Wonder Woman has posed:
Evening at the Embassy on a weekend. This had been a fairly quiet weekend day at the Manhattan Embassy building, Diana usually hosted events here during the weekends but this particular day had gone unscheduled for any such major public outfits. She had gone off-property for an appearance at a women's shelter, but when that wrapped up she'd simply returned and had the place prepared for when Kaldur was scheduled for arrival.

Kaldur would be met at the front door by one of the Themysciran women who was staying at the Embassy with Diana. There were three Themysciran women in the United States - other than Diana - and they were all assigned to the Princess to assist her and learn from her and the rest of man's world.

The Amazon who lead Kaldur to Diana's office through the old Manhattan mansion was a dark haired woman who was quite tall and intimidating to most people, she didn't say much but she did smile and was friendly.

Diana's office was on the eastern side of the Embassy, double doors opened to the office - which was also a library - and within it she was seated at her desk, her back straight and her hands on a laptop. Diana was wearing a crimson red top with long sleeves that went all the way down to her wrists and her black hair was tied into a ponytail that was draped over the front of her left shoulder.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur does it properly when he arrives. Not just his passport, but the signet that marks him as member of the Atlantean diplomatic delegation. It's not that there's official business, or even that he suspects Diana might reject him if not for the formal trappings of title.

It's just that Kaldur is that sort of a stickler for protocol.

Welcomed into the Embassy, the Atlantean youth surrenders his Water Bearers before walking through security. Diana is, after all, royalty; one does not go armed in the presence of a Princess without her permission. He seems unruffled by the reception from the cool, tall Amazon, and follows her diligently towards Diana's office.

Once permitted inside, he pauses long enough to bow towards Diana with respectful greeting. "Good day, Princess Diana," he says, his tone composed and professional-- but he flickers a smile at her, clearly pleased to see the woman again. "I hope the day finds you well. This isn't an inconvenient hour, I hope?" he asks politely.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would take her eyes off of her work on the laptop and then rise up to smile at Kaldur as he stepps into the room and speaks. "No, of course not." She says back at him, extending her right hand over the desk toward him. "Welcome to Manhattan as well. Have you had much experience here in this city? It is my second favorite, behind Metropolis." She showed a little grin.

Rislie stood at the doorway with the Water Bearers and she looked over them quite curiously... but she turned and stepped back out of the office, leaving the doors open.

"Can I get you something to drink?" Diana asked further then, nodding toward the small kitchenette in the corner. "Lots of options." She added with a little smile.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur shakes Diana's hand, firmly, and flickers a smile at the woman. Subtle and controlled, but sincere. "Not much of New York-- only Queens," Kaldur confesses. "I understand they are quite different cities, though I could not point out the border between them."

He seats himself at her invitation, but the offer of a drink stymies the Atlantean. "Er... whatever you're having," he says, erring on the side of caution. Better than than making a fool of himself! He rests his hands on his knees, watching Diana move around her office; she goes beyond mere dexterity and into the realms of grace itself. It's hard not to observe.

"I hope this is not an inconvenient time," Kaldur tells Diana. "This is a ... social call," he ventures. "Nothing of major import."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana did move about her desk, she had a flowing white skirt on hwer lower half that whipped about her legs as she went toward the drinks. A grin was on her red painted lips that matched the shade of her top and she nodded her head while gathering up two simple drinking glasses. "It is quite remarkable how one can step across the border of one area into another and suddenly find themselves in a completely new place." She said while dropping some ice into the glasses.

"And you chose the perfect time for a social call." She paused and glanced back over her shoulder. "It was a quiet day." She grinned again. "My favorite kinds of days."

Diana would look back to their drinks as she poured them both a bit of tea from a glass container in a mini-fridge mounted in the wall.

Turning back toward him she walked back and offered him a glass, then would sit across from him with her own.

"And here I thought you were coming to tell me that Adrastea had damnaged the obersvatory and that I must fix it immediately." Diana teased while lifting her glass up for a sip of the tea.

Aqualad has posed:
"Is she here?" Kaldur says, perking a little. "Er, if she is, bid her hello for me," he tells Diana, relaxing almost immediately.

"But, no, there is nothing wrong," Kaldur assures Diana, accepting the tea with both hands and a small duck of his head. He sips the tea, and approving of the taste, thanks her again with a silent salute of the cup.

"I was speaking to several of my compatriots in the Titans," he clarifies for Diana. "We discussed the possibility of a small trip to Themyscira," the dusky-skinned youth remarks. "I did not wish to exercise too mcuh presumption, but of Cassie, Supergirl, and myself, there are a number who have been invited. I wished to suggest to you that perhaps it would simplify things if we made a group trip of the venture."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would sit straight in her chair and cross her legs at the knees while she gave her clear undivided attention onto him as he spoke to her. When he spoke of the combined party trip to Themyscira, she lowered her chin just a little and lifted her black brows up just a little higher. "A prospect that is okay with myself... but one that will likely make my mother's eyes narrow and her brow furrow right here..." Diana lifted her right hand up from her glass and traced her pointer-fingertip across the middle of her brows.

A large grin was shown then, as the princess was just teasing her far-away mother. "Thankfully she is not hear to have heard me say that." She said then, placing her hand back upon her tea glass and nodded her head a single time.

"Yes it is possible. It is... more difficult for the men, but... since you all hold a connection to Superman, then the convincing will likely be easier. However." A pause, Diana inhaled and her body rose up a bit due to it. "They will insist that a guard detachment follows you around throughout your time on the island. Women guests, who have been cleared, are given more privacy than men are... I am afraid."

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur ducks his head towards Diana gratefully. "I do not wish to cause strife between you and your esteemed mother," he reassures the woman, speaking his low, relaxed gravel.

"Thus far, the party includes only myself and a few others among the Titans; Cassie, Supergirl, and possibly Colette," he explains. "I am certain, however, that anyone to whom you extend an invitation would accept it gratefully."

"But, again--" a hand lifts. "I do not wish to create un-necessary strife with her Majesty. Whatever limits of hospitality you are comfortable with are acceptable to myself, even if that means I shall stay away from your hallowed home," he reminds her.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's head would shake then after hearing this. "It would be no strife." She said in her thick greek accent. "She will handle it just fine, and to be quite honest, I believe the more we allow... then the easier it gets on all of them each time. So it is for a good cause." She flashed another quick smile then to the young man.

"Besides, if the group consists of your Titan group, then I know they are trust worthy and will follow all the rules and regulations. Just do not let Cassie talk you into doing dumb things while you are there, she is the one I worry about the most." Diana teased, showing another little grin.

"I will contact the island then and start the process of admittance. It should not be... too long. Far less time than it took me to convince them to allow a new permanent resident who also so happened to be a 'dragon'."

The princess huffed out a quick sigh. "That was an arduous process, to say the least. But. It all worked out in the end." And she smiled once more.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur returns Diana's good-natured grin at Cassie's behaviour. "She is dedicated and passionate," Kaldur says, agreeing with the sentiment that Diana expresses. "And a good and loyal friend. We all have our shortcomings," he chuckles.

"If a dragon is welcome in Atlantis, then I hope the rest of us can be as well," Kaldur tells Diana. "I know little of your culture." He sips the drink Diana provided. "We were discussing a cultural exchange day, at the Tower-- possibly sharing of a variety of cultures all at once. Cuisine, art, history. A way to broaden our collective horizons."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would smile a little after another sip from her drink. She shook her head side to side. "Being young is far from a shortcoming though. Even if we look back on our youths and realize we would have done things... far differently, were we able to do them all over again."

The princess would then gently nod her head to the man and she'd strike up another soft smile. "The Titans are likely to receive a welcoming response no matter where they wish to go to immerse themselves into that of new culture, and that includes Themyscira. I know that my mother, the Queen, is a harsh judge of who she accepts on our shores, but she's seeing reason behind many cases these days."

A slight head tilt and a shoulder shrug came from Diana then. "That is not to say that she could not put the full force of the Amazons on anyone who was unlawfully there... She, and the others, are still very... touchy." She smiled a little to finish the statement off. "To say the least."

Aqualad has posed:
"Atlantis suffers from quite a different challenge-- few surfacers can endure the great pressure of the depths," Kaldur says, trying to reassure Diana's frustrations with Themyscira. "Tha-Korr has developed submarines to assist... but without complex and expensive diving gear, the hazards are quite perilous. Eyes are not adapted to low light or high pressure, to say nothing of trying to breathe at those depths."

He exhales slightly. "Atlantis has spent so many centuries convinced we are at war with the world, that we've developed no way to bring the world to us. Until more surfacers visit, I fear my people will remain hostile and indifferent."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would listen to these accounts as she, herself, had never gone to the home of Arthur or Kaldur... It was still a mysterious place to her. "Then... for lack of a better way of putting it... We are in the same boat." She said with a hint of a grin touching the edges of her red lips.

Diana would shake away that bad pun with a side to side turn of her head. "I certainly am no expert on hw to solve the troubles of getting people down to your homeland though, that would require a mind more like that of... Tony Stark." She showed another small smile. "Knowing him, he might even enjoy the challenge of it."

She would nod once again toward him then, keeping her chin angled down just a little. "But, both of our societies have to be ready for it and I know from my own experience, that mine... even after having been trying for over a century, still are not quite there."

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur grins a little at the pun. That's one joke he gets! He chuckles at Diana's humor, shaking his head at her wit, but pays attention to her suggestion as to the technologists who might be of aid.

"Atlantis suffers--" he pauses. "I speak here not as my king's emissary," he remarks, "but my personal observations."

He thinks carefully before speaking. "We are a broken society, in many ways. Posiedius, Tha-Korr, Triton-- we have not been a unified culture in millennia. If King Orin steps forward, Lord Namor steps back. When Triton declares peace, another mass goes to war."

"Until we present ourselves as the assembled seven kingdoms, I fear we may never find the peace that Themyscira is slouching towards."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would listen to this heavier summary of the politics of his people and she'd softly nod her head to him in understanding, or attempting to. "Our lives... have to have a purpose to strive toward. OTherwise, we end up like a ship in a storm." More sea references! "And even if a, true, and wonderous peace is... is not actually obtainable... I believe that it is the greatest purpose that we can dedicate ourselves to. We must push for it and never let anyone sway us from it."

Diana would glance away for a brief second, having looked at something on the far wall to her right, but its unclear what precisely, before she looked back at him. "I have witnessed it in my time within Man's World. The harder we push for peace, the closer it does come. Clearly we have a lot further to go though." She showed a very faint smile then.

"I can tell that you have the right direction for your people, so I will be cheering for you from my place in all of this."

Aqualad has posed:
"It is perhaps our nature to be warlike," Kaldur concedes, a little grimly. "Themyscira is an island of warriors. Atlantis a nation of them. Surfacers live such short and violent lives..."

He looks away, too, then smiles again at Diana, grateful for her reassurances. "You fulfill your reputation ably, Princess," Kaldur tells the raven-haired woman. "It is said that a single word from Diana is equal to a thousand from anyone else. I feel my spirits lifting merely in your company," he tells her. "Peace may be a long and difficult goal-- but with your confidence, I do not feel it is so unattainable," he chuckles.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would nod softly once at the word of his his nation and then when he complimented her she struck a larger and more prominent smile, sitting up a little higher in her chair even. "'They' say a lot of things about me." She respond to him. "I have heard the Youtube videos... the songs, the parodies... I get the fan mail and try to read some of it as often as possible. The positives -and- the negatives."

Diana would slowly shake her head from right to left. "I... am not so sure how to really react to what people do and say when it comes to speaking on the subject of myself. That is something still rather new to me over these past several years of being a public figure. All I really can say is I enjoy those who seem to take positivity from my presence, because thats all I really want... when you break it down to its basic ingredients." She'd nod a singular time again.

"For people to be happier." And she'd smile softly again, a warming expression to most who received it from her.

Aqualad has posed:
"A most admirable goal," Kaldur tells Diana, bowing his head with sincere respect. "And perhaps as important as any other task to which we bend ourselves."

There's a particular beat-- one, two-- and Kaldur remains silent. "I hope we can see each other again soon, Princess Diana," Kaldur tells the woman. "Your perspective-- and company-- are a most welcome one."

It's a very rare protocol, but Diana's history lessons would know it. Kaldur, being attendant to royalty, would never excuse himself from Diana's presence. He clearly views her as royalty, and as politely as possible expresses his need to return to duty without being so rude as to end the conversation.

Kaldur gives Diana a look that'd be expectant if it were not so mindful and polite.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would smile then at the man and she'd set her tea cup assign and then rise from her chair and smooth out her skirt before reaching her righ thand over toward him. "I am always here to offer what assistance I can." She'd tell the man. "If you think of anything you need to bring to me, please do not hesitate."

Diana would glance back toward the doorway where the Amazonian woman who'd brought Kaldur in was standing once more, she still held his belongings in her hands and was clearly ready to escort the man back to the front of the building where'd they'd first met.

"Oh, and do tell Arthur that I intend to stay much longer at his next party." She'd show another little smile then.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur turns, and bows to Diana. "My thanks, Princess- and I will pass your words on to my King," he tells her. And he means it!

With a nod of thanks at the Amazon asssitant, he follows her out of the embassy, and only then does he place his weapons back on his belt.
