High Sea Travisty!
Date of Scene: 30 April 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Crusader, Dragonfly (Arazello), Bigby Wolf

Crusader has posed:
Ahhhh the open sea and salty air! The spray of water from breeching walls and the stars shimmering above! A rather good day to be be getting ready to port. It would be a few more hours before reaching shores...but not bad right?

Some folks are busy making sure crates are tied down, the engines in check, and that are systems are in order. But a breeze was begining to pick up...and clouds rolling in shockingly fast. A storm...brewing? There was no sign of it by the reports. The waves get larger rolling the ship back and forth. Light flash in the sky with cracks of thunder! Rocking the ship too and fro! And than comes the boom. An explosion in the hull...the ship was begining to go down.

The effect can be seen even from the city...a localized storm of all things. The cause unknown. Messages are quickly sent to shore about the supernatural diaster, before being suddenly cut off hearing only a yell. And on land nearby, word at least near the shores was also spreading of the phenomnon that was going on.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
The worst thing about being a hero is the endless practice with an unfamiliar body, unfamiliar powers, unfamiliar limitations. Dragonfly powers through the air, trying to find her upper limit, hitting it at a speed that should be causing enough friction to burn her to a crisp. People as far as Maine can hear her sonic boom as she travels at four times the speed of sound.
From the sky she sees the odd disturbance and alters course to intercept. Arrival time: three minutes, give or take.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
There's a rather burly fellow in a long coat, standing at the railing of the ship and peering with a frown down into the water on the opposite side to the docks.

Memories.

Normally he likes water -- but after a certain incident in the distant Past... it just brings back memories now. Blowing out a cloud of smoke from a cigarette, the man -- Bigby Wolf -- glances around himself aboard the ship, and grunts: "You'd think I'd learn by now..." but when he's hired to look into strange storms just off the coast... how can he say no?

Crusader has posed:
The boat on the dock begins moving from the docks. Once far enough out...it pumps up the power as it heads towards the storm! Which was only growing in power...and oddity! A boar ride that should have taken a few hours to reach the Storm instead take only a few minutes. The sight of the sinking ship becomming quickly visible as men and women alike seem to try and keep clutch of debree

Magic was in the air.

And that magic is creating one hell of a gale. As if any more cue that this was not a natural storm, Dragonfly can feel the wind whipping about her. It was ordinary. ANd quite suddenly lightning seems to actually be trailing her. As if each bolt was trying to force her down into the water. Hopefully she is fast enough to dodge lightning!

Large waves...or tendrills of water! Seem to try and take ahold of Bigby boat. On the other sinking ship, one can see what appears to be giant sea urchines creeping up the sides. Each about twice the size of a man. The of the the urchanes spikes glow in a pattern reminicient of runes.

Giant Urchines didn't seem to be the only giant sea creature around. WHat looked like a massive stingway was gliding beneath the water. On it back though glowed a bright sigil - a Shield Emblazed with a Sun, a signature of Crusader. Seems he got wind of this was comming to help. Weather he is recognized or not is another matter entirely.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
Outrun lightning? No. Redirect lightning? Not at the speeds she's flying; she'd be pummeled into unconsciousness in seconds. Simply endure it? Hell yeah. It hurts. A lot. The kind that makes her scream in pain and anger. But it doesn't even frizzle her hair.
"I am so going to tear apart whoever just did that," she mutters to herself as she slows down to subsonic speeds flies nap-of-the-sea, carving through waves. "And let's see what these things do when I..."
Fists extended over her head she smacks into one of the urchins like a torpedo moving at 1200km/h.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
If there is one thing that Bigby hates about storms... they usually involve //wind//. Wind is... well, to have a conversation with the Wind is like shouting at teenagers through a locked and barred door while the music is up so loud it's more than likely the teenager has climbed out the window and fled...

Except Bigby knows 'someone's home'.

It still doesn't really help. He can barely make out the sound of Dragonfly's voice... and even that doesn't tell him much. "HEY!!" he bellows into the storm with the volume of one who can blow down buildings. "CUT IT OUT!!" A pause. "What'n hell has gotten inta you...? I -- !" He goes to say something else, but the Wind whips the cigarette out of his mouth and sends it flying into the brine.

"That's just plain mean. YER GROUNDED! C'mon... work with me. Work with me... I can feel the magic pullin' at ya. If ya can't just //stop// this, then maybe..." Bigby trails off once he sees the giant stingray. He doesn't recognise it, and underwater there's no smell for him to detect either. Instead, he turns his attention to the Wind once more, bending 'threads' of it downward to attack the sea-creatures climbing up the sides of the ship.

Crusader has posed:
That one poor sea-urchin....it goes SPLAT! Raining guts and spikes everywhere! Needless to say it was most definintly just torpedo to death by a Dragonfly. And one can swear that an army of guns just reloaded, licked and turned towards Dragonfly...the guns being Sea Urchins in this case. Spikes trailed on her

The spikes glow brighter, stronger and than suddenly they rocket out of the sea urchins bodies, the magic infused projectiles heading right for her! A few stray pieces alter course thanks to some Big Bad Wolves bending the wind, they instead hit the boat and slice into it like butter!

The Wind....talks back! But it like a whisper more than a shout....well like a thousand whispers really, each adding clarity "sea hag." and then louder "..Sea Hag..." and finally "SEA HAG!!!!!" it seems to suddenly scream at him... and than a different voice "GROUND THIS!" and the wind comes barreling down on bigby try to toss and turn his boat, threatning to overturn it! Apprently it didn't apprecaite being yelled at. But on the bright side, The wind Bigby DID managed to bend actually knock several of the urchins down into the water. Each creating a massive splash

he stingray in question seems to concentrate on the people. Sudenly thick tendrills rise from the stingway and pull people down into itself. The amount of people in the ocean dwindling. It dips and turns as if making sure to get everyone. Lives first, ship latter is Crusader thought.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
"Oh shit oh shit ohshitohshitohshit!" That can't be good having glowing sea urchin spikes coming after her. Dragonfly hits the deck. By which is meant she hits the water, going underneath and propelling herself where projectiles have a tough time following. Waiting for the glow to pass overhead she breaks the surface and pauses looking around for what to do. The urchins have at least temporarily shot their load, so she looks around for people, picking up a handful of them with an arm gesture and sending them toward the ship that isn't sinking. Yet.
A glowing projectile strikes her shoulder from behind, penetrates her flesh, but fails to penetrate through.
"What the...?" That's followed by a scream of pain as the venom in the projectile starts burning through her veins.
The people she's carrying to the ship land a bit heavily.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
"What do you need me to do, Daddy?" asks a child-like, disembodied voice in a whisper. It comes from right beside Bigby, who is currently holding onto the railing to keep from being knocked into the sea. He grunts. "Nothin' fer now, kid," he tells the little invisible air-elemental there. Then he glances over at Dragonfly and frowns. "Might need ya to get a message to the Bug Lady there, son...I can smell poison -- those urchins."

Then the full force of the Sea-Hag's storm-power hits the boat again and Bigby snarls. "Get outta here, kid! Daddy's gotta WOOORRRK...!" In retaliation to the storm, Bigby inhales and releases a blast of air worthy of the stories. Unfortunately, this display has him losing a bit of control over his carefully maintained form, and 'the wolf' breaks out through his clothing, shredding it into rags that... blow away.

Bigby silently curses himself.

Crusader has posed:
Dragonfly makes it to Bigby boat the people landing. They were soaked, bruised and out of energy. They have no strength to even mutter a thank you or anything. The poison coursing through Dragonfly....would surely kills a 'regular' human in minutes but for those with strong enough bodies...well best hope they have strong enough bodies or can get help soon!

As the urchines climb, now ignore Dragonfly, people still on the boat are using whatever they can to beat the urchines back. Pipes, barrels, oars, whatever they can get their hands on. The urchines fight back shooting spikes into the humans on board. The ship was still sinking and the storm not letting up. In particular... it seems like the urchins are bunched togeather as if /guarding/ the hole in the haul that was made

When Bigby blows back at the wind...well it seems whoever their opponent was did not expect that kind of force. The breath knocked the wind back on it rear to put it simply, which for now calmed the waters.

No longer waves, but tendrills of water rise...high...very high. A shadow over the smaller boat that Bigby, Dragonfly and the passagengers are on. It seemed to pull back like an arm preparing to give a fly a slap down

That is untill the stingway briefly jumps out of the water and slices the water tendril in two making it disperse back into the oceans. Other tendrills rise and Crusader jumps again and again to slice them and protect the boat.

But untill the source of this calamity is taken care of.....our heros let alone are victems may soon nothing by Ghosts of the Sea.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
Dragonfly pulls herself together. "It had to happen sometime, you knew that," she mutters to herself as she covers her wound with her hand awkwardly.
"I don't know who you are," she calls out to Bigby, "but if you can keep this up, I'm going to see if I can find the source. Fighting it here is just a holding action. We need to find the engine."
With that she plunges headfirst into the water and dives, looking for anything out of place.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
Bigs frowns at that comment; it's given as though... the 'Bug Lady' knows him. Weird. His ears swivel toward her and he rather obviously sniffs the air, but coming up with nothing he can recognise, he turns back to the storm and grunts.

While Dragonfly goes back into the drink, the Big Bad Wolf has another crack at keeping the storm at bay. The only side-effect for now... is it makes for a rather rough ride for the passengers. Can't be helped. At least the ship isn't sinking... yet.

Crusader has posed:
As Dragonfly dives down...there nothing of note beneath the water. Inky black and blue darkness. Not a fish to stir or a drift wood to behold. Only the ever swirling artifacts of the people on the ship.

Rather the only thing out of place is till how the seaurchin guard the hole on the haul of the ship which water was still getting into

The storm is trying to fight back at Bigby huffing, puffing and blowing like he was some big bad wolf. The storms winds whip about trying to get through Bigs Windblowing, but it seems that though the magic was strong enough to conjure this storm and even control the waves, it couldn't match bigs in a direct battle of the winds!

Crsuader himself is doing his part to keep the wateritself at bay. It didn't stop the boat from walking and every now and again a passanger falls off, which the stingray quickly envelopes.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
"OK, let's try this the other way," Dragonfly thinks. She propels herself through the water until she reaches the bottom of the ship. Exerting every ounce of strength she has, every erg of propulsion, and every little bit that her telekinesis can offer she starts to push the ship upward.
"GyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhHHHH!" she shouts as her head breaks the surface, straining herself into agony, her heart pumping the venom through her system faster, causing more pain. "I can't hold this for very long!" she shouts to anybody in range. "Clean those things off and fix that hole if you can!"
On the deck of the boat the survivors are tossed into a long slide down the ship excepting the ones who managed to grab onto something when the ship lurched.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
Bigby stops bellowing at the storm, once Dragonfly breaks the surface; he can feel all that emotional anguish, and it makes him grimace. "Hang in there, Lady!" he calls out, and then snarls at the Wind. "Fight her," he grates through his teeth. "The Sea-Hag. Yer the frickin' Wind. FIGHT. HER. Shit." He curses again, inside his mind, hoping his zephyr of a son isn't around to hear that part. This is no place for a wyld zephyr anyway.

Bigs jumps over the side the ship, waving some of the crew to join him -- yes. Join the naked werewolf! -- and immediately goes about slashing at the antagonistic urchins. The odd blast of air helps too.

Crusader has posed:
Scramble the Urchins, scramble the urchins!

As if sensesing a threat, the urhcin begins to abandon trying to get ondeck. Instead they begin creeping towards Dragonfly! They shoot off spikes, but with her being UNDER the ship they can't actually hit her. But they can creep towards her... and they were getting closer

The Wind Responds in kind "Easy for you to say!" but suddenly the storm is brewing.... differently. It was beging to fight the Sea-Hags magic and was blowing even more wildly than before. It was no longer the Hags storm... it was just a plain angry storm.

Naked Werewolf, man eating sea-urchin. Well this will be a salty tail for any sialor. But they join the naked werewolf! Working to beat back Urchins as best they can!

Crusader no longer needing to cut down on the waves is able to join the fight proper. He glides toward Dragonfly...or more accuratly the hole. He suddenly leaps from the water towards the hole entering the boat adding a sudden 2 tons to what Nancy already was carrying.

From the hole there is a sudden flash of light and a howl of pain. Good lord, magic hurts. Yes the sea-hag was in that hole.

Bigby Wolf has posed:
Leaving Dragonfly to try and keep the ship aloft, Bigby physically bends as much of the metal hull back around flat as he can... then leaves the crewmen to patch it up.

That flash of magic in the vessel's bowels... the scent of pain... both have Bigs swinging down inside the ship where the giant stingray thing (which is clearly not one's average stingray) had vanished. The wolfman's nostrils flare and his eyes gleam in the dark.

"Let me in. Let me in..." he snarls tauntingly to the Sea-Hag. He can smell her too -- rather, he can't NOT-smell her. She stinks. "You've pissed off the Wind... that ain' wise."

Crusader has posed:
WHere Bigby was sniffing... there suddenly a massive dent as if something slammed into the wall. Huge really. ANd more pain...

A dodge and another shot of magic in the same spot opens up a hole for Bigby to to get in.

Inside, well that was the sea-hag. Old as all hells, seaweed for hair, wrinkled, pale purplish skin with black spots. Large pointed teeth like she had the jaws of a deep see angler! And of course her withered seawood staff which radiated with magic

And the person so was shooting at? Well it wasn't the stingray anymore, it was the massive armored form of The Crusader, bearing the same sigil as the stingway. He had out what looked like a spear... that crackled with regular electricty.

Another bolt is fired... and litterly tears a hole in the Crusader, but dosn't bring him down... but it clear it painful. He fires a bolt of lightning at her which the Hag deflects. She cackles "Once I done with you, the little ol' puppy there and your oh so scumptious bug are done for!" she licks her lips as if anticipating a good meal

Bigby Wolf has posed:
"Who ya callin' 'pup', Tin Man?" the wolfy-fellow retorts, keeping his eyes on the Sea-Hag. He wrinkles his muzzle again, wincing. "Jesus... no wonder you hags stay below sea-level most o' the time...ugh." That stench must really be bothering him.

To combat it -- and the hag -- Bigs blasts her with a short, 'bark' of wind... hopefully enough to worry her somewhat... but without tearing the ship apart. He's still conscious of Dragonfly's efforts outside.

And the civilians onboard.

"Little help here..." he mutters to the weather, calling in a localised whirlwind of sorts... a bit of 'payback', courtesy of the storm outside.

Crusader has posed:
The hag prepares to fire another bolt of magic but this time aimed at Bigbys! It flared dangerously....untill he start blasting her with short barks of wind! Indeed she was worried and began to focus more attention of him trying to put up a shield agaist the wind

And that when the wind decided to have some pay back! It blows fiercly in through the hole and at the hag. Spraying up water at her with reckless abandon!

With Bigby and his windy friend distracted the hag, Crusader hand flicker to life with electricty. He bring his hang back as the lightning forms an alternate spear... one he flings at the withc.

This time she the one to howl with pain as she begins blinking with the shock, he skeleton becomming visible several times! Deep sea monsters and their thin skin right?

Bigby Wolf has posed:
"Hit her again, fella," Bigby tells Crusader. Hmm, should get a name to go with the suit of armour... another time. "Can't let this fish go back into the sea without bein' cooked all proper-like."

He follows through with another bellowed blast of air, while the storm hits the hag from the opposite direction. The light coming in from outside gets darker as the crewmen get closer and closer to patching the hole...

"Eyes on me, Sea-Witch!" Bigby snarls. He deliberately does not leap into melee range, but stays back so that Crusader can shoot.

No one wants to smell singed wolfhair.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader narrows his eyes and prepare another bolt of lightning. "Gladly!" and he hurls the bolt as before with all the force he can muster!

The witch barely recovered from the first shock, and they bellowing blast of air! Curses. SHe manges to get a shield up just in time to stop the attack! "Damn you land dwellers...." it clear she was almost spent. The shiled glows bright, blindingly so.... and suddenly the Sea-Witch is gone with one last cackle.

The raging storm subsides. For now anyways

Bigby Wolf has posed:
Bigby growls.

"I... hate it when they get away," he mutters in a dark, guttural voice. "That's gonna nag at the back o' my mind all day now..." At least the hole can be patched now without the threat of the hag ripping it open again. That's something. And Dragonfly won't have to hold it up much longer... that's something else.

The 9'-tall wolfman turns his muzzle toward Crusader and gives a crisp nod of his shaggy head. "Got a name, bud? Nice shootin'."

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
"Help?" The plaintive cry from below reminds the pair of how soon the ship is going to be back in the water. Dragonfly struggles mightily with her failing strength as the venom threads through her blood more and more. "I can't keep this up much. Get that hole fixed and stop playing in there!"

Crusader has posed:
"Crusader" is all the big guy says before he actualy manages to surge through a rather tiny hole left in the haul they were patching up. He momentarily looked likq polished liquid chrome as he went through. And plops into the water. He reforms as a sting way. His deep voice reverbrates "You can drop it now you know" he says simply, unaware that there was venom coursing through her veins

Bigby Wolf has posed:
"Neat trick."

The wolfman makes his way through the corridors of the vessel to emerge a few minutes later on deck. By the time he gets there, he has already begun to shift back into something more human...

Sans clothes.

In truth, he barely seems to notice until some of the passengers stare. "Shit... Someone... get me a towel?" Despite the question, and the issue of his nudity, he is already looking for Dragonfly -- that poison has him worried.

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
Drop it she does. And Dragonfly drops with it, leaking blood, falling into unconsciousness, drifting down into the salt water. The ship plummets into water like a toy duck in the bathtub and wallows dangerously fore and aft, port and starboard. Some unwary types are flung into the water to join Dragonfly in her slow drift down.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader blinks as Dragonfly becomes unconciouse. ANd apprently dropping the boat was not the best of ideas. The amn forms several tendrills and takes hold of Dragonfly and said passangers! WIth them in hand he ssurge up the side of the ship an onto the deck depositing them!

By this time someone has at least gotten Bigsby a towel or blanket to use. Poor fella! Many begin to check up on fello passangers... and well Crusader is also pulling passanger out of himself (as he did evenlope several earlier).

But what of Dragonfly? Now he was worried, could she have pushed herself to far

Dragonfly (Arazello) has posed:
Dragonfly regains a bit of consciousness. "Crusader," she whispers. "Get me out of sight. I need to heal and they don't need to see that." Her face twists in pain; her veins distending beneath her skin as something purple and dangerous flows through them. "Please, be fast, I can't last long like this."

Bigby Wolf has posed:
Bigs tries crouching down with a towel around his waist... with mixed results. Ah well, he tells himself it's the thought that counts (he tried), but his attention is on Dragonfly.

"I can still smell it," says he to anyone paying attention. "Fetch a medkit -- anythin' that'll treat sea-urchin sting... Goddamnit. Crusader -- ." He cuts off mid-sentence, hearing Dragonfly's voice, and lets out a breath.

She's still conscious enough. For now. "Yeah," says he in addition to 'Fly's instructions. "I can... understand that. Get her clear, Tin Man... I'll stay with the ship for a while." He needs to have a chat with the weather after all.

Crusader has posed:
Crusader nods to bigs and picks Dragonfly up. He shiver as he has done way more shapeshifting today than he is comfortable with. But it seems like once more is best. Flying was a shocking experince, using the boat to get far away to slow.... so time to let weight finally be useful

He jumps off the edge of the boat, forms a large sphere and *PLOP* they begin sinking down, way down into the seas depths. Please please please do not the change be too bad. They were sinking fast and getting some pretty good siatnce
