Cast of Characters: Dragonfly (Arazello), Lex Luthor

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
The message was a bit oblique. It was directed from Nancy Arazello of the advanced propulsion lab to Lex Luthor personally. This is not the usual way of things at LexCorp, but the fact that Nancy was a recent hire puts some of her behaviours slightly higher on the interest queue. The assistant made a call.
"Mr. Luthor," it read. "I have taken some readings of an alien device that may be of interest to the advanced propulsion lab. In the process I have stumbled across a situation that I think may need your personal handling. I would like, if possible, to have a meeting with you at first available opportunity."

Lex Luthor has posed:
Lex Luthor always tries to make time for those that are attempting to assist him with his personal goals of protecting Earth and saving mankind from the darkness that threatens to reign down from above. Considering that his new hire has sent word through his own personal assistant... there must be something of interest that Lex Luthor will need to hear.

Word is sent through the LexCorp pipeline down to the propulsion labs tha Lex Luthor will spare some time to speak with the engineer. Which is why he's sitting in his chair with his fingers steepled in front of him, awaiting her arrival.

That keyword, alien, bouncing around in his head the entire time.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
"Mr. Luthor?" Nancy steps into the office, dressed in a business suit but absent-mindedly with a lab coat over top. She has that distracted look engineers who're worrying at a problem in the back of their mind get. "Thank you for seeing me."
She's nervous, for certain, but seems to not be letting this interfere with her job: communicating something of importance. She steps into the office and approaches the desk.
"You're a busy man, Mr. Luthor, so I will just get to it. A couple of nights ago a spaceship landed in Central Park, as you already know given you have your finger on the pulse of everything."
It never hurts to butter up the boss a tad so long as you don't go too far.
"What you probably did not know, though, is that I was there. I took recordings of the landing on the only instrument I had available at the time: my phone." She holds up her LexCorp-provided phone. Barrelling along, she continues, "And I went back later with some proper equipment to take readings of radiation profiles, and other such things. The team has been working on cracking this; we submitted a request for more computer time and also got some other departments to arrange for a swap pending approval."
    Circumventing policy already?
"But ... that's all stuff I could have put into a report. What is more important is that ... uh ... someone I know was also there. And she wants to arrange a meeting between the landed alien and you."

Lex Luthor has posed:
Lex Luthor knows all about the alien ship landing. That much is clear on his face. He doesn't seem surprised or shocked by anything that's coming from his engineer's mouth. In fact, he seems to even be okay with the way that things are working out on the floors below him. He doesn't even a raise an eyebrow at the circumventing of policy. After all, would he be sitting in this chair if he hadn't done some circumvention of his own during his rise to power?

Lex shakes away the thought of Lionel coming for him.

"Finally." Lex says with a bit of a smirk. He drops his hands down to the desk. "I knew that the moment I hired you that you would prove to be valuable. Aria?"

The voice just comes from everywhere because the dang thing is always connected, "Yes, Lex?"

"I want all necessary departments notified that there has been a change in priority. As of now, the alien landing is the only thing anyone in those departments should be working on. And... everyone working on this will report directly to Arazello."

"Done."

With that really weird conversation out of the way, Lex turns his focus more to Nancy. "I will take the meeting. Clearly, someone in the galaxy understands proper protocol when invading someone else's planet. Set it up."

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
"There's an ... I don't know how to put this? Acquaintance? Someone I run into in passing sometimes in my neighbourhood. She wants to introduce this alien to you. She was at the park as well. I'm not sure if you've heard of her? She goes by the name Dragonfly."
Nancy scuffs her feet a little. "Anyway, I've kind of been telling her about working here and she thinks you might be a good person to speak to this alien princess or whatever." A small nervous laugh. "Apparently she's here to protect the planet from some kind of threat and she's desperate to talk to the world's leader. And ... well, we don't have a formal leader, when it comes to defending the planet I kind of told Dragonfly you were the one to talk to."
