Date of Scene: 12 September 2017
Location: Hell's Kitchen, New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Daredevil, Ravenna Levesque

Daredevil has posed:
This late at night in Hell's Kitchen and the streets are often empty. The little bits of traffic that come and go through the night in that neighborhood spend little time there for the most part, usually on the way to riverside or uptown. But the patterns are easily discerned, learnable, and for a man who observes the world as he does... it's easy for Daredevil to notice the break in that pattern.
A quartet of heavy black SUVs rolling through the streets would be enough to draw attention if someone were to glance out of their apartment window. But this late at night most of the denizens of the neighborhood are asleep or trying to. Most save one, who even at this moment is shadowing the cavalcade as it rolls through the streets, the lights on the sport utes washing over the old store fronts and then the heavy wooden fencing as they pull into the vacant lot that used to serve as a dog park in better days, now just a place where brush has overrun the skeletal frame of what had once been a more pleasant place.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
A few weeks ago Ravenna was called over to Jess' place to help her heal up after a very rough night. So she swung by tonight to make sure everything was healing up as it should. Magical healing can get wounds to heal faster, but it's always good to make sure an infection hadn't set in. Thankfully everything is healing as it should be so she leaves the office slash apartment to head back home.

Stepping out into the street, she can't help but notice the way out of place SUVs. She tilts her head at them and frowns, quickly turning away to change her route away from them. She only gets two steps before her steps are stopped by a black and white cat, who meows loudly at the woman. "Oh I do not think so. You get me into enough trouble Felix." Her French-Canadian accent is thick, especially when talking to the cat.

Daredevil has posed:
In Hell's Kitchen even the cats know when there's the possibility of an easy mark. When one of the humans stops and makes those sounds at another cat, it clearly signifies some measure of sympathy to a degree. Oh most are rather skittish, and flit away at a moment's notice, but another pair of cats, orange and white, have been shadowing Felix... if only to peer and gawk from the mouth of the nearby alleyway. No voice is lifted nor mrowr offered to announce their appearance, though assuredly the familiar knows they're there.
But then that quartet of vehicles, only a few storefronts down the street, draw up and cut the lights. There's a faint ruckus that's heard, accompanied by the slam and thump of doors opening and closing, a few muted words in deep baritone voices.
Yet atop the roof of the old apartment building that overlooks that vacant lot, a dark silhouette stands with its head cocked to the side. To him the world below is unseen yet perceived so clearly. His brow furrows as he senses the distinct raised heartbeats of the nine men down below. Eight of those heartbeats are elevated, their pulse steady with an intensity. But it's the ninth that concerns him, that man who is drawn out of the back of one of those vehicles, whose blindfold is removed by a heavy set man in a three piece suit, whose heartbeat escalates into panic upon seeing him being surrounded by these eight other men...
With no further delay, Daredevil leaps off the side of the building and begins to silently negotiate his way down to the alley, landing with not a sound.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Until recently, Ravenna wasn't a cat person, but Felix is slowing growing on her, which is likely due to the emotional bond that they have. Still she spots the other cats in the alley way and smirks at the cats. "It looks like you found yourself a new girlfriend, or two. It's a good thing I got you fixed." She teases while picking the cat up and setting him on her shoulder. She's about to ignore the suspcious trucks and continue home when Felix launches off of her shoulder and starts chasing after 'something' he saw. She hisses in pain from the claw markrs he leaves behind in haste.

While he may just have normal cat vision, it was the sudden movement of Daredevil that has Felix chasing off in that direction. Or perhaps he really just wants to get his new master into a bit of trouble. Ravenna curses under her breath and chases the cat, trying to catch him before he becomes a pancake in the road. That's when she spots the group of men, and the one who is obviously uncomfortable to be alone. "Felix." She hisses in a whisper. "This is above my pay grade." Now if Jess were here, she'd happy spectate but...

Daredevil has posed:
As she moves forwards, the two cats perk up slightly, but then immediately turn and /run/ back into the shadows of the alleyway, rounding back so that only the faint light from the street lamp limns their eyes in the dark as they watch from a further place of 'safety'. It may be little of remark truly, but on some level... there is an audience now for her and not just her but for Felix as well as he launches off Ravenna's shoulder.
But none of this is noticed by the Devil of Hell's Kitchen nor the group of men in that vacant lot. A robust looking man with a cigar is bracketed by his cadre of men, frowning most severely towards the smaller fellow who was just manhandled out of the back of one of the SUVs. Standing amongst the old refuse from better days, he grimaces.
"This coulda been a nicer relationship, Tommy. You know? We coulda grown into friends over years of shared profits. Hell, the way you got on with my niece, I was figurin' you might marry into the family. But then you go and do this?" The cigar is ashed and he steps back to lean towards one of the men, "Go get me that old tire from over there."
"Sure thing, boss." A larger man grunts and starts to walk over.
Rounding back, the boss looks to Tommy, "I can understand though, when the chips are down, sometimes a man flinches. It's just you know... we can't have that... no flinchin'. So gonna give you another chance here..."
Tommy, for his part, whimpers faintly as one of the larger men puts the old tire over the man's head so it hangs on his shoulders, even as another one of the men pulls a red gallon gasoline jug from the back of the car.
"So here ya go, Tommy. Try not ta flinch."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna Levesque quickly forgets about the audience as she dashes after the cat, frowning when she watches poor Tommy being builled by the other men. The men remind of her of gangsters out of an old movie, only with out the dramatic accents. Still, she glares at the cat, mostly because she's realized that he purposefully gets her into situations that she wouldn't walk away from.

There are too many of them for her to single out and take one on one, she'd be easily overwhelmed. However she might be able to defuse the situation, or cause enough of a distraction to let poor Tommy get away. Since she fears they're about to light an entire tire on fire around his neck, she figures a small storm is going to keep any fire from catching. Hopefully.

It takes a little effort, and some concentration, but Ravenna closes her eyes and focuses on the air around her. The wind picks up, bringing in cooler air from the west, and soon what sky was visible is darkened by thick clouds. The rain starts slowly, leaving a few drops on everyones heads, before the clouds rip open in a full downpour. Thunder rumbles above, but there is no lightning in sight, and the strange thing is, the storm only seems to be happening in above the old dog park.

Daredevil has posed:
There in that little kingdom of a vacant lot, the current ruler scowls at the first few droplets of rain that spatter down upon his perfectly coiffed hair. He grimaces, looking upwards as he holds out a hand trying to catch the rain in hand as it spatters harder and harder. It's when it becomes an actual downpour that he grimaces, "The fuck is this?"
Two of the goons give him a blank look as they pull their coats up a bit, trying to hunker down in their jackets and yet keep to their job. At least one of them has the wherewithal to run back to try and grab an umbrella before the boss can get wet... but he fails as the rainfall. But it does serve to do one thing... as the boss holds his lighter he's unable to get it to flicker to life as the rain and the wind continues to surge around him.
"Ain't you lucky, Tommy..." The man grimaces as he /shoves/ the smaller man into the back of one of those cars, "Your prayers were answered. Too bad it wasn't enough to save ya."
As the boss pulls a pistol from inside his jacket, at least the wind and the rain was enough to keep the man from burning to death...
But that's the moment when from the shadows there is a whirl as something slashes across the distance to smash into the man's wrist, caroming off and to the side to ricochet into one of the henchmen's noggins, sending the two men sprawling even as a dark silhouette drops from above amongst them.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
A satisfied smile crosses Ravenna's lips as the rain falls and their plan appears to be thwarted. She turns to Felix, who looks very grumpy that he is stuck in the rain, and his one fluffy furn is now wet and matted toward his body, giving him the appearance of a drowned rat. "Satisified?" She says to the cat, but the non verbal response she receieves only make her smirk grow.

It fades when she realizes that she's saved him from one fate, only to subject him to another. It'll be a quicker death, but death all the same. "Fuck." She whispers, as she reaches her hand out and squeezes it into a fist. Just as she's about to call down a bit of lightning, that object flies through the air to attack the others. She turns, trying to find the source of it, and her eyes land on the dark shadow. Frowning she holds back her magic, unsure if this is a new threat or a potential ally.

Daredevil has posed:
In a whirl of movement, the dark silhouette of the masked man is hidden at points by the hefty girth of some of those men who are all reacting at various speeds. Some are taken aback by the sudden appearance and the felling of their boss who is holding his hand to his chest and cursing steadily and animatedly even as he clutches the broken joint to himself and reels. The other man who had been struck is down and out like a light, leaving the six other men who are rapidly overcoming their shock...
But not before the man in black and red kevlar and leather has made them pay for their inattention. An errant punch is thrown by one man purely on instinct that only serves to give Daredevil a point of leverage as he twists, turns, and throws the man heavily into another, sending the two sprawling to slam into the base of the wall of the building beside that lot. Several others are moving in, one suffering a blurringly fast kick to the side of his jaw that snaps his head around cleanly as he hits the turf, but giving his compatriot enough time to dive in and try to tackle the armored man...
Yet while all of that's happening, two of the men are each drawing pistols, trying to take a bead on the melee even as they track the man, trying to find an opening to open fire.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna has no idea who this shadow is, but they seem to be doing well for themselves. Their movement is so quick, that she has trouble keeping her eye on him through the storm. He's a great fighter, but as she expected with taking these goons on herself, there may be more than one person can handle. She sneaks closer, leaving Felix behind, who has taken shelter on a near by dry stoop.

The flash of metal from the other goons who are not engaged with the Shadowy figure catches Ravenna's eye. She frowns as she pulls magic around her hand again. The whole area fills the the smell of ozone, and with out a warning a bolt of lightning arcs between the two men. Powerful enough to hopefully knock them out, or at the very least, knock them down.

Daredevil has posed:
Usually when the Daredevil faces a group of armen men, it's a rough battle, contentious and difficult as he has to overpower them each in turn, and even with his gifts it can be an iffy proposition that has more than once ended with him nursing an injury or two as he limped off and departed the scene...
But tonight, when the lightning was called, answering the whispered entreaties of the sorceress that let it free to dance between the two firearms in their hand and cause their bodies to contract in rhythmic contortions as the electricity blasts trough them... it has a reaction unlike what he's seen before from the armed miscreants.
There was that short sharp /crack/ of the bolt striking, and for a moment it causes the masked man to stagger to the side, allowing the one man to recover from that haymaker of a punch Daredevil had just thrown... but the flash, the boom, all of it served to prey upon the primal mind of those villains and those few remaining that were able to...
    They ran.
Shrieks and screams came from them as the three remaining conscious men rush to the gate of that vacant lot and leap over it, running as fast as they can. One of them even dashes right past Ravenna, perhaps unaware as to the part she played tonight in their ignominious defeat...
And once they're gone it leaves the unconscious men upon the ground, that armored man still staggered somewhat as he shakes his head... and the poor victim who tries to scream through the gag that binds his mouth. The vigilante staggers over to him and tells him, "It's ok... it's ok now..."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"Well that's one way to end a party." Ravenna says to herself as she watches the men run off, afraid of a rain and lightning. She doesn't seem to mind at all that she's being rained on, as her hair sticks to her face. She doesn't mind that they ignore her as they run off, it's probably better in the long run that it appears to be a freak accident and not a Sorceress.

Seeing the man still staggering and trying to get his bearings, she reaches over and jolts him as well. Nothing as powerful as what she just used, but strong enough to get him to take a nap. Finally she turns toward Tommy and gives him a once over, checking for injuries and helping with the gag. "I have a feeling you're probably going to want to leave town." It's then she turns toward Daredevil, giving the man in Red a raise of her brow. "Evening."

Daredevil has posed:
Tommy, once the gag is drawn free, he comes apart as he breaks down into a steady stream of thanks given to the two of them, trying to tell them his part of what passed. "I had no idea this guy was some sort of mob boss, I install /windows/ for crying out loud. I barely talked to his niece! I don't have any idea how this happened!"
Yet even as the poor guy breaks down, the man in the armored suit guides him to the side to help him sit down on the old remains of a park bench that's lost half of its slats but still at least has some structural integrity. "Take it easy. You're safe now." The man's voice is low, a bit of a roughness to it. But he steps to the side, turning his head slightly as if looking past Ravenna's shoulder when he addresses her.
"That was some trick. Yours?" He asks as he kneels beside two of the downed men, withdrawing a zip tie from his belt and binding their hands together even as distantly a police vehicle's siren can be heard.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"They don't always have a pin stripe suit and carry a tommy gun." Ravenna says gently before she takes a step back from the two men. She focuses for a moment before the rain slowly stops, but the clouds still linger over head. "I'm sure that was practically a wedding engagement to these guys. Still, you've literally dodged a bullet, you're probably going to need to lay low, for a long time. Possibly forever." Unless these guys get arrested, which is when she hears the sirens and frowns. There is really only so much she can explain away.

Turning to Daredevil she clears her throat and nods her head. "Yeah, that was me. It's not something I advertise, but I don't have the punching power you do." She does try to catch his eye, since he doesn't seem to be looking at her directly.

Daredevil has posed:
The way he stands, it's clear he's paying attention to her, the subtle tension in his stance, the tautness in the lines of his jaw. But the lenses in his mask hide his eyes, no hint of an iris to catch her gaze back even as he gains his feet fully, drawing himself to his full height. In the dim light from the street lamps the droplets from the rain catch just a hint of the light, but she can make out the lines of the curious armor plates and the holster for the baton just off his hip. A curious sort, but just a man.
"Well then, thank you for the assist." He says as he steps past her, turning his shoulders to slip to the side as he moves towards one of the men she had zapped initially. Those two with the scorch marks also get their own zip ties to bind them in place even as he frowns momentarily for some reason.
Back to her he gives a small nod, "I imagine you're as inclined to have a long drawn out conversation with the police as I am." He murmurs then turns back towards her.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
There is a clean scent in the air left behind from the rain, and Ravenna finally pushes some of her wet hair out of her face. She looks him over, but doesn't see any visable injuries on him, but than again he looks to be well protected. Still, he's just a normal man, at least as far as her eyes can see. "Blame my cat, he dashed off after you I think. But honestly I couldn't sit back and watch him be tortured like that." Even if she'd rather not be so flashy with her magic.

When he looks to be leaving, she reaches into her purse quickly and pulls out a slim card, holding it out to him. She has no idea that he can't really see her, but seems to at least be polite. "I have other skills, if you find yourself moderately injured and not wanting to visit a hospital, you can call the number on this card."

Daredevil has posed:
The man in red shifts slightly to the side, looking as if he were making sure that they were alone... as alone as two people can be in such a city... with five or so unconscious people around them and one that's recovering from an intense amount of stress. But it takes a moment and then he seemingly chooses to accept the card, a gauntleted hand reaching out and two fingers catching the corner of it. He draws it back, thumb brushing the surface for a bare moment before he tucks it into a small slit of a pocket in the side of his suit.
"I suppose it couldn't hurt to be in touch with someone who can call on the weather." He turns to the side to more fully be in line with her, the curve of his mouth lifting into a ghost of a smile as he murmurs, "Even if she's a cat person." Just a mild twinge of disparagement against the felinian, but the sting perhaps banished by that half-smile.
Lifting one hand he gestures to the side, "I'm going to keep watch from up there. In case something happens before the police get the situation under control." He turns back to face Tommy who has dug out his cellphone and is telling all his troubles to whomever is on the other end. But then Daredevil turns back to her, "I recommend you beat feet unless you want to spend your entire evening being looked at funny by men in blue uniforms."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Felix finally comes out from under the stoop, having attempted to groom out some of the rain from his fluffy fur, he meows as if to egg on to move toward home where he can be properly dried and pampered. "Don't mind my aunt if she answers, but she has aways to get ahold of me if I am not in her shop." The card is for a local occult shop, with a unlisted number and her name embossed on the back.

"I do have other talents as well, but storm calling it the flashiest." She smirks right back and scoffs. "I wasn't either, but sometimes life makes decisions for you. He's not half bad, when he isn't hangry." Which is apparently all the time according to him. "You keep watch, I'll get myself out of here. It was nice to meet you..." She trails off, realizing that neither of them have intoduced themselves.

Daredevil has posed:
She has no way of telling that he could very subtly read the subtle marks upon the cards, the faint chasms upon the surface created by the pressure of the print and the subtle differentiation between unmarked area and the ink that offers her name to those normally so gifted with sight. So it may come as no surprise when he tells her, "I will be in touch, Ms. Levesque," The armored man says as he steps back a pace, another even as he plants a foot upon a green garbage bin and uses it as a point to vault up to the low hanging fire escape.
"Until then, it was good working with you."
That having been said he turns and makes the leap upwards, flipping over the side of the fire escape and then bouncing off the wall to help catapult himself up, over the lip of the rooftop, and then out of view.
