Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
The Enchanted Grounds, Coffee shop, Occult and New Age store is one interesting place. The front quarter of this amazingly deep shop is dominated by a checkout counter, and well a coffee shop and reading lounge too? There is a full service coffee shop opposite the checkout counter, this more of a kyosk style rather than just a coffee bar set against the wall, as a big chunk of the counter swings out into the floor. The wall behind the counter is dominated with shelf after shelf of cofee tea, a soda fountain. There's even an ice cream freezer. Lets not forget the back side of the counter has a few sandwitch grills and a couple fat friers. Seem this place is also a bit of a cafe. There's also a baked goods display, and some refrigerated cases that have cheese and nut mixtures, cold sandwitches, fruit trays. And to the left of that? A quartet cauldron looking pots that probably have the soups of the day.

There are plenty of small tables, a couple larger round tables, and couch areas kind of scattered throughout the shop as a whole, and row after row of shelves.. Some of these along the walls many form isles, the whole place is layed out like some kind of fun labrynth of gizmos, goodies, magical supplies, and many many books. Some are new age, some are sci-fi and fantasy related books. The gigantic turntable shelf in the back has reprints of rare antique books. Half of that turtable shelf sits in the wall of the building, evidently they load the thing from the back. There are also plenty of touchscreen tablets near displays showing some of the more expensive books, as well as a quartet of computers, and 2 more tablets that list the antique books the store currently has in stock. Evidently they don't leave those really pricy books and items out front where anyone can handle them. Two sometimes three helper scan be seen moving about the place. You have Wendy, a blond girl choosing to wear a kind of witches getup behind the cofee counter.. Tanya who likes to tend the register and help customers find things. She's dressed like some kind of sorceress, and Tina, Tanya's Twin who well, she's dressed the same way and acts like a go between from Tanya to Wendy.

All in all the store is a unique blend of different idealogies that someone has found a way to fit together into a nice large-ish botique and coffee cafe. There is another thing in the area that might grab folks attention though, in the far back there's a large ornate iron and heavy wood door with the words "Employees only" written in fine script across the door its self. The other neat feature of the building are the front windows, these being made of stained glass instead of clear glass panes... The designes of the stained glass resemble occult symbols, as do the bars in front of the stained glass.


--- And there's Kae, now lounging in one of the big chairs. Things look normal enough right now, the redhead is currently flopped back, and reading a book and all, while her helpers go about their business. Wendy is serving drinks, Tina is currently helping with the little cafe built into the shop. And Tanya is tending register or helping others find whatever their occult needs are...

The red-headded shop owner yawns and flips a page, as Wendy walks by... "Well getting out of that construct only took 8 hours this time!" She says cheerfully.

Kae glances back at the girl and smirks "Yah I -could- have gotten out of it after 8 hours, I fell asleep somewhere at 6... Woke up in a wierd position, then got out and couldn't get comfortable again..."

Wendy just grins a bit and moves on at this point as Kae leans forward and grabs her iced macha, she takes a long pull on it and her eyebrows raise as she looks to Wendy "Exta extra strong today on the late? This time ya added some protein powder?" Wendy nods rapidly and Kae grins "Good girl..."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
The door opens and a dark haired woman walks in. She's dressed comfortably in a light gray tee and jeans, her feet covered in black and white Chuck Taylor's. The tee has the logo for the iconic Schoolhouse Rock complete with all of the various characters. What? A girl likes to be relaxed. Pushing her sunglasses atop her head, the woman looks around before walking further into the room. A pause, then, to inhale the aromas of brewing coffee and tea and such. A smile crosses her lips and she begins to walk past the coffee bar toward the magical items offered.

Kae tilts her head curiously and watches the person wander by the redhead tilting her head... Meanwhile Tina sees the lady and asks curiously "Hallo, can I help you find anything?" Asks the young witch curiously. Kae on the other hand hops up and makes her way to the counter, stumbling a bit and making Wendy giggle, before Wendy says "Got used to walking on your toes..." Kae then responds "Lets not forget the extra weight from wings and of course the tail." She responds and shrugs slowly... "Sooo how bout some beingets?" She says cheerfully, then helps her self to a couple chocolate drizzled ones, with some powdered sugar on it too.. She makes her way back to her seat and sits back down. Meanwhile Tanya helps a customer carry stuff to their car.

Zatanna Zatara looks toward Tina and offers a polite smile. "Hello. Just looking for now but I'll speak up if I need anything." She moves deeper in, beginning to look at the displays and shelves of magical wares, her eys constantly moving about to take in the decor and the merchandise. She stops in front of one of the book shelves and begins to curiously scan over the titles perhaps just to see what sorts of books the store typically offers.

In the front there's tons of transcribed books here and there, lots of really old titles and all of them actually having bearing on the art and all. They are however quite safe to sell to the public at large.. There's also plenty of fantasy books and such, sci-fi, and of course there's the touch pads which lists the really old stuff (And largely the good stuff too) as it seems to react to someone magically inclined and allow viewing of real magic books, reagents, tools and the like.. Of course it says an associate must fetch them for the customer.

Kae smiles now and looks to the lady looking through the books curiously, after having tried a beinget she grins and wanders over toward Zatana, picking up her metal clad bound book along the way... "Good stuff's in the back." She says on her way by, now turning right at the corner of the building and heading toward the reinforced back door.

Zatanna Zatara looks on with interest at the items and does make note that they are all mundane and could not really hurt anyone. Sleight of Hand in a different form, perhaps. She glances as Kaelyn walks past and comments on the other stuff. "Mmm? The back? Is that not just for employees?" she asks curiously.

Kae ummms.. "Well I only keep mildly magic stuff out here, reagents and the like that aren't inherintly magical and all... Gotta sell to regulars and all." she says with a smile, then waves a hand in front of the massive door, and it opens up... "Is there anything you are looking for?" she asks curiously, and heads on inside, leaving the door open. Just inside is a pedastal with a giant tome on it, the floor a little way inside appears to be black marble with brass and nickle layed in the pattern of a 5 tiered circle... Kae wanders on inside and motions to the rows of books, and artificted items and such... "Most of these here are limited use items. Quite useful, there's a few foci here as well. I try not to make a bunch of this stuff pre-made as usually folks who need em, want em made to very exacting standards..."

At this point there's the scrabbling of claws and a tiny cat-sized creature, very similar to a western dragon comes racing down said steps and then leaps up into Kae's arms... The thing that separates it from say a 'real' dragon is the very slight appearance of the 'creature being made of some kind of life-like crystaline metal.. Also it has a few runes here and there on it, and the eyes appear to be amethysts... smooth ones.. Kae grins and catches the litlte creature.

Ummm, this is Fanhuil... He's a full life construct... HE was kind of an accident, but I wouldn't do away with em." She says and grins as she looks over her shoulder... The little 'dragon' chirps at Zatana at this point.

Zatanna Zatara turns to follow, watching the door open. She steps into the back room and her gaze turns far more interested as she sees the degree of quality goods has just increased considerably. "Quite impressive." Her eyes flit quickly from item to item, book to .... construct?" Her eyes are guardedly curious as she sees the creature. A grin as it chirps toward her and she walks up. "So you created this? On accident? I'd hate to see what it is that you create on purpose...."

Kae umms "Well I can make more constructs -like- em but they wouldn't have a real personality... The spells for it don't pull actual life force and all, but somehow one found its way into him when I created em... He's kind of morphed or evolved from the initial clockwork he used to be, now he's well pretty much a living creature. He eats, drinks... etcetra... Good news is that there's no waste made by him either... HIs body converts what he takes in to energy perfectly somehow." Kae says and laughs... The creature tilts its head at Zatana, and well leaps, think like a cat... It now has another shoulder to try and perch on!

Kae blinks and frowns. "Fan.. oy!! Not everyone wants to carry around little mechanical dragons..." he says and sighs... Fanhuil actually only weighs about 10-12 pounds over all, like the size of a medium cat... Kae sighs and looks around before motioning to the stairs that goes down... "That's where reagents and the like are. The stuff in this section and in the basement is all for sale." Kae informs.. Then motiosn to the stares going up. "That's my apartment... My apprentice, and two journeyman live up there along with me, Fanhuil, Hoot Hoot who is another construct like Fan there, and Poe, my familiar... Though I guess Hoot and Fan there are also technically familiar... Still though, that's pretty much the dime tour... Anything you want that I don't hae I usually can aquire fairly quickly. I don't deal in reagents forcefully removed from sentient creatures by the way... No tongues or such from say dragons or djinn or anything like that. I can find substitutes, and there's plenty of them. I got a whoooole library you can use here to research that stuff too..." Kae says and grins a bit.

The Redhead then leads the way down into the basement, where there appears to be a humanoid dragon construct, some 8 feet tall. It looks quite lifelike, perhapse even more so than say Fanhuil, but it's made of incredibly detailed fine crystaline metal substance. Also there's patterns in the scales along the spine and sides, and in the hands and neck and tail as well as huge wings of the 'creature', following the spars...

The construct its self doesn't appear to really be alive, till Kae walks by, and then its eyes glow briefly blue, and the head turns to follow her, then they stop glowing. Kae motions to that... "A construct I'm working on for combat... I'm not the best evocer out there, though I work on it constantly, so to kind of bridge that gap till that point, I've been working ont his... I more than make up in my enchanting and artificing for lack of expertise in evocation." Kae says and grins a bit.

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara listens curiously as she looks around, taking in the proper business area of the shop. She nods in understanding and agreement where appropriate and then looks back to the dragon with a smile of appreciation. "Well, he's a handSOME.... fellow!" she blinks but doesn't startle badly as the dragon leaps to her left shoulder. She laughs and reaches up to comfortably try and scritch the top of his head, "Well, you're a friendly one too, aren'tcha?" She looks back to Kaelyn and smiles, "It's alright. I don't mind being a perch at all. As long as he doesn't try to go home with me or anything" she jokes.

Following down the stairs she looks around. "The magic you've used to define this space is very impressive. It's not all that common from what I've seen." She then grins a little at the offer of the library, "Thank you for the offer. If I have need I'll gladly take you up on it. I've my own little nook of books that usually does the trick in a pinch" she says humbly. When one inherits the magical manse and the very library of a sorcerer the likes of Giovanni Zatara as a family inheritence, such a library is surely more than just a simple nook in the corner of a sitting room.

Kae grins a bit "Not bad for something one has put together in a short time." Kae says with a grin, she should be at least a little prideful, as she wasn't quite as fortunate to have inherited much. "My mother's what some call an Earth witch, or just witch if you prefer... I practice a different form of magic than she does, and while I have copies of her books and such, it's not big enough to really like stretch out everything I should learn, ya know?" Kae says with a grin. She then motions to her half-dragon construct thingie, this an 8 foot tall rather feminine humanoid dragon... "That's my latest big project.. I'm still a ways away from finishing it... Really all my disposable income and time is going into trying to finish that up... " Kae says with a grin... "Right now I'm having an issue with being able to disconnect from it when I've inhabited it... And a few minor things and tweeks. It's a prototype at this point... Oh yah and when in it I can't really work magic and spells, least yet. I'm not that great of a transfiguration mage and all, so I have a hard time once my form is basically changed up. And to inhabit that thing yer basically merging with its core, thus changing shape." Kae says and grins a bit before winking "Had I known that I would have come up with a suit of armor rather than that thing, but since I'm so far into it..."

Kae grins a bit wihle Fanhuil does the cat thing, it pushes into the scritching and does his best imitation of a scarf... Meanwhile, Kae leads further into the basement, she then motions to chalk-topped tables, and 3 other circles... " Where I do a lot of my work..." There's even a table with an alymbic, and other things for making potions, etc...

Zatanna Zatara slows, looking at the towering form. She walks around it then looks to Kaelyn, "So... it's sort of arcane armor? Or... what exactly is it you plan to use it for?" She seems curious or puzzled rather than upset in any fashion. She absently pets Fanhuil as he sprawls across her shoulders, looking around and moving to fall in behind Kaelyn once more. She nods. "Quite the set up. I imagine you're very busy.

"Kind of, cept it's got a core to keep ya safe instead of donning it like regular armor... Ya gotta merge with it. Upside, the core will make sure you won't get killed really while using it... Downside, evidently there's a long transition period for adapting to it and it to you... " Kae says and shrugs... "Least that's the way it seems to be working, every time I 'strap' her on, my adaptation time is less and less, and so is the time I'm actually stuck in her.." Kae says with a bit of a grin.. "Anyhow, my combat expertise is limited, I don't have the training to do regular front-line combat... That suit has instincts, abilities and such that I lack.. Think like the instinctual abilities dragons seem to have.. The spells I have used and whatnot have given that suit those built in instincts... It's got a variable breath weapon, the hide and body is tougher than normal organics. It's got built in automatic wards or shields.... Movement magic... It's capable of flight in atmosphere of high mach, using wards that make it have a perfect aerodynamic body... It's faster in space. Also rapid transit gateing spells or technology... ALso I've put a bunch of divination abilities. It kind of acts like sensors on a real high tech thing... All this is regulated by three cores inside, to make everythingmore natural to use instinctively..." She says with a grin... "Because of the complexity of it though, there's a lot of teething I'm having to do." Kae says, finally explaining it...

"In short, I've made it so when in it and facing a really big threat, I've got something that can take a major hit and keep on going and also dish out said hit too. Biggest downside while in it? As I said before, right now, While I'm inhabiting it, I can't really cast anything more complex than simple light spells and communication spells... It's like there's a kind of mental block... " Kae says and grins a bit again... "Am thinking what with all the enchantments built into it, with everything active it's kind of like mantaining a number of duration spells all at once."

Zatanna Zatara begins to look a little concerned or uncomfortable when the terms front line combat and threat are used. She looks back to Kaelyn, "You're creating a magical combat armor? Why? Who or what do you anticipate going up against in something like this?" This isn't the kind of magic she uses per se. So this is all rather puzzling.

Kae umms "Well first I was just making a magical suit, was kind of inspired by Tony Stark's Iron Man... " She grins "Then the first flight out, I ended up going out to Jupiter or some such and helping out with this crazy brain stealing or merging entity that was shaped like a star... The suit then wasn't ummm very effective, other than the stars couldn't hit me due to the maneuverability... Offensive powers were limited..." She says and then umms... "Then I kinda ran into some stuff helping out with the Titans, Dr. Light, and this crazy good dude with a sword, and machine guns, and doctor light had these machines that kept me from making new magics... Also I saw the kids with the Titans fight... Sooo I started making improvements to the machine... Oh and pluss everything on the tv's and whatnot too... " Kae adds and shrugs slowly "Lastly, Intergang thugs.. These guys had crazy good energy weapons..."

"Soo I made a determination, my combat abilities -right- now are not up to snuff if I'm gonna jump in and help with this kind of thing... By far I'm best at enchanting and artificing... I havn't built up that 'mental' muscle to really pump out hugely powerful evocation spells and whatnot to deal with big groups and swarms... Soooo I took something that was going to be just an experiment and fun to make and decided to heavily weaponify it..." She says and motions to her armor... "And there it is... It's just one of those 'just in case' things. If I'm in over my head and need some massively heavy muscle I got that."

Zatanna Zatara looks uneasy at the explanation she's given but she just nods. "There's a big difference between playing a hero and being one." Pot. Kettle. But if she's lucky Kaelyn doesn't realize who she is without the tophat, tux, and fishnets. She can dream anyway. "It's impressive. But... fighting? Actually doing something that could kill you? That's a luxury few can afford to indulge in before they're ready. Or their... " she inwardly groans at her impending choice of words, ".. weapon is."

Kae tilts her head "Considering I keep on getting into these things and all, and having to toss out a ton of magic just to keep bystanders, my self or the folks around safe. I thought this would be a good alternatie in case things really get crazy.. Ya know?" She says and grins a bit... "Heck J'onn is helpng me out with it... Was invited twice over to the Hall of Justice, once by J'onn and another by Batman." Kae says cheerfully. "I've gotta get my findings to him anyhoo... " She says and rubs the back of her neck.. "This is dealing with those thugs over the weekend... " Kae then motions to the armor... "Soo am thinking if I really get in trouble, I can do kind of a spot merge, summon it to me and merge with it in one go, and well then I'd be in something that could take a hit for someone maybe...":

Zatanna Zatara offers a nod as Kaelyn lets on that she's interacted with others in the League. She's no less uneasy about someone trying such a suit of armor without testing it, particularly magical armor but if J'onn and Batman know then..." She smiles. "I understand your view. I would just caution to be certain you test it before taking any real chances with it. Transformation and embuing are tricky at best." She laughs, "But you would know better than I from the looks of it anyway."

Kae umms "oh I've allready been in it a half dozen times, took it into combat once... That was an impulsively bad idea..." Kae then grins and winks. "Was stuck in it for like 24 hours and that's before I made the refinements I have... Really at this point it's got a lot in common with Fanhuil there, just maaaaaaaaaaaany times more powerful... Also it doesn't have a life force of its own... It's meant to be piloted and all.. " Kae says and grins a bit... "I'll get it worked out though in the future... I got a lot of help the other day by J'onn and Crusader... they let me take it up to the workshop and I got some detailed scans before and after occupation... They both had the idea of me putting a second and third processing core into it, and giving it the ability to change form... The other configuration is basically almost full on dragon dragon in look, bigger, about oh the size of a small horse, some 15-17 feet long, 20 foot wing span, you name it... That right there, is sooo much easier to get aroun din, and a lot smaller..."

Zatanna Zatara listens and nods. "It sounds like you've got your work cut out for you. Good luck with all of it?" She offers a smile, "I had only planned to stop by quickly to see the store so I should be going but I have no doubt I'll be back again. Take care?"

Kae grins "Do take care, look forward to seeing ya again, Missus Zatanna." She says cheerfully. "There's a roster or roll ther ein the Justice Hall thingie, yer picture and name is all there." She says and grins a bit... "Have fun!"
