A Convoy Interrupted
Date of Scene: 23 September 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Box, Skylark, Colossus, Wonder Girl

Box has posed:
A convoy of trucks was just on its way out of the tri-state area, departing a SHIELD facility in New York and heading across the country to deliver its contents to an Alpha Flight containment laboratory. Unfortunately for this specific convoy, it was close enough to the invasion from Apokolips, and caught the attention of a band of Parademons who attacked the vehicles as they fled the area.

An urgent distress call was broadcast shortly after the attack, one of many, given the enormity of the situation, warning that they were under attack, and their dangerous cargo could not risk breaking containment? assistance was required urgently. The radio has since gone silent.

Skylark has posed:
"Right on schedule!"
"Just like the message said it would be--"
"Looks like someone or something else is trying to steal our cargo!"

Skylark, or the daughters of King Leer, were trailing the convoy for a reason. Whatever was being kept inside of this truck was of great interest to them and they would stop at nothing to take claim of the bounty within.

""Looks like a lot of somethings!"

The girls are dressed in their typical black bodysuit, their hair completely hidden beneath a tight hood for what should have been a rather covert mission. They are in a vehicle of their own, a pink and black sports car of all things, racing alongside the delivery truck. The girl in the passenger seat steers the car sharply towards the the fleeing car, but being this close to the target vehicle gives them a far better glimpse at what exactly it is that they are up against.

"What are they?" cries out one. "I don't know, but they look pretty cool if you ask me." Adds another. "And strong." Says the driver whose attention can only now focus on these beasts.

The driver does her best to keep their own car steady, but before her sisters can even attempt to board the truck, she stops them. "At this rate, the truck will only crash. It may be best to wait for that happen than to risk our own lives."

"Understood." The other two say in unison.

Not that they are letting the truck along with the parademons speed off too far out, keeping a good pace behind it. In fact, just their presence may very well attract the demons as well.

Colossus has posed:
Xavier's is close enough (and their equipment fancy enough) to pick up the transmission, although unfortunately at the time it seems most of the X-men are off doing other things, whether dealing with bits of the invasion themselves or the ongoing drama of everyone's favorite teacher couple. Either way, why do they always leave Colossus home alone to babysit Negasonic?! Fortunately, he is one of the team members trained to fly the jet. Fortunately #2, it has some rather sophisticated autopilot systems so taking it out alone isn't a total nightmare.

The jet makes the short trip in good time (staying subsonic and stealth as not to give the FAA or residents of northern New Jersey a heart attack), coming in over the last calculated source of the transmision and skimming over the highway along its likely course.

"Hello, hello, are you reading me? I was receiving distress call. Please to respond."

Once he spots the vehicles - plural, including a pink sports car! - and the swarm of attacking critters, he swaps the jet into VTOL to keep from overshooting them while not stalling out, ready to put down, or even have the autopilot lower him to the point where he can make a jump!

Wonder Girl has posed:
These critters have been causing quite a ruckus recently, and none to Cassie's liking. New York had been under attack, and sensibly enough her school had cancelled classes. Kind of risky to have students roaming the streets as tanks roll down them to square off with armies of alien invaders arriving via interdimensional subway tunnels. With plenty of free time on her hands, she'd volunteered to fly a few more extra patrols, cleaning up whatever remnants of the invading force were still scurrying around or just helping in damaged neighborhoods. A lot of babies (and cats!) to rescue from burning buildings and that sort of thing!

Her team radio had been tuned to various emergency channels, and really, there was so much going on it was hard to sort one distress call from the next sometimes. The one from the truck comes from over the river, a bit out of her designated area. But then she spots the strange sight of the stealth military-style jet woooooooshing across and... what the hell, right? It looks like something interesting is going down!

So the Wonder Girl sets off to investigate. Fortunately, she doesn't need a ride! Her own flight is speedy enough to catch up with the fancy jet. It's also a little more convenient and maneuverable. For instance, she can fly past the windshield of the plane to check out the pilot, or dip down next to the convertible filled with fellow blonde teenagers and wonder, rather casually, "Hey what's up? Do you guys notice you're driving *toward* the armored car being attacked by Wizard of Oz rejects and chased by the Air Force?"

Box has posed:
It's a wonder stealth jets don't run into each other more at these kind of things, what with how quickly they seem to crowd the sky over incidents. Luckily, there is no such collision, this time!

By the time Wonder Girl and Colossus arrive on the scene, the Parademons have caused the convoy trucks to crash, the government agents driving them appear wounded or dead, perhaps, a few laying on the ground near their SUV's. The Semi truck that was hauling the primary cargo, has overturned, blocking the majority of the road, the vehicle appears to be armored, though the rear doors have bent outward a bit.

There are still Parademons in the vicinity, though the majority have left, those that remain appear to be in the process of terrorizing passing motorists!

Skylark has posed:
Having trained on their very own race track back in Canada, each of the Skylarks know a thing or two about driving fast, so even when the truck sways and wavers in its distress, the Skylark behind the wheel keeps their convertible speedster steady as can be; even in such odd and rather stressful circumstances. They continue to chatter amongst themselves as the race car keeps to a safe trailing distance from the main vehicle and the rest of the convoy.

"Drive closer!" Cries one of them, who is not the driver. "Maybe we can get aboard and take control of the truck. Could try to lose them that way."
"And then we can just drive the truck off into the sunset without even moving the cargo from one vehicle to the other." A second adds in.
The driver considers this a moment in a somewhat annoyed silence, but the reality that they now have visitors, who aren't dangerous demons, seems to now dawn on all three of them.

One of the girls pulls back her hood, there is no use being all stealthy in a situation like this, as she playfully waves up at the new arrivals. "The Wizard of Oz.." She says with a thoughtful smile.
"We saw that movie once." The second adds in as she too removes her hood to let her long curls flutter in the wild wind.
"The technocolor is horrible." Adds the driver this time. "But yes we do know that this is where we're headed."
"And it's terrible." Another of them chirps up, in regards to the parademon chaos.

And indeed, it is terrible. With the entire convoy freaking out over their alien attackers, one after the other, they begin slamming into each other before the main truck carrying the goods falls onto its side. The Skylark driver keeps all of her focus on the road and is able to avoid any of the other vehicles crashing into their entirely. She even comes to an abrupt stop before their expensive teenage girl's dream car smashes into the semi that now blocks their path.

"That was close!" Shouts one of the non-driving Skylarks as she unsteadily hops out of their convertible. "We were trying to stop it from crashing."
"But it wasn't in the cards." Adds the other as she tries to catch her breath from all of that excitement, especially as she had to hold on for dear life before she flew out of their own vehicle once it stopped.

The driver pops open their trunk as her two sisters wander in that direction. "This was totally unexpected." Cries out one of those sisters, motioning to the parademons.
"I sort of want one." Says the other.

Colossus has posed:
Piotr definitely looks a little surprised when the spunky blonde briefly shows up outside the cockpit. "Bozhe moi, who-" The man blinks once or twice, and then finally, getting over the shock of the sudden appearances, lifts one hand to wave out the window. It's not THAT strange, shock value aside. He knows a lot of people who fly! Still, the big fella can't quite put a name to this one, which only makes him wonder more for the situation. On the radio again: "Young lady, if you are listening, we must clear roadway of threats and protect contents of vehicle. I am getting out."

And with that, he taps some instructions into the autopilot and removes himself from the pilot's seat, heading back toward the rear bay as it opens below. Then, with a moment's thought, flesh becomes metal - he doesn't fit well in the cockpit otherwise - and Colossus leaps from the bay as the Blackbird picks up speed, the added momentum carrying him forward even as the jet arcs away on its pre-set path.

Sailing through the air, Colossus lands heavily in the center of the road, leaving footprints in the asphalt. A quick glance surveys the nearest threats and the damaged SVUs, and he moves to one of them first, to check on the agents and chase off any of the flying critters. The metal man doesn't seem too intimidated by their weapons, and when some scatter from his lumbering approach, he grabs a chunk of debris to hurl through the air at one of them.

Turning back from the SUV wreck, he notices the car that's joined them, as well as some of the other traffic backing up behind them under scattered parademon torment. "Please to be staying back! This area is dangerous!"

Wonder Girl has posed:
"Well, OK, just be careful. I'm gonna see if I can help," Cassie tells the girls in the car, who are weirdly nonchalant. As if she should talk!

Cassie's own first and immediate instinct is toward protecting people on the scene, not further strange banter with the girls in the car or even some plane-dude who comes on the radio. It sounds like they all know what's up, more or less and she's not gonna tell them how to do their jobs or let them tell her how to do hers! So the flying girl zips forward once again, sailing beyond the racing car toward the wrecked convoy. Even if she's too late to prevent the terrible accident, she's eager to help the survivors.

Seeing a metal man fall out of the plane, she veers the other way, zig-zagging through the air as she ping-pong-punches a few of the parademons en route toward one of the remaining SUVs. When she arrives, she immediately grips and lifts the wreckage off of one agent still seemingly pinned beneath, flipping the vehicle back upright before bending down to check on them.

"Hello? Any of you guys still with us?" Then she shouts over at Colossus: "Some of these guys look pretty bad, gotta get 'em back for treatment."

Box has posed:
The first few Parademons are easily dispatched by the Wonder Girl, sent crashing here and there thanks to the super strength of the Amazonian woman, and she is able to get to the wreckage. The man pinned beneath the vehicle she lifts groans in pain, but seems otherwise largely uncommunicative.

The Parademons are drawn back to the location of the convoy, thanks in no small part to the arrival of the heroes, and the flittering shocktroopers begin to turn from their harassment of the motorists, and begin to fire upon the heroes with their Apokoliptian energy weapons, focusing on both Wonder Girl, and the Colossus, leaving the Skylarks and their sportscar ignored?. For the moment!

Skylark has posed:
As both Colossus and Cassie busy themselves with the injured, one of the Skylarks reaches for a little hi-tech looking container from out of the trunk of their car, while the other grabs what looks to be a large gun of some sort. It is only then that the driver swings open the driver's side door and takes a step out, her own futuristic looking firearm in hand. From behind the car, she can hear her sisters chatting.

"We need to get one of those things too. The monsters?"
"That's not on our agenda. But if we get the chance..."

Both girls are then cut off, as the third sister pipes up, "Did you see what I saw? Falling from the sky?" And to this she points off into the distance at the metallic man, an action which draws the attention of her sisters. The trunk door is shut closed when the pair meet up with the driver of the vehicle once again and one of the speaks in hushed tones.

"And that girl. She's the one from our hummingbird feed." To this there is a nod in unison from all three.

From the relative safety near their pink and black car, the girls watch as the heroes do what they do best -- protecting the innocents while fighting back with such superhuman strength. The sisters can't help but look impressed by it all, but the world is filled with super types and their superior genetics. "Should we help?" Asks one, before another states, "We need to get our specimen first."

The third adds in, "Perhaps we can kill... multiple birds with one stone." To this, the other sisters look to one another and slowly nod.

With that said, the sister who truly wants to enter this fight fires off her hand-held laser cannon in the direction of one of the beasts as if testing its armor. She is the car's driver. "And besides, if we get into trouble, I'm sure the brawny types will lend a hand."

Colossus has posed:
"If we can clear area, I will call back my plane," Colossus calls over, from one SUV to the other, to where he sees Wonder Girl recovering the agent from beneath the vehicle. "To transport those being in critical condition." Based on an unarmed spy plane, the Blackbird isn't really built for heavy engagement itself, usually depending on the crew to defend it. Also: auto pilot!

So with that, the mettalic giant sets toward the task of defeating some of the pesky swarm. Ripping a bumper from the back of the SVU, he charges a group of them focusing on him. And though he may appear cumbersome, the man's metal muscles function as fluidly as their organic counterparts, his rush toward them perhaps surprisingly quick. A few shots glance off his metallic skin entirely, although one of them fires a larger blast that hits him more dead-center, the force of it staggering him momentarily, though not, it would seem, seriously penetrating his strange flesh nor disuading him further than that.

"Return where you came!" he calls out, along with some choicier bits in Russian, as he finally leaps into their midst, using the bumper like an oversized fly-swatter.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie is perfectly happy to take them on, especially if it means putting herself at the center of their focus. "Bring it, space freaks!"

Pulling her lasso from her belt, the Wonder Girl takes a few running steps then bounds back into the air, diving straight for the gathering of para-whatevers. She's not quite so nonchalant as Mr. Metal about being shot at, so her incoming flight once again takes a zig-zagging path, this time not to veer around to scattered targets but to evade fire from gathered ones.

Then again, she does have a little bit of bling of her own, metal forearms if not a whole dang body. A few near-hits are met by her bracers instead, deflecting shots off into the blacktop or even back at them (only occasionally, she's still practicing that!). But it gets here there, mostly un-zapped. In their midst, the girl lashes out with her fists, pummeling several before another at a distance aims with it's rifle...

... only to have the barrel snagged by her lasso-noose and yanked away. "Play nice, creeps!"

Box has posed:
The weapons of the Parademons are significantly more dangerous than anything found on earth, and it's a testament to the Colossus' durability that he is not effected more by the blasts fired at him, though the two do quite well in defending themselves. The Skylark drops one with her advanced weapon, while Colossus is able to swat one down with his makeshift club. When Cassie rips the weapon from the Parademons hands, it responds by opening its mouth, and exhaling a gout of superheated flame at the Amazonian woman.

Further away, the Parademons continue their harassment of Motorists, swooping down at a bus of people and ripping into the roof, several of the flying creatures swooping in after to try and snatch a few civilians up, intent on hauling them off, it would seem.

Skylark has posed:
"We don't even have a container large enough to hold one of these creatures." Cries out one Skylark to her sisters.
"That's fine, we'll collect some of their weapons and swipe some of their DNA." Comes a response.

The Canadian triplets are no physical match for the parademons and are far weaker in strength and endurance than the hero duo, but they do what they can with the weapons which they have crafted on their own. With the Skylark firing off shots at various demons with her laser cannon, the one with the larger weapon opens fire with a blow-torch like weapon, once more testing the waters. The weapon-itself, allows her to fire off fireballs towards the creatures, as well as engulfing them in one long stream of intense flame. For the most part, the girls remain close to one another, their backs towards each other as they will not be caught unaware. The third Skylark, shoots out electrifying mini-arrows from within one of her wrist bands as she slowly tries to ease the group in the direction of the toppled semi-truck.

However, once one of the creatures decides to fire down upon them, the girls quickly disperse to avoid being hit. One of them has her back to one of the SUVs, using it for the cover. The other, does the same behind another vehicle. It is the third, the one with the blowtorch that tries to set their aggressor on fire with her own well shot fireballs.

Colossus has posed:
What does happen is what happens to Colossus pretty much every time he fights blaster-y foes: his uniform gets torn up something fierce, first a variety of small holes burned through it, then larger sections vaporized, leaving the rest hanging in tatters on his broad, steely chest. Guy takes costume damage like an anime chick!

Overall, there's a sense of annoyed frustration as Piotr fights the parademons, their wings and ranged weapons giving them enough maneuverability to stay ahead of many of his swings, zipping in and out of range. He takes a few more swings with his improvised swatter, then is forced to chuck it again, turning it into an improvised missile against one of the flapping foes.

"These creatures are most infuriating!" he shouts as they continue to harass him. If only some of his more ranged-inclined comrades were at his side!

However, amidst his varied flailings and swattings, he spots the trio of girls come out blasting. Their weapons are probably better suited to the task, but as the demons turn on them, he's filled with concern for their more fragile constitutions, and as the three scatter, two finding cover, he moves near the third, indeed moving INTO a shot directed toward her. "Careful, young lady!"

Wonder Girl has posed:
"Ahh! Ohmygod! Ohymgod I'monfire!"

Cassie is totally not ready for that fire trick, the back-up weapon taking her off guard. And while she instinctively raises her arms in self-defense, they're far less suited for blocking a gout of flame than a bullet or focused energy blast. And while they keep her from being hit square in the face, much of the flame wraps and licks around her forearms, burning her hair and clothes, and probably doing no favors to her flesh beneath. Her secondary instinct is to fly straight upward out of the blast, the rush of wind enough to snuff out anything that's still burning, while leaving her a bit charred and smoking as she glares down from above. "Alright then, no more playing nice..."

Cassie does have some temper issues.

When she comes back for that one, she comes back hard, sailing at him like an angry blonde missile. In the ensuing melee, she lashes out with her fists and bracers when the aliens get close or her lasso at more distant ones, the gold rope tightning around its first target and then coursing with crackling electricity.

Box has posed:
The Parademons have one more trick up their sleeves, something that Cassie will discover as well, as her lasso sends a jolt of electricity into the captive one, and that is that Parademons, apparently explode, discharging in a blast of devastating Energy, luckily far enough away to avoid any serious harm.

The Skylarks have mixed results with their eclectic brand of weaponry, ranging from injuries, to annoyance in the Parademons they fire upon, and of course, it causes fire to be returned at them, something the vehicles, and luckily Colossus are there to intercept.

Skylark has posed:
"Duck!" Cries the Skylark crouched down behind the SUV, seeing exactly what Colossus sees now from the temporary comfort of her hiding place. She shifts to turn, now down on one knee as she lifts her laser cannon up to take aim at the monster in the distance who just fired upon her sister. But something halts her trigger finger.

The Skylark with the flame thrower has her attention on one of the other parademons, thus missing the shot fired off in her direction. Hearing her sister call to her and then the kindly voice with the heavy accent, she quickly turns onto to find a mass of shining metal at her side. At first, she's left confused, but then hearing the sound of the impact made against Colossus's hard skin, she then realizes what had just happened. Slowly, flame throw Skylark's free hand reaches out in what would seem like slow motion and in a brief moment, she touches the metal with a bare hand. "This is just skin...or?" She asks in mid-combat. Having some confusion as to what she is feeling now.

The third Skylark has been quietly observing everything around her and when she sees Wonder Girl being lit afire with one of the alien thing's weaponry (not one that she and her sisters invented!), she quietly stays low and makes her way in the Amazon's direction. During her journey, she either reloads or switches cartridges for her wrist thingie. When she is near the Titan, still crouched behind a car, the Skylark calls out, "I have antisceptic sprays, some burn-be-gone. You know, if you need anything. Just ask!"

Colossus has posed:
Well, technically it's a bit more than skin-deep. But as far as the girl's question goes, which Piotr takes more in the sense of 'you're not Iron Man, right?', he can give a fairly simple answer: "Da. Stay behind me, you will be safe."

Serving as his team's human shield or a form of mobile cover is not an uncommon position for Colossus, and he moves carefully with the... well, particular one of the three girls that he's chosen out of the lot of them. It may be only now that, looking around between the others, he realizes how oddly similar they all look. There's... something familiar about that.

"You... you and your sisters, you are not friends of Ms. Frost, are you?" He just has to ask, if they're asking questions!

In any case, the man walks slowly toward one of the other sisters still hiding by the car (the first, rather than the one by Wonder Girl), helping at least those two rejoin one another and giving them some further opportunity to shoot at the demons.

"Careful," he cautions, seeing one explode, though he's not about to tell them to stop shooting. The guns are useful! Ish! And while he stays near the young women to protect them, it won't stop him from hurling another oversized piece of wreckage here or there!

Wonder Girl has posed:
At least the critter is at a bit of a distance when it blows up in her lasso. "Hah! Yeah! Fry you weirdo bug-dude!" She sounds almost... gleeful, to see the thing blow?

In fact, Cassie is very much on the warpath, and she's not about to let their suicidal self-destruct modes slow her down. In fact, learning about this part of their nature seems to have almost the opposite effect on her. It's almost a kind of encouragement, freeing her from the... morality that might otherwise hold her back from more wanton, unrestrained violence. If they're so eager to die for their cause, who is she to argue?

This can be seen in the power her blows seem to gain, as she spins on one of the creatures and punches it hard enough to send it flying back some distance to slam against the side of the flipped truck. Were they supposed to be guarding that? Pft.

All told, ragey Cassie is a bit of a sight to behold, lashing out with such unrestrained and potent violence, and its only in the midst of setting her lasso on another unfortunate soon to be bug-zapped victim that she catches one of the mortals below. Yep. In that instant, it's how she views the woman on the ground, too. Ares would be soooo pleased with all of this.

"They're hardly slowing me down!" she calls back, all too cheerfully. Then she calls across to where Colossus is guarding the others. "C'mon, big handsome and metal, you're falling behind!"

Box has posed:
While Colossus talks with the triplets, Cassie is in the skies punching, and lassoing, and destroying several of the Parademons, fire breath breathed her way, energy blasts from Apokoliptian weapons fired her way, and generally causing quite the ruckus, she even manages to save one of the abducted civilians, however there are still several Parademons further afield, moving to try and secure more captives from the backed up automobiles who's path to freedom is blocked by the crashed motorcade.

Skylark has posed:
With the big wall of steel, or whatever he's made of, standing before her, the Skylark with the torch feels all the more comforted. And once more, she boldly places her hand, this time on his super strong bicep, testingly. "Is there muscle beneath this? There must be." She asks, mostly to herself, but with Piotr standing RIGHT THERE, he's bound to hear the question. Though it is to his own inquiry that the bright blue eyed blonde looks up at him with an even brighter smile, before she asks directs a new question his way in regards to this Miss Frost, "No, but should we?"

While Colossus and her sister chit-chats, with the metal man acting as shield to the Skylark all the while, the laser cannon Skylark continues to fire various shots out at the parademons in the distance, especially those who are anywhere near the overturned semi. From her vantage point, she peers out further to meet eyes with her sister, the one closest to Wonder Girl. There's some form of understanding between the pair and just like that, the wrist-band Skylark (though to be honest, all of them are wearing the same weaponized wristbands), continues her creeping, but this time in the direction of the downed truck with the cargo, this not, not drawing attention to herself by firing off any more shots.

When Colossus comes up to meet her, with her sister in tow, the laser cannon Skylark, who is also AKA the Driver Skylark, reaches out to touch those metal muscles as well. These girls are not shy! "Impressive."

"Isn't it?" her firey weaponed sister asks in a chipper manner, before a plan suddenly pops into her head! "Do you think you can lift that truck upright and we'll drive it out of the way!"
The second sister adds in, "It's keeping those people trapped here." She even points in the direction of the semi.

Colossus has posed:
"Is all metal," Colossus informs Skylark number whichever, stoic under her curious poking andprodding he's getting from the first of the pair of young ladies, which is soon joined in by her sister. As far as reactions go when people learn about his (or any of his friends') mutations... he's had worse than being felt up by the young ladies!

But all of that aside, there is still work to be done. The flying Wonder Girl is engaged in what seems lke an all-out destructive brawl with a number of the creatures, but as formiddable as she seems, he leaves her to it, not rushing to try and shield her like he did the Skylark(s). Besides, the way she's zipping around in the air, he could hardly help. Instead, he glances after the demons that seem to be chasing people further down the road. "I must assist them," he tells the women near him, seriously. "But... is good idea, to clear traffic. Some vehicles may be able to escape."

He doesn't seem to consider they might be trying to steal it! And so with that, he turns to move toward the truck, examining it before beginning to lift the trailer. "Flying woman! See if you can help those still being attacked!" he calls toward Cassie, hopefully to get her mind off the mere brawling toward the civillians under attack.

Wonder Girl has posed:
FWOOSH! *whammo* Zzzzzzap-crackle... KABOOM!

Cassie and co are sure putting on a bit of a show, with gouts of flame, flashes of lightning, and explosions every time she hits one of the demons hard enough to put it out of commission. But she is running out of targets, and despite her thrill at the pure violence of it, when a shout from the other side turns her attention on the civillians still under distress, she's immediately on the case. Flying over at speed, she picks the nearest one that seems to have a human victim in its grasp, and kind of tackle-grabs it free. Then she just keeps flying, arcing upward past the vehicle they were near. With all these people around, she can't just have them go blowing up anywhere, after all. Of course, the thing is fighting her fiercely as they fly and as much as she just wants to smoosh it... a bear hug doesn't seem like the best idea!

Jeez these things are annoying?

Box has posed:
The Trailer is incredibly heavy, heavy enough that Colossus would have to strain, at least a little to get it upright, between the extra armoring, and whatever cargo it might have inside. It is, however, soon placed back upon it's wheels, along with the cab, in a state that it might just be able to be driven out of the area to clear traffic.

Cassie is doing a good job with the swarm of Parademons that have descended on the traffic, while it's likely that some civilians were abducted before the Heroes arrived, she is doing quite a good job rescuing any other humans that might be in the process of being snatched from the Parademons that remain.

Skylark has posed:
With Colossus at their side (or standing in front them), the pair of Skylarks walk more confidentally again, no longer creeping around between cars as they would have after the initial attack had sent them scattered. One of the sisters, keeps a steady hand on the man of metal's arm, only drawing away when he moves to lift something up to toss at those pesky thing. On their treck to the toppled truck, the other sister crouches down to examine some of the remains left behind by these demon creatures. Taking one of her test tubes tucked away into a belt pouch, she scrapes up the... goo with a tiny spatula-like thing and then inserts it into the tube for safe keeping. From where she is crouched, her eyes lift to view Colossus as he and the other Skylark continue their way to the truck, perhaps pondering on how to puncture through that metal, but any other ideas of such things goes away and soon enough, she quickly joins the pair... but not without the parademon sample as well as a few alien weapons in hand.

The third Skylark is already at the overturned semi, though keeps to a safe place as she watches the others around her get swooped up and taken away by the winged monsters. She can't keep them distracted and break into the cargo area of the truck at the same time... That's when she notices her sisters in the distance in the company of Colossus. The girls all seem to cheer the metal man on as he moves to lift the entirety of the large truck upright, with clapping and words of inspiration and all that. All the while, they do keep watch for those pesky demons around them and if one ever attempted to force Colossus to drop the vehicle, they would, all three, fire upon it, but this time using some of the alien tech that they have been gathering.

Only once the truck is set safely back down, does one of the Skylarks, this time a new driver, hops into the driver's seat, awaiting her sisters to join her.

"You are super strong!" Cries out one of the girls before she, herself, slips into the cab of the vehicle.
The third, the Driver, summons their sports car which self-drives over to them -- avoiding all the rubble and other cars in the process. "We'll be back to help out more! Right now though, we're going to clear the road!" And with that, she hops into their own car and begins to follow suit as her sisters in the truck start their engine to drive off.

Colossus has posed:
So Colossus gets a personal cheerleading squad comprised of identical triplet sisters? Stoic as he is, that's the kind of thing no man can endure without it going to his head at least a little. Their words carry him through the effort that it turns out to be, the greater-than-expected weight of the truck at least some hint at the level of security involved. Although not yet at his limit, the effort involved still translates to a bit of a show for the trio, and the way that his metal muscles strain and flex, showing in greater relief through the necessary effort, does seem to speak to the truth of his claims of their organic nature. They move like the real thing. And with his shirt in tatters they get a good show!

Once he's done, spending a moment more with the cab and making sure all the connections are secure between them, the man turns back to whichever of them is nearest. He does smile, at her compliment, and even his metal face is not without emotional detail. "I think is sturdy enough to be driving," the man offers. "But maybe not far. Pull up and ahead, da? I will contact authorities and make sure other situation is handled." Meaning the still-ongoing brawl further down.

And all of this goes to show that he doesn't have the smallest whiff of suspicion toward them! He really should know that all identical clone women are untrustworthy, even if they're not Emma's!

Wonder Girl has posed:
Wonder Girl fights on! With some of them scattering in different directions, she can't chase them all down, a fact which probably enrages her further. But she tries to do what she can for those still nearby.

The parademon she took up into the sky with her is at some point released, with Cassie floating back just far enough to turn and give it a powerful double-legged kick to send it hurtling back toward the ground, but at least at an angle where it should crash somewhere off on the roadside. Then spotting at least one of the creatures fleeing with a captive, she gives chase, here again putting her lasso to good use, snagging the would-be abductor at a distance.

Unfortunately, she can't just go ahead and zap it, with the self-destructing creeps they are, and is forced to drag it back to try and free its victim. But even this proves a wickedly difficult prospect, the creature happily making a shield of its hostage, gleefully tormenting Cassie as she trees to break the human victim free while avoiding bursts of flame and wicked claws.

Did we mention she's really starting to hate these things?

Box has posed:
The Truck begins driving off, and the traffic begins to move, though there are several disabled and damaged vehicles that will still need clearing to get the evacuees moving again, not to mention the few remaining Parademons, though Cassie is doing an incredibly efficient job punching them to death. In the confusion, and acts of heroics, it is quite likely it will be a bit before the fact that the semi kept on driving goes noticed, afterall, there are civilians in danger that need rescuing!
