Cast of Characters: Boom-Boom, Tendril

Boom-Boom has posed:
"It's too rainy to go to the pool." Tabitha Smith had complained to her friend Alexia Nemo after they were finished with classes at Xavier's. "I don't wanna go shoppin' _again_." she had moaned. "Wait, what'm I sayin'? Here, feel my forehead. Am I sick?" Tabby had taken Lexi's hand and put it on her skin there to feel for a fever. "I want a pretzel and somethin'... hey, let's go bowlin'!"

So, there they were at the lanes, fancy garish bowling shoes rented from the place, an immense pretzel and a soda for Tabitha, a small mountain of snacks for the mauve girl with the impossible metabolism. tabby pushed buttons on the console in their lane. "F-O-X-Y. A-W-E-S-O-M-E. There. We're ready to go."

Tendril has posed:
Lexi looks around a bit bemusedly. "...I can't believe we snuck out to go bowling..." she says with a sigh. At least the bowling alley is NEAR the school, rather than all the way back to New York or something. She plops down in the seat next to you, eyeing her shoes. "I've never actually played this...we just roll it down there, right?" she says curiously, reaching out to snag some nachos to dip in cheese and munch as she considers the alley in front of the two of them.

Boom-Boom has posed:
"What did you want to do?" Tabby asks, standing to take up a ball from the return rail. "Go to a Mets game and streak down the third base line?" she wonders. "Ooh, that'd be fun. We can do that next week." She turns around again, looking at the pins at the far end of the lane. "_Roll_ it, to knock down all the white things. Don't throw it... I know you can." She stands back from the line, the heavy ball up near her face as she aims. Then she looks back. "Does my butt look big? I think I'm eating too many snacks. I see what you eat and I can't help it sometimes." She shrugs, though and starts her approach to the lane's line, releasing at the right time. Still, it's not that great of a throw and it goes a little wide right, only knocking down three pins.

Tendril has posed:
Lexi raises a brow. "...is that actually something ya did?" she says, a bit doubtfully, but hops up to watch as Tabitha explains it, then flicks her eyes down to the rump in question. "Mmm....there is nothin' wrong with your butt, Boomer." she says amusedly, sighing a bit to herself at that little wiggle as TAbitha does the approach and sends the ball rolling down with a crash of pins. "Hmmm...so just....roll it so it hits th' front pin an' knocks the rest down, right? Gotcha." She hesistates. "But ya get a second chance now, right?"

Boom-Boom has posed:
"No. I will though, if you want me to." Tabby says with a grin. The machine returns her ball and she gets ready again. "Right and right. I mean, some people do all this fancy stuff like slidin' across the floor and makin' the ball curve and stuff. I just toss it and hope I knock down a bunch." and she throws again. A little better, but two in the far corner stay up. The pin machine reracks and it's Lex's turn.

Tendril has posed:
Lexi mmphs. "I feel like I"d be a bad influence if I asked ya ta do that..." she says with amusement, watching as you take your second shot, then goes to pick up her ball...which is purple, of course. "I mean, streakin' in public isn't as fun as in private..." she notes, as she tries to copy Tabitha, holding the ball up as she considers, then takes a few steps before she tries to roll the ball...really, more, she drops it, it bounces, then spins a bit crazily to clip the pins on the right side. "Gah!"

Boom-Boom has posed:
"But I like you being a bad influence, 'cause I'm so sweet and innocent and never ever do anythin' wrong." Tabitha says, with a pout. "But if you do it in private it's not streakin', is it? It's usually called 'taking a shower'. She watches the ball go down the lane. "That was okay. Try again!" she encourages.

Tendril has posed:
"I just got my fingers stuck in that one..." she mutters. "Maybe they should like, lube them up a little more...." She walks over to get her ball as it returns then swing it back as she takes a step up, letting it go a bit lower to the ground as it goes spinning forward to smash into the other side of the pins, knocking down another five. "Hey! I got that one!"

Boom-Boom has posed:
Boomer covers her mouth with her hands after Lexi's comment so she doesn't blurt out a response. By the time the other girl's ball has returned she's composed herself. Her hands able to be free finally, she claps for the spare. "Great job, honey." and then it's her turn again. "C'mon, baby. Momma needs a new pair of shoes." she mutters, her tongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth. She throws again. All but one, on the far left. "Yes!"

Tendril has posed:
Lexi giggles and claps. "Nice!" She grins. "Have you played this a lot with people?" she wonders curiously, watching as Boomer goes back to try and finish off the remaining pins. "I mean...like, on schools trips or with your friends before I got here or stuff?"

Boom-Boom has posed:
She throws again but the ball just goes straight down the alley, nowhere near the pin she left. "Man." she sighs. She goes back to the seats and plops down, reaching over to tear off a chunk of pretzel to dip in mustard. She pops that into her mouth. "We came a couple of time." she says through her chewing. "I used to come by myself, too, when I was feelin' sorry for myself. I guess it was a way to be with people but be alone at the same time."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl pauses instead of going to get her ball as the pins are reset, then walks over to you, before she gently perches in TAbitha's lap. "Really?" she says softly. "I mean...ya got all sortsa friends. Most of the class knows who ya are. An' that's without havin' purple skin." she murmurs playfully. "What gotcha down?" she says softly.

Boom-Boom has posed:
"Sure, I have friends." Tabitha says. "A couple of good ones. But, I dunno. Not so much I was down... it's jus'... I tend to keep people at arm's-length." she says, slipping her arms around the mauve girl's middle as Lex sits in her lap. "Or I let them in too far and get scared, an' push 'em away. Hard." and she shrugs. "I guess that's what happened with me and Rocket Pants... er, Sam."

Tendril has posed:
"I dunno, I think it's more he couldn't decide what he was feelin' for who..." she murmurs, then wiggles a bit, before sliding off again with a grin. "Mmm...even people who like ya, ya push 'em away? LIke Dani or Rahne or th' others like that who you've been goin' ta school with for a while now?" She walks over to scoop up her ball, then winds up a bit, before releasing it. This time she aims a bit more to the right...but overdoes it as it clips off the last three pins before falling into the cutter. "Awww..."

Boom-Boom has posed:
Tabby winces. "Ohh, too bad. Well, maybe you'll get a spare?" she suggests hopefully. "They're different. They're girls and they're okay to be a little close, like sisters. Some people I jus' don't get along with, though. Like Yana. I mean, I guess I'd throw a soda on her if she was on fire... and I guess we _do_ have a truce and stuff. So, she's okay. But, you know... it's hard to put up with me most of the time. I know it."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl chides gently. "You're not hard ta get along with. Ya just get fiesty sometimes...ya got a temper too. NOthin' wrong with that, as long as yer gettin' mad for th' right reasons, either." She waits for her ball to return, then tries to be too fancy this time and sends it curving out...then right back into the cutter just short of the pins. "....grrr....okay. So ya can curve it too..."

Boom-Boom has posed:
"I've never really gotten mad at you, honeycakes." Tabby says, standing to take her turn. "You saw how I yelled at Yana, and I almost blew up Monet's stupid perfect face one day at the pool. I dunno... I guess I never really got over how my dad acted most of my life." She throws the ball, six pins. "A little better." she steps back to wait for the ball to come back. "I hope I never treat you like I treated Sam. He didn't deserve to get crapped on like that. I'll prob'ly regret it forever."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl frowns a bit, her thin silvery brows drawing together. "I think yer bein' unfair there..." she says slowly. "I mean...he declared his love for Dani at th' same time he did for you...or right after. That's not cool. Ya don't string someone along like that if ya really care for 'em. So he deserved some yellin' for treatin' a friend poorly....especially if he was thinkin' ya might wanna be more than a friend." She shakes her head a bit. "I'm sure he'll get over it...an' maybe learn a lesson from it." she says. "See, yer all after school special now or somethin'. PSA 'bout treatin' girlfriends right!" She grins.

Boom-Boom has posed:
"No, honey. It was my fault." Tabby says. "He told me that he and Dani were a thing and I kinda wanted him to date me too. I encouraged him. He wasn't sure he still wanted to be with her, 'cause of her girl... but maybe I was the last straw? I might have broken them up. They might've worked somethin' out if i hadn't screwed everything up." She snatches her ball up and throws it, a little too hard and it just curves off into the gurre. "I'm good at that."

Tendril has posed:
Lexi frowns, then walks over to slide her arms around the other girl. "No. That was not your fault. An' he shouldn't have used you like you were a...a point ta score against Dani to get back at her or somethin'. He coulda said no. Or he coulda said he needed ta figure things out with Dani first."

Boom-Boom has posed:
Tabitha leans on Lexi a moment, as the mauve girl puts her arms around Tab. "He's a _guy_, Lexi." she sighs. "He _can't_ say no. I was there and he was there and he was tryin' to keep me from mouthin' off to the Juggernaut." She shrugs, though. "Dani's not mad at me, though. So... I guess that's okay."

Tendril has posed:
The other girl pshs. "That's bullshit...'it's okay because guys can't help themselves so it's th' girl's fault they were thoughtless -jerks-'..." she says, in a sharper tone. "That isn't yer fault hon. He damn well can say no. It isn't like he's some gang boy with no self control, he's trained along side ya as much as anyone. Of -course- Dani isn't mad atcha. It wasn't yerr fault. She doesn't blame ya for it."

Boom-Boom has posed:
Tabitha squeezes Lexi gently. "Thanks. Yeah, that'd be the worse part of this, if I lost a friend like Dani over a stupid kiss. Friends are more important than dates, that's for sure." She manages a grin. "Should we finish our snacks?"

Tendril has posed:
The other girl opens her mouth to reply, when her stomach answers for her, growling loudly, before she flushes a bit. "...okay, quick snack break before we keep going."
