Downtime
Date of Scene: 11 September 2017
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Natasha follows Grant to warn him of an impending attack.
Cast of Characters: Grant Ward, Black Widow (Romanoff)

Grant Ward has posed:
It's over. He spent the last six months undercover, and it is finally...over. For six horrible months Grant was Douglas Glass, down-and-out dock worker and widower. Using this persona, he slowly infiltrated the Russian crime syndicate (Possibly with the aid of a certain femme fatale), gaining the trust of an up and coming captain. He used this influence to connect the mob family to the terrorist organization known as the Purifiers, who were working with the syndicate to transport mutant children and young adults into the country for...something. Something horrible.

It's over now, though. SHIELD raided the compound and the ships earlier that day, and Grant took a bullet to the shoulder in the process. Nothing bad, thankfully. He's had worse. Now, relaxing after a miserable, long mission, he sits in his favorite hole in the wall in the city. He's dressed in jeans, work boots, and a red and black flannel over a faded Nirvana shirt, a ballcap tugged low. He takes a long sip from his soda and sighs to himself, the bandaged wound smarting under his clothing. Everything is good again. He can go back to work at SHIELD and return to his little apartment and all...is...good.

Except for the fact that several very angry mobsters escaped custody, and are tracking Grant to this location. The other agents may or may not be aware. They could be arriving to congratulate him, or save him. Either way, he is enjoying his food. Omnom. So good.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
The door opens to admit a figure that he knows some from their working together at the beginning of this case. She was also there earlier in the day, helping take down the ring and free the captives. After the situation was rsolved, there was the relocation of the captives to secure locations for a time. Their families were brougth in for reunions. Until the rest of the group were rounded up, the hostages weren't safe going to their homes. All safe houses and precautions for now.
Natasha never got the chance to speak to Grant personally. It didn't take much for her to track him down, since he wasn't really trying to hide. Then things would get tricky if that's the path he had chosen to take.
Dressed in a pair of black slacks, boots with a low heel and a red buttom up blouse, she looks like most of the other customers. She is wearing a light weight black leather jacket over her shirt though, so all her toys are hidden underneath. He would be able to pick up on the fact she has her twin shoulder holster on underneath, with weapons snuggled near her ribs. Her gauntlets are under her sleeves. Never unarmed, particularly in public. She avoids the counter and moves to his table, sitting herself down across from him without asking. "How's the shoulder?"

Grant Ward has posed:
The redhead could tell he was wearing a shoulder holster as well, but stashed expertly beneath his button-up flannel. He likely had a knife on his ankle, as well, as per the usual. He glances up as she comes into view and he chuckles softly, setting his soda down. He picks up a fry and tosses it back, chewing. You can tell this place is really American, because the shawarma is authentic and amazing...as are the french fries. "Clean through, thankfully. Holly didn't have to dig around to pull this one out. So...it's alright. Popped some extra strength tylenol. Just remind me not to operate any heavy machinery for the next few hours."

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I'm pretty sure there is no such warning on tylenol," Natasha says with a soft chuckle shaking her head. She considers snagging a fry from his plate but she doesn't want to get shot today. Or stabbed. Both likely occurances if she had been undercover for months on end and someone stole her food. It does smell good though and she may have to go order a plate. "But hopefully it won't interfere with your movements much," she adds, pushing back her seat slightly before relaxing back into it in a casual slump. Her expression never changes from that of a friend meeting up with a friend, despite her next words. "We figure that the others who got away probably tracked you as easily as I did. So I'm expecting company. Which I figure it exactly what you did it," she says with a smirk.

Grant Ward has posed:
"I've had worse," he offers in simple reply to it hindering his movements. Sure, it hurts like hell, but Grant is capable of pushing past that, and paying for it later. The agent nods a bit as he listens to her, offering the front and side door casual glances as they talk. He picks up a piece of the meat and dips it in the tahini sauce before tossing it back and using the napkin to clean his hands.
"Nothing's ever easy, is it? I'm assuming Drago and his goons, right?" He's right. "He has a bad left knee from his time breaking rocks back in the gulags, so when he gets in close...go for that. If he has Varich and Cio...Varich pretty much doesn't feel pain. He'll need some real brutality to drop him. Vio has a glass jaw, but is damn quick with his knives."
Grant says this all softly and casually, so anyone watching them assumes they are friends having a simple conversation.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
That earns a soft laugh from the redhead. "Oh, I definitely want Varich then. I'm feeling the need for a bit of stress relief." Something dangerous flashes in her green eyes for a moment before it disappears. She pushes her chair back. "I'm guessing you'd like Drago. Whichever of us that can will deal with Vio. unless you just want to shoot him intead of wasting time with hand-to-hand." In the exact same tone of voice, she continues, "I'm going to get something to eat. Be right back."
With that, she walks over to the counter to place an order. She stands there waiting, turning sideways so she can keep an eye on the doorways while she waits for them to get her plate put together.
