Synopsis: Gangland violence in Little Tokyo is revealed to be much more, becoming an ambush targetting one of Gotham's defenders. The wake of swordplay, high-tech violence, magic, and explosions leaves many questions. Was Robin their target all along? Who is the mysterious, armored ninja who lead the assailants? And most importantly, where have they taken the young hero now?!
Cast of Characters: Deathstroke, 1316, Kaelyn Silverleaf, Ahadiel, Robin (Wayne)

Deathstroke has posed:
It is an average enough evening in Gotham's Cobble Hill. Of course 'average' for Gotham means 'criminal mischief galore' and in little Little Tokyo this means 'minor Yakuza gang war', between a few enforcers for one particular clan and what seem to be members of an outside organization. The tussle, ostensibly, occurs over, or at least in the vicinity of, a particular gambling parlor. Obviously this is a possession of the afforementioned native criminals, who take outside interference as an affront to their particular style of honor.

It begins with some men inside using devices that sway the odds of certain electronic and computerized gambling machines; it proceeds into a confrontation, and that confrontation escalates into people shooting and waving swords around, both inside the parlor, and shortly after, spilling out onto the nearby street, a crowded, neon-illuminated side alley host to a similar variety of disreputable businesses.

Hana Yoshida (1316) has posed:
"Takeshi..." a pale women with ebon hair so heavy it is almost in ropes on her head says to an older tattooed "businessman" at the gambling parlor in question. She is convering in Japanese "... I don't care how much they will pay me. I will NOT go back to Japan. You know how I feel." He starts to interject and she cuts him off with a slash of her hand through the air. "Enough! You know better than to make me angry."

He raises his hands to show he means no harm. "Will you at least see what you can do to help control this..." and he motions to the escalating chaos around them. "It is bad for business, and soon the police will come."

"Alright. You owe, then." and she strides into the melee within the parlor.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Sooo, she had been here for the mall sponsored art Gala, the often odd, curvy redhead having put up a couple of her nicer clockork animals for her little contribution to the Gala, one having been a very nice brass and german silver unicorn that could actually walk... Kae is wandering out of the mall/gala carrying said clockwork, muttering about allowing stuff like this, then saying it's electronic, even though there wasn't a single electronic contrivance inside the rather georgeous unicrn... Thus Kae wasn't able to sell it or even place in the contest considering some snobby person disqualified her item saying it was in the wrong category.. And when asked to take it apart to prove there's no electronics, Kae at that point pretty much refused too...

The redhead mutters to her self and sighs "Ruddy gala politics..." She mutters, as she sets to place the clockwork unicorn int her backpack. She glances around tapping a foot now as she walks past the alley she blinks and pauses, now glancing at the loonacy outside the parlor... She then looks around again, green eyes taking in the place, and begins wandering toward the conflaguration, weaving a bit of a spell to make most normal folks not be able to recognize the redhead later should she have to use her abilities fully.

Ahadiel has posed:
Of course, the art gala was far from the only place one could find art. In this case, a rather seedy looking store in Little Tokyo has a rather unusual matron. After negotiating sharply in fluent Japanese with the store clerk, Angela Davis finds herself walking out of the storefront with a small box in her hands... just in time to see swords and guns everywhere in the streets. She sighs very quietly at the sight.

"If I wanted this, I could have stayed in Hell's Kitchen..."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
It wouldn't be a night in Gotham without a spot of mayhem. Drug busts on Thursday, small gang war on Friday! Robin had been on watch for most of the night, scoping out the usual haunts to not only clean up crime, but also to keep an eye out for more serious activity that he and the other members of the bat clan would need to intervene in.

Damian had kept using his grappling gun to swing from building to building, stopping after he had seen a tussle in the middle of the street. The boy had moved to the rooftop of an adjacent building for now, planning out how he was going to intervene in this situation.

Deathstroke has posed:
Within the parlor, the few yakuza seem to fail at keeping the men who'd robbed or otherwise electronically bamboozled their machines from fleeing, meeting a couple of their fellows who form a 'rear guard' for the escaping lot. Those will be the first Hana encounters. One striks out with some kind of charged baton, another with some kind of gun that fires a concussive pulse. However things go, the fight follows the fleeing ones out, announcing itself with angry shouts in Japanese. "Yamero!" - for them to stop, and then, "Ute!" which is conveniently translated for those who need it by the first of the gunfire: a couple rounds from the Yakuza that seem to fail against body armor of whatever variety worn below the outsiders clothes, and more in return, several of the yakuza falling with sizzling wounds.

Panic erupts on the street just as quickly. While a little Yakuza violence is part and parcel for the neighborhood, and an expected result of doing anything to mess with or insult their businesses, it's usually not quite as bad as this. So people scream and run, especially the non-Japanese who may be in the neighborhood looking for a fun, exotic night out. They get it, just not in the fashion they imagined.

The Yakuza do get in some licks, though, particularly one man in a sharp suit with a sharper sword, who leaps forward and cuts down a man with a fancy... well, something. He raises his blade to strike another, and then it stops - deflected by a similar man dressed in something approaching an armored ninja costume. This is weird and out of place only in that he's apparently *not* on the side of the Yakuza.

Hana Yoshida (1316) has posed:
Hana pulls her hair back as she walks, putting it into a quick pontail with an elastic she produces from nowhere. Another motion and she draws forth from somewhere a long chain with weights on either end - a kusarifundo. She swings one end a moment and then lets loose - the weight headed for the arm of the baton-wielder to entangle, she'll follow that up with a kick to the ribs. "This was a stupid place to come tonight." she says, still in Japanese.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is getting closer to the messup, the woman looking from item to item and persn to person as she takes a moment to set a ward about her self so as to avoid being turned into swiss cheese... Luckily it's the right precaution as a stray round deflects off her ward causing it to flicker briefly, power rolling back and forth across its surface as it absorbs the kinetic energy.. Kae takes a deep breath now, letting it out as she mutters "Thank you all that's holy, it worked...." She mutters, never having tested it out on bullets before....

The redhead rubs her hands together as she tries to figure out how best to go about stopping this thing... She then shrugs and starts muttering, one after another a nearly invisible sphere of something or other begins to float from Kae's now upturned palms and orbit the woman.

Ahadiel has posed:
Meanwhile, a smirking Yakuza in a suit brandishes a katana towards Angela in all the chaos, "Why don't you hand that box over, gaijin?" To which, Angela smirks right back, answering in fluent Japanese, "Sure, catch!" And then she lobs the box into the air towards the man...

Which is a prelude to reaching out and grabbing his wrist, bending it at a rather unnatural angle to make him drop the blade as she says, "The craftsmanship is almost as shoddy as your manners. Next time, learn respect!" With that, she viciously headbutts the man, sending him down to the ground as she looks unfazed. Calmly, she reaches down and picks up the fallen blade, twirling it experimentally as she looks into the fray with a curious expression, not sure where even to begin in this madness.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
His own katana is unsheathed, a high pitched whine ringing out as he jumped down, rolling as he lands, keeping his eyes on some of the other swordsmen, in fact, he enters the fray between the other two.

Damian starts with a strike to the man wielding the fancy...something, attempting to disarm him.

Of course, anyone who knew Gotham knew the legends of Batman and Robin, seems one half of the Dynamic Duo was watching the exchange.

Deathstroke has posed:
The armored ninja has nothing all that particularly fancy in terms of weaponry, compared to the man who had been cut down by the yakuza moments prior. He has swords. Two very sharp swords, but visibly nothing more strange than that. It's simply that he knows what to do with them. In the few moments after he intervenes between the finely-suited Yakuza and his second target, he parries a blow, disarms the man with his second motion of his own, and then begins what would likely be a fatal swing-

-only to find Robin's blade in the way. But the Bat-child will feel it, even in that first contact. There's a tremendous strength behind the swordsmans' strokes, far more than human. It transfers through the blade contact, shakes one down to their bones. And as he's 'foiled', the masked figure speaks, seeming neither surprised nor intimidated: "Ah, here's one."

An instant later, he's kicked the yakuza he was fighting fully across the ally and spun cleanly into a barrage assault on Damian, his two blades striking seemingly from every angle, again and again, with lightning speed.

Notably to the others, while the yakuza fight continues to play out, the invaders inside likely getting mopped up, but the yakuza largely falling in the alley against the better-armed group, the unidentified 'criminals' seem to form a defensive perimeter now not around the guys with the stolen electronic cash, but around the ninja-vs-Robin match.

Hana Yoshida (1316) has posed:
Not having anyone to fight at the moment, Hana produces a mesh head covering, one that likely came from an old Halowe'en costume. She slips it over her head, hair and all, and her features are concealed. Damian likely got a look at her earlier, though. The manriki-gusari goes away and she produces a small blade, a tanto. She stops to watch the fight for a moment.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae hasn't yet drawn much attention, however, she decides now that she's readied things, she's ready to delve in. She lifts a hand and suddenly those spheres arc out away from her, each one targetting an armed thug. As the spheres accelerate, she mutters a simple word, but some how it carries.. "Still!" Is all she says at this point, giving the magic spheres purpose rather than just form, each sphere rockets toward a different sword or gun wielding maniac should they impact they would surround the fellow and freeze them immediately in whatever pose they were in, locking them standing in place... @r@r One Mook who looked to be about to charge Kae is suddenly stopped with his sword held high in the air, before he teeters over and clatters to the ground. Another pair of guys, who were about to cut each other badly suddenly find them selves stopped mid swing. They slowly teeter forward and hold each other up, frozen much like statues... One guy, who sees the the sphere heading his way turns to run, and ends up getting kocked forward into another fellow, the little freezing aura wrapping both of them, now freezing them in their current positon, the head of one guy stuck between the legs of another. Kae mutters "Ooh, Yay, 2 for one!!" The other two spheres catch two other guys, one swirving and changing at a right angle to clonk him in the side of the head and sending him cartwheeling, now locked in whatever position he was in before her clatters woodenly to the to the ground, while the last poor fellow is caught in the chin. He teeters over backward as if hit by an uppercut, and rests on the ground, now frozen in a position fit for a manakin...

At that point Kae notices the two with the sword, and frowns, does she work on mooks or try to help the boy fighting meganinja.... Decisions decisions... Kae then grins and tries to place a ward on Robin to protect him from the next few blows from Super ninja, hoping maybe to give the boy a little extra in case slade should get through his guard.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela looks about to retrieve her box, then glances back towards the ring of... well, they aren't yakuza, but they're crowding around another ninja type fighting a costumed kid. Looking down at her sword, she sighs and moves towards the circle, shouting in Japanese, "Hey, you jerks aren't worthy to do my laundry!" She leaves the box where it is for the moment, holding the sword she purloined in one hand for now as she waits to see if the insult helps distract a few in the crowd surrounding Robin and the armored ninja.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian's Katana have been through a ton of battles, but no one single adversary had such raw strength behind their strike as this ninja fellow. It was more than enough to have Damian knock back his hood before continuing.

The flurry attack is only matched by Damian's blocks, causing metallic ringing to clash in the air over and over again. The end of which isn't to say he's not in any pain, each block had felt like nothing he felt before. He works through it, however, years of League training had made Damian a prime combatant. As the ward is placed over him, he figures it time to give back what he owed the other ninja.

The now somewhat smaller boy lashes out with a flurry of his own, spinning with precision and calculated movements that would make himself proud. As he ends his attack, he attempts a wide cut on the side of the ninja, attempting to disarm one of the blades.

Deathstroke has posed:
It's likely to be a frustrating fight, for Damian. On one hand, the young assassin has fought some of the world's best trained warriors and this man... he isn't -quite- that. It's not to say that he's not good, but he's a step below the likes of more masterful figures. There are moments where he's sloppy, too aggressive, where his technique reveals imperfections. The frustrating thing? Is that despite all that, he's still winning. The physicality between the two is a total mismatch, one an adolescent, the other... well, far better than human. And while he makes mistakes, he does other things that just seem impossible, figuring out Robin's battle tactics as they play out and then pre-empting them, all at a ridiculous speed.

So as their fight plays out, it goes slowly against the boy wonder. A grazing strike here, a jarring parry there. The occasional elbow or knee joining their weapon battle, finding soft targets. And also... the fact that he just doesn't seem to tire. The armored figure goes all out, non-stop, all the time. There's never a pause, never a break. He's untiring. And did we mention armor? Damian will definitely get some strikes in, the guy's occasional sloppy errors leave openings for sure... but -armor-. It's tough stuff, too.

Kae doesn't have much trouble knocking down a few of those still fighting, thinning things as the action around the ring continues to fade out. Its clear things are not what they first appeared, by now. This isn't some bit of spontaneous ninja honor duel where they've stopped to watch. It's planned, it's orchestrated, to a degree. And the men guarding the central fight are clearly unrelated to the Yakuza, no rival clan. Angela's insult, for instance, goes- well, not just unanswered, but probably not even understood.

As they're watching, though, things do turn in one moment, as the more brutish, larger ninja aims to take advantage of his opponent and strikes hard on the tail of a barrage aimed at weakning Robin's defenses. Instead he strikes against the magical ward, his blade repelling with the feeling of repelling magnets or something similar. It's utterly unexpected and totally fouls his rhythm, and in that instant, the younger opponent counterattacks, striking away one of his blades. He moves to defense with the other, while his hand reaches for... well, something! He's one of these people with countless pouches, much like a certain cowled mentor.

Hana Yoshida (1316) has posed:
"Step back, kohai." the hooded girl in green says in Japanese, her fists suddenly engulfed in green flame. If Damian does or or not, a gout if sickly green flame is launched, aimed for the feet of the larger ninja... not so much to hurt him but to melt (and possibly ignite) the asphalt of the street below him.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae notices the ward strike, muttering quietly.. She then whispers toward Damian, her words somehow carrying over the din of the fight and just loud enough to hear and only by him. "4-5 hits.. Do not count on more..." She says. Then looks at the folks around the fight, before directiong whispers to people that she noticed helping out, namely Angela.. "This looks orchestrated... I do not think the group ringing that fight has anything to do with the Yakuza, I think they are here for Robin." Then she notices the green fire woman and directs her whisper to them too.. "I can lend more aid if need be..." She whispers, using her magic to let that carry.

Kae mutters to her self now, "Sooo gotta work on more area of effect type castings..." She mutters, then raises a hand, targeting one of the folks around the ring. This time a ball of force blasts out frm her hand, the thing arcing its way toward the fellow at terrific speeds. This isn't a more fancy paralitic spell, this is just a raw bolt of force, which hits the fellow in his middle as if a mule kicked em, launching him backward. Kae points with her other hand now, another ball of force blasting from her other hand to go zipping at another mook before flipping him as if kicked by a prized martial artist, leaving him still from the impact.

Ahadiel has posed:
Angela's challenge does cause a few to break ranks, the criminals at the edge of the circle nearest her drawing their guns to take aim... which just gives her an opening as the cheap knockoff katana seems to almost sing in Angela's hands. Expertly, she slices through one gun completely before it can be fired. The other does go off, but the woman doesn't appear bothered as she chops the other gun down to size as well. After which, she only says one word.

    "Run."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Frustrating was definitely a way to put it, especially with. young man who seemed to live in a constant state of frustration. Robin bared his teeth, growling with every strike. His costume sliced open in places, revealing the armored stealth suit underneath. The larger ninja however did manage to cut down to skin in places, as even the best armor had places that couldn't be covered, blood had run down and spattered on the former assassin's face, peppering it.

Kaelyn's whispers are heard, unfortunately, the smaller combatant keeps his concentration on the battle at hand, he was grateful though for the warding.

The smaller ninja had kept up his anger as Hana joined in the fray. The olive skinned boy responding back. "I'm not a -f^$@ing- kohai!" he quips, lashing out with his sword to the larger ninja with a jumping front flip, unafraid of the fire, he had a fire inside him that he'd been holding back. Despite his size and all, he had the will to keep pushing himself. Unfortunately his rage induced bravado had left him open to counterattack.

Deathstroke has posed:
It's probablty for the best that some of the new arrivals interfere. Because the guys in the circle? Yeah, they're not doing the 'sacred honor duel' thing either. The very instant that their armored 'leader' hits that ward and subsequently loses a weapon, the first moment he's not visibly overwhelming his opponent? They decide to hurry things along.

So suddenly there's several men pointing a variety of stun weapons at Robin, some taking pot-shots at range, giving him even more to worry about dodging, some lunging toward the melee. One of those stops in his tracks, caught up in Kae's spell, his weapon brandished in the air and... well, continuing to be brandished as the man remains there, statue-like.

Not all of them rush the central fight. Some turn against those interfering. Weapons, not only normal firearms, but energy devices too, are raised and fired at Hana and even Kae, as someone raises another hand-held device and points at her, as if he's possibly tracked down the source of the ward. The ones closer to Angela trade in for melee side arms, not readily intimidated. These aren't thugs, claerly. They're soldiers, and that may account for the scattering of the Yakuza at the outset. In any event, things are quickly chaos.

In the center, the armored figure is taken by surprise by the blast, but again, there is a speed to his actions and even, seemingly, his thoughts, that keeps even these surprises from overwhelming him. She gets a foot, or part of one, even given his super-quick dodges. That keeps him pinned a moment, as Robin launches his attack, and then a lot happens at once: the foolhardy rush is met with a parry from the assassin's remaining sword, while he withdraws some small device with his previously emptied hand. Robin's flipping momentum carries him over the man - who reverses his blade to make a blind stab behind him, where he assumes Robin will land. The other hand tightens around the small device. What is it?

The explosions answer, several blowing out the front of the gambling parlor, possibly set right on the front row of machines, and right behind Hana. A split second later, a second pair of explosions echo, at points on either side of the circle, further up and down the alley... right where anyone who might have come to interfere would likely pass.

And then, nothing. Those remaining are left, perhaps, with ringing ears at the best, considerably worse in the most dire cases. The ninja is gone, as is a big foot-shaped chunk of asphalt, and any of his living allies with him, though some of the fallen ones remain, though the explosions remove the option of 'live prisoners.'

And Robin?

Hana Yoshida (1316) has posed:
The energy weapons are no trouble for Hana - they strike her and burn through her green suit, but they do her no harm. Luckily, before she can be riddled with bullets the explosions happen and she's thrown to the ground. She curses loudly in Japanese, over-loudly, as she can't hear anything but her ears ringing.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae's hand waves in front of her, reinforcing her ward as it's impacted by shot after shot, the ward now putting on quite the light-show as force rolls across its surface, the ward glowing bright blue and white with each impact... Then suddenly the explosion goes off, More balls of force now, more powerful than the last, lash out frm the woman exploding between mooks and sending them flying. Then suddenly the building blows up! Kae blinks as she see's the wall of fire and rubble coming at her, instinctively ducking down and crouching. One of the bracelets on her wrist glow brightly, as the woman is encased in a bubble now, this a more powerful ward activated in defense of the woman, and a ward that is not a 1 way type deal, instead it's solid. As the blast rolls over her, she's picked up and rolled around as if she were in one of those inflatable balls folk use to go off the side of mountains in...

Kae's bounced off a wall, then rebounds up, and over, and then bounced off the other side as the ward spins from the sudden acceleration, Kae is spun about its interior to and as the sphere lands and rols away only a few feet from the explosion it's still spinning with Kae inside.. And yes she may be turning a bit green as the ball slowly spins to a stop... She lays on her back a moment, and while her ears aren't ringing, everything is spinning! She stares up at the gap between the buildings and blinks "Erp!! Bad... Idea!" She says, rolling over as if to gag... Then just as quickly she catches her self, now trying to walk, yah she's staggering all over the case, yay Dizzy witch, As she walks the sphere moes along with her like a hampster in a ball... Then it dissapates, letting her kind of stumble into a wall. "Stop spiinnniiiing!"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
At this point, there is hardly anything Damian can actually do against the two shots he would take from stunning blows from some pretty interesting technology.

As the fledgling Robin makes his move, missing the mark on his flashy attack. Explosions all around would have caused quite the issue had it not been for the last traces of his ward absorbing damage.

It had been the grey ninja's final stab that would cause Damian the most issues, right to the side, in between small armor plates he had been stabbed to the side, before having vanished alongside the other assailants, seemingly without a trace.
