Cast of Characters: Martian Manhunter, Superwoman, Crusader

Martian Manhunter has posed:
Blips flow across various monitors... Videos from various places across the Earth are shown on multiple screens... Radio signals can be heard, some with only the most attuned of senses, emanated from speakers across the room... There even appears to be holographic 3D images that display the areas around the various planets of the Solar System... A few of the most advanced screens actually display read-outs in the most interesting alien languages, but are quickly translated to English... All of this and more can be seen in the Monitor room of the Watchtower.

Standing in the center of the room, appearing to take it all in at once, is the green form of the Martian Manhunter. His red eyes quickly dash from system to system, his head moving just enough to take in all the screens, and his form in unnatural stillness as he reviews the vast amounts of information. For a moment a specific police scanner is increased in volume, slightly louder than the rest to sensitive ears, and it describes in more detail about advanced technology in the hands of criminals. After a quick report, the volume returns to the same volume as the rest of the cacophony, and leaves the Martian silent in thought.

After a moment, he floats to towards the ceiling, the walls opening to reveal large windows at the top that stares into space, and he slowly rotates until he's facing away from Earth. His eyes land on a planet far in the distance, Red in color, and for the moment his thoughts drift away from his vigilance on the post he serves here...

Superwoman has posed:
And yet there is a newcomer to the Watchtower. Someone of great power and sublime skill. The last remaining Soldier of Krypton. The final testament to a once proud people's military might. She arrives at the door to the Watchtower and knocks.

Her uniform is black, primarily, with silver and white accents that add a certain dangerous edge to her look. These are not bright, friendly colors. The leather she wears is built more like armor, despite it not being needed for a Kryptonian. She is covered, all but her face and head. Protected, in a sense. Across her chest a glyph unlike that of Superman's. It is the symbol for the house of Hu-Ul, inside a shield very much like Kal's.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"Hmmm..." J'onn pauses, checks the monitor, and slowly lowers himself to the ground. The walls begin to close over the windows in the Monitor Room, and he mentally sends commands to the Watchtower to allow access to their newest ally. After a moment, the Zetabeam flares to life, and allows Faora access into the facility. As long as Faora doesn't fight the transfer, the experience is not painful, like standing too close to a powerful source of electromagnetic energy. The Zetabeam will transfer Faora to the Monitor Room, where J'onn is waiting, and he has adjusted all the devices to a slightly less confusing babble.

"Greetings, I am J'onn J'onzz, resident Martian and currently on Duty for the Justice League..." His voice is deep, like something coming from an endless void, and at first his face remains impassive during his greeting. As if queued from some internal thought, though, he provides a small upturn of his lips in an attempt at a smile. "I see that you have recently been granted access to our facilities. It is always a welcome surprise to meet new allies..." No mental scans come from him, as he's learned that it's considered impolite on this planet, "...I have just allowed access to the Zetabeam transfer for your use. It is a faster method of travel from here to the planet bellow."

Superwoman has posed:
Faora's face doesn't shift as she's suddenly transported. Indeed, she is stone-faced. She floats in place when she arrives inside the Monitor Room. "I am Faora Hu-Ul, also known as Superwoman." she states, almost emotionless in her phrasing. She just floats there a few inches above the ground, looking quietly around the room. Memorizing it. Making sense of it. Scanning it with Kryptonian vision.

"Yes. Matter teleportation is a very efficient method of transport. I've always hated it. Give me a good ship any day." She states matter-of-factly." Faora makes no attempt to smile, instead, floating in what would be an intimidating manner to most. Her armor-esque uniform speaks of a military mind. It is by no means friendly. "How do duty shifts work? I assume there is a duty roster? Does this organization work in a military sense, paramilitary?" she looks quietly to J'onn. "What is the command structure?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"Well met, Faora Hu-ul. Do you have a preference for your Given Name or your Title of Superwoman?" J'onn asks, his facial features remaining neutral throughout the conversation, "Most of the other Members use their Title when in Public for various reasons..." He lifts one hand as he continues, "...whether to protect an identity they do not wish to be disclosed in order to protect family members..." then raises the other hand, "...or to link a Public Persona with the Activities they perform. Both are logical outcomes for their given scenarion."

Pausing for a moment, he continues to answer her questions, "All of the monitoring mechanisms are fully automated. There are backup systems and alerts if one of the feeds come down, and notification is sent to Batman and I as we architected many of the systems. Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are also notified as they are able to quickly arrive to assess situations, and deal with any potential threats." He brings up an image on one of the holigraphic displays, "Currently we are all On Duty at all times. There is no set schedule for the Monitoring Room, but Green Lanter or I can usually be found in here most days. Batman is capable of remotely monitoring, and performs that activity on a regular basis."

Considering her last question, J'onn pauses a moment, before continuing, "I would consider this to currently be more a Paramilitary Organization. Green Lanter, Batman, and I have a background in Investigations and Military matters. Aquaman and Wonder Woman has an extensive background in Combat Training, and Leadership. Outside of that, the Military Experience is limited. As far as a Command Structure, I would consider this more an Organization of Equals. We each have our strengths and weaknesses, and we rely on one another to perform as necessary. Currently Superman is the Chairman, with each of the Founders... Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batman, Aquaman, Flash, and I serving as the rest of the Committee."

Crusader has posed:
Just after Superwomen introdcued herself, the Brutish Vorn walks in looking over an advanced alien weapon, that looks to match the description of the tech the gang the news and police reports have been focusing on use. He grunts out "Hey J'onn is there a lab here or something? Our equipment back home is not adequate enough to rip this baby apart properly." he states carefully keeping the muzzle pointed down at at times - despite it being deactivated.

And he looks up and looks to Superwomen and offer her a smile "Oh heyo Faora" he says in a familial way. He did manage to catch her name before walking in, and seemed quite lax. He looks to J'onn as he fields Faora questions. It one of the things he has never asked, as he was just an Ally, but none the less it was good infomation to know and he files that away in the back of his mind

Superwoman has posed:
Faora looks over towards Vorn. She only nods- her attention is more on J'onn. "And I have a background in both." she mentions, "A peacekeeper on Krypton was military and police. It was, sometimes, required to investigate what was not obviously recorded." she takes a slow, quiet breath, "And fight, when it became required." Of course, Superwoman has been seen in action. Where Superman could be considered a wrecking ball, Faora is a scalpel. Her strikes and movements are precise and controlled- her discipline obvious. It doesn't take a genius Martian intellect to realize Faora Hu-Ul is a trained warrior.

"So. Something like a league of equals- but not, if there is a ruling council who makes ultimate decision. An Oligarchy.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"Hello Vorn," The Martian responds in kind as his eyes pass over the alien weapon that his friend is carrying. "Hmm, that matches the descriptions I've been hearing from various reports on the advanced technology that a random gang seems to have acquired..." After only a seconds pause, he asks, "...is that one and the same?" Reaching over, arm extending to well beyond normal means, the Martian types in a few commands on the console to bring up a different holographic image. This one shows a very advanced lab and mechanical workshop, "This is the Workshop in the Watchtower. It is built with some of my own Species technology, and what we are able to acquire from other entities. I believe it is one of, if not the most, advanced Workshop on this planet. Let us see if can suffice."

J'onn returns his attention to Faora, his fingers continuing to move on the control panel, and nods as she describes a bit of her background. It is obvious to the Martian that she is Soldier in many aspects. "I believe that is a fair assessment..." J'onn nods in agreement with her, "...those of us on the Council provide leadership, direction, mentorship, and discipline to the others as needed."

As he finishes his last statement, a mobile workstation glides into the room on some kind of anti-gravity system as it appears to float silently a few inches off the ground. "Vorn, this is a Field Workstation that allows initial triage of advanced technology. Maybe the three of us can take a first look here, and if it requires more advanced equipment we can head to the workshop."

"When we deploy to an event, there is a Field Commander put in place, and that individual decides the tactical battle plans. Depending on the number of members involved, we will employ Field Lieutenants that execute specific mission objectives that ties into the overall Battle Strategy."

Crusader has posed:
"You would be correcto mundo" Vorn says "We, along with Batman, Black Canary and other were stationed at Gothan First National bank as it was threatened to be robbed" he explains as he puts the weapon on the table. "The got away with it, but eight of them were caputred. They are called Intergang. Knowing bats, he is already tracking the others. We kept three of the guns. One we are keeping, the one here for study, and the last to use as needed"

He whistles seeing the work bench and rubs his hands togeather "Oh, we soooo gotta raid the workshop here" he says in appreciation of the tools "Martion tech is not bad" of course before he digs in, he'll let the other take a look. He looks to Faora "We never really liked...secrets. But they are understanble, sometimes keeping peace requires in some places" he says towards her as she mentions being both military and police. He looks to J'onn as he explains how they work, it made sense. "And we take it younger recruits, depending on shown skill are tasked with less dangerous missions?" he asks.

Superwoman has posed:
"I would rather not. I can tell you, that rifle is not of any Earth based design, however." Faora states as she looks deeply into the weapon, through layers that she can see. "No. It is not of any known design or design variant of any weapon I have been exposed to on this planet, or seen in an archive or database." Faora states with absolute certainty.

"It seems you have gotten something else to do. I will wait, then, for a tour of the watchtower." she remarks, "You have answered much of my questions, J'onn." she bows her head and looks then to Vorn, "Well met." she takes a slow moment and a deep breath. "I should be going, however. I... believe I should begin investigating these weapons."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"Yes. I am sure Batman is well into tracking down the source of this technology..." J'onn replies as his eyes survey the weapon. After a minute, he makes a statement, "This is very advanced..." as the Field Workshop begins deploying scanning devices to determine powersources, materials in the design, computer system architecture, and energy output. "...I agree with Faora's assessment. Not only is this more advanced that any military capability on the planet, but I would say even some of the alien technology that the various heroes have been exposed to probably is outpaced by this design."

He turns his attention back to Faora, "I am sure Vorn is capable of handling this investigation for now. I would be happy show you the rest of the Watchtower..." then he watches Faora also focus on the weapon, "...or we can help Vorn here..."

Crusader has posed:
"That seems to be the one thing everyone can agree on - it is not from earth. We are worried that even us who are used to alien tech have not seen such a design. And to be honest, the gun itself make me unease" Vorn states.

He glances up "But do not let me keep you if you seek to see the tower." he says. Though he seems a bit distracted himself, and even shivers a bit as all the scans begin to happen. But none the less he seem mostly focused

Superwoman has posed:
"To be perfectly honest, " Faora states as she looks over to J'onn. "Apart from Batman, I do not particularly trust the abilities of others to get the answers required to ensure a rapid answer to the issue at hand. That weapon is well beyond the abilities of most humans to make, and if governments had this technology it would proliferate quickly. Someone is supplying a new breed of weapon to criminals. Criminals that may harm those I have sworn to protect." Faora states, her face flat. Like stone. She'd never be caught bluffing at poker.

Her Emotional state, however, J'onn can undoubtedly sense as it fluctuates. Something about that weapon- or the implication of that weapon- is very disturbing to Faora. Whatever it has triggered is very strong- something Faora can not ignore. "Batman is one man. He has eyes like no other- but another set of eyes will not hurt. I will begin in Metropolis."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"I agree, Vorn... such advanced technology on this planet far exceeds reasonable suspicion on even intergalactic trading..." His voice deepening, perhaps showing a bit of the concern he has as well, a small inkling of a memory, "...but the fact it is a weapon, and a weapon specifically given to individuals bent on chaos. These types of devices do not accidentally end up in the hands of low level vagrants such as you and the police have described."

J'onn looks to Faora, a knowing nod showing his own concern at the revelations that this weapon has brought up, "You are correct. Batman is a single man, even with his impressive networks he employs, and we should all do what we can to find the answers." He bows his head in a respect nod, one Warrior to another, "It has been an honor to meet, and speak with you Faora. If you have not been issued a communicator yet, I will get one for you, and with it you can reach any of us at any time. If you come across anything of interest, let me know, and I will feed it into our systems here..." He lets out a long breath, his head shaking side to side a bit in disbelief, "...I fear this is only the beginning of a larger issue."

Superwoman has posed:
"I think you're right, J'onn." Superwoman replies, as she heads off, still floating through the air. She elects to leave the Watchtower via an airlock, this time, and not the transporter beam. Flying through space and towards Metropolis to take on crime in her own way.
