Cast of Characters: Alfred Pennyworth, Indiana Jones

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Another day, another shopping trip. Alfred had only recently ended his last shopping trip with a bit of ninja fighting here the day prior so it seemed natural he should start his next one with a quick visit to the bar. Not for the entire evening, but just for that quick peak to see if things were always so crazy as the night prior.

He arrives in the early evening dressed down in a rather simplistic outfit prepped by the man himself with care and attention to detail. He arrives without much in the way of fanfair and finds a seat near the end of the bar.

It's not long before he has himself a cold vesper in hand attention drifting up towards the bar as he enjoys a drink that's eluded him for far too long for his own liking.

Indiana Jones has posed:
There is nothing that ends a day better than a nice drink. This has been Indiana's tradition for over a century, and he has no intentions of breaking it anytime soon. No matter the country, Indy has made it a point to end the day with something, even if he had to bring it with him in a flask.

Today is no different, and Indy makes his way into the bar, slipping the old fedora off of his head as he makes his was towards the bar.

Other than the old hat, the jeans and shirt that he wears are of a more modern era, the name 'Jones' embroidered above the left breast pocket with a university coat of arms underneath.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred is silent for s short while as Jones makes his way into the bar. His attention drifts down to the reflection in his glass to get a good look at the newcomer. A quiet sip from the glass is had as he looks back up towards the far wall of the bar.

"It's been a long time Doctor." Spoken in a calm tone of voice as he sets one of the few people at the bar during this rather slow time of day. His back completely to the door. "Still scouring the earth for ancient treasures?" A low sip from his glass as he offers a deadpan expression.

Indiana Jones has posed:
Ordering a shot of whiskey and a beer from the bartender, Indy turns his attention towards the other occupant at the bar.

"Long enough that you have me at slight disadvantage." says the 'old' archeologist as his eyes scan over the profile. "I took some time off, but I've recently started doing some excavating again, Mr..."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Spinning around on the spot the man offers a smile towards Indie as he speaks introducing himself. "The name's Pennyworth, Alfred Pennyworth." A dryness to his voice as the elderly man speaks a single gloved hand is extended.

Alfred is calm and collected with a rather natural charisma to him as he sets there holding himself with grace and poise. "Of course I won't take offense if you forgot about me completely." He pauses for a moment offering a spot at the bar. "After all it's been over 50 years."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones reaches out to take the extended hand, giving it a shake. "Mister Pennyworth. Right..." he says, somewhat skeptically as he looks over the butler. "You look pretty good for someone who would have been...what...20 something when we met? I don't recall teaching anymore around that time, so I don't think you were a student. It'll come to me..."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Actually I believe the last time we met was Budapest 1954" Alfred offers with a bit of a smile before giving a rather firm handshake. His consistancy at least somewhat admirable. "Of course the last time we met" He shifts accents dramatically to a thick scottish. "I was a lot younger and just as handsome." Before offering a light smirk.

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones blinks, arching a brow after the handshake and sudden shift in accent. "Wait a minute..."

The lights twinkle behind Indy's eyes as realization starts to dawn on him and he laughs. "Budapest? With that guy who was trying to get the plans for the H bomb over to the Russians? James? Holy shit, I've got to say you look pretty damn good for a man your age, but who am I to talk..."

Indy laughs, taking a seat on the stool next to Alfred and tosses back the whiskey. "I think I am going to need more to drink."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"You're the man who still doesn't look a day older then when last we met." A light chuckle escapes Alfreds lips as he smiles fondly tow3ards Indie. "You really saved my bacon back there, consider your drinks on me tonight."

There's a similar light in Alfreds eyes as he speaks with the confidence and conviction of his old self. "Of course these days I'm retired from that sort of business" A light pause. "Much in the same way as the Soviet union to be fair."

Indiana Jones has posed:
"If I recall I think we saved each other's bacon more than once during that mess. And being ageless...well, that is sometimes more of a curse than it is a blessing, Al." says Indy, using the 'new' name. "I tried moving and changing my name every so often, but once Marion died...well, just seemed pointless."

He shrugs, flagging down the bartender and ordering another round. "So, here i am. I started working for the government, finding and preserving old relics that might be...dangerous. It beats sitting at home and twiddling my thumbs. How about you, how is retirement treating you?"

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred smiles as Indie speaks. His general attitude shiufted slightly once he knows he's in good company. His focus goes back and fourth from indie to the bar as he nurses the vesper in his hand enjoying each and every little sip.

"Oh it's quite the handful," Alfred starts with a smirk, as his voice drifts back into received pronunciation. "Between gardening, looking after the grandkids, and the occasional rough patch, I've had very little free time in my retirement." He pauses for another sip, before looking to inie. "Not that I'd have it any other way mind, the two of us are a lot alike in that regard."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones chuckles, "Grandkids huh? You never stuck me as the kind that would settle down to have the chance to make any kids, let alone get grandkids out of the deal. How many? I've got one floating around in Manhattan. Don't see he much. Glad you're keeping busy, though. I mean guys like us...we can't just sit around. We would go crazy."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred smiles for a moment before finally admiting with a bit of a shrugging of the shoulders. "Well I was working with the Waynes, and after their passing adopted their son, Bruce" He uses the term adopted loosely but it's a statement that's true as anything. "I wasn't about to leave the kid alone." Another low sip taken from his vesper as he looks back towards Indie "Now I could say I'm just as surprised to see you wound up having a kid."'

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones shrugs. "It's not really that surprising. Marion and I settled down after a while, and one things leads to another. I actually had a couple, but all I got is Jessica now. And even that is somewhat tentative."

He rubs at the back of his neck, "Wayne. I heard about that, I mean...who hand't. It was front page news when it happened. Glad to hear that the kid had someone to watch out over him. His billionaire ways produce a few...oppsies? You said grandkids, and far as I heard the Wayne kid wasn't married."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Adopted a few kids of his own over the years, into foster care." Alfred clears up, with a bit of a smile still happy they're all alive and ticking even if Jason was a scare he'd never quite move past. "He's a good man, even if he has a few faults along the way. Couldn't work with a nicer man."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones ahs, sipping at his newly refreshed whisky. "Well, that's good. I like to hear that someone with that much influence and money is turning it around and helping those less underprivileged. Too many would just turn their back on folks. Glad he treats you well instead of just as the hired help, too. But I am sure that you raising him has a lot to do with that. Can't imagine how screwed up he might have turned out without someone like you watching his back."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"Yes one shudders to think where the man would be without some guidance." He pauses for a moments thought nursing that same vesper carefully as he double checks the time. "Perhaps he would have turned to a life of danger and vigilantism instead of philanthropy. Or perhaps fought on the other side of the isle."

5t Alfred shrugs down his shoulders for a quick moment before confirming once again "One will never know the truth of how far a man could have fallen Dr.Jones." He looks over towards the bartender and offers him a credit card. "Anything he orders I'll be covering for the night."

"I'm sure I could say the same for you and your boy, we might not be the best dads, but we both have the best stories." Spoken with a soft smile, as he slowly comes back to a stand.

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indiana Jones rises at Alfred does. "Yeah, true enough, Al. True enough. I don't think anyone will be able to beat our stories. Hell, they even made a few of mine into movies. Can you believe that?" He snorts, shaking his head.

He reaches into his back pocket and produces a business card that has his name and phone number on it. "Here, you ever feel like reminiscing again, give me a call. I can't promise I won't be halfway around the world, but if I am not..."
