Cast of Characters: Rogue, Vincent Black

Rogue has posed:
Its afternoon in Manhattan and Rogue was setup at NYU. Her class load wasn't very big though, just a few classes to start with and she was just fine with that.

It was sunny out and Rogue is hanging out in Washington Square Park outside of the NYU campus. She's got her skateboard with her and is just rolling her way down on eof the trails with her backpack on her shoulders and her hoodie tied around her waist. She's got a dark green tanktop on some dark blue jeans, some new black nike's on her feet with little white 'swooshes' on the sides. ("I'mma call my hair a 'swooh'" Rogue had tweeted out shortly after buying them).

Reaching a bench near the center of the park, Rogue kicked her board up and then sat down and pulled her backpack off her shoulders to root around inside it...

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent was down at NYU today, using some of their lab equipment for an investigation he was working on, but at the moment, the samples are in the lab, and he's gathering his thoughts on the case.

The antique of a man is walking through the park, with a wad of napkins held between his hand and an oversized slice of pizza. He lifts it up to take a bite careful to keep it from dropping pepperoni or wasting a single string of cheese.

Vince wears a black jacket with his badge on a long chain around his neck resting just over his belly and a blue and white checkered shirt beneath that. He's walking slowly until he sees her. His heart skips a beat and his legs stop working. The detective can't move another step and even has his knees give out beneath him, causing him to drop down, landing on his hip. Thankfully he saved the pizza at least.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue pulls a portal Nintendo device-thing out of her backpack and sets her bag aside and then goes to hold the gaming-thing up and switch it on. She has her braclet on so its got her powers under control, but she has her gloves tucked into her belt on her jeans just-in-case she needs to take the arm-band off.

A few people go to help the cop that just fell to his knees about fifteen feet away, and it takes Rogue a minue to even look up... But she does. The brown and white hair on her head flowing about her face in the afternoon winds, she just stares past the white strands that cross over her nose and mouth, staring at Vincent with a confused look on her eyes. Yeah, it was the girl he once knew, only about 7 years younger... and she had no idea who he was.

Rogue watched the people offering help to him, but then looked back down to her Nintendo, cause she had some serious Mario Karting to do.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent is quickly helped to his feet and thanks the people who helped with a few soft words and nods too, but quickly people get back to doing what they were doing. The cop remains behind, looking at Rogue, knowing that he shouldn't say anything, or even approach the girl he once-- twice-- knew. He should just let the girl be herself, who she is and who she's meant to be.

That is not the same girl he knew before and he knows it but-- "You have such unique hair." Always remembering that streak of white and her love/hate relationship with it.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue was in the process of losing a race when she heard a voice comment on her hair. "Uh huh." She replied to the voice while shooting a red shell at some weeb with an a anime name, which made her grin nice and big! "Its one hundred percent all-natural, all me... sugah." She said, without even looking up at whoever said it to her. It was the kinda thing he'd likely expect her to say, but with a bit more teenage bravado and arrogance in the way she delivered it.

With a heavy sigh at coming in 5th Place, Rogue sat her gaming tablet back down onto her lap and finally looked up at him. She saw it was the stumbling guy. "Forget t'tie your shoes, Miste'ah?" She asked him, looking up at him again and reaching up with her right hand to pull her hair out of her face.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent was just paying a compliment as he passed by, trying to straighten his mind after the chance encounter with the woman he's literally gone through time to simply talk to, but he was trying to be polite, innocent and just another face in the crowd but it seems she's not done with him.

"Nah, I'm pretty sure the earth moved beneath my feet." Quoting a lyric from a song he heard life times ago, or last week, it's hard to keep straight sometimes. Vince looks back to her with a soft smile as his brown eyes look only at her greens and he's speaking again before he realizes.

"Did you win?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue thought it was a song lyric, but she wasn't sure. She just smiled at him faintly and shook her head at his question. "Nah." She said, laughing short and soft. "I can't compete against these nerds on the internet. They sit here all day playin' this shit competitively... I'm just a diarty casual." She looked up again at the older amn and grinned at him. She LOOKED young too, like her face and body hadn't filled out nearly as much as the older version that he'd known. She lacked the muscle tone and maturity in the lines of her face.

"And don't go around jokin' about the Earth movin'. Cause before ya know it, some fuck-wit'll actually make that happen, and then a buncha caped weirdos will have t'all go 'nd try'n fix it." She showed another little grin then.

Vincent Black has posed:
"Those virgin nerds." Said Vincent in agreement with Rogue's opinion of people playing too many video games with a simple shrug going along with his words, before he takes a bite of his slice and savors the way it melts in his mouth before working on another bite. As he's eating, he's listening to her talk, enjoying the sound of her mostly familiar voice more than the greasy food.

"Don't you know it. It's the little folk that wind up suffering the most. Those that try to be quiet, take care of themselves and each other. They're the people that are forgotten by the 'greater'"- He says with air quotes. "people that can do so much but seem to think that their ideals are more correct than folk like us." Vince just opens up to Rogue in an oddly existential way, not even meaning to.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue smirked up at the older man as he said all of this, she could see he was like... twenty years older than her and just figured he was lonely and thought she was pretty so he was chatting her up. There were a lot of people in Manhattan, and a lot of the men eyeballed her or tried to talk to her. Even depending on the part of town she ventured into, she'd get comments here and there from people passing her by, but THOSE were usually guys much closer to her age... she'd punched a few of them in the past.

"Fuckin' people!" Was Rogue's over-dramatic response, just grinning then as she glanced back down to her gaming device, her head shaking and her hair blowing in the wind out behind her, while her ghostly-bangs just fluttered around on either sides of her face.

"They're the absolute worst!" She was still grinning, but wasn't entirely sure how to strike up a conversation with a stranger who MIGHT be a creeper.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vince too wasn't sure how to strike up a conversation without being a creeper, so he nodds once and says, "I hope you have a good day and stay out of trouble Marie."

He turns around and starts to head out of the park without catching his own slip up and takes a bite of his pizza as his feet seem to have started working again and carries him through the park in a round about way towards the campus.

Rogue has posed:
"Yeah, you too." Rogue said back at the man as he started to leave. But a couple of seconds later, the southern girl looked up again with peering eyes and a furrowed brow. "Wait, what?" She said, seeing him several steps away now.

Marie jammed the handheld into her backpack, picked up her skateboard and threw the backpack onto her shoulder and she started to run after the man. "Hey, wait a second!" She shouted at him. She now suspected he was with the weirdos in Paris who were leaving bloodied playing cards around, trying to get her to join them in some strange assassins guild like what Remy was in, though she didn't understand the full depth of the thieves guild.

"Hey!" She said, going to grab at his elbow. "How the hell do you know my name!" She said at him in an irritated voice. Rogue had been through a lot in the past month... she was short on patience.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent's elbow is easy enough to grab and he's turned around without issue and he looks like a deer in headlights. He knows he messed up, but this was something he's planned in his mind several times over the last decade at least.

"I work in Westchester." The man says, lifting his necklace with his badge on it, and still careful to not drop whats left of his lunch.

"I was certain I'd seen you in the station once or twice, or the head guy at that school, Xavier might have mentioned you once or twice when he'd come by." It was a bluff, but with enough facts right that might convince her. Maybe.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue HAD been in the Police Station earlier this summer... So when he said this she just released his elbow and took a step back, a look of confused acceptance on her face. "Oh." She said back at him. A light nod given. "Right."

Rogue wasn't a big fan of cops, she'd met a lot of skeevy ones in her travels around North America, a lot of them had given her just as much of a hard time as any one else.

"Sorry." Marie said at him then and she put her right hand up onto her backpack strap and turned to walk back toward the north where NYU's campus was on the other side of the park. "Uh, have fun out there." She said back at the middle aged man.

Vincent Black has posed:
Vincent just nods and pulls his arm back and breathes a sigh of relief. "I'm the one who's sorry." He whispers to himself as she walks away and he slowly turns to look up, over the tree tops and buildings, up to the skies, wondering why life likes to shit on him.

He really should get back to work, but he sighs again and looks lost in the full green park.
