Waterfront Rescue
Date of Scene: 31 August 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: The heroes arrive at the port, encountering henchment guarding a warehouse. On the approach, they are challenged by Mammoth and Shimmer, who duel with Wonder Girl and then withdraw, while others sneak into the warehouse, just as Damian effects his own escape. Inside, they discover Doctor Light seemingly in charge, though he bickers with Ravager. The team engages, with Colette and Kaelyn destroying some of the power-dampening machinery within while battling Light as he draws power from Cassie's lasso, lashing out with powerful attacks. Cassie meets Ravager's sword to give Damian an opening, and then Light seemingly destroys him with much of the rest of the building before being subdued. Saving a falling Wonder Girl and taking Light into custody, the group escapes, with Ravager seemingly the only casualty of the incident.
Cast of Characters: Deathstroke, Red Robin, Wonder Girl, Stardust, Kaelyn Silverleaf, Robin (Wayne), Skylark

Deathstroke has posed:
Its late in the night at Port Newark, one of the largest commercial shipping ports in the Tri-State area. Three miles long even without counting the attached industrial parks, rail yards, and truck depots - nevermind the adjacent airport - it is a massive sprawl of warehouses, parking lots, and acres of corrugated steel shipping containers stacked high in rows. The latter form a maze of artificial canyons, sometimes in the moonlit shadow of the towering frames of mobile industrial cranes.

Night is the choice (aside from the obvious preference of the Bat-clan) because during the day, there's a fairly high degree of mortal security throughout the premises. Although corruption runs rampant, there is much political to-do over the threat of arms and drug trafficking, let alone terrorism, favorite drum-banging topics in the Underwood era. In addition to port police and customs, many of the terminals, warehouses and lots are owned by the companies that operate them, and these employ private security as well.

The former provide little difficulty for the heroes to negotiate but the latter provide an excuse for their enemies to militarize their own section of pier. There's a long fence, high and barbwire-topped though otherwise unremarkable, a mere deterrent for kids snooping around. Beyond it, even in the dark, the patrols are visible, wandering amidst a large lot of looming container-lanes. These are not police, not rent-a-cops. They carry themselves with professional, military bearing, and bear high-tech weapons. Beyond this area are a single large warehouse building and a single docked container ship.

Red Robin has posed:
Red Robin doesn't need to arrive on the scene due to the fact that he's already nearby. He's been here for a while, doing recon and perhaps even setting up a few things for later. He's always staying ahead of the game as much as possible. He's been stealthy as he's learned from his mentor and more importantly, he's been clocking the patrols timing them, scanning things and getting more things added into his computer to stay a few dozen steps ahead. Of what's about to happen and maybe even of his Titans.

Red Robin has to put in more work than the others and he's okay with that. It makes him better. It makes him useful. It makes him a hero.

Crouched upon one of the buildings from the location that has been chosen for this particular mission, he focuses the lenses in his mask to check out a few more things before tossing words across the secured Titans communications network. "Alright, Titans. What's everybody's status? Is everyone in position?" Red Robin's all about tactics and strategy. Thus why he'd probably made sure to give everyone the suggestion of where they should be in relation to their mission tonight. It'll just make things easier should there be some bad news.

Red Robin, of course, will be attempting to focus on Stealth and Misdirection.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark, also known as the second Wonder Girl, is not big on skulking around the dockside and ambushing thugs. That's all very much in the bat style, and it's just not how she rolls. But helpfully, she can fly, so she's avoided most of the ground patrols by flying far above. Though her costume is not far from normal clothing, she has her lasso hanging on her belt, her bracers on her arms, and has even brought the sword and shield Diana and her sisters have been instructing her to use, the latter strapped on her back. Basically? She's ready for action.

"I'm in position overhead," she answers back on their handy team radios. "Stardust's with me. Figure out your approach, and as soon as you hit trouble, we'll come screaming out of the sky." Scanning things a bit, she can't help but offer the obvious: "If they're patroling outside, anyone wanna bet they've got the real show in the warehouse? If you really need, I can force us a hole in that thing."

Stardust has posed:
Stardust: Junior Titan? Ally? Someone who just likes mooching pizzas at the Tower? Maybe all three. Mostly, unknown quantity. She has however answered the call. Kid-ninja has been kidnapped. He's been nice to her. The calculus is simple.

Her costume seems to change every day. Today, a two-piece of leggings and midriff-baring top, a full-face mask with dark lenses. However it changes it keeps the same colors, muted pale grays and whites. Not ideal for stealth, though the faint shimmer it sometimes has seems to dim on occasions like this. For the moment though, she is well out of sight, perched high on a rooftop, close to Cassie, and half hidden behind a water tank. Where she is struggling with unfamiliar hardware.

"Ummm? Hello?" she whispers. "Is this thing working?" Secure communications are best if you are familiar with the radio. "I'm in position. Uh. Can you hear me or not? Did I press the right button? When do we move in? It's kinda boring up here, and this rooftop smells. I think someone's been living up here. Also there's a dead bird. Yuck."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Not too terribly far away is well, Kae. She's shrouded her self in her own version of an invisibility cloak, and she's sitting on a broom now, some several hundred feet off the ground. Now she's just got it set up so that she can't be seen from below as she silently glides in over the harbor... Kae also has in her palm her pad, which she is using to try and get her 'bugs' to give her as much inteligence on the area as possible. As she notices some rooftops, the woman spirals down to one of them, the broom moving along silently before she finally touches down. She then shifts the coverage of her cloak now, pulling it about her self, and really now just barely having her masked face, eyes and hands with the pad exposed...

Kae glances down at the pad, the woman tilting her head as her bugs pick up on voices? She smiles a bit as Colette's voice is picked up by the bug and what they say is relayed to her earbud-styled headphones. She settles at the edge of one of the bulidings watching her pad's screen and occasionally looking over at the gate she spotted the last time she was here. "Wonder if the Bat got my message..." She mutters quietly while trying to use the construct insects she made to surveil the place to get a better picture of what's going on. Meanwhile she tugs her broom up beside her, the shaft almostpeeking over the edge of the buildng, but well not, the head level with the toe of one of her boots.

Red Robin has posed:
There are some issues with the communication. He's going to have to set aside a time to teach the new Titans on the block how to communicate when in the field. "Understood." is said to both Cassie and Colette because that's just easier to do. And with a leap off the building, the Red Robin is nowhere to be found.

That is, of course, until he appears in the air above a couple of those fools on patrol. He drops out of the sky, the sound of a zipline retracting heard as he does, but his landing is as soft and quiet as if he wasn't just there. Granted, they can only be seen for a moment as there is a quick cloud of smoke that appears, surrounding him and the patrol types. When the smoke clears, though, both of the patrol types are bound and unconscious, their weapons are dismantled or broken and there's no sign of the vigilante hero that just trounced upon them.

"Be ready." comes across the Titans frequency. Either be ready for Red Robin's signal... or, y'know, the sound of gunfire.

Deathstroke has posed:
The guards go down, though even in t he smoke, even blind, they're still able to cough and maybe briefly cry out. The Red Robin does his work well, and they go down quickly. But the men do have radios of their own. Perhaps Robin has even monitored the frequencies, and knows just how frequently they check in. Whether they were able to signal in those few seconds... who can say? But even if they didn't everything is surely on a timer now, as their absence is noted, as other patrols move to check in, as, piece by piece, the plan, like every plan, begins to unravel upon contact with the enemy. Thread by thread, stuff goes to shit. That's just the way things work.

The fliers have confirmation of this soon enough, patrols turning, moving in sweeping patterns. At first the adjustments may seem minor, but their state of alert is only likely to grow. Most notable is a figure striding out the front of the warehouse with a few smaller figures in tow. He's... big. No armored ninja, this one.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Once Cassie sees the Red Robin moving below, and the chain-reaction it seems to set off, she figures that's good enough. Even if she's designated air support and not the skulky kind, well, there's a lot of badguys down there! Plus there's a certain advantage to watching them from above, seeing their movements play out from that bird's eye vantage point. So she watches as Robin zips and darts among the containers, leaps off to disable a patrol. She also sees the others start to scramble, turning from one row of containers down toward the next, closing on his position. "You got company Red, uh, coming from your right at the next junction and another... crap there's a lot of them."

Although she's confident in Robin being able to outmaneuver some of them, she's not going to risk it again all the guys. So with the tremendous speed she's capable of, the girl drops from the sky like a bolt, one second far above, nearly the next swooping down into one of those 'steel canyons' and clobbering an armed man in the same motion. There's two, though, and spinning to strike the second, well, he doesn't get off more than a gasp, but the quickess required doesn't allow for subtelty and her strike sends him flying bodily into the container.

There's a thud, and a deeper metallic echo that follows, like ringing a really BIG bell with a soft, human-shaped ringer.

Stardust has posed:
Up on her rooftop perch, Stardust... has found an old book, amongst a bundle of bedding, presumably the property of the aforementioned rooftop resident. It's pretty curious, an old battered copy of a translation of an 18th century treatise on bushido. She leafs through it curiously for a few moments before remembering there's a job to do. With a sigh, she puts the book down where she found it and walks to the edge of the roof, peering out to monitor the situation. There are a few too many guards moving around now... has something gone awry?

Stardust looks up to Cassie to follow her lead, and seeing her move in to reduce the patrol-count, she determines to do the same. Flitting through the air to the far side of Robin's position than Cassie had taken, she drops soundlessly out of the sky behind two of the guards who walk close to each other. She grins broadly to herself as she drifts along behind them, and holds her arms up, wriggling her fingers as she picks her moment. There's a dull thud as two skulls are knocked together, and before the guards have time to drop to the floor, Stardust grabs one in each hand and vanishes into the sky with them.

A few moments later, Stardust returns to her rooftop. Before returning to the edge to look for more targets, she drops a pile of guard's clothing onto the rooftop inhabitant's bedding. The guards she left, unconscious, on a different roof. They'll have an embarrassing climb down when they wake up.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks and watches the Titans go to work. The girl then smiles a bit and hops up on her broom now, letting the thing carry her back up into the air and then zip forward. At this point she also has her clockworks to converge on the place as the young woman studies the guard's movement patterns from the air, while she sets her little clockwork bugs on a search pattern of their own, looking for that place that damaged the last one. Kae tilts her head now spotting now the really big fellow. Kae glances around and looks for another high spot to land on, now lifting the tip of the broom up with her foot resting on the gathered clump at the top of the straw section of the broom, the girl's other foot off it while she studies the group.

She whispers a bit to her self, casting a little cantrip of sorts, trying to project her voice to the Titans below and relay what she is seeing from her vantage point. "Kaelyn here, I can pick up what you're saying, just speak normal. Anyway folks you have them on alert, there's patrols who have about-faced and are heading in your direction, 2x2 sweeping pattern. There's also a giant of a person coming out of the warehouse, looks like a human mountain.."

Deathstroke has posed:
Down between the containers, Wonder Girl loses her aerial superiority and her view of oncoming danger. She might have seen the group moving from the warehouse, but she loses sight of them dealing with the guards. She also definitely made a bunch of noise, and if they weren't alerted before (it sort of seemed like they were) well, they are now! Unbeknownst to her, the group moving from the warehouse heads right in her direction - although Stardust may see them as she flies by with some of her captive guards. This means trouble inbound for Red Robin and Wonder Girl, but also, less foes guarding the building.

And in all of this, where is the masked ninja who leads them?

Kaelyn will find the interference affects her bugs as it did before, and indeed as she physically passes into the area, closer to the warehouse, will begin to feel it in her own head, a crackling like static combined with a low-grade migrane. And suddenly, her magic feels... just a little bit weightier, harder to concentrate on, more difficult to use.

Several of them do send warnings toward Wonder Girl and Robin, of the incoming group. It's warning enough to be ready, but not enough to escape: As they negotiate the metal passages, and perhaps Cassie sails back toward open sky, there's a heavy metallic CLANG. One of the rows goes toppling into the heroine, the containers pitched over the young woman as the massive figure at the lead of the group leaps up atop them with a roar.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Only pausing to check in with Robin once she's downed the patrol, Cassie's next move is skyward. "Two down, still more moving in- I'm going up again." And up she goes, even as Kaelyn pops in on their radio to warn her. "Yeah I saw them I- oshit!"

That's all she manages before the whole pile of shipping containers come crashing down on her head. It may, momentarily, look bad for the young heroine... aw, who are we kidding here? She's Wonder Girl. Dumping a couple tons of metal on her head is only just enough to get her mad. Still, there is silence beneath the containers, until one of them flies upward and rolls from the pile, no doubt crashing into others, maybe dominos style. This definitely just got loud.

From beneath the opened space, Cassie soars up out of the pile, fist-first at the brute. "Nice beard, you overgrown hipster!"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
A stirring deep in the lair, Damian had woke up, immediately struggling against his bonds. The youngest Robin had been attempting a breakout ever since he had first regained consciousness. Without the use of his hands, he couldn't manipulate his mask.

Guards all around had started to make a ruckus, listening to their comms and running towards doors and readying their weapons. Damian could only smirk, he knew it was time to move.

Stripped of his utility belt, not that he would be able to use it. Robin started to attempt his latest escape attempt. Flexing his forearm, a small probe extends from his index finger, and the teenage escape artist began to probe at the seam of his right cuff. A nearby scientist had been next to Damian, which the assassin made sure to not let get suspicious. CLANG!

Very gently, the cuff gives way. Damian's lenses had widened slightly, keeping his cool while he retracted the pick back inside his glove. The diminutive menace had started working on the other hand while everyone seemed distracted.

Stardust has posed:
The crash of collapsing containers is hard to miss. Stardust has lost track of the exact position of her fellow Titans, but it's an easy guess at least one of them is going to be where the big noise is coming from. Time to head on over there.

Or maybe not. It seems like everyone is heading over there, and the best plan is surely to split up the enemy. Two can play a the making-a-noise game. Stardust swoops over to the far end of the compound, slipping in between two tall stacks of containers. Wedging herself in place, she starts to push...

A lot of straining and a couple of inches of movement later, Stardust sighs and stops. She's strong, but she's not Cassie strong. She heads up to the top of the stacks, and knocks on a couple of containers until she finds an empty one. This she is able to push a lot more easily, and soon there's an almighty crash as two tons of empty steel box fall to the ground from a couple of dozen feet up. She quickly moves to the next stack over, and lies flat to wait for the arrival of mooks.

"Robin? Cassie? Uh... Kaelyn?" Stardust whispers into her radio, hoping that the radio-less magician can indeed also hear. "There's a container ship the far side. Maybe he's in there? I could go and like attack it while people are busy out front? Someone say something if that's a bad idea, otherwise I'm doing it."

Deathstroke has posed:
Within the warehouse, the noise without definitely distracts the men inside the warehouse. Indeed, the suspicious scientist working near Damian already seemed somewhat lost in his own world and not as focused on the boy, likely readily underestimating him- the man had a sort of superior attitude about him. But with that CRASH from without, he turns to start shouting orders, berating the men into action. And so, cuff by cuff, his young charge begins to loose himself.

Back outside, Mammoth takes one on the chin from the flying blonde, staggering back... but only a step, hardly as much as she might have expected. He's tough, this one. "That's cute, little girl." So in return, atop the tilted container, he lunges into her. Though not especially fast, his arms give him reach, snatching at her before she can fly out of reach, snagging a leg at the last second. And then, perhaps to her surprise, he swings her around like a rag-doll, over his head and flat into the container on the other side of him.

That's how you ring a bell! And the sound is echoed again, over where Colette decides to push over a pile of containers.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is shaking her head a bit, trying to clear it as she drifts her broom now over probably close to cassie, the woman settling on a particularly high location. Kae then whispers "Magic's getting hard to do 'round here, something's throwing out a lot of interfearance... I'll help you where I can Stardust." She says, no she doesn't have the radio, but she can still do this little minor cantrip... She then frowns and tugs her phone out of her pocket, setting the thing up to handle the talking for her for now as she begins using her phone as her radio, letting the app link it in with the Titan's frequency... not that Kae's phone is a normal phone and all. She then speaks... "Listen if we can find yer boy, and get this interfearance cut off I can help you get out with em..." She says, again shaking her head. "Hate headaches." She mutters, before she stashes her broom in her backpack... She then summons that enchanted hammer of hers and glances around her, trying to see into the Arcane.. "Wonder if they've got some wards or some such set up interfearing..." She mutters before moving up to see if she can get with Stardust.

Wonder Girl has posed:
OW.

Cassie hits the metal hard. If she were a normal girl, she'd have broken bones, maybe ruptured organs. Being Wonder Girl, she leaves a Wonder Girl-shaped dent in the top of the container. It dazes her briefly, but rather than just stumble to her feet immediately, she plays upon the big man's aggression and her own perceived... weakness? Not that anyone tends to assume she's weak, but big men like him do tend to underestimate women barely a third their size. So she lets him lumber close, while gripping her lasso and preparing to strike out. When he gets near enough, she does, kicking out with both feet and then launching into the air with the same motion. If she gets any distance from him, she whips her lasso after his figure.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust moves into action as the first couple of guards arrive to investigate the fallen container. She swoops down, grabs, and flies up again. One guard drops his gun in surprise, the other attempts to twist around to get his gun on her. She gives that one a vigorous shake. "Are you stupid? I'm holding you up. You really want to fall to your death?" The guard peers down at the ground, moving rapidly beneath them, then up again, ashen-faced. Stardust cants her head, then grins at him. "There. We're over water now, fire away." She does not however wait for the bullets, letting the two guards drop into the sea, before sweeping off over the water towards the container ship.

Hidden by the bulk of the warehouse, Stardust's arrival at the container ship can be detected best by the sounds of gunfire from that direction. At first quite a bit, but steadily declining until it's the sound of occasional pot-shots. It seems to be getting almost peaceful there, right until the rear of the warehouse lights up and there's a loud explosion.

Stardust swims out of the water and clambers up onto the dock, dripping wet. She looks behind her to the ship, where a fierce fire has broken out at one point on the deck, then turns back to look at the rear of the warehouse. She wrings seawater out of her hair, and shakes her hands dry, sighing. "Uh. So," she says into the radio. "I think they're arms dealers or something. That boat is full of... interesting stuff. However, I think I've found a way into the warehouse from here."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
His green gloved finger bends downward, and the process begins again. A small twitch to the right, a little forward. clack Robin Smirked with self satisfaction.

Damian now had to break the bonds on his legs, which he'd already started working on. "Hey. Yeah, you. Do me a favor huh?" He called out to the scientist, laying the bait to call the man over. When he came close enough...SMACK!! two fists pummel him on the jaw, reaching for some keys to break free.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae mutters quietly as she gets closer to Stardust and umms before suggesting "Magical interfearance is coming from that warehouse over there... That's what they're trying to keep magicians and mages and probably other things from seeing... " She suggests and glances over toward the warehouse... "Before I can do much more for y'all I'm going to have to get in there and get that shut down, otherwise it's just my artifacts doing anything and that limits what I can do for ya..." She says with a slight smirk and shakes her head again. She then reaches into one of her hip pouches, and tugs out a small baggie. This actually has something that looks like ground up bark? Kae takes a bit of that and slips it under her tongue.. "White willow bark, great for helping with headaches... It's what asperin is based on." she informs, then turns toward the warehouse...

"I can't help much without unfettered access to magic.." She says and smiles a bit... Speaking over the radio evidently as Stardust just handles a pair of mooks... Of course not flying and all, Kae then glnaces toward the warehouse now and begins winding her way toward it. As she stumbles across one of the mooks, well litterally bumps into him, she blinks and offers a smile. "I'm lost can you help me sugah?" As he raises his rifle and aproaches her. Kae raises one of her hands... He growls at her a bit telling her to raise the other, and when he's close enough she does, and kind of swipes it to the side, that hammer in hand. As it contacts the fellow there's a dull flash of light as the hammer magnifies the force of her swing exponetially and spreads it over his entire body to at least keep from knocking a hole in him. Instead it sends the mook flying off to the side, and he ends up burried under tarps from the swing... Kae winces an eye twitching as she mutters "Well better than outright casting a spell she mutters, as she looks at the bracelet she uses to store extra magic.. "Gonna have to use you I think." she mutters and taps the gemstone, "Lets hope bringing a little bit of home with me helps." And the redhead now begins jogging toward the warehouse.

Skylark has posed:
While the Mammoth of a man looms menacingly over the young heroes, casting a long reaching shadow that threatens to drown them in darkness, out from behind him hops a smaller figure -- a masked leather clad woman all in black with short red hair. Just in time too, before her big brother goes toe-to-toe with Wonder Girl. For the briefest of moments, she stands tall and straight atop a toppled container and simply surveys the area. She then moves like a predator on the prowl with each languid step, her arms outstretched at her sides and already aglow in anticipation with what's to come.

With her brother in Wonder Girl's grasp, Shimmer grits her teeth as she growls, "Do you dare touch my brother, Wonder Freak?" With Shimmer, herself, being totally outclassed by the young, blonde heroine, there is something in which she can do. Thinking quickly, she reaches to place a flat palm onto the base of the containers on which Mammoth and Wonder Girl do battle on and in that instance, the entire structure begins to change and shift, the solid form of each connected container slowly becoming a thick, sticky, possibly even corrosive, liquid, making the ground which the young heroine stands upon all the more treacherous now."

Deathstroke has posed:
Notably, there are large bay doors into the warehouse from the water side as well, a sensible thing when you're unloading cargo from ships! They're on a vehicle scale, like hangar doors, though Colette is strong enough to open them that way if she likes. She might also spy a side door of more human size on one of the sides not facing the water, marked as some kind of office.

Atop the containers, no one had ever, in his entire life, accused Mammoth of being clever. He sees Cassie go down as hard as she does, sees her play dead, and assumes that he's won - or at least seriously stunned her, and moves in to finish her. For this, he receives a powerful two-legged kick to his middle, Wonder Girl's leverage against the container providing additional force. Even the big man goes flying. A moment later, Cassie is up, and spinning out with her lasso, which much like he did with her earlier, snags the man around the ankle... just as the container begins to melt beneath her.

All of this seems to mean little opposition to those stalking toward the Warehouse however, while inside, Damian strikes his captor and nabs his keys. The man staggers back, physically none too impressive, yet... "How dare you strike me, you impudent little whelp? Do you know who I am?" He raises a hand.

Suddenly, even outside the warehouse, shining through every window, his power is revealed as night becomes brighter than any day: "I AM DOCTOR LIGHT!"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Once Cassie sends Mammoth flying and lassos him, she starts to whip him around, probably to slam him into something, very much a bit of dishing out what she took earlier. But as the metal collapses under her, this whole plan goes south. Her feet start sinking into the melting metal, and her instinct is to fly, though enough of it is stuck to her that she pulls a lot of the container with her, the whole thing stretching out in a weird, gooey fashion.

In her panic, she commands the noose at the end of her lasso to slacken, letting Mammoth sail wherever he does, rather than fully swinging him around into something, and instead whips the rope around toward one of the arms of the big industrial crane above. Catching on, she pulls, trying to use that extra leverage to drag herself out of the mire, almost like someone using a rope to pull themselves out of a quicksand pit in the movies.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust stands by the office door at the rear of the warehouse, examining it carefully. She smiles to herself, and places a hand over the lock. She concentrates, and soon the metal starts heating up. Shouldn't take too long to melt the lock this way. Gotta keep stealthy.

(What the $*#! am I doing?)Oo Stardust thinks to herself. oO(It's way too late for stealthy...) Instead she just kicks the door in. Compared to crashing containers and exploding explosives, it almost counts as stealthy.

"Kaelyn? I'm in." Stardust peers in through the doorway, trying to get her bearings. "Do you have any kind of idea where in the... whatever thingy that's interfering is? Or, you know, what it is? I might be able to take it out for you if I know what I'm looking for."

Then, the sudden flare of light from within. Behind her lenses Stardust squeezes her eyes shut, then blinks a few times. "Shiny," she comments, as she barges into the office beyond, moving fast and prepared to plow her way through whatever happens to be inside.

Deathstroke has posed:
The warehouse has a typically vast structure, its single interior space accessed by wide bay doors on either end (one side adjacent to the water), with a small office sub-building built against one wall with its own small exterior door. A catwalk circles and criss-crosses the second story of the space, presumably to allow workers better access to stacked materials when the warehouse is full. As it is, the space is more empty than not, save for some particular equipment:

In each corner of the building, a square metal crate has been opened on all sides, flowering to reveal a large device within. Each has extended an antena above it, and these crackle with arcs of blue electric-like energy. Each also has typically enclosed container beside them, with some heavy-duty cables running within. In the center, a platform has been constructed of metal scaffolding, accessible either by one set of metal stairs attached to it or from the catwalks above, which are at level with the platform. Atop it, another device has been assembled, with more uncertain gadgetry at the base and extending into a man-sized 'Y'-shaped frame. Beside this, freed from cuffs that once held him to the frame, but which he has seemingly succeeded in freeing himself from, is the young Damian Wayne.

A figure with a white lab-coat stands beside Damian on the platform, a brightly glowing hand held aloft, filling the room with a terrible glare. Naturally, the catwalks are full of mooks with guns, although who's to say if they can even see what's going on while Dr. Light grandstands.

Deathstroke has posed:
"Oh, shut up, Doc."

As the flash fills the warehouse, Damian hears a voice above, somewhere in the catwalks. "All your grandstanding aside, you let the little brat get one over on you, and now he's loose, while his friends are tearing up the place outside. And *you're* the one they send to 'oversee' things?"

"Quiet! I'll not be talked down to by some 2nd-rate soldier for hire! The Group brought in myself and Meta Solutions precisely because you weren't up to the job! Look how you've botched it! They're all here!"

"Yes, that was idea. And your people were supposed to help me catch them all. But it seems like I'll have to do much of that myself."

Ah, villainous infighting.

Outside, Mammoth goes sailing, flying a good distance free of the combat, while Cassie pulls herself up out of the mire, dangling on her lasso, with Shimmer below. Those approaching the warehouse have not been further challenged, and merely see the enemies arrayed within - or well, mostly they see Light's bright glowing hand.

Skylark has posed:
Mammoth's landing may not have been a graceful one, but to Shimmer's relief, her brother is free! She longs to check up on him, her eyes peering off into the distance in which he had landed, but the Wonder One was getting away! Unfortunately, for our (un)fair super villainess, her prey was already out of reach. In a last ditch effort, she turns the entire mass of melting goo into a poisonous gas, the fumes rising higher as the last tendrils lick at the young heroine's feet.

Without even knowing whether she was able to keep the Titan distracted or not, the nefarious red head runs to meet up with her brother and to regroup. "Baran! We may have been breached." She obviously isn't speaking of herself and her brother, but the commotion going on in the warehouse has now got her attention. That said, her gaze returns back to Wonder Girl. The bold heroine will either come back for them or make her way towards the warehouse as well. Either way, Shimmer prepares to defend herself first.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae is well behind Stardust... "Uhh, stealthy." She says, massaging her temples. Then notices the sparky thing in the corners, her astral sight picking up on them like spotlights... "Starlight.." she says quietly, break the things in the corner, or bust the thing they're transmitting to." says the woman.. "If you can get more than one that's all the better, I'm going to try and get one my self while Dr Light makes everything stupid bright..." she frowns at the doodads and grips her hammer tight and tugs a few of her artificed rings from a pocket... "These were made for something else, meh, I'll deliver on time or late instead of early..." She then tugs her cloack up over her self, hoping it can at least do a semblance of hiding what with the interfearance.. "Soon gonna need a new cloak after this... "Grab me some time Stardust." she says and makes her way toward one of the corners.

Wonder Girl has posed:
With the metallic goo turning into sickly fumes beneath her, Cassie starts to cough, covers her mouth, and flies higher. There's an impulse of anger, to strike out at the woman who intervened, but she can't see her well through the fumes, nor does she want to fly back through them to take the most immediate approach. And so, as sister unites with brother, her own gaze indeed turns toward the light show at the warehouse. "Seeya, jerks!" With that, she again loosens her lasso, commands it to coil back, and then turns to jet toward the warehouse at full speed. "Titans, you there? I got ambushed and couldn't- But I'm coming in!"

And guess what? Those massive front warehouse doors?

KNOCK KNOCK, here comes Wonder Girl!

Stardust has posed:
"We're in the back Cass!" Stardust responds. "We're coming in too. Pincer movement. Tactics. Cool, huh?" She turns and grins to Kaelyn. "Ready? Good. I'll distract, you do... whatever you do." Grabbing a heavy metallic file cabinet on her way through the office, Stardust bursts into the main interior space, flying. Peering through the blurry flare of her lenses, she raises the cabinet to hurl at the nearest mook, then changes her mind and aims it at mister shiny-hands. Then the voice speaks out from above, and she aims that way instead, but she can't quite make out the target there. Finally she remembers what Kaelyn said, and hurls it, as hard as she can, at the nearest of the four devices crackling with blue energy in the corners.

Without waiting to see the effect on the device, Stardust flies up to join Damian, and interpose herself between him and any bullets that might be about to be fired in his direction. "SHUT UP EVERYONE!" she yells. "You had a ship outside full of explosives. It's going to blow in just under three minutes. We're leaving. I suggest you do too."

Is she bluffing? What exactly was she doing on that ship? Just exactly how much explosives are on it? Yes, she's bluffing, but not even her fellow Titans know that.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
A quick hand reaches up to his mask, covering his eyes for the moment. "You obviously don't know who -I- am, you myopic excuse for a villain. I'm Robin, Son of Batman!" It didn't matter if he could see or not, Damian could fight without seeing. Then out harked another voice. "-Please- tell me you're a better adversary than this glorified flare gun." He seethed just a bit, holding his side a bit, right where he was stabbed. No matter, if he had to fight, he was going to fight.

"It's about godd@&*+ time you all showed up." He offers to the familiar voice of Colette. He looked for his belt and katana, wherever those had absconded to.

Deathstroke has posed:
In a moment, the group will discover that the henchmen can indeed see through the glare, their helmets having goggles or visors of whatever sort. So there's no stealth any more, and things become an all out chaotic brawl:

Gunfire rains down from the catwalks in every direction as the two women may attempt to move for the machines in the corner. More than that, Light himself strikes out, ignoring the 'whelp' still nearby him and letting the original lightburst fade as he swings his arm around to strike out at the heroes with lances of pure concentrated brilliance, normal light becoming intense lasers under his command. He blasts at Kaelyn first, and then sweeps the beam toward Colette, carelessly cutting a catwalk support in the process - although with just one, it remains intact.

From above, the other voice answers him. "Come up here and see, little bat. I'll give you another hole, if you like." Though, in the interim, Ravager shows off his marksmanship, taking steadier aim on Colette with a rifle, and firing. The bullets are prometheum-laced, far more dangerous than what the other men are using!

And then, at the end of all this, the front warehouse doors BURST open, the massive things thrown off their hinges as Cassie bursts in. One actually swings far enough to crash into one of the machines, destroying it instantly. The other hits part of the catwalk, sending hencmen tumbling, supports straining. In short, it's chaos. Surely Damian can find his gear in all that insanity.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Once she bursts in, Cassie is not messing around. Surely pissed off by the duo outside (that she had to fight by herself, thankyouverymuch!) she arrives on a scene of pure chaos and violence. And in return, she holds back little, for a moment displaying what exactly the daughter of a God can do.

Veering off in her flight, she skims across one of the catwalks, knocking henchmen from it as she goes, sweeping them away like nothing. Some do manage to turn weapons on her, only to be met by raised bracers, deflecting the shots, sometimes right back at them. Her full-force course sends her right for the man seemingly leading them from above - from her perspective, Damian is right beside light, so honor duels aside, she goes for the guy with a freaking sniper rifle trained on her teamate. Because that shit is just not going to fly.

Thus the endpoint of her barreling aerial charge is Ravager himself, fist outheld like she were freaking Supergirl. It's cool, they're friends.

Stardust has posed:
"Are you all stupid?" Stardust yells out, as gunfire erupts all around. "Two and a half minutes now! You're all going to die!" At first she stays close to Damian, shielding him from the gunfire so he has time to get moving, but when Doctor Light starts firing laser beams, she moves into action. Closing the distance as the first laser bolt targets Kaelyn, then ducking down and flying below the swept beam that targets her. She pulls her fist back and takes a swing straight at Doctor Light, just as Ravager fires at her.

She's moving rapidly and unpredictably, so she's no easy target but the Ravager is an expert shot. The bullet bounces away as if it has hit her, but the effects on her are not what would be expected. Instead of being thrown back, she freezes in place, not even a hair moving, as if time itself has stopped for her.

And stays that way.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
There's one thing about many magi that folks don't allways know. Many are in extremely good shape, they have to be in order to survive the rigors of their craft. As it is, Kae sees that beam of light swinging right at her and dives underneath it, the girl skidding across the concrete, before coming up and rolling behind a heavy box, which eats up a number of bullets. Kae winces, holding her shoulder now, a burn on it, and mutters.. "Didn't even hit me and it burned." She says and glances at her cloak.. IT's ripping across its surface but failing to bend light around it.. "Well that would explain..." Then some of the pressure from her mind. She then grins as a number of guns land nearby.. "A lil magic.." she mutters and uses a spell to pull a couple assault rifles her way. As they arrive in her hand she holds her head, massaging her temples... "Better.." she mutters, her nose bleeding a little bit before she sniffles. She then pops out of her cover, and no not to shoot at one of the guys on a catwalk, instead she fires on one of the machines in the corner.

Kae is a Texas girl afterall, and after taking aim, maybe not expert, but definately familiar with the operation of an AR, she fires, sending a burst into one of the machines in the corner. The girl wincing at the recoil on that wounded shoulder of hers before she empties the rifle. Then her gun is emptied and she's throwing her hands up as mooks fire on her. This time the rounds strike the now cast wards from the woman, her bracelet glowing brightly now as the girl feeds it power while the wards arc and hiss from the impacting rounds. Kae also hisses now, one eye partially closed at the biting in the back of her mind.

Kae's green eyes now swivel to Dr Light and she begins whispering, that voice somehow audible even through the din of combat.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian jumps up, flipping backwards and attempting to find his missing gear. The belt is big and golden, not so hard to find. A fast click and he's nearly whole again.

And there it was...as if nothing had ever happened to it, the katana that had been his for years, at least it was still around.

Robin reaches for his grapple gun, taking aim and firing. He's got one target on his mind, and that was Ravager. Keep moving, and maintain the speed advantage. Damian already has hand to the hilt of the sword on his back.

Deathstroke has posed:
Light, admittedly, looks frigthened when he sees Colette bearing down on him. Raising a hand, he starts to form some sort of field of energy, though who knows if he can do so fast enough- but then Colette simply freezes in the air in front of him as that shot connects. "Peculiar," the man remarks, and even reaches out to touch her. "I would love to put this one in the machine! Surely she has more to share with us than the boy's brain-patterns and whatever remnants of the Pit's-" Ah. And then he realizes maybe he shouldn't be dialoguing all this info in front of the heroes! Plus, what was she saying about the ship earlier? He looks conflicted, or maybe worried. And where did the boy...? Nope, he's already gone.

And as Light looks around, it strikes him just how poorly things really are going. After Colette's earlier cabinet missing him and striking another one of the machines, and Kaelyn shooting another into oblivion, it's down to only one left. The man looks nervous, and begins to make for the rear entrance, although at the same time defends the final remaining generator, forming a light shield over one hand while blasting back at the magician with another laser.

Damian's grapple, meanwhile, brings him rapidly to the catwalk, just as Cassie fist-flies her way in. His solution is to flip clear of his prior position and back onto a narrow support, letting Cassie stop herself from hitting Damian while he ditches the rifle for close-up options, his single remaining sword, while with the other hand, he pulls some syringe from a pocket, and jams it into his shoulder, just below the neck. "With more of the serum, I'm easily a match for both of you!"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie has to do just that, veering up as her otherwise mega-punch now finds itself heading right for Damian, standing in Ravager's prior position. She pulls back and goes comically end-over-end in the air with the effort of it, the girl not *quite* the master of aerial acrobatics that her big-sister mentors are. Still, as Ravager injects himself with more, she rights herself and gives a little nod to her teamate beside her, while reaching for her lasso again. "Let's do this, short stuff."

She moves in first, perhaps simply owing to her unnatural speed, but more likely because ultimately, between the two of them, she is both uninjured and far more resilient. It's protective, in a way, her becoming the big sister to her teamate in the way Diana and Donna were to her. She goes in hard, straight at first but then veering off, not bound to the strut the man is balancing on, and thus looping around through the air to flank and confuse him, giving Damian more options to attack. Opening strikes with his sword are met with her bracer to parry, and when she's swung around far enough, she whips out with the lasso.

Stardust has posed:
In the midst of the chaos, Stardust is still frozen. From time to time, a stray bullet bounces off her.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
As the beam strikes, one layer of Kae's wards flare into brightness, the surface rippling and crackling with power as Kae continues to whisper, her words probably much like an itch in the back of people's minds. Kae's eyebrow twitches as there's a loud crack, the sound of shattering glass when her outer ward breaks from the beam of light, the second layer underneath now rippling briefly from the overwash. One of the crystals on her ward bracelet flickers briefly and looses all luster.

Kae raises a hand and then turns her palm upward and lifts her hand as there's a dull rumble near the back entrance and suddenly a pillar of concrete lifts from the ground, blocking the exit. Kae's green eyes are positively aglow as she makes another motion with her hand and that pillar comes racing directly toward the 'good' Doctor. Obviously the magician now is trying to cut off Mr. Laser hand's escape... As Kae finishes her spell her free hand comes up to massage at her temple, her eyes twitching still as she stares at the fellow, rather angrily "Nice trick with the machines..." She comments as she tries to move toward the frozen heroine...

When close Kae would try to put her hand on Colette, poking gently, curiously, now placing her wards around both her self and the frozen Heroine. Before her attention goes back to Dr Light.. "Not getting away..." She says in his direction.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin unsheathed his sword, standing at the ready with Cassie. He takes a hand to one of the compartments on his belt, activating a button. A positive deet deet deet and Damian lifts up his sword. "Let's take him down." He offers, making a jump for Ravager.

Coordinating his moves with Cassie, Damian moves in with a series of swings against the other swordsman, expecting many a parry from Ravager. He did not care if he was previously injured, and still recovering, this was a matter of honor, and pride. Damian is Batman's son, and he's going to show it.

Deathstroke has posed:
"Fool!" cries Light, although not without a certain frustration in his tone, as the ground bursts up behind him. He stands by the lone remaining device, simmering with a low sort of fury. "Don't you realize I command light in all its forms, that I can draw it from anywhere, thus magnifying my powers? Do you think this will stop me! Impudent wench!" For a moment, there fight seems a stalemate, with his shield still held in front of the device, but his other hand ceasing its blasts, and upheld for... some purpose.

On the catwalk struts and supports above, a brutal melee plays out. With the additional injection, Ravager grows more powerful in every facet, his speed and strength growing, if not to match Wonder Girl's, at least to the point where they put him on an even footing once his weapons and skills come into play. Then again, he is fighting two!

He lashes out at Wonder Girl first, striking with his blade again and again, several times against her bracer, until he begins to understand an anticipate her actions - planning ahead - though with Damian attacking as well, he cannot execute that plan immediately.

In the midst of their combat, he reverses his stance to meet Damian's blade with his and fight hand-to-hand against Cassie, as she bears no weapon but her fists. But her blocks are just like her parries. And he's learned. Waiting, when the lasso comes, he sidesteps - perfectly balanced even on that strut - then reaches to catch it and yank her forward, right into a waiting blade.

Of course, in that moment, he is open to the young Bat, his weapon 'occupied' in the Amazon's flesh.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust doesn't move at all when Kaelyn pokes her. It feels like poking something very solid. Around her, the battle continues.

Then, "I hate it when that happens..." Finally, Stardust is mobile again. She glances about, rapidly taking in the scene unfolding around her. She looks up at where Cassie and Damian are fighting together, then back down to where Kaelyn fights alone. Easy choice.

Stardust starts moving. Scooping up two chunks of broken machinery as she runs, she frisbies the first directly at the machine that Dr. Light is protecting, the second at the not-so-good doctor himself. They may both be shielded, but it gives him something to do. Then she leaps into the air, to follow straight after her makeshift missles, charging shoulder first towards the laser-firing maniac.

Normally it's not sensible to charge straight at someone who's firing lasers, though as those lasers have been firing at Kaelyn, he has paused to give a super-villain speech, and he has bits of flying metal to think about, she's confident she'll have a second or two. Which is all she needs, because before she fully closes on the doctor, she veers suddenly to the side. There's another vulnerable point to the device that isn't covered by the doctor's shields: the heavy-duty cables leading into it. That's Stardust's real target. If in doubt, pull the plug.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie had a plan, a plan that goes awry.

Planning to ensare and electrocute him, Cassie still calls upon the power of Zeus as Ravager's hand closes around her lasso. Electricity streaks across the cord... and then dies away, fading, pulled away somehow, though she cannot fathom how or why. She looks confused, if only for a moment, until she's yanked forward and impaled. Then her eyes go wide in shock and pain, her Amazon weakness found, the blade piercing her as it would any mortal. "Urk!" She coughs, coughs blood, even. It's a rare feeling, perhaps even a new one, for her.

And then, even still, she wraps her arms around the man and squeezes, imparing him however she can for Damian.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
As the pillar misses, Kae frowns at the fool bit. He's monologuing.. glances around, then takes this opportunity to bring her little bugs in as she contemplates how best to fight a light battering person without like resorting to any form of deadly force. Next Colette reanimates! Yaay! And Kae was about to say that, a big grin on her face when the young hero zips across to try and cut the cables going to the machine.

Kae notes Colette and tries to put a damage ward around the young hero, it's not uber powerful but maybe it will absorb one hit for the girl. She frowns and glances around the fight, only just catching Wondergirl and Damian beating on the big fellow.

Kae hear's the 'urk' and looks up now, frowning a bit and glancing back at Light... OK End this as fast as she can.... Kae's hands are held out to the side slightly, palms up as she begins muttering, again that spine chilling whisper of hers but much more so as she draws on every bit of power she can readily pull.. Visible runes can be seen lifting from her hand these appearing to be egyptian characters by the way they look. Ghostly spheres begin to snap into existance, then start whirling around her, all save one a simple force bolt, but packing quite a bit of raw power and designed to batter her target senseless. Of course the last one is her little suprise, this one something meant to bind the fellow and freeze him in place.

Deathstroke has posed:
And thus Doctor Light's little plan comes to fruition. Drawing power from all around the room (though avoiding the remaining machine, of course!) the lights dim, random gadgets and equipment falters, even people's phones die. But the greatest target of all is none other than Wonder Girl's own lasso, where the Doctor is able, for an instant, to draw power from the Gods themselves, by courtesy of her convenient conduit.

Light cackles madly, as the shield glows bright, absorbing Stardust' makeshift missiles, and indeed, he is confident against her charge as well. He lowers his hand, intent to blast her into oblivion before she can close with him, until she veers away at that final moment, ignoring the man and going for the cables. It's smart, and it works. His shields are raised close to the machine alone, nowhere near the far more mundane generators hidden in those boxes to power them. And so, just like that, Colette just casually pulls the plug, and the thing goes dead.

Kaelyn is free to her magic now, though Light remains, his hands glowing with energy. He strikes out almost indiscriminately now, a blast toward the witch with one hand and at interloping Colette with the other. Others are thrown less carefully, blasting toward the heroes above (and likely doing more structural damage to the building than anything). Basically, it becomes a big old deadly light show!

Yet having lowered his shield for that raw offense, he is undefended for a necessary moment, and Kaelyn's blast strikes true, knocking him backward into the wall of stone, grunting in pain at the impact.

Skylark has posed:
Almost as if it were impatiently waiting for this very moment, once the plug is pulled from the final generator, a tiny little visitor swoops inside of the warehouse. It flies erratically through the air at high speeds, making it difficult to see. It moves from one corner of the room to the next and with everything else going on at the moment, the visitor is easy to miss. If there's anything that gives the newcomer away, it's the quiet droning sound that it makes when it moves from one area to the next. At times it lingers longer, hovering in place, as if observing all the action going on down below, but all in all, it seems harmless.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Screeee! The sound of angry steel rings through the opening in the warehouse. A red and black motorcycle screams in. No one occupies its seat, it is piloting itself, and it has its 'eyes' on Doctor Light. A whir of servos and extension arms reveals an onboard firearm, attempting to shoot rubber bullets at Doctor Light, before the electronics onboard start to fritz. Once coming back, the AI equipped motorcycle spins to corner Light, threatening to shoot him.

While the Redbird occupies the ground, Robin is up above. The teen moves in to slice the bicep of Ravager's dominant arm, supposed to render it useless, but as his teammate is hurt, Damian alters his plan, swooping in to attempt to break that sword with his gauntlet scallops. The sword is allowed to fall.

Deathstroke has posed:
As the melee plays out above, and the blast-fest on the ground, suddenly... there's a motorcycle! Vrooming onto the scene, it unloads on Dr. Light as Kaelyn does - with her full magical power now restored, and the man is repeatedly battered against the stone wall behind him. Still empowered, he lashes out with a few last blasts, powerful but erratic. They do more damage to the building than anything else. And again, they lash out at those fighting above...

In the same moments, Damian leaps to his teamate's defense, and it's good he does, before Ravager has a chance to twist the blade or worse. With his strength as it is, he might well cut even the Wonder Girl in half. She's spared this fate as Robin catches and twists the blade. As strong as the one they recovered in the alley, the metal itself won't snap - but part of the handle does, Ravager's strength in trying to draw black the blade ripping the grip from the tang. Loosed from it Cassie is freed... to fall, as she was hovering beside him.

Enraged himself, perhaps due to the serum, Ravager whirls on Damian to fight hand to hand...

...and then Dr. Light's blast washes across the scaffold, seemingly obliterating it.

Wonder Girl has posed:
With the blade still in her, but broken free of Ravager's grip, Cassie hangs there in the open air for a long a moment, and then, with the last of her strength failing as shock overwhelms her... she simply falls. It all feels so very strange, in her hazy vision, as the bridge falls away and then light seems to wash everything out. She probably wonders for a second or two if it's not *that* light, the end of the tunnel sort, rather than the mad-scientist blowing holes through the roof kind.

Stardust has posed:
Once the plug is pulled, Stardust doesn't hang around. She closes on the doctor again, dodging and weaving as best she can, keeping to cover. She's almost on him when one of his beams hit her a glancing blow. With the additional protection of Kaelyn's ward, it's not enough to overcome her natural resilience this time, knocking her back but not freezing her.

Stardust crashes into a pillar, barely missing the tiny, droning visitor. However her attention is on the fight, so she doesn't notice this and is straight back to action... only to see the doctor go down to Kaelyn's attack, and then be set upon by... a robot bike? Cool.

The battle against the doctor becomes a chaotic maelstrom of beams, and it's just confusing where to go. Kaelyn seems to be knocking him slowly senseless, but those beams are causing trouble. Maybe they can be blocked? There's those big doors just lying around, after all. Stardust goes for the nearest one, simply tipping it over to fall towards, hopefully even onto, the doctor.

Switching her attention to the other battle, Stardust changes direction, and flies up level with the catwalk to see how the two Titans there are doing...

"CASSIE!"

As Wonder Girl falls, her friends react. Stardust dives through the air, arms outstretched to break Cassie's fall. But she's not the only friend Cassie has there...

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin had more than prepared himself to fight Ravager hand to hand, but as the scaffold starts to fall under them, Robin instinctively reaches for his grapple. With a hushed boom, the gun fires and latches onto the bracing of the warehouse. With one hand he reaches out to catch Cassie, and the other braces for what can only be an ugly crash with Colette. The first falling rescue of Damian's career seems to have been a bit of a blunder.

The Rebird, of course, held its guard against the doctor until it was called off.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae motions toward the 'good' Doctor, and those spheres of hers coalescing and morphin ginto a different spell before racing toward the doctor. The spell envelopes him, turning dark along the outside then shrinking down into a sphere no bigger than a softball before lifting up and zooming into Kae's backpack as she opens the thing. She then waves toward Damian and Colette "In here, I have medical supplies on the other end!" She shouts out to the two as the building continues coming down. She sets the backpack down and tugs the opening wider somehow, it's like she stretched it with a hoola-hoop. On the other end, a young witch can be seen taking the black sphere and dissapearing with it as she mutters something about the police.

Meanwhile, Kae waves her left arm over her head, extending the ward outward and upward, this time meaning for it to help protect from debris as she mentally gives 'permission' for Damian, Cassie and Colette to enter.. "C'mon, time's of the essense!" She calls out, then shouts into the backpack "Healing potions and one shots, get as many as you have ready now, clear out the stock if need be..." Tina and Tanya, who are briefly visible, both pale and run off in the same direction, as it's quite visible there is a circle, on the other end of the backpack's opening, this resembling an eye of horus, inside a triangle, this is inside 2 concentric circles with runes laced around it, and around that? There's a pentagram, which also has a circle around it, concentric as it were, and more runes, and then a 7 pointed star around that. Probably, for those who might know anything about mysticism it's a circle of power.

Kae jumps into the backpack, now visible below waving up to the heroes with the injured one. "Quick, pass her down here and climb in!" she calls out, waist deep in the thing, and well genuinely wanting to help.

Skylark has posed:
Even though it is not Light's target, the little spy, which upon closer inspection looks like a small green headed hummingbird, is forced to dodge some of the wayward shots taken. In fact, as it is dodging the random light strikes, the bird almost doesn't notice the crashing Stardust, but is able to veer off to the side just in the nick of time, looking rather panicked in the process. A flickering gleam on its underside continues to observe each and every person in the large warehouse as it continues in its exploration, almost as if it were searching for something. At times, it may hover around one particular hero or other, as if in fascination, especially once the mystical one jumps into a backpack...

Deathstroke has posed:
Perhaps the backpack of holding is as good an escape route as any from the now rapidly collapsing warehouse! Even if Colette was only bluffing before, it seems Dr. Light has brought that destructive reality to be, albeit on a slightly smaller scale.

With Cassie safe in two full sets of hands, though still grievously injured, the heroes are able to effect their escape. Light himself is placed in magical custody of a sort, bound in whatever shielded orb and levitated along after them. Girders collapse behind, several falling upon the central machine and all the others around the room. Later, there may be time to search for further answers, but for now, everything is soon to be swallowed up by the collapsing frame and its sheet-metal walls.

And as the building crumbles, perched upon one of those giant cranes, another figure watches. Though the heroes will never see him, had any caught a glimpse of his distinct mask and armor, they might wonder if he was not the very man they just watched get swallowed up in Light's blast, alive, well, and unharmed.

They would be wrong.
