Date of Scene: 26 September 2017
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones

Iron Fist has posed:
It's been some time since the ragtag team of street heroes has gotten together to discuss and/or pummel the city's growing ninja epidemic. After the dead-end at the end of the sewer tunnel, though, that's no surprise. The Hand covers their tracks well. They've had centuries of practice at doing so. But in a city of superheroes, private eyes, and all the rest, nothing stays covered for long.

In the conference room at Nelson and Murdock, Danny Rand sits by a cracked window that lets in some of the chilly fall air. It's gray out, and several large to-go cups of coffee sit scattered around the table. While he waits, the young C.E.O. flips through a file folder he's brought with him, a frown creasing the lower half of his face.

Daredevil has posed:
They all had spread out and done what they could to track down what information was out there on the Hand efforts in the city, each to their own gifts. For now the office of Nelson and Murdock serves until they can come together with some sort of consensus on where to have some other gathering point, but in the early hours of the night, the office is empty and it has a coffee-maker, so it already has two points in its favor beyond most other places. Also a meeting table. Score.
Inside the room, standing in the corner, is half of the lawfirm. Matt Murdock rests with his back against the wall, leaning casually as his cane set before him, both hands resting upon the pommel of it. Crimson glasses cast the reflection of the room back upon itself as he considers the others there.
"Everyone have something to drink? There are some donuts but they're a day old." He offers towards the box in the middle of the table with a nod. "Unless someone wants to take exception, I'll go first with what I found out. Which isn't a lot. But it's something."
He holds his voice in case there might be an objection or two but barring that he'll advance. "I was able to track down one of their teams as they were laying ground work for a future operation. Still not sure what they're angling for, but I was able to track down a cell." He reaches into a pocket in his jacket and produces a small envelope that he tosses on the table. It holds some miniature tape recordings and an appropriated security DVD that most likely holds some intel.
"They're led by a mid level boss I'm thinking, he goes by Yoshisuke Aikawa. He has six operatives under him. All a cut above their foot soldier level operatives."

Jessica Jones has posed:
Fall weather was Jessica's favorite time of the year. She was so happy, it made her sick.

Jessica sits at the table with her jacket laying on her lap and her phone in her hand, she's typing something on the phone's screen and muttering something under her breath...

Jessica reaches down to her messenger bag and she pulls up a six pack of amber ale and sets it down on the table after Matt asked if they had something to drink.

While staring at her phone, Jess slides one bottle out and thumbs the cap off with an alarming amount of ease.

"Six mini bosses, one major boss." She repeats in a disinterested tone. "Sounds like a wonderful time. I look forward to finding places to hide their dead bodies."

And with that, she took a drink from the bottle of still-cold beer.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny shuts his file and perks up at Matt's news. He's had trouble finding much of a lead in New York City and looks glad to hear someone was making some headway in these parts. There's even a hint of a smile on his face. He reaches down into his briefcase that's propped against the leg of his chair and pulls out a learber-bound notebook and a pen, in which he scribbles the approximately-correct spelling of Matt's lead. "I'm glad someone's on top of things," he says.

Jessica's contribution to the food and beverage portion of the meeting is eyed, and his smile turns into a boyish grin. It's good to have consistency, and the woman's alcoholism is something to count on. After considering a bottle for himself, he opts for the coffee in front of him.

"Any idea where to find these guys?" he muses, eyeing the package Matt tossed onto the table. He pulls it a bit closer and starts opening it.

Daredevil has posed:
"They seem to operate from a series of safehouses, but shift around to them. I found one, but they've only been there about one or two days a week." Matt tilts his head slightly as he hears the glass clinking of the beer bottles and smirks a little, but instead keeps his commentary on the task at hand. "Thursday is when they'l likely be there again. Unless you had a desire to try and get more intelligence from them was going to hit them then and see what I can find in the pieces."
A tilt of his head is given towards Jessica as he then adds, "I could, maybe, possibly, use a little back up. If one of our bruisers isn't too busy." He lifts his chin a little, eyebrows inclined as he mentions this, but then back towards Danny. "But right now all I've got is a lot of little glimpses into the small picture. I'm trusting one of you guys might be able to get a better angle on the big picture."

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jeesica finished sending her text to Trish and then lowered her phone back down onto her lap and took another drink of her afternoon snack. She listened to Matt and Danny and then motioned with her chin toward her beers when Danny was getting coffee instead. "I don't want to be the only one drinking. That'd be just awkward." She said to the Iron Fist, joking of course, though sometimes it was hard to tell.

Jessica would close her eyes while Matt talked, focusing on his voice... trying to hear his heartbeat... it didn't work... she'd try again later.

"I don't want to wait." Jessica said then, her eyes opening again as she looked over at Matt with a deadpan expression. "For our lives to be over."

Another drink of the beer was taken and she then lowered it down again. "Will it be yes.. or will it be..."

It was true that Jessica had a hard time taking this stuff seriously, but she was HERE, which was a massive step for anyone that knew her partially well.

"If Dawson's Creek taught me anything. Its that we should fight this band of ancient karate masters immediately. Right?" She looked between the two of them then.

Iron Fist has posed:
"Got a hard time believing that," Danny tells Jesssica in response to her claim of not wanting to drink alone. After, he scribbles down the name of the TV show to look up later. Pop culture in K'un Lun was way different and there are still plenty of references he doesn't get.

Back to business, he levels his gaze on Matt. "The sooner the better. Whatever it is they're planning, it needs to be put to an end. Then again, if we don't figure out what /is/ going on before we smash it all, some other guy will pick up the reins somewhere else."

And that's the conundrum. Prolong things to gather intel, or put a quick end to them and risk learning little.

Daredevil has posed:
"Trust me, in a lot of ways I'd prefer it." Matt turns towards Jessica and nods, and if she were able to catch the pace of his heart, she might well sense it being steady... precise. Just thumping away in his chest without discernible excitement nor hint of dissembling. Then his head tilts slightly as he seems to look just over Danny's shoulder, his brow furrowing for a moment.
"I am just not entirely sure if there is more to gather." He tilts his head, "Every way we've seen of this group operating, they're doing so with little direction from whatever governing entity they might have. They seem to get communicated one thing, somehow, and then they build up their efforts around it. A lot of freedom to... implement whatever."
He takes a breath and then pushes off of the wall, moving across the distance without using his cane and reaches out to take up one of the beers. Unlike /some/ people he actually pulls a bottlecap opener from his pocket as it's on the end of his keyring and pops the cap before he takes a swig. "So we might be waiting for a shoe to drop that has no plan to."

Jessica Jones has posed:
It was awkward coming to these things without Luke, he helped take the edge off of being around these two. Its not that she didn't like them, its that she didn't think they really liked her that much beyond her ability to punch a wall down. Why would they like her? Few did!

"Where's Foggy?" Jessica asked then, looking around back over her shoulder. "He'll drink with me.... 'EY FOGGAY!" Jessica called out into the main room, waited a second but he didn't come.

Jess sighed and looked back just in time to see Matt having approached and taken a bottle. "Now its a party!" She said with an over-exaggerated grin on her dark red lips.

Jessica lifted her beer up in Matt's direction. "I'm doing a toasting gesture." She said to the blind man, cause, you know... she didn't know what the hell he saw and didn't see.

Another drink was taken and Jessica set her bottle down ontop of her right thigh. "Just give me all their location information. I'll stake out each place, get photos... audio maybe even too. We'll know all about them within a week, two tops."

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny leans back and brings his hands up to pinch his nose. This whole mess was giving him a headache. He'd need at least an hour of meditation after this meeting just to reorient himself. "Yeah, we may also be burying a lead." A deep breath, then a long exhale. "But you're probably right. Let's hit 'em."

Turning to Jessica, he smiles and slides the folder he brought toward her. "Got something here you can look into, though."

The folder is full of boring paperwork, building leases, payment receipts, that sort of thing. "After we found...whatever it is we found under the hospital a while back, I started looking into where the Hand might be moving to. Found out a bunch of real estate was recently purchased by some shady corporation right next to a hospital in Queens. That's as far as I want my company to look into things. Think you can take a crack at it?"

Daredevil has posed:
"Alright, Jess." Matt says as he turns back towards her, giving her a single nod. "I'll trust your judgement in this. The information is there," He nods towards the envelope that's next to the folder that Danny has provided. He turns to face her fully and murmurs levelly, "Let me know when you think you've got a good enough angle and ten we'll crash their party together." It's perhaps the longest time he's spoken directly to her that they've known each other, but hey.
So he matches her toasting gesture of hers, but doesn't reach to clink since yeah. But he smiles at the two of them as he steps back, taking another drink of beer. "Foggy's taking a leave of absence though, otherwise I'm sure he'd join you." There's a pause as he scritches his chin with a fingertip, "Though he might take exception to the topic of our conversation."
That having been said he turns back towards Danny and listens to him as he gives his own intel on the matter. At the mention of the real estate move he quirks an eyebrow, curious but does not step on the man's verbal toes.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica would watch Danny slide that folder over and she'd lean forward then and set her beer down on the right side of it. A second later and she had it open and was thumbing through it, lifting edges of papers up to eyeball the contents.

"I think I actually recognize some of the names on these documents... I think I've dealt with..." She trailed off, not saying anything more on THAT.

A second later and Jess shook herself back out of her own head and looked up at Matt. "Huh?" She said at him. Another, quicker, headshake and Jessica then leaned over and took that envelope that Matt indicated.

"Yay. Homework." Jessica said in as dry of a way as possible.

"I'll figure out who we hit first. Don't worry your rich little butts off, gentlmen. We'll get this all wrapped up and then you'll never have to see my lovely face again."

Another drink was had and Jessica would move to stand up from her chair and get her messenger bag off of the floor to put the 'homework' into.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny grins and watches Jessica tuck away the intel. He hasn't really gotten to know the woman, but he trusts her. After all, despite the inebriation, she still shows up when they need her and throws an envious right hook. "Thanks, Jessica. Really," he tells her, reaching to grab his coffee and take a sip. His lips burn slightly but he power through it to drink some more.

After setting it down again he leans back and muses, "I wonder what Luke got up to today. Either of you talk to him lately?" He looks between the two with an arched brow.

Daredevil has posed:
Perhaps, for a moment, Matt Murdock starts to object... but down that path lies madness and instead of taking exception he just sort of opens his mouth, then stops and doesn't say anything about it. He then turns sidelong towards Danny as the man speaks. "Not entirely sure. Still doing work on his bar last I heard after..." He lifts a hand and waves it to the side as if trying to encompass all the madness of the last few weeks. "Everything."
Then as Jess passes by him he tells her, "Thanks for the help, Jones. I'll owe you." He says that as he turns around, leaning back against the table and sitting upon its edge, the bottle held lightly in one hand and the cane in the other.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jeassica chugged what was left inside her own bottle and then set it back down on the table before lifting her messenger bag up onto her left shoulder and then over her head. She looked up at Danny then and stared at him for a second before looking back down to her phone in her hands.

"Last time I talked to him he said I needed to pay up my tab at his bar." She said, reading a response from Trish. "So I told him to go to hell and stormed out, we haven't talked since." She muttered all of that, but it was still loud enough to audible. "I heard there was a big fight down at his bar though, why he bought a bar in Mutant Town of all fucking places is beyond me... that place is Shit Hole personified."

Jessica tapped a few more things on her phone and then turned to leave, pausing to grab her beer. She looked over at Matt. "You got pretzels sitting on your counter in your kitchen area, I saw them on the way in. You... care if I snag those?" She asked him, staring at his sunglasses.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny smirks and shrugs. "Probably not the wisest investment, but if anyone can handle it it's Luke." He makes a mental note to head over there and check on the bar. He hasn't been since he got back from Madripoor. That in itself was a whole ordeal he hasn't quite gotten over, yet.

As the meeting appears to be wrapping up, Danny lifts his briefcase from the floor and sets it on his lap. He stares and the beer for a moment, shuts his eyes, and mutters, "One won't kill me," to himself, before reaching over for a bottle. "Hand me that opener, would you?"

Daredevil has posed:
A tilt of his head to the side is given as those reflective lenses seem to cast the woman's reflection back upon her, granting no insight into the man behind them. Though the small curve of his lips might offer at least a touch of that. He tells her levelly, "Help yourself." And the smile might seem disarming, even as he takes another sip from the beer she had brought along.
But as she regards him he is doing like to her, sensing the pace of her heart, her breathing, gauging the way she's standing. Perhaps he might imagine something was out of sorts for her, or perhaps he seeks some insight. Whatever it is, it's almost impossible to tell that consideration as he senses the different aspects of the moment.
Then he turns back towards Danny, and his smile twists more wry, "See, we'll get you down to Josie's soon enough. Their wings aren't half bad." Not that they're half-good either, but... not half bad.

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica was most intrigued by Matt, the way he operated was both creepy and curious at the same time. She was a 'hawk' when it came to observing people, and she could tell that he was usually doing way more than living in the moment of the room... like the rest of them. "You're a peach." She said to the lawyer in a way that sounded like she wanted to say something far less kind.

She then felt her case of booze getting pilfered and she looked over at Danny.

"Finally, the kid starts to get some hair on his chest." She teased him.

Jessica would turn and start to walk toward the kitchen area across from the meeting hall. "You both owe me a beer!" She shouted back over her shoulders as she moved, black boots impacting with the hardwood floors of the office.

Jessica snatched up the unopened bag of pretzels. "If he's on vacation, he's not going to eat them anyway." She assumed they'd been Foggy's... and then she made for the front door.
