Cast of Characters: Superman, Kaelyn Silverleaf, Andromeda

Superman has posed:
The sun's not quite touching the horizon when a figure in blue and red drops from the sky to alight softly on the sidewalk outside Kaelyn's store.

A moment later, Superman steps through the front door slowly, looking around the showroom.

"This looks like the right place," he says in a cheerful voice, and then he steps toward the register, hands clasped behind his back.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
--->>> Room Desc! <<<---

The Enchanted Grounds, Coffee shop, Occult and New Age store is one interesting place. The front quarter of this amazingly deep shop is dominated by a checkout counter, and well a coffee shop and reading lounge too? There is a full service coffee shop opposite the checkout counter, this more of a kyosk style rather than just a coffee bar set against the wall, as a big chunk of the counter swings out into the floor. The wall behind the counter is dominated with shelf after shelf of cofee tea, a soda fountain. There's even an ice cream freezer. Lets not forget the back side of the counter has a few sandwitch grills and a couple fat friers. Seem this place is also a bit of a cafe. There's also a baked goods display, and some refrigerated cases that have cheese and nut mixtures, cold sandwitches, fruit trays. And to the left of that? A quartet cauldron looking pots that probably have the soups of the day.

There are plenty of small tables, a couple larger round tables, and couch areas kind of scattered throughout the shop as a whole, and row after row of shelves.. Some of these along the walls many form isles, the whole place is layed out like some kind of fun labrynth of gizmos, goodies, magical supplies, and many many books. Some are new age, some are sci-fi and fantasy related books. The gigantic turntable shelf in the back has reprints of rare antique books. Half of that turtable shelf sits in the wall of the building, evidently they load the thing from the back. There are also plenty of touchscreen tablets near displays showing some of the more expensive books, as well as a quartet of computers, and 2 more tablets that list the antique books the store currently has in stock. Evidently they don't leave those really pricy books and items out front where anyone can handle them. Two sometimes three helper scan be seen moving about the place. You have Wendy, a blond girl choosing to wear a kind of witches getup behind the cofee counter.. Tanya who likes to tend the register and help customers find things. She's dressed like some kind of sorceress, and Tina, Tanya's Twin who well, she's dressed the same way and acts like a go between from Tanya to Wendy.

All in all the store is a unique blend of different idealogies that someone has found a way to fit together into a nice large-ish botique and coffee cafe. There is another thing in the area that might grab folks attention though, in the far back there's a large ornate iron and heavy wood door with the words "Employees only" written in fine script across the door its self. The other neat feature of the building are the front windows, these being made of stained glass instead of clear glass panes... The designes of the stained glass resemble occult symbols, as do the bars in front of the stained glass.

--- My pose! ---

And as the rather famous individual in blue and red walks into the door with a cheerful Tina looks up from the counter as she starts talking "Hello, welcome to Ench... ant... ed..... Grounds...." She slows down as she realizes who's walked in and stares a moment, caught between wanting an autograph and doing her job... "Boss?!? Kae?? Umm, Superman's come to visit!" She calls out...

Meanwhile in the back, the door being open and all, there's a thud, and an off and before long a bedraggled Kae walks out, a bit dusty and having an open book for a hat.. "Who?!?" she calls and then Tanya calls out evenly "Superman's here! YOu should probably handle this one Boss!" Kae then blinks and dusts her pants off, and walks up front, and yah she still has a large tome for a hat, and now has picked up her little artificed dragon who's well riding on top of the book as the redhead looks up at Supes and blinks "Uhh, yah, hi! Welcome to Enchanted grounds!" The little brass and nickle scaled living automaton, though he looks quite like a regular living dragon with a few minute things hinting he's probably didn't come from an egg, chirps at Superman and tilts its head to the side.

Andromeda has posed:
Another figure, this one also in reds and blues - but opposite to the Man of Steel - a red runic, a blue pleated skirt, and a long blue cape attached with great golden discs appears in the sky over the shop as well.
It's a girl. "Superman!" she calls urgently. "Wow. Superman. This is a lucky day." she mutters to herself, and then she lands and tries to follow him into the shop.

Superman has posed:
The Man of Steel gently places his hands on the countertop and offers a wide smile to the store's employees and proprietor. "Good evening," he says calmly. "I'm dealing with a rather unusual problem, and I was hoping you could help me out."

Superman looks over his shoulder toward the various products on display. "Do you take commissions for ... unique items? I understand that this sort of thing may be in your purview."

"Specifically, I--" He stops as another figure lands outside, his super-hearing picking up the arrival before the woman steps inside. "Looking for me?" Superman asks, eyebrows rising. "How can I help?"

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel stares around the room a moment. "This is _amazing!_" bursts out of her. "I never thought I would see things like this outside of a mus..." but then Superman is talking to _her_. Of course, she did call for him.

"Yes!" she says, stepping closer. "I'm Laurel Ga... uh, Andromeda. I came to tell you..." and she stares at him a moment, a stupid grin on her face. "You're bigger than I thought. Prettier too." and she starts to reach out to touch the Chest of Steel but blinks and slaps her own hand. "No."

"We've... we being my friends and I... we've seen some strange and powerful energy signals. We think they're dimensional portals. There've been two that we've noticed in as many days and looking back there've been others, but farther apart. It's probably not natural. This could be bad."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae glances from spiderman to Laurel and back again curously, kind of at a loss... "Umm yaaah, we make lots of interestng things here... I need to know exactly what you want? I also imagine you want something not usualy asked for by the normal clientel?" she asks curiously, and her eyes shift to Laurel now curiously and blinks "Well I travel via gate all the time, but you're referring to the boom tunnels and such being used to transmit things for this Darkseid fellah?"

Kae's eyes now travel to Superman curiously. "But yes we make custom artifacts and such.. I imagine you'd need one that doesn't require a mage to power it, so something with limited use, or even rechargeable and having its own Arcane power source?" she asks curiously and then smiles. Meanwhile the little dragon on Kae's book hat climbs out to the very edge and leans over it, looking Kae in the eye before making a little burbling noise... (think Toothless happy noise) Kae jumps a bit and blushes as she carefully tugs the book off her head, along with the little construct creature.

Superman has posed:
"Well, thank you for the compliment, miss," Superman says with a brief chuckle. He places his hands on his hips as Laurel continues. "Dimensional portals..."

He nods his head in thought for a moment. "That certainly makes sense. And here I'd made the mistake of assuming the signals were the echos of sentient nebula communication from across the galaxy."

Then, Superman shakes his head. "I'm sorry for that. But you're clearly on the case! I'm happy to assist. Oh," he adds, turning back to Kaelyn. "Yes. This is less of a priority, but I was hoping for a pair of goggles. I need to see nightmares. In particular, the nightmares of another being."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae umms and nods to Superman, blinking, another project yay! Kae tilts her head and after a moment. "Ok, some quick questioning here.. you need it to work on a number of people, one person 3? How many uses do you need? As there's a number of ways to do this... " she says and then ummms, "I imagine I could just make ya some glasses that do what you want, but I might be able to get you a better effect with some more specifics.... I can also make em look like plane normal glasses too..." she says and smiles a bit

Kae then glances to Tanya "Need some of that persian silicate and grab some goblin brass too..." She then motions to the back room.. "If you will?" She asks the two and starts to head that way...

Andromeda has posed:
Laurel's brows furrow as Kaelyn explains about Darkseid and the 'boom tunnels'. "You already know a lot about this, then?" she wonders. "I guess that's good. Maybe you can help Superman and the Justice League, then. I think we're still analyzing the data... well, I'm really not sure what Brainy does in his lab."

A look back to Superman. "At least you know. I'm sorry for interrupting you on your time off." she says. She's being invited along and so she follows.

Superman has posed:
Looking at Kaelyn, Superman nods. "Of course. Optimally, it'll only ever need to be used once--but the longer the potential duration of that use, the better. I'll be wearing them ... and I'll be trying to better understand the nightmares plaguing a Malgovian slaughter worm. So, ah, the nightmares of something not human in the slightest."

He turns back to Laurel and places a hand on her shoulder. "It's no trouble at all. I'm glad to be of service. We're all in this together, after all. And what better way to prepare than together?"

Superman drops his hand and takes a step back. "By the way, that's a great outfit." Then, he's off to follow Kaelyn.

"'Boom tubes,' you say?" he asks.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae nodnods "Yus, this is information I got from this Barda lady... Though J'onn and I think the King of the underwater stuff was there... So was a super lad or power kid or whatever? Another Kryptonian, just really young." she says and rubs at the back of her neck briefly before opening the door into the back and making her way to one of the many desks back there. She pulls a what amounts to a large copper pot out of the desk's central drawer, howe it fit there is beyond comprehendng.. nevermind the fact that this back area should only be about a 4th the size of the front and this area appears bigger, and there's a basement?

Of course the whole building reeks of magic and all... Kae sets the copper round bottom pot on the desk, right in a circled pentacle.. The round bottomed pot should tilt over but it doesn't. And Kae gets up to go over to a cnc mill of all things. She then motions to the pot. "Suspend 2 inches higher." Then her hand and eyelevel lowers to the pentacle. "Heat..." And at this point it's obvious the pot is starting to heat...

Kae glances to Superman and nods... "Ok I'll try to put something into the enchantment to translate incoming information into something you can understand... " Kae says with a smile...

Superman has posed:
"Whatever you think is best," Superman replies to Kaelyn. "And it sounds like I've got a few individuals to contact for more details on the 'boom tubes' you mentioned." He allows himself a soft sigh.

"Miss...?" Superman asks, gesturing to Laurel. "I'm so very sorry. I didn't catch your name. You said you and your friends had discovered something about these tube signals as well? Do your findings match up?"

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae glances to Laurel and umms "Yah, anyway this Barda lady calls them boom tubes, when they open up they're quite loud, they make a sonic boom when they rip the hole between realities." Kae says and as the pot continues to heat, Tanya now shows up and pours two cups of fine silicate into the pot... Kae then glances back and nods... "Non included sea quartz, one of those, I need 2 small magic cores, and some brain coral as well." She says and then Kae also goes down stairs while the Cnc mill starts to warm up. After a while, Kae returns with a number of jars, and Tanya runs out front and returns with the stones that were asked for. Each of the natural stones are dropped in turn into the pot, while Kae sets to crushing up the other ingredients and carefully adding those into the pot as well. Tanya returns with the two 'cores' these looking like faintly glowing aquamarines. Kae carefully sets them next to the cnc mill, before she adds the other ingredients to the pot before she simply orders it... "Final heat, 1500 farenheight, crush, mix..." she says and if one were to look into it, the minerals are instantly rendered powder and all brought to a dull red hot before swirling together rapidly. Kae then looks at the pot and says simply "Split contents equally, then cool." she says to the pot. Again if one were to look inside they'd see the red hot liquid glass split into equal sphereoids the right size to make a lense, then cool.

Kae walks back over and neatly plucks the two objects out of the pot. Before she holds them up and grins at the perfectly transparant glass. "You'll have about 10 uses, a use hasn't a time limit per say, but I don't recommend more than 2 hours at a time." She says and smiles slightly before she sets the lenses into the cnc, clamps them in place and sets the machine to selecting tools and starting to cut the lenses.

Andromeda has posed:
"We're still looking at the data, I think."" she says. "I'm Laurel. Laurel Gand." she drops the codename. This is Superman, after all. "I..." and she wrinkles her nose. "Did you hear something?" and she cocks her head, listening again. "Hmm."

Superman has posed:
"Laurel. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Superman," Superman says, extending a hand for a handshake.

As he does so, he nods to Kaelyn. "That would be swell." He offers a smile at Kaelyn. "I'm sure it'll be just fine with these parameters. What do I owe you?" he asks, and then turns his head at the same time as Laurel.

"I need to go. But I'll return as soon as I can for payment and collection of the goggles. Thank you."

Then, he disappears in a streak of red and blue.

Andromeda has posed:
"I _defintely heard... an explosion!" Laurel adds, and then Superman is gone. "Hey! Wait for me!" and she's gone too.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae blinks quietly and ummms... She then holds up her phone with a little light beeping on a map. "I was just gonna take us there if you guy didn't mind following through a gate..."
