hello! Surprise visit!

Batwoman has posed:
Kate answers the door wearing a rather skimpy dress. Her blue eyes widen when she sees Renee and the pauses for a second, looking the woman over from head to toe. For a second Kate worries her bottom lip with her teeth and then she flashes Renee a smile. "Well. Come in." the redhead begins, though for some reason there's a sheepish expression on her features. "Would you like something to drink?" She asks as she turns away.
When one says 'skimpy' in this case they mean nearly nonexistent. Kate must be awfully friendly with whomever she was going to wear that dress with. It's barely street legal, unless she bends over.

Renee Montoya has posed:
Renee shakes her head, asking, "Not - interrupting anything, am I?" She looks non-pulssed, or tries to. Renee has a pretty damn good poker face. She knows she and Kate aren't exclusive, given her schedule she's not asked that of Kate yet. And, of course, everyone knows her reputation as a party girl. It's not something Renee's worried about, too much. "I can come back later." Her hands are shoved into her leather coat, then, the badge showing briefly as it's nestled onto her belt, slightly hidden.

Batwoman has posed:
"No. I just got home actually," Kate replies, shaking her head. "Meredith had to back to work and get a couple things done. She's a- mmm. CHemist," Kate continues, blinking. She tilts her head slightly to the left and then takes a deep breath. "Ah. So! Right. Juice? Or... SOmething?" She shiftsh er weight form left to right. "It' actually really nice to see you... Come on in." She gestures for the other woman to join her, turning slightly to glance through the enormous house. "We're all alone this time around."

Renee Montoya has posed:
"Water, I guess," Renee says, absently. Whatever thoughts of how she thinks Kate looks in that dress remain hidden in her expression, but, even if she isn't showing it, she's most certainly having thoughts. She takes a few further steps inside, "Wow. Space. That -- must be nice," she half-jokes. Space, Kate knows, is not something Renee has in spades at her small, but very comfy and functional, apartment.

Batwoman has posed:
"It has its moments" Kate repliesi n a voice that is almost sly. She walks away with confidence, hips swaying slightly as she goes. "Water, then. Ice?" Kate retireves the drink and returnsi n moments, blue eyes thoughtful as they study the features of the woman i nfrotnt of her .She takes a deep breath. "So bwht brought you all this way? You're welcome, you just hadn't seemed interested in vistiing me at home before." The question is asked without any accusation whatsoever. The initial surprise aside Kate seem comfortable with the situation.

Renee Montoya has posed:
"Work," answers Renee, and it's at least a partially honest answer, "Now I'm starting to regret that, though. Damn." She looks around, thoughtfully, appreciatively, before she looks back to Kate. "Well. Figure it wasn't too fair for me to sit on it. Best to get it out in the open, isn't it?"
Renee's -usually- good at being blunt. At, simply saying what's on her mind. It's different when that person is someone as attractive as Kate, who you've kissed. Or more.
"It's been bugging me. So I was left, asking myself, how is a woman like Kate Kane so damn good at solving the riddles of this house? What sort of training did she get in the armed forces? Did she pick this just for me, or was it something she got a thrill out of too? ...," she gestures, "I could go on." Yeah. She asked herself Questions. She's been hanging around Vic Sage a bit. Or, rather, he's been hanging out around her. She doesn't mention that bit.
"Dawned on me this morning. Found a couple of your hairs on the jacket I wore that night. This jacket." The black jacket. "All came together. You're Batwoman."
It's not a question. There isn't a doubt in Renee's mind at the confident statement. Rather, she's just looking for Kate to admit it to her, to confess.
The good news is, Renee doesn't appear to be getting out her cuffs. Or her gun. Or, anything.

Batwoman has posed:
"Like you said, Renee," Kate eplies in a soft voice that isn't quite a whisper. She's referencing a covnersation Renee had with Batwoman weeks earlier, just before they started seeing one another.
"Batwoman is wanted for question in a dozen crimes. A lot of people on the force wouldn't be very pleased to see her about and more of them would take her down because it's their job." Kate breahtes a measured sigh then and slowly shakes her head, tilting it slightly to the left as she does so.The water is being pressed into Renee's hand now.
"Drink," Kate urges as she settles into place across from the detective. "You're right," she admits then. "I am Batwoman." She arches a brow. "now what?"

Renee Montoya has posed:
"You're right. A lot of people wouldn't be very pleased. Though, I think Batman still tops some people's lists," she says wryly, taking the drink. "Now? Well. Be hell of a thing to waste you getting into that dress, wouldn't it?" Renee's candor, the question doesn't reach her expression or her eyes. She's still playing poker face. But now? Now she's just messing with Kate, a little. Trying to ease some the tension. Let Kate know she's not going to tell.
"I just needed to hear it from you," she says, quietly. "That's all. To know - where we stood. Can't very well take the woman in who saved my life, can I?" She clearly still remembered the fight in the alley. When, even then, with her crimes, she'd let Batwoman go.

Batwoman has posed:
"Well, you should know where we strand now..." Kate murmrus then, turning to face Renee once more as she does. She takes a deep breath and exhales slowly, ehr gaze fixed firmly to the other woman's face.
"I'm free tonight if you'd liketo join me? I'd say it isn't much but false modesty isn't very attractive." The girl wrinkles her nose and the nshakes her head slowly, breathing a soft sigh as she does. "Or does that change anything between us?" The smile is slowly transforming into a smirk.

Renee Montoya has posed:
"No, false modesty really doesn't fit either of us. You're too damn brazen, and I'm too damn blunt," Renee agrees with a short laugh. She considers, then shakes her head, "No. Doesn't change anything. Maybe I'm just getting better. Maybe I just needed to know. Maybe you were trying to tell me. I don't know. But, no secrets, yeah?"

Batwoman has posed:
"We both have secrets, Renee," Kate responds softly, though she hsakes herh ead afterward. "I don't have any I am keeping from you now," she promises then. Afterward the redhead shifts her weight slightly then turns and walks toward Renee once more. "Come on... Keep up. You've come and visit and now you're mine for a few hours. Unless you have something you'd rather be doing?"
Kate lowers her voice to add in a staged whisper, "I have Call of Duty: SHIELD Initiative II."

Renee Montoya has posed:
"Yeah? I've got two of the new-to-market Sig Sauer MCX Mark II's in the back of my car the department was given to take to target practice," she counters, but, Renee doesn't seem too eager to go out and test them just now. Not with Kate in that dress. She welcomes Renee, exhaling some. "God, you're gorgeous," she finally relents.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate laughs and then she nods her head once, clealry amused. Those blue eyes are bright as she draws Renee closer to her. "We can check out your rifles later," she promises then in a slow, slightly sultry drawl. "Okay." Kate takes a slow, deep breath in through her nose. Afterward she leans forward and plants a firm kiss on the detective's lips.

Renee Montoya has posed:
Renee kisses back, slowly, and inulgently. A soft sigh escapes her lips, and she clutches, hard at Kate, before - at last, taking a step back. "Mmm." Her eyes glint, warmly, "A girl could get used to that," she teases, warmly. She shakes her head, "I don't know how you do it all, Kate."

Batwoman has posed:
"I don't know how some peopel do less," Kate replies simply. Then she kisses Renee again, harder this time. There's a soft, pleased noise made against her lover's lips as htey arej oined again. "I should close the blinds."
