Cast of Characters: Blackout, Tigra

Blackout has posed:
Nighttime, quite late and somewhere in the inner city of Manhattan south. Still, in the city that never sleeps, people are still out and about while getting out of bars and clubs. Heading home and doinng their own things in their own little worlds. It's a perfect time for a bank to be robbed. Or so thinks Blackout who stands in the depths of a dark alleyway. Darker than most as there's a certain lingering shadow that isn't penetrated by normal illumination. Shrouded in the darkness is Blackout (who maintains that lingering shadow) who stands with his right hand to a reinforced wall. The wall is brick, but beyond the brick is 6 inches of steel plating. He wears his inky black body armor and though it cannot be seen, his eyes are closed while he focuses on the wall that his right hand is placed against.
Normal eyes cannot penetrate the darkness. However, the eyes and heightened senses of a cat, or a Tigra in this case, can surely have sight beyond sight. If she happens to look down the alleyway in passing or stalking from above, she'd see the man shrouded in black on top of more black. Who looks like he's either urinating or focusing on something untoward.

Tigra has posed:
Tigra's in the midst of licking the remnants of a hot dog from her fingers. Those corner carts are just so cheap and tasty, especially when the franks are loaded up with all sorts of condiments. If the swishing of her tail behind her is a sign, yum.

Her path brings her through the southern part of Manhattan, through one of the financial areas. Cars drive by, people mill about and chat, but there are still pockets of inactivity and relative quiet. Alleys in particular are opportune places for the seedier elements of the city to fester, waiting to inflict their rot on others.

Such is the case at the bank Blackout's selected to try breaking into. As she reaches the opening to the alley he's in, something about it just feels especially...dark, abnormal, and Tigra stops to peer into it. "Oh, gross," she mutters to herself. "Hey, there's a public toilet on the corner. Really?" Then, her eyes adjust further. This doesn't look quite right.

Blackout has posed:
In front of Blackout isn't a pee stain, however a black circle/disk opens along the bricks of the wall. The disk is 7' in diameter and has an inky blackness about it. That happens just as she confronts him. His face looks her way, however the mask is featureless except for a few contours. He looks at her for a second and without engaging her, he steps into the black hole in the building. He disappears. Though the hole remains open. His movement was hurried, wanting to avoid her, most likely.

Tigra has posed:
Fortunately, Tigra's senses tell her this isn't what it appears to be.

Unfortunately, Tigra's senses tell her this isn't what it's supposed to be.

A break-in of the bank, using very unconventional means from a shadowy figure. Did she just see him without a face? That can't be, can it? Unwritten Hero Code rules state that if you see something going down, you can't just leave it, but based on what she's seen so far she taps an earpiece and places a quick call to the police to warn them that a powered individual seems to be engaged in some lawbreaking, then she enters the alley, reaching the large opening. "All right, buddy. I know you know this isn't a visit during normal banking hours, so that withdrawal I'm pretty sure you're planning is going to have to wait."

Blackout has posed:
Standing in front of the disk, Tigra will see inky blackness beyond. But she will be able to hear footfalls on concrete so she knows that the disk is obviously a portal or a gate. Very likely into the bank itself. However, to see, she will have to penetrate the disk with her face. Beyond the footfalls, there's nothing else to hear. The footfalls aren't running, in fact they are softly treading - yet her heightened senses are quite keen on picking up such things. Also, his scent is that of a male human who has a sheen of sweat on his body. It's a warm night.

The police will be notified, and will respond presently (as there are at least 3 officers on every street corner now days).

Tigra has posed:
Except, apparently, this area. They may already be occupied in dealing with another issue, which is good timing for Blackout...for now. Tigra makes a face at what's laid out before her, sniffing warily at the dark portal. She's never dealt with something like this, and the tip of a claw probes at it to see what happens. He walked through. Maybe she could as well

Depending on what happens, it'll determine what the tigress does next. It probably wouldn't do to just leap right in and find herself in a bad way, but she might not have a choice before the guy makes off with untold amounts of money.

Blackout has posed:
There is no tactile sensation to the portal. Instead, nothingness. And nothing to touch. If she reaches in deeply enough, she'll feel the airconditioning of the room beyond. Also she'll smell the nature of the AC and dryness of the air as if drifts outward.

Tigra has posed:
Maybe the normal police would have problems with this after all. It's one reason people like Tigra exist in the first place. Sometimes, it takes someone a little above and beyond the norm to handle an issue.

After deciding this portal probably isn't going to destroy her or otherwise ruin her night - which could still happen due to other matters - she holds a breath and steps through.

Blackout has posed:
Stepping through results in her entering the bank vault proper. Just as she does, she will see him standing in the middle of the room. It's a 40x40 room with lots of palets of money sitting on them. One of the palets shifts. The portal closes behind her and another opens beneath the palet. Around 500 million dollars drops through a portal in the floor. Blackout looks up sharply at Tigra tenses. He didn't expect her to come through. He didn't even realize she was metahuman. Not until now. Not until the tail was spotted. His voice says, "Wha?" in a curious tone of surprise and he's likely about to jump into the portal in the floor chasing after the money. She's standing approximately 20 feet from him and could completely leap to him if she wanted.

Tigra has posed:
And...she does.

After figuring out where she's ended up, which seems to make sense given the place Blackout was entering (without the 'breaking and' part), it's obvious what's going on. This guy has figured out portals of some kind and is using them to help himself to a whole lot of cold, hard cash.

"Ohhhh no, pal. It's not going to be /that/ easy." And where's his face? But, the gap between them is child's play for her to cover, which Tigra does with a scrambling run forward into that leaping pounce. "Not so fast!"

Blackout has posed:
If she could see his eyes, they would be wider than saucers. His hands raise up as he steps backwards and trips over the edge of another palet falling backwards. But also right into her landing so that she'll land solidly upon his chest/thighs. Claws will easily dig into the armor that covers his body. She'll realize then his non descript face is also covered in the same black material that covers the rest of his body. He hits with a thud and then the wind is knocked out of him with her impact with an ooof.

Tigra has posed:
The lack of an expression makes it difficult for Tigra to figure out exactly what Blackout is thinking, experiencing, or even about to do. It adds a sort of unpredictability to it. She can't even see him telegraphing something unless his head moves in that direction. The claws aren't out so much to cut into him, but they do make contact with that armor, sinking in, leaving lines, or whatever the result ends up being. She's going into this blind, not sure what to expect.

"That's right. Stay down!" she says, moving so she can more or less pin multiple limbs with her own, leaving her free to aim a punch at his jaw while she has the upper hand.

Blackout has posed:
He's easy to pin. He's strong, but not as she is. Nor is he a skilled fighter. Instead, he struggles to break free. And then is punched. Pow, right in the kisser. She hits a physically harder piece of the armor when punching his face. But does indeed turn his head to the side with the strike. He doesn't look back up to her. Instead, his head remains to the side and he seems to give up or be captured. Or seems to. Instead of breaking free, a very dark disk opens beneath him (and her) and they will fall into the darkness beneath.

The darkness is vast, almost non descript, and beyond what can be seen with the human (or super human eye). There are features, some land masses or floating solids admist a sea of empty black nothing. They will however both find themselves floating, or falling. Hard to tell without reference points zipping by in one certain direction.

Tigra has posed:
Now this..is unexpected. Right as Tigra's about to haul the faceless man to his feet, the floor just drops out from under them and the two drop along with whatever else might have been caught up in it. "Whoa!"

Initially, she almost loses all hold on the man before her tail happens to wind its way around one of his ankles, and the rate of descent is difficult to fathom. However, the tail tugs her back closer so she can grab at him, eyes wide with surprise before narrowing more in anger. "What did you just do?!" she demands, in spite of the insanity of it all. "Where are we?"

Blackout has posed:
There's a scoff to his voice as he finally says something more than random expressions or gas escaping his lungs. He says, "You're in my world now."

He doesn't even bother to move or shift beneath her. Instead, he'll let the darkforce from his hands lash up onto her associated appendages. Reaching up her arm like ribbons of blackness covering through the soft tawny fur. Almost tickling with a nefarious purpose as they wrap tightly after passing over several inches. The darkforce will soon entangle her if she cannot do something about it.

Tigra has posed:
"/Your/ world?" Tigra repeats, disbelief evident in her tone. "Whatever. You asked for this." She draws back for another punch, only for the darkness to wrap around and over her hands and up her arms, doubling up on the limbs as they further ensnare her.

This coaxes another show of surprise out of the feline, who starts with a kick at his midsection, the claws out to rake across the stomach. "Let go of me!" she commands.

Blackout has posed:
He's kicked, raked and it definitely knocks the wind out of him and even knocks him back some. However, the ribbons of solid darkforce slink from his hands, over the few feet distance between them, and continue wrapping her limbs reaching up for her shoulders. His armor was damaged by her attack, even the former scratches can be noted from her initial assault. But no blood. The armor was thicker than her claws. So she'll need to continue to attack for deeper penetration and damage.

"You started this, sweetheart. And I'm gonna finish it." is his tone that comes across as annoyed, if not slightly injured. Also, she may note that there's a palet of money floating nearby. Getting traction to move to it, or move to him isn't possible. However, if she wanted to use the darkforce tendrils to pull him back to her, she is quite able to as they link the two of them together.

Tigra has posed:
The falling continues, no end yet in sight as far as that goes. There's a distance put between them that's only linked to by the tendrils that have her by the arms, now winding their way up further until both arms look more mummified in shadowy darkness than not, and Tigra finds it becoming a struggle to manipulate her hands and fingers.

"Is that what you think?" she challenges in spite of the predicament she's found herself in, seeing as well the effect of her attack. It didn't do much, but it seems possible more could be done if given the chance. After a futile leaning toward the money - and that sure is a lot - she yanks at him given the connection that exists. Time to try a headbutt, and not the kind one would expect from a cat being friendly and affectionate. Otherwise, he could wind more of that stuff around her.

Blackout has posed:
Yanked toward tigra, Blackout too suffers the lack of foundation and leverage. His body moves rapidly and then wham! Her head against the plate of his facial armor. Plate or not, the force is transferred through to his own forehead and he's knocked back again with a ughhhhhhh from his throat. The ribbons of darkness cease from being expelled and they detach. If she happened to grab him with her thighs or tail, then he could be kept in range. Otherwise, he's unmoving and will float away once again as if he's unconscious. It should also be noted that the bindings that are on Tigra's arms/hands will remain in tact. So she'll be partially limited still.

Tigra has posed:
The pair do indeed separate from the impact before either can do anything about it. Even Tigra's left partially dazed by the strike, leading to her spinning slowly out of control before she tries to right herself, drifting. She misses latching on to him, but right now she's struggling with what's left around her arms and hands. It's troublesome to get her claws at, hands having been wrapped up within the darkforce, thick enough to be an issue for her. So, she begins to bite at what appear to be dark mittens at the ends of the wraps.

Blackout has posed:
Biting, based on the sharpness of Tigra's teeth and the strength of her jaw will result in tiny chunks coming off. The entangle isn't as resistant to edged attacks as it would be to physical strength or pummeling. She will go at this for several minutes and render herself free of the bindings. However, something else that should be noted, Blackout has drifted out of sight and she can no longer see the money palet. So that too has faded due to distance. Though, distance is relative because of the absolute darkness of the region. Even though she can still see herself, there's no true light source.

Tigra has posed:
Having spent some time to get her hands free, Tigra continues to drift and float, destination unknown, but she can now pick and pluck at what's left of the wraps. However, the drawback is she can no longer see anyone else. Wherever Blackout's gone, her senses aren't giving her any clues. For all she knows, he could have left this realm, whatever it is, or he could be somewhere watching her. What's more disconcerting is she's found no end yet to it. A frustrated but muted roar escapes her lips.

Blackout has posed:
Then out of nowhere, there is a sudden draft of air as she will feel a drag upon her body toward an opening portal which she can see out of. The portal will open to a rooftop where she will fall backwards toward. If she doesn't use her cat-like reflexes and cat-like ability to land on her feet, she will surely fall upon her bum. The roof is 30 feet below the portal that is opening and sucking her out into the real world.

Tigra has posed:
The light, even at night, is more prevalent than whatever's in the place Tigra's been drifting through. It's something for her to latch on to, to reach out for, but the height could be dangerous to someone not like her. Indeed, with a twist and a flexible landing, the cat-woman touches down as softly as she possibly can but even that kind of fall requires a forward roll to prevent snapping or twisting anything. From a crouched position, she glares up at the portal in obvious frustration. By now, the police are arriving at the bank, sure to find a large sum of money missing.

Blackout has posed:
The portal closes while she watches. Leaving Tigra to her own devices as Blackout is no where to be seen and clearly not trifling with her at the moment.
