It might be early in the school year, but at least one senior takes her studies pretty seriously. Danielle 'Dani' Moonstar is sitting at a table, books open and around her as she also has a large sheet of paper laid out, some drawings on it that almost, to the untrained eye, resemble a football play diagram. Though someone more familiar with tactics might recognize the symbols meaning various New Mutants or other students as she's working on strategy. In addition to her other schoolwork, that is.
Life? What's that, exactly?
- Cyclops has posed:
Light taps on the hardwood floor echo down the halls, a young man enters into the Study Hall. Not the most popular of places to be, but Scott had been as dedicated as the other occupant of the Hall is. Dani Moonstar gets a smile and a nod from Scott as he walks in, opting to take a seat in front of the student.
"How are you today, Dani?" He offers, not having looked at what she was working on, but he would most likely catch a peek soon.
- Moonstar has posed:
There's a blink, then a smile, "Oh, Mister Summers! Uh, hi!" She looks a bit sheepish, "Just was doing a little bit of work, to catch up on a few things. Was thinking of some new things to try with the team of students, since... well, I liked how we've been doing. But I know we can do better." Because they aren't perfect yet, and she wants them to be perfect.
- Cyclops has posed:
Scott takes a look down at the diagram, noting the movements and her markings. "Not bad, planning on using it in my new Danger Room scenario?" He offers, looking back at the student.
"And looking forward to graduation?" Smiling again, remembering his senior year, a bit more rambunctious than he was now, having Bobby there as a bad influence in pranking can have that effect.
- Moonstar has posed:
Dani grins, "Yeah, figured that'd be something to try, especially with the newer students." She hrms, and looks over at Scott, "Definitely looking forward to graduating. Though... still not quite sure about what I want to do afterwards. Part of me wants to still be a vet, but..." She trails off, looking a little indecisive, which is odd enough for her.
- Cyclops has posed:
Scott looks a little pensive for a moment, looking to Dani afterwards. "I'll give you a nickels worth of free advise, you don't have to know what you want to do when you graduate. Hopefully you know what area you want to go into, but college is all about finding yourself."
"I'm just glad some of us want to be more than what happens down in the basement." Honest truth from Scott there, while he doesn't discourage anyone from being an X-Man, he just likes to let everyone choose their own path.
- Moonstar has posed:
Dani chuckles, "Well, I'll be honest... I wouldn't mind being part of that, but I wouldn't want to presume you'd think I would measure up for it either." Granted, she's confident she would, but she's also not gonna assume anything either.
Dani then smiles, "But after doing some of the stuff we've been doing, whether we wanted to or not... well, it's a bit hard to go to just regular college or something and not be doing this too, you know?"
- Cyclops has posed:
"That's only a decision you can make for yourself. But considering your recent performance in live situations...that option is open to you too." Scott admits, Dani had worked very well in the field, he'd told the other members of the team that much.
- Moonstar has posed:
Dani actually blushes a little at that, "You mean, that you'd actually have me as an... well..." She doesn't quite say it, but then she says, firmly, "I'll make sure not to let you down, Mister Summers." And she means it, too, even as she continues, "Though, I guess I could go to college and be in the... um..."
- Cyclops has posed:
"That is if you had wanted. It's a choice for after you graduate." Rules were rules, and that one was one that Scott enforced, let the students be that. There's plenty of time for being an X-Man later. "I'd say your education should come first, of course."
Ruby glasses were adjusted a little before continuing. "Anyway, that's my shpiel."
- Moonstar has posed:
Dani grins, "Well, yeah, of course. But still... well, thanks Mister Summers. I appreciate the talk." She hmms, looking over her tactical plans, "Ill need to rethink a few things, to adjust for the new students and what they can do. Maybe throw some surprises at your latest simulation." Her lips quirk into a wry expression, as she seems to have just gotten inspiration.
- Cyclops has posed:
"You're welcome." Scott says back, being most sincere. Before Dani sparks Scott's competitive spirit. "Oh? Think you can take down my best scenario?" A slight wry smirk appears on the field leader's face. "I'm sure you and the others will do great."
- Moonstar has posed:
Dani gives Scott a wolfish expression, "Yeah, well, no one thought they could take out the Kobayashi Maru scenario either." Her grin grows a bit, "So we'll see how that goes, Mister Summers. I'm confident in my teammates and what they can do. We've been working together pretty closely the past few weeks."
