Synopsis: Conner and Kenan settle a few personal questions.
Cast of Characters: Super-Man, Superboy

Super-Man has posed:
Kenan went out to do heroics while he was visiting the US and acting as bodyguard to a diplomat. The thing is, he quite properly filed police reports after each time...and now has to go back for court appearances. People in the US have the right to face their accuser in court it seems. Kenan is here for the Grand Jury now, and will have to return again later for the actual trial. The court being dismissed temporarily, Kenan has headed back to Chinatwn, where he found some excellent chinese food when he was there before.

Superboy has posed:
See, this is why Superboy has an agent and lawyers. Who wants to sit down to report to the police and then go to trials? Okay, he had to a couple times. Actually, a lot of times when Inspector Makoa was involved, that guy is relentless. And a workaholic.

In New York they take superheroes for granted. There are dozens and dozens. And Conner has yet to face one of the famous local supervillains. All he has done is stop some petty crimes and a couple rescues. His latest serious battles have all been out of town. Funny that.

In fact he spends more time exploring the city than patrolling. Like today, he is exploring Chinatown. Which means Chinese food sooner or later.

Super-Man has posed:
Kenan is sitting at the table waiting on his order. Nothing really fancy, he does have to get back to court before long. Of course, his costume does draw a few looks. He is testifying as Chaoren though, so he is in costume. The question of sitting ans waiting in a long cape is, do you sit on the cape, or let it lie on the vloor behind you...well if you are in a chair it is the question anyway.

Superboy has posed:
"Hello, Superboy. Superman is that restaurant!"

Who-What?

Conner briefly stares in mild disbelief at the laughing, running children that just told him something very important. Or at least, they thought it was important. Conner is, of course, fairly famous even in New York. Not as famous as in Metro or Hawaii, but the S is a powerful symbol and his face is all over the Internet.

It is probably nothing, but he is bored and will check. "Hey man, is Superman here?" He asks the first waiter he sees. Pausing just a second to notice this seems a nicer restaurant than the usual tourist trap.

Super-Man has posed:
One thing Kenan has learned is not to over use his super hearing. It is great when he needs to find trouble, such as locating someone who has been kidnapped, but hearing too much can draw you into many situations, some of which it may be better not to get involved with. So he does not listen all the time for trouble, but when he is patrolling or looking for something he does. Right now, he is eating, so he has his power in his stomach...if anything happens being invulnerable will let him survive until he can figure out how to handle it. He meal is finally here, being delivered by a cute waitress...not as much his type as Laney Lan, but certainly worth the look.

Superboy has posed:
Superman is, indeed, in the restaurant. The waiter confirms so! Superboy looks at the young man eating at the table with disbelief. He is younger than Conner! (Or maybe not - clone years and all that).

Disbelief becomes a mixture of outrage and amusement. Would Kal-El be angry? Probably not. He is never angry. So he pushes the outrage out, and cheeks a few things in his smartphone before walking to Kenan's table.

"So... Chinese Superman, aren't you?" He starts, tone only mildly belligerent. "What brings you to the US, Supes?"

Super-Man has posed:
Kenan looks up, "Ah, Superboy. I have read about you in my lessons on Superman. Please, call me Chaoren to avoid confusion. I met the original Superman once...of course, since we were out in space at the time, we were not exactly talking. A Telepath was letting us communicate though."

OK, so Kenan is rattling on a bit...he has not met that many famous American heroes, and Superboy does qualify. He replies to the second question, "I was here a while back playing bodyguard to a diplomat, and stopped an assassination attempt. I am here today giving testimony to a Grand Jury."

Superboy has posed:
Chaoren? That doesn't sound like Superman at all. So. Good. Conner huffs, crossing his arms over his chest. That gold S he has is not really the symbol of the house of El, anyway. Not that he cares (except yes - he does).

"Grand Jury? That is a good reason," he admits reluctantly. "Oh hell," he offers his hand, smirking. "Good to meet you, call me Conner."

Super-Man has posed:
Chaoren takes Conner's hand, "It is Kenan, nice to meet you Conner. I work for the Chinese Ministry of Self Reliance, they keep me on a pretty tight leash sometimes." Sometimes, though he tends to do his own think a bit more than they like.

Superboy has posed:
Does that mean Kenan wouldn't bother with going to a trial (at the other side of the world) if his boss wasn't pushing him? That sounds logical to Conner.

"That sucks. Hope at least they pay you well," mentions Conner. Because, well, capitalism. "Few heroes work for the US government since they are usually behind a lot of secret and inhuman experiments to create super-soldiers, murder all the mutants or brainwash the rest of the metas. Sad, but true."

China is maybe different. Yeah, right.

Super-Man has posed:
Kenan says, "There are few heroes in China. The Great Ten and the Collective Man mainly. Villains are now appearing in increasing numbers, so Ministry of Self Reliance seeks to find new heroes for China. For this end they have created the Justice League of China, and they found Wonder-Woman and trained Bat-Man and they recruited me and gave me my powers and recently recruited Flash who already had powers and some training by your Flash. We focus on stopping villains and saving lives, not on being soldiers."

Superboy has posed:
Uh, soldiers? "Don't be a soldier. I mean, you can be a soldier, but sounds to me China need some more heroes there," replies Conner. Did that sound preachy? Damn. "Bah, don't listen to me. But maybe you should go talk with Kal. With Superman, I mean."

Conner grins. "Anyway, I better get going. I was just curious and I have stuff to do. Enjoy your meal. I'm sure I'll see you around." He heads out.

Super-Man has posed:
Kenan says, "I have to get back to the courthouse tro finish my testimony. It was nice to meet you." He quickly finish his meal and pays for it before leaving."
